The first thing Tom saw was B’Elanna. It was the best sight he had ever seen. “Hey,” he said.
She smiled. “Hey, yourself.”
Xara jumped in their conversation as well. “Rune you’re okay!” she said and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“Yeah,” he told her. “I’m just fine.”
Doc then interrupted their conversation. “Well, Mr. Paris, it seems that you’ve managed to evade death once again. Now if everyone would leave, Tom is still very weak, he needs to get his rest.”
B’Elanna shot the EMH a look but new that the Doc was right. Tom was alright now so she could leave.
Xara gave Tom one last hug. “I’ll be back tomorrow,” she told him.
He nodded. “I’ll wait for you then Squeaker.”
“I’ll take good care of her.” B’Elanna told him. She then made her way to leave.
He grabbed the end of her sleeve before she left. “I have to talk to you. Tomorrow.” he told her. Despite all his will to speak with her now, he realized that he was still very weak.
She nodded. “I’ll be back tomorrow.” she told him and then left.
Within a few minutes, Tom had fallen asleep.
The next morning Tom had left sickbay despite all the doctor’s insistence that he stay.
He was walking down the corridors to B’Elanna’s quarters. It was still very early. He wondered if she was even up yet.
Once he got to the door, he took a few deep breaths before he entered and then chimed the door to her quarters.
Torres was at the door within less than a minute. She was already dressed in her uniform and by all appearances, had been awake for some time.
“Tom,” she said. “What are you doing out of sickbay so early?”
He just smiled in response to her question. “Could I come in?”
She stepped out of the doorway and let him come in. She was puzzled by his behavior but said nothing.
Once he was inside, he stood in the center of the room. After a few moments, he began to speak. “I had to talk to you.”
She walked over to him. “Yes,” she said. “What is it?”
Xara was sleeping in the other room, so he kept his voice down. He ran a hand through his hair as he began. “You know I’ve been recovering some of my memories,” he told her.
She nodded. She didn’t want her hopes to get too high, but she couldn’t help but think that maybe he remembered her, maybe he remembered them.
He looked to the ground. “I can’t say that I ever will remember the first time we met, or much of any of the time we spent together.”
She felt her throat constrict as her hopes were dashed. “I understand.” she said. “I mean you might never remember any of our past together, and you and Aria were....”
She was cut off as Paris brought a finger to her lips. “Let me finish first. I might never remember any more of my past,” he told her. She looked down at the floor as her mood became even more despondent, “but I do remember some of it. And I know one thing. I know that I have deeper feelings for you than anyone else I have ever known.” He paused for a second. “I know that I love you.”
She brought her eyes up to his. She couldn’t believe what she had just heard. *Did he really say that?* she wondered.
Her eyes brimmed with tears of happiness. “Tom, I love you....”
She was cut off yet again as his lips sought refuge in hers. Their bodies seemed to melt together as they deepened their kiss.
She wrapped a hand around his neck and pulled him closer. She had been longing for this for so, so long.
The warmth, the passion, they all came back to him at once. He had never felt so at peace before in his life. It was like all time
had stopped as the two lovers were reunited in this age old bond.
Xara silently emerged from her quarters to see the Tom and B’Elanna wrapped in one another’s arms. They seemed so perfect for each other and so happy together too.
She smiled to herself as she quietly returned to bed. They need to have time to themselves now.
The End of Part Five
Thank all of you for your patience. I realize that this one took a bit of time to get done, but I hope it was worth it. I have been so busy with real life lately as well as trying to learn how to improve my homepage.
There are only two more parts left now. Parts Six and Seven should probably be put together, but that would be too long, so I’m going to separate them. The next part should be up in approximately two to three weeks.
I’m also going to be doing some site renovation so you might want to check back every now and then
Well that’s it for me. And remember, I love email. So please write me any response you might have. That’s it for me.
Until next time
