10 SITES THAT PAY FOR CREATIVE WRITING
There are several sites that will pay very good money for short stories, poetry and other types of creative writing. Some of our favorites include:
#1 - AGNI
AGNI is Boston University's literary magazine. They will pay you for critical essays, short contemporary fiction and poetry.
You can only submit from September to May each year.
Expect to earn $20 per each page of poetry and $10 per every printed page of fiction. You will also get a free year's subscription to the magazine.

#2 - BWR
The graduate English department magazine for the U of Alabama, Black Warrior Review is published twice a year.
While they look for contemporary fiction, futuristic stories and magical realism are encouraged, as long as the stories push boundaries and encourage deep thought.
Expect to earn a nice lump sum for a published story, although the exact amount isn't something they typically publicize.

#3 - Boulevard
This award-winning journal pay for contemporary short stories, essays and poetry.
It particularly likes new, unpublished writers over accomplished writers who have already been published.
Although it doesn’t accept genre fiction, Boulevard will pay from $25 to$250 for poetry and $100 to $300 for good prose.

Carve will pay $100 per short story for its website. It also has a print magazine that will publish nonfiction, poetry and illustrations.
Editors often take the time to respond to submissions with polite, thoughtful editorial critiques.
Carve only publishes quality literary fiction, so don't submit genre fiction, such as horror, thrillers, fantasy, sci-fi, romance, etc.)
