Endpaper image: This color-enhanced view of the Eta Carinae nebula covers an area fifty light-years across. It was assembled from forty-eight images obtained by Hubble’s Advanced Camera for Surveys in 2005. The colors represent different elements: sulfur (red), hydrogen (green), and oxygen (blue). The nebula is a large cloud of dust and gas, with a mix of hot, young stars, dying stars, and regions of starbirth.
