  About the Author

  Pat Butcher is athletics correspondent for the Financial Times. He has made two television documentaries, Arabian Knight, the Enigma of Saïd Aouita and Race for Kenya, an exploration of the genetic and cultural reasons for East African running success. He once ran a mile in 4 min. 09.4 sec.
