HIGHLANDER ROMANCE: For a Highland Warrior's Eyes (Medieval Scottish Warrior Romance) (Medieval Historical Short Stories Young Adult) Page 2

Eric thoroughly enjoyed pleasing me. I was sure of that. He put the tip of his tongue inside me and used his thumb to massage my rose bud. He gently did this, and then it escalated faster and with more pressure. I cried out, but quickly remembered we were in a camp with our men. I bit my lip and put my hands in his hair. I couldn’t hold on any longer and I came into his mouth. I collapsed onto my back. I couldn’t hold my own weight upright as my entire body tingled. I stayed like this with Eric resting his head on my belly. We were quiet and soaked in the sounds of the moors at night. Then he reached down and lifted up his kilt and exposed his cock to me. My mouth opened instinctively. I don’t know what caused me to do this, but I stopped him from entering me. Then I trailed kisses up his strong thighs and let my head go under his blue and green kilt. I wrapped my hand around his cock and placed the tip of it softly in my mouth. I swirled my tongue around the tip and Eric groaned and grunted like an animal. I wanted to this since the first time I saw his cock. I wanted to do to him what he had done to me. I slid his cock further into my mouth and then out again. I did this over and over and Eric moaned louder and louder so I felt like I was doing it right. Then he finally stopped me.

“I can not take it anymore. I need to be inside you. I am going to release right now if I don’t.”

I smiled up at him and laid down on my back. He positioned himself between my thighs and lifted his kilt then pushed his cock inside me. His cock went deep inside me and filled me, and then he pulled out and used short motions in and out. I screamed loudly with this movement. I no longer cared if anyone heard me. I was lost in the moment. Eric braced himself against my shoulder and buried his face against my neck as he moved his hips forward and back faster and in shorter motions. I felt the build up inside of me. My body tensed and then released as I exploded into orgasmic pleasure. Then Eric released and the warm liquid flowed within me again. He collapsed on top of me and this is how we slept until the birds of the moors woke us in the morning with their loud calls.

  CHAPTER TWO

The next morning we packed up our temporary camp. We had an hour to spare while the food was prepared. After spending our time on the moor we set out to explore. We found a path that led into a small patch of forest. Here something unexpected happened. As we walked along deeper into the thick of it, the towering trees exposed their secret. There were millions of butterflies. Millions or more of them! It seems that during the fall and into the first months of the year, millions of butterflies gather in this forest on a yearly basis. I was frozen solid with disbelief. I couldn’t believe it. I looked over at Eric. He was so happy and was lit up like the sun. I soaked it all in, as it brought tears to my eyes. He came over to me and grabbed my hand. “Agatha, I love you. I’m in love with you,” Eric said.

“I knew when I first met you, you were it. I wanted to be with you, but I knew what that meant for the clan and felt guilty that I was finding love and comfort in you, when I should have been thinking of the overall happiness of our people. You are the same as me, we are the same and I don’t want to lose you ever.”

I threw my arms around Eric and relished in his beautiful words in these beautiful surroundings. It was magical and the moors were always said to be a magical place with the mysterious fog and element of water in the ground. We kissed and touched surrounded by this magic. Then we heard the men shouting for us. We promised to return to this spot some day soon. It was too magical not too. We reached the campsite and the men had food laid out on a blanket for us. We all sat and ate and discussed what could possibly happen when we arrived at our village. I explained my father’s pride and my brother’s arrogance and heated ways. When we were done we mounted the horses and then made the slow journey across the wet moors of Scotland. There was only a little bit of fog so it wasn’t as hard as it could have been. The sounds of the moor were vibrant with birds and the chirping of insects. Fireflies glowed blue and orange here and there making it seem like the most enchanted place. This was the entrance to my village. It was the village that housed the Ayle clan, my clan. The wind whirled and howled around us. It was a sound that meant home to me. The men carried a white banner that whipped in the breeze to signify they came in piece. As the castle came into sight I unwrapped my cloak so that my brown and white patterned dress could be seen by anyone on watch. Soon I could hear the bells ringing from the castle and across the moors. I looked at Eric for reassurance. He nodded and smiled at me. As we got closer the gates opened and my brother Bren galloped out on a horse.

“That is my brother Bren,” he will have some insulting things to say but if you men will just let it slide off of you it will be okay.

“Do as your princess says men. I picked you because you are strong and brave warriors, but also because you are men that know how to remain cool in heated situations. You are smart and know when a fight can be avoided. The peace of our clans relies on our temperaments, therefore remain calm even if he spits on you or punches you. Do nothing.”

The men sounded their understanding of the situation.

Bren approached and looked at the white flag and then looked at me on my own horse and untied.

“What is this then? You torture and use my sister, our princess, and then return her!” Bren yelled at the men.

“I am Eric of the Dunluth clan. No harm has come to your sister. The report you received was false, sent by my brother to ignite a war. He now sits in our prison because of his treachery,” Eric said.

Bren looked at him shooting daggers with his eyes and yelled, “Lies!”

“It is true Bren. I have not been hurt. I have married this man of my own free will. I love him. Please calm and take us to father and mother. I wish to speak to him. These men mean no harm.”

Bren looked at me and a look of sorrow crossed his face briefly, then he turned his horse toward the castle. We followed him across the moor and into the gates of the castle. Everyone looked on with hatred in their eyes. It was such a difference from how I was greeted amongst the Dunluth. However these men did steal their princess from her very own bed in the middle of the night, which made them out to be monsters. We rode through the village and up to the castle entrance. Bren dismounted and then we dismounted. We followed him into the castle. It felt good to be home.

“Agatha!” my mother cried out as she ran to me once we were inside. I ran to her and embraced her.

“Are you hurt my sweet princess? I thought you were dead!” she yelled.

“No, I am not hurt at all mother. I am well. I am happy,” I said with a smile on my face.

She looked at me puzzled and then at Eric and the men. Then my father spoke up with hate in his voice, “Tell me why I should not strike you down this minute? How dare you steal my daughter from her own bed!”

“I understand your anger and I apologize for the offense. It was done with good reason. A reason that could bring peace to our clans for eternity if you will allow it,” Eric said.

“There will be no peace after this offense. We have gathered all our men and ready to raid your village and bring my sister home. We are primed for war!” Bren yelled.

“Brother! Father please allow me to speak. It is important please,” I pleaded.

My father took a deep breath and nodded yes.

“If everyone will sit please. I feel that you are on the edge of jumping on these men and it is unsettling. Please just let me speak.”

Eric and the Dunluth men were the first to sit to show they meant no harm, and then my father and mother followed. My brother however just leaned against the wall, still in anger.

“Thank you. Where to begin… I am the first to say that taking me from my bed was wrong. It was done in a bad way. However I see now that it was a necessary step. This man Eric, is the leader of the Dunluth and he is the strongest and bravest warrior I have ever seen. He is calm and just and rules his people with fairness and love. When he told me of his plan I was in disbelief, however he did not force the plan on me, I had a choice. I have been tre
ated with nothing but kindness by the Dunluth people and by this man. Their people are no different than ours, and I know that the fighting and raiding is due to one clan attacking the other clan, and then that clan attacking in return. It has been that way for hundreds of years. I know this, but I do not think that it has to be this way forever. I think we could at least try a new way, a way for peace. If it does not work you can always go back to killing each other if that what pleases you, but I hope it is not. Father and mother, you raised me to be a caring and just person. I feel that I have made the right decision. I have married this man in hopes that it will unite our clans in peace. Our offspring will be Ayle and Dunluth. Through them a chance at peace.”

I finished my speech and the hall was quiet as everyone was in disbelief that I had married a Dunluth man, the Scottish warrior leader. My father stared at Eric, but my mother looked at me with love in her eyes. I continued talking, “What’s more is that I have fallen in love with this man. This is a real marriage. I was not forced into anything. It was easy for me because my heart belongs to him, and I wanted to try this out in a path to peace. For me it is better than constantly attacking each other. However the Ayle people must also want it and honor our marriage and children. I only ask that you think about it a while before making hasting assumptions and decisions. Now we have travelled far and I am hungry. Father, are we welcome to stay while you make your decision?”

The hall was silent as everyone waited for an answer. Then he finally spoke us, “You and your men may stay and supper with us. No harm will come to you under the white flag of peace. You shall have warm beds. As to whether I let you leave here with my daughter tomorrow I have not decided.”

I sighed in resignation. One step at a time I suppose. We all sat in the hall while food was brought out by the trey full. Roasted pork on a spick was carried in and placed over the hearth while the carvers served it into serving dishes. Eric’s men where given plenty to eat and drink. I sat next to Eric lavishing him with affection so that all may see we truly were in love. Everyone drank and ate in celebration of the return of the Ayle princess.

During the feasting I went to sit by my mother’s side as she sat upon the throne chairs. I gave here a big hug. “Mother I missed you so much. A lot has happened that I would want to talk to a woman about.”

She grabbed my chin and cupped it in her hand and looked lovingly into my eyes and said, “I can tell you are no longer a maid. You glow with love. I am happy if you are happy.”

“Oh mother I am truly happy. Eric is such a man unlike any other I have ever met. It is meant to be, I can feel it and he’s ten times better than any of the old frogs father would have me take as a husband.”

We both laughed out loud at this, which caught my father’s attention. I hoped that he was coming around. I watched as he watched Eric and his men.

Later that night after the feasting we retired to our rooms. Since Eric was not yet approved of as my husband he had to sleep in separate chambers, which killed me. I longed for his presence in my bed. I looked around my and remembered that night when Eric came to take me. It had been less than two weeks ago, yet it felt like a lifetime. I looked around my room replaying the events in my head. How I thought the candles burning in my window had aided in their raid, but now I know that thought was wrong. I remembered what Eric looked like when he burst through my door with a fire burning in him. It was an image that burned in my mind and I knew then and there that he was special and that I had undeniable lust for him. I stood there pacing back and forth across the room wondering how I could get my father to agree to try our experiment. Then it hit me, I’ll just talk to him, but with out the crowds. We just needed to have a father to daughter talk.

I walked out of my chambers and down the stairs to my parent’s chamber and knocked on the door, “It’s Agatha. May I come in?”

  “Come in!” my mother yelled.

I walked in to find them sitting near the fire. I said nothing but sat on the floor in front of them, feeling like their little girl once more. We sat in silence for almost a half hour just enjoying the company. I had missed them, even though I had not been gone long. I felt guilty that they had been in severe stress this whole time because my letter was never received. I could only imagine the anguish they had gone through thinking the worst.

“Father, mother, Eric has a brother named Erin. He is very mischievous and his way is the way of war. He is the one that led the raid two years ago after we had not had raids for a long while. He did it against his father’s wishes. He has a hot head a lot like Bren. Always ready to fight instead of talk. After I was captured, and I realized that the Dunluth were treating me as an honored guest, I did send a rider out with a letter to you in my own hand. However, the older brother, Erin intercepted it and destroyed it and wrote a letter of his own with lies about torture and such. I am sorry if you have suffered because that letter was not delivered and another was in its place. However, father you did tell me that there are always bad seeds, but one bad seed does not make the whole crop bad. Erin is that bad seed and he is dangerous. Eric is not like that. He is a fierce warrior yes, but only when called for. He has a head for justice and fairness and wants nothing more than to have peace between the clans. I trust him. I trust him with my life. Peace is new to us and I don’t doubt there will be trouble along the way, but we must not ignite a fire when one bad seed decides to try to start a war. Communication is key and having an Ayle in Dunluth married to its leader can ensure that happens. At least that is how I see it. I hope you will too. If you would allow me too, you would be giving me to a man that I love and admire. A true Scottish warrior that is worthy of me, and I will be able to come visit as much as I’d like and of course you are welcome there too if it does not cause too much outrage. Just know that I am happy in this choice of husband and if it brings peace than that is even better.”

“Well said daughter,” my mother said as she kissed the top of my head. “I believe you.”

Then she looked at father who was silent for a long time. Finally he spoke up and said, “I will allow it. This plan for peace, it has worked amongst other clans. We can try it, and as you said go back to killing if it doesn’t work. We will be no worse off then we are now,” he laughed.

I jumped into his arms and kissed him on the cheek thanking him over and over.

The next day I was permitted to leave with Eric. My father made a grand announcement about what we were trying to accomplish, peace and the crowds cheered. It seemed all clans wanted the same thing.

We crossed the moors back in the direction we came. When we came to the edge it was still daylight so we pressed on. Eric thought we should camp at another spot near a fresh water creek. We set up camp at sunset near the creek. I walked off down the creek bank into the woods to wash up. I splashed the cool creek water on my face. Then I felt something sharp on my neck.

“Scream and this blade goes right through your neck,” the deep voice said.

I gasped at the sudden attack. Then I heard Eric’s voice yell, “Erin let her go!”

I breathed hard as I realized that Erin was the one holding a knife to my throat. I panicked and felt lightheaded.

“Don’t come any further or I will kill her! What better way to ensure a war between clans then to kill the princess and blame it on you!” he yelled.

Eric stopped moving and put his hands up in the air. He was too far away to do anything to Erin. Soon Eric’s men were at his side with swords drawn.

“Tell them swords down!” Erin yelled.

“Do as he says,” Eric said.

The men laid down their swords and then listened closely to Erin’s next words.

“You tie up Eric and the others against that tree. Tie them tight. Don’t think I don’t know a loose knot when I see it.

The man tied up Eric and the other men and then was instructed to lay in the dirt. Erin walked with me with the knife still held at my neck. There was a boat hidden in the trees and he forced me t
o get in. Then he jumped in and pushed it out into the water. I could hear Eric yelling for me and then shouting orders to the men. Within seconds the creek became a fast rushing river with high rapids and high rock walls. There was no way for the men to follow it on horseback.

“Erin are you out of your mind? What are you doing? Why are you doing this? You will ruin everything!”

But he said nothing. Instead he concentrated on paddling through the dangerous rapids. He maneuvered the boat with skill and ease. He was an expert Scottish warrior just like his brother. I got a better look at him and he and Eric could almost be twins they looked so much alike. It made me ache for Eric already. Now I didn’t know if I would ever see him again because this man was bent on starting a war, even if it meant killing me.

I held on tight to the boat not knowing what the hell was going on.

A half hour later we were slowed down to a smooth slow stream. I felt sick to my stomach and hurled over the side of the boat. I didn’t know if it was the activity and up and down of the rapids that was making my stomach turn or something else. Then Erin steered the boat in another direction down a narrow branch of the river and into a cave on the side of a cliff.

“What is this? Where are you taking me?” I said in fear.

“Just be calm. Don’t try to run. You will be lost in the cold as we’re miles from anything,” he said.

His tone was suddenly pleasant and he wasn’t as harsh as he had been, it was very confusing. He pushed the boat onto the bank of the creek and then held his hand out to help me out of the boat. I took his hand and walked onto the bank.

  “Wait here,” he said.

He walked off and I could see sparks as he ignited a fire in the corner. Then he took a torch and lit all the torches in the cave. It was beautiful. The cave was turned into a home of sorts with all the needs and comforts you could imagine. There was a comfy bed in the far corner and tables and chairs. I was astounded by it. It was like an underground castle with a stream running through it.
