Right. Going home. She still needed to talk to him.
“Troy, we need to talk,” Sabrina started.
“No, we don’t. You are just going to bring us both down and frankly we don’t have time. Get your perky ass out of that bed and into the shower. I’m going to finish packing in my room. I’ve ordered breakfast and it should be here in a few minutes,” and he disappeared into his suite.
Well, that went well, she thought. Not!
She dragged herself out of bed and once again proclaimed the shower as the most glorious invention ever. She almost felt like a new person when she stepped out. She found a fresh cup of coffee on the counter. She didn’t know whether to be pissed or praise him for it so she just focused on drinking the coffee. She got dressed and quickly packed, just finishing as room service arrived.
As they were eating, Sabrina tried again.
“Troy, this has been a really nice weekend and it’s been great to be with you, but I think I let things go too far,” she said trying to ease into what she needed to say. But part of the issue was she just didn’t know what she should say. Nothing was clearer now than it had been when she arrived for the weekend. Maybe more confusing, actually…
“Sabrina, I am clear on where you are. We’re enjoying ourselves. Two people who love each other and are making their way through some things.”
She didn’t think he was getting the message actually. The way he described it, it sounded like relationship trouble. She had ended the relationship. Yet, it didn’t feel like things were ended this weekend.
“Come on, grab your stuff. We need to go.”
The flight home was uneventful. She tried twice more to broach the subject but he was having none of it. He kept the conversation light and touched her often. He tucked her in when she fell asleep. When she awoke, she knew he had tucked her in and turned her TV off. Always taking care of me, she thought.
They landed in Boston late Sunday night. He couldn’t convince her to let him drive her home. After getting their bags, he put them to the side and pulled her in for a hug. The hug led to him kissing her and trying to make it a passionate one. She put her hands on his chest to gently get him to stop.
“Troy, we need to go back to being friends. Things were a bit more than that this weekend, but I’m not being fair to you. I am not looking to get back together,” she said tentatively.
He pulled her into an embrace once again and spotted someone over her shoulder. Fuck! He thought. He held her tight and whispered into her ear. “Remember what I said, we were and will be again. Just keep trying and keep letting me try. This is right. We are meant to be. I love you," and he kissed her on the top of her head, picked up his bags and walked out to the curb.
She stood for a moment, wiping her mouth deep in thought. She picked up her things and turned to head out the other door to catch a taxi. As she was walking towards the double doors, she glanced to her right. Zach was leaning against a pillar next to the entryway with his arms crossed.
His eyes were serious and his jaw set.
Chapter 14
“Zach! What are you doing here?” she asked completely surprised.
“I didn’t want you to have to navigate a taxi knowing how tired you would be from all your travel. I was in the area, so I thought I would swing by and pick you up. Looks like I didn’t need to bother. Looks like you had a ride available,” he said as he pushed his head in the direction of the door that Troy had exited through.
“Looks like the two of you had a good weekend,” he said with a still serious tone.
Sabrina was at a loss on how to handle this.
“Zach, you caught me off guard here. The wedding was perfect. Everyone had a great time especially the bride and groom.”
“Wonderful,” he said but not really meaning it.
“I see from the flowers in your hand that you caught the bouquet?” he noted.
“Yes, it was more like I caught the missile Lacy launched at me,” she said with a small laugh.
“Who caught the garter?” he asked, dreading the answer.
She looked at him and he saw the answer in her eyes.
“Are you back with him, Sabrina?” he asked looking directly into her eyes.
“No”.
“It didn’t look like that just now, with what I just saw,” he pushed.
“No, I’m not.”
“Did you sleep with him, Sabrina? You don’t owe me an explanation or feel you need to defend yourself and I’m sorry, but I need to know.”
“We’re getting a little ahead of ourselves, aren’t we Zach?” Sabrina with eyebrows raised.
“No, we aren’t. I’ve truly suffered the last 5 days with you away in Hawaii. I want to know what the deal is.”
“You want to get into this now? Now? Here? At the airport?” she said incredulously.
“Yes” he said plainly.
“Fine. Troy and I had a nice weekend. He did kiss me a few times. I tried to talk to him several times about the fact that we are not together, but I didn’t have any success.”
“How do you feel about him Sabrina?” Zach probed.
She was quiet.
“Still conflicted?” he asked softly. “Because you were before you left, I told you that you were very conflicted about this guy.”
Yes, Zach did say that and it made her angry at the time. But he was right.
“If you don’t want to answer that one, here’s another question. How are you feeling about us, Sabrina?” he looked into her eyes.
“Still conflicted?” he asked.
She nodded.
He continued to look at her. And then running a hand through his hair, he sighed.
“Me too. Do you want me to leave?”
She looked at him. Did she want him to leave? She didn’t like that idea. She wanted to find out what was there between them. She had wrestled with it all weekend and missed him.
“No, Zach. I don’t want you to leave. I would like you to take me home,” she admitted.
“What does that mean Sabrina? Am I your taxi or are we more?” Zach was laying it all out.
She was quiet for a moment.
“I don’t know what it means and I’m not trying to lead you on. I want to explore what is happening with us. I can’t get you out of my head as much as I admonish myself that it’s absurd for us to continue. The reality is, my head isn’t listening. But, I don’t know what the future holds, and I don’t know if it will work… for many reasons,” she admitted honestly.
“But, I would like to see what we have. That is, if you do too.” She put the ball back into his court.
“So, we would be exclusive, right?” he confirmed.
“Yes.”
“I don’t want to share you, Sabrina. I’ve done casual all my life and know how to do that, but I don’t know how to do that with you. I know you weren’t looking for a relationship. I know you are coming off a complicated situation with Troy. I’m not trying to pressure you… but I am. If we are going to give this thing a try, I need to know we are giving it a try and not just fooling around. I feel strongly about you Sabrina. I need it to be all or nothing,” Troy said with a great deal of emotion.
She saw he was very serious. He was right. She needed to land on how she was feeling and move forward. Was she still stuck on Troy? Did it make sense to go back to him? There were so many reasons to do just that.
He watched her struggle through some tough thoughts. But, he couldn’t bend on this. He wasn’t going to compete with her past or her head or another relationship. He thought he was falling in love with her. He would be devastated if she walked away right now. But, he would be miserable if they continued the same way with Troy in the middle of their relationship.
While there were so many reasons to go back to Troy, there was one big one stopping her. She didn’t feel with Troy the passion and excitement she felt with Zach. Wasn’t that what she was missing from her relationship with Troy? Wasn’t that what she was searching for?
Why did it scare her so much then?
Well, Sabrina, she said to herself. Now is the time to call bullshit on your own bullshit for a change. Put up or shut up.
“Zach, I don’t know if we should pursue something with us.”
She saw his face visibly fall and him trying to mask it.
Fuck, he thought.
“But, I don’t know that I can live my life without giving it a try.”
“What? What are you saying Sabrina?” Zach asked trying to tamper his hope.
“I want to give us a try. All in. Just you and me... and see where it lands. See where it takes us,” she said much to his joy.
He walked towards her and scooped her up, swung her around and planted a big ole kiss on her lips.
“You are mine. Do you understand that? You are mine and I want the world to know it and I want you to be clear on it.”
He leaned down, scooped up her bag and threw it over his shoulder. He walked out the door still carrying her. You are my breath, my heart. I’m falling in love with you and I want to make you so happy!” Zach confessed.
Sabrina, laughing said, “Zach put me down!” Truth be told, she was overwhelmed by what he said. She was just sorting through her own feelings, and to hear the level of intensity of his was a little scary. We will have to navigate that as we go, she thought. She hoped neither one of them got hurt in the process.
“So do I have to wear your class ring or letterman jacket or something now that you got all Neanderthal high school romance on me?” she said with a laugh.
“Shush, woman,” and he silenced her with another kiss.
“Zach,” she said.
“Yes?” he replied.
“You still need to put me down!” she said, still laughing.
He confirmed by kissing her, to the sound of honks as they crossed the road to the parking garage.
She just laughed. “You’re an idiot. You know that, right?”
“Yep. Get used to it.”
Chapter 15
He drove her back to her house. He walked around to open her door and then took her bag out of the car. He followed her up the stairs and could hear the dogs at the door.
“Here we go,” she said as she put the key in the lock knowing the scene that was about to unfold.
As she opened the door, the two Great Danes barreled out. They were just about to plow into her when Zach said, “Boys, freeze.”
And with that they stopped.
She looked at him with confusion.
“Sit. Stay…” Zach continued.
And to Sabrina’s amazement, they did.
“What is this?” she asked.
“This… is having well mannered dogs. They were wild around you. Not that I don’t understand it, I am too. But, I was concerned that they were going to hurt you and I couldn’t have that. I worked with them starting in Saratoga and came over every day this week to teach them these commands. We are going to put a squash on them knocking you over,” he said firmly, but with a small smile on his lips.
She didn’t know what to say. For him to be worried about her regarding a simple thing in her life that had nothing to do with him, she was struck. And the dogs were listening so he actually had been successful.
“Zach, I am blown away. This is one of the sweetest things anyone has every done for me.” She walked over to kiss him, deepening it right from the start.
“Well, if this is my treatment when I do things like this, you are training me well,” he said with a smile.
The dogs remained sitting but whined because they truly wanted to get to Sabrina.
She stopped kissing Zach and walked over to them.
“How are my good boys? Look at you. I’m so impressed. You two are so smart!” with that, she gave them each a legitimate hug and kissed them on the heads.
“Let’s go inside everyone,” Zach said opening the door for the whole crew.
They walked to the back through to the kitchen. She stopped and quickly sorted through the mail to see what arrived and he let the dogs out. She was busy engrossed in an envelope when he walked up behind her. He wrapped his arms around her and started kissing the back of her neck. He was thankful for the ponytail that gave access.
“What are you doing?” he asked, continuing to kiss her.
“I was opening mail,” she said with a giggle.
“Not any more,” he said.
“Oh?”
“Oh, is right and a good start,” he said with a smile.
“What am I doing instead?” she asked feigning innocence.
“Let me show you…” he said as he continued to kiss her bare shoulders and he moved his hands down to her thighs and began moving them up and down.
“Ummm…” she murmured.
She pushed her back into him to feel his huge hard on.
“You like that, don’t you?” he asked.
“Ummm…” she agreed.
“For someone who is so eloquent and educated, you seem to have a limited vocabulary,” he said in between kisses.
While continuing, he pushed her skirt up to her waist and ran his hands over her almost bare ass. Thank goodness for thongs, he thought.
Her ass was magnificent. His hard-on became bigger at the sight of it.
“Lean forward,” he said as he gently pushed on her shoulders.
She did as he commanded.
“Baby, I could look at this ass all night,” he said as he moved down and began planting kisses on it.
“Zach…”
She was dripping wet. He was making her wild with his feather kisses.
“Yes baby…” he responded with a deep timber in his voice that she loved.
“You are making me crazy,” she ground out.
“Not yet I’m not,” he said with a smile in his voice.
He reached around the front of her and cupped her sex. It was hot. As he moved the front of her thong to the side, he ran a finger through her pussy.
“Shit…” she let escape her lips.
She dropped her head to the counter.
”Yeah…that’s what I thought…. Sabrina, you have your juices running down your leg you are so turned on.”
“Zach, don’t embarrass me,” she chastised him.
“Oh baby, I’m not embarrassing you. I’m on overload. I don’t know where to start. I’m memorized by what’s in front of me.” Zach could not believe how lucky of a man he was to have this fantastic woman at his side and now, right in front of him, naked.
“Zach, I’m so turned on, help me,” she begged.
“What do you want baby?” he continued to tease.
“I want to come. I want you to fuck me and I want to feel out of this world,” she punched out.
“Oh, sweetheart, I always knew you were brilliant. I didn’t know you were a mind reader too… “and with that, he plunged the finger that was teasing the shit out of her pussy, into her and she lost her breath.
“Fuck…” she said.
“Yep, going to do that too…” he promised.
He leaned back down while he fingered her pussy and alternated between kissing and licking her ass. With his other hand, he gently placed his thumb on her other opening and pressed a little.
She moaned deeply.
He worked his way up to her clit and flicked at it a few times and that was all it took. She came hard. She screamed as she came and he couldn’t wait to get inside her. He unzipped his pants and pulled them down and while she was still recovering, put his head at the entry of her pussy. In a one push, he was in and in heaven.
He’d waited for this moment since she’d left the barn in Saratoga. He’d worried all week that he would never experience her again. This was where he belonged. With her. In her. She was his and he was going to do everything in his power to keep it that way.
His possessiveness came through with each thrust in and out of her. She had to grab the sides of the counter to hold herself still. He ran both of his hands up her back and one around to t
he front to caress her nipple. She was hot and wet and almost ready to explode gain.
He dropped his hand between her and the counter and began rubbing her clit. It didn’t take long before her body shattered with her seeing a thousand lights and pulled him over with her. Feeling her clench his dick with her orgasm kicked him right over the edge. He didn’t have a chance.
