“Go change into a dress, Jenna,” Jackson said.
“Jackson, you may not be aware of this, but you’re supposed to be more accommodating of your guests.” Jenna smiled, thinking she had him there.
Leaning down, he placed one hand on the back of her chair, the other on the seat between her legs. He looked into her eyes, his mouth only inches from hers. “I can be accommodating, angel. So, I’m going to give you a choice. You can change into something with a skirt, or I can strip you from the waist down and you can eat dinner with your bare ass on the chair.”
Jenna leaned away from him. “But, I’m your guest.”
“In this house you’re a sub, angel. Now, decide. You change into a skirt or I strip you.”
Looking into his hazel green eyes, she made a quick decision. “I’ll be right back.”
“Excellent. You have two minutes. Every minute you keep me waiting you get a swat.”
“In your dreams, mister.”
Jenna hurried out of the room and up the stairs to her bedroom. She shoved her pants down and grabbed the first skirt her hand touched. For a moment she debated keeping her panties on then shoved them to the floor and stepped out of them. After pulling the short skirt on, she slid her feet into a pair of sandals and rushed from the room.
Out of breath, face pink from hurrying, she dropped back into her chair and began to scoot it forward when Jackson moved behind her and did it for her. Leaning over her, he ran his hand down her waist and hip then sent her an approving grin when he felt the smooth flesh beneath her skirt.
“Good girl,” he told her as he returned to his seat.
“I only did it to avoid a ruckus at the dinner table,” she said, pissed that he would think she left her panties off to please him.
“No matter why you did it, I’m pleased with your behavior.”
“Well, just so you know.” Jenna looked to her right as one of the twins held a platter of fried chicken out to her. Taking the platter, she smiled at him and gave him an apologetic look. Even after all these years she still couldn’t always tell the twins apart. “Thanks…?”
“Logan,” he told her, seeing her dilemma and smiling.
“Logan.” She smiled at him then smiled at Luc and Zane on the other side of the table. She served herself then passed the platter to Jackson.
Jenna took the dishes Logan passed to her, served herself, and then passed them on, being careful not to make eye contact with Jackson. When everyone was served, she glanced down at her plate and grimaced at the amount of food on her plate. She was more used to eating a carton of yogurt or a sandwich on the run. In fact, she couldn’t really remember the last time she had sat down to a meal like this.
“Jenna and I are going shopping tomorrow,” Addison said from her place on Cade’s lap. “Jenna needs some club clothes so she can go to Club Elysium and get her bottom spanked.” Cade patted her hip, and she wiggled against him. “By Jacob Daniels.”
Cade grabbed Addison’s face, turning it his way. “What have I told you about saying that name in my presence, pet?”
Addison’s mouth formed a perfect O as she widened her eyes. “Oh, dear, I guess this means I won’t be needing that wedding dress after all?”
“No, you’re going to need the dress you just may not be able to sit down while you’re wearing it.” He offered her a bite of green beans. “Open.”
Addison opened her mouth, her eyes on Jackson’s end of the table waiting to see his reaction to her words. It wasn’t long in coming.
Jackson glared at Jenna. “There is no fucking way you are going anywhere with Jacob Daniels, angel.”
Jenna ignored him as she glanced at Addison then stirred her fork through the potatoes on her plate. After a moment she looked up and smiled at Zane. “So, Zane, you’re handling the Dalmon case? That must be really interesting.”
Jackson leaned toward Jenna. “Did you hear me, Jenna? You are not going anywhere with Jacob Daniels.”
“It’s going well, Jenna. Lots of pressure but I’m on top of things. Thanks for asking,” Zane said.
“I saw a picture of Ravyn Dalmon in the paper. Is she as beautiful in person as she is in her photos?”
“Actually, she’s exquisite,” Zane said, his voice sounding anything but complimentary.
Jackson put his ice tea down, the glass making a sharp sound as it hit the table. “Eat your dinner, Jenna.”
Jenna ignored Jackson and turned to Luc. “So, Luc, I missed the Masquerade Ball at Club Mystique. Do you have any special events planned for this month?”
“National Underwear Day is tomorrow so we’re celebrating it Saturday night. It’s the only night of the year the subs are encouraged to wear undergarments.”
“Yeah, everyone enjoys the evening. The subs get to dress up in all their lovely bits and pieces and the Doms and Dommes get to watch the show,” Logan added.
“Gosh, that sounds like so much fun.” Jenna looked at Addison. “Maybe Cade could take Ad—”
“Too bad we can’t go,” Addison interrupted her. “Marci’s already sent out the invitations to the lingerie party she’s having Saturday night. I’m buying lingerie for my trousseau.”
“But you have plenty of time to do that. Besides, you can get a better price by purchasing what you want through your shop.” Jenna sat back, telling herself two could play this game as she waited for Addison’s next move.
“But everyone would be so disappointed if we don’t show up.” Addison narrowed her eyes at Jenna. “There’s just no telling what they would do. Maybe something drastic.”
“Man, I never realized you ladies took your lingerie parties so seriously,” Zane said.
“Well, you know how much we ladies love our panties,” Jenna said as she shot Jackson a pissed-off glare.
Addison wiggled on Cade’s lap then gave him a flirty little smile as she ran her finger down his chest. “You don’t mind that I’m busy Saturday night”—leaning toward him, she licked his neck then nipped his ear—“do you, Master?”
Cade’s brows drew together as he gave her a long look. “What are you up to, baby?”
“Nothing. But, if you really wanted to take me to Club Mystique Saturday night I guess I could disappoint Marci. But only for you.” She planted another little kiss under his chin then looked at Jenna. “Jenna and Jackson could go with us.”
Logan and Luc had kept track of the conversation like spectators at a tennis match until Addison had mentioned Jenna’s and Jackson’s names in the same sentence, and then they had caught on to what she was up to. “She’s meddling, Cade.” Looking at Jackson, Logan sent him a sympathetic shake of his head. “You’re doomed, bro. She’s got you and Jenna in her sights.”
“Don’t include me in that,” Jenna said. “Jacob Daniels is more the kind of man I’m looking for than Jackson.”
Luc shook his head, glared at Addison, then told Cade, “Whatever you’re doing it’s not enough to stop her. Have you tried a riding crop?”
“What the hell do you mean by that, Jenna?” Jackson raised his voice, talking over Luc’s voice so she would be able to hear him. “Jacob is a good Dom for some sweet little submissive but he’s not what you need.”
“Maybe the stocks at the club?” Logan suggested, interrupting Jackson. “With a sign above her that says Meddler—”
“And, any Dom who wants to can give her a swat with the leather paddle,” Luc finished for him. “An hour of that would cure her.”
“Luc! Logan! How can you even suggest such a thing?” Addison leaned against Cade with a pout then shook her head at Jenna. “You wouldn’t let a bunch of Doms be mean to me would you, Cade?”
“No, baby. If anyone’s going to be mean to you, and whip your ass with a leather paddle it’s going to be me,” Cade said, his expression completely serious as he watched the action at the other end of the table.
Jenna interrupted them all when she looked into Jackson’s eyes with a bold look of her own. “I meant that you’ve p
roven that you’re the kind of man who plays but never stays.” Sitting back, Jenna crossed her arms over her chest and stared at him, one silky brow arched. “Deny it if you dare.”
All of a sudden the room grew quiet, the younger Ramsey brothers sitting back, their eyes sweeping from Cade and Addison at one end of the table to Jackson and Jenna at the other end.
Addison watched Jackson and Jenna as she waited to see if Jackson would take up the challenge Jenna had just tossed his way. Cade tightened his arm around her waist, warning her to keep quiet.
“Eat your dinner, Jenna,” Jackson said, his voice deep and raspy.
“I’ve lost my appetite.” Jenna dropped her eyes to her plate. Jackson looked seriously pissed off. The cold, hard look in his eyes had stolen her breath and sent a deep rolling spasm of need through her belly and straight to her clit. This was the man she had spent the night with a year ago. This was Jackson in Dom mode, and something in her wanted to stand up and cheer that she had managed to call him out to play. She could almost see the waves of hot arousal shimmering around him. She could definitely smell his scent. Leather and some kind of woodsy cologne and Jackson.
“You’re too thin. Do you care that Addison’s been worrying herself sick over you? Did you even notice today that the tray she prepared for the two of you had all your favorite snacks on it?” Jackson looked at Addison and gave a little nod of his head, letting her know that he would take it from here. “If you won’t or can’t take care of yourself then as long as you’re on my land I’ll do it for you. Starting now. You aren’t leaving this table until you eat half of the food on your plate.”
Shoving her chair back, Jenna began to stand. “Screw you, Jackson.”
Jackson grabbed her chair then pulled her, chair and all, closer to his end of the table. “That’s five more for disrespecting me. That makes fifteen total. Now, eat.”
Jenna crossed her arms over her chest and stared at the edge of the table as Jackson placed her plate in front of her. “We can sit here all night, angel, or you can eat and then I’ll let you go.”
“You have no right to do this, Jackson.”
“My land, my brand, by rules.”
“Fine. I’ll eat but only because I’m hungry, and in three weeks I’ll leave your precious land and you can go to he—”
“Careful, angel. I’m keeping count.”
Jenna looked toward Addison’s end of the table, mouthed, “I’m sorry,” and then picked up her fork and carefully divided the food on her plate into two parts. She took a bite and chewed it while glaring at Jackson.
“Good. Now we can discuss Jacob Daniels,” Jackson told her as soon as he saw her swallow.
“There’s nothing to discuss,” Jenna shot back. “I can see anyone I want, and I choose to see Jacob. He’s going to teach me the D/s lifestyle.” Picking up her glass of tea, she took a small sip then couldn’t resist taunting Jackson. “I’m looking forward to it.”
Jackson sat back, hooking one arm over the back of his chair, his pose deceptively relaxed. “Everything you do while you’re on Ramsey land will have consequences, angel. Not necessarily good ones either, but that’s up to you. Just know, if you play with Jacob then you’ll pay the price with me.”
“Even I know you can’t do anything to me, Jackson. Remember, ‘safe, sane, and consensual’ is the number one rule. You don’t do anything to me without my consent.”
Jackson glanced at her almost empty plate, a grin kicking up the corners of his lips. “I won’t have to force you, angel, and we both know it.”
“Well, Jenna and I have a shopping trip to plan.” Addison slid off Cade’s lap and looked in Jenna’s direction. “We can have dessert later. After we’ve made our plans.”
“Fine with me.” Jenna scooted her chair back and stood up. Looking at Jackson’s younger brothers, she smiled. “Nice seeing you again.”
“What about me?” Jackson asked her, his lips curving into a taunting grin.
“Of course, Jackson. It’s always nice for a girl to be reminded what a narrow escape she’s had in the past.” She pushed her chair forward then followed Addison from the dining room.
Chapter Six
Dressed in a sheer turquoise thong and halter-type camisole with a shelf bra that left the top half of her breasts uncovered, Jenna paced the long hall of Addison’s shop as they waited for Jacob to arrive. She glanced into the back parking lot though the small window in the door and sighed then collapsed against the wall across from Addison. “What are you thinking about?” Jenna asked.
Addison released the lip she had been nibbling on then looked up. “Cade’s reaction,” she said.
“It’s not too late to back out.”
Addison shook her head, her hair catching and trapping the lights in the hallway. “No, this is something that has to be done.”
Shrugging, Jenna grinned. “Okay, but it’s your butt on the line. Literally.”
“Yeah, but he and Jackson shouldn’t have tricked me or involved Maggie.”
“Do you really think they wrote that brochure?”
“They’ll never admit to it but the more I look at it the more I believe it’s a possibility. Something about it bugs me. It’s like it was written from a sub’s and a Dom’s point of view.”
“You mean like maybe a switch? That’s a possibility, but you know it looked like it was a copy of an older paper. Like it had been around for a while.”
“It’s easy to fake things these days. With computers and things like that.”
“That’s true.” Jenna swept her eyes over Addison’s outfit, admiring the yellow lace babydoll nightie and high-cut sheer lace boy shorts that left the bottom curve of her butt bare. She wore matching open toe heels on her feet. Jenna grinned when she saw the feathery puffballs on the top of each shoe. “I’ve never seen you wear yellow before. You look like a marigold.”
“I wanted to make it easy for Cade to find me if the club is crowded.”
“I think you’ve achieved that.” Jenna laughed, and then her smile quickly faded as headlights lit up the back parking lot. “Jacob’s here.”
“Excellent.” Addison pulled her lightweight jacket closed and tied the belt in place. “I’ll set the alarm and lock the door.”
“I can’t believe you’re actually locking the door, much less setting the alarm.” Jenna stepped out onto the back loading dock and waited for Addison, while Jacob walked around and opened the two passenger doors for them.
“Ladies, I hope I’m not late,” Jacob told them as he watched them settle themselves in his car.
“No, just on time.” Jenna swiveled around and watched Addison buckle her seat belt. “Okay, now I’ve seen everything. Who are you and what have you done with my friend?”
“I’ve just decided that it’s irresponsible of me to take unnecessary risks that put me in danger. Besides, Cade worries,” Addison said.
“Are you sure about going tonight?”
Addison nodded her head then bit her lip. “Yeah. It’s for a good cause.”
“I’ll be surprised if they even let you through the front gate.”
“They’ll see Jacob and they won’t care who he has with him,” Addison told her as Jacob opened his door and settled himself behind the wheel.
“You ladies ready?” he asked as he tightened his seat belt, started the car, and backed out of the parking lot.
“Looking forward to it,” Addison told him.
Jenna snorted. “I’m looking forward to seeing you running and trying to hide from Cade in that bright-yellow outfit.”
“If I was you I’d be worrying about what Jackson’s going to do when he sees you with Jacob.” Addison smiled. “Remember what he said, ‘My brand, my land, my rules.’”
“We aren’t at the ranch.”
“No, but Club Mystique is on Ramsey land.” Addison sat back as they reached the entrance to Club Mystique and Jacob keyed in the code and the gates swung open.
“Dammit, Addison, wha
t are you up to?” Jenna asked.
“Just trying to help you out. Trust me.”
“I hate it when you say that.”
Jacob laughed then put the car in park as he pulled up to the valet booth. “Too late to worry about that now. We’re here.”
Jenna stepped from the car and stood by Addison as they waited for Jacob to join them.
“Here we go, ladies.” Placing his hand on their lower backs, he escorted them toward the open doors at the far end of the path. “Addison, I suggest you ask for a club collar then stay close to me and Jenna until Cade arrives.”
“What about me?” Jenna asked.
“I have a temporary collar for you.” Jacob nodded to the guard as they stepped through the door. Pulling Jenna to a stop, he smiled into her eyes as he fastened the slender white ribbon around her neck. It had a medallion on it with his initials. Stepping back, he examined her. “You look really beautiful tonight, Jenna.”
“Thank you, Sir.” Smiling, Jenna felt her own excitement increasing. Jacob was a very good-looking man. Tall and muscled with long brown hair he tied back with a leather cord and the sweetest brown eyes she’d ever seen. Maybe too sweet.
“Let’s get Addison a collar and bracelet.” He moved her toward the receptionist’s desk where Addison stood talking to a petite blonde.
Turning, Addison waved toward the receptionist. “Jenna, this is Carly.”
“Hi, Carly. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you, too, Jenna.”
Addison held out her wrist and Carly giggled and handed her a soft white bracelet.
“These are new,” Addison said, examining the hi-tech soft plastic band around her wrist with its glowing row of white LED lights.
“We just started using them this week. There’s all these little colored lights I can slide into place on the band.” She pointed to several canisters of different colored LED dots. Picking one up, Carly showed it to Addison. “I just peel the backing off and slide it into one of the slots on the band and it glows in the dark. We’re still using the same color code.”
