  Acknowledgments

This book has been a long time in the making and there are lots of people who helped this dream become a reality.

First, I want to thank my family for their support and understanding as they’ve sacrificed time together for me to write. My husband’s loyal encouragement has been a major factor in this accomplishment and I couldn’t have done this without him.

Secondly, to the family and friends who have cheered me on and taken the time to read my work, thank you from the bottom of my heart ~ Nicole, Jenny, Erika, Christie, & Amy I love you guys! Next, to a complete stranger turned awesome beta reader, thank you Rebecca, for your time and suggestions. And finally, to the best cover designer out there, Christian of Covers by Christian, your designs are amazing!

  Message to Readers

  Greetings Readers!

As an indie author, YOU are one of my most valuable assets. Reviews on Amazon help other readers choose books and drive potential sales. I am so appreciative of any and all reviews from my readers. Please take the time to rate my book on Amazon!

The trials and tribulations that my characters face are dreamed up in rural southern Missouri, where my family has recently returned to our roots after a decade of living on the coasts. My husband shares his military and weapons expertise with me, while our teenagers unwittingly help with character development. I see nothing wrong with using the roller coaster of teenage emotions we're riding to my benefit! Meanwhile, our three pets are just freeloaders. At least the dogs are lovable; the cat does her best to ensure we believe her presence is a benevolent favor. I truly believe Cats will be the ultimate survivor in an apocalypse!

Fun tidbit: Did you know the odds are pretty high that authors who write post-apocalyptic fiction are, to some extent, preppers themselves? If they aren't before researching this genre, I guarantee they are afterward!

Prepping doesn't always mean building a bunker and stockpiling supplies. Being more prepared might be as simple as having answers for these questions: What will your family do if we have a national emergency or disaster while everyone's scattered at school and work? Does your spouse, children and loved ones know where to meet you? Can they get there without your help?

If you already know the answers to these questions, then you've got an advantage over most of the population! If not, I encourage you to think about them. If someone reading my books has a 'what if' discussion with their family, then I've achieved one of my goals for creating an apocalypse world!

I encourage you to follow my Facebook page and hang out with me and other Bennett Family readers!

Thanks for reading and remember, it’s always better to be prepared than left in the dark!
