Iron: The Coast book 8 Page 23

by Hart, Eve R.

We paused briefly at the door to her playroom. With a look, she told me to stay. I watched as she went in, took something off of the far wall, and came back out.

We walked on until we reached the end of the hall.

The door opened and my eyes darted around, greedily taking in the expansive bedroom in front of me.

Everything was perfect and pristine. Though, that didn’t surprise me.

However, I was surprised at how simple it was.

In the middle of the opposite wall sat a bed, the coverings mostly white with blood red roses sporadically painted on. The two white bedside tables on either side had gold embellishments. Same as the wide dresser along the left wall and the vanity on the right one.

There was a sitting area in the corner with a plush chair and a tall lamp beside it.

I had a hard time picturing Petra sitting in it. I couldn’t imagine she stayed still that long, especially if she wasn’t in her office.

Her hand fell away from mine as she continued on to the bed.

I waited for her commands because I wasn’t really sure how I needed her right now, but they never came.

She crawled onto the middle of the bed, the bottom of her dress riding up just enough to show me the lace at the top of her stocking and the tips of the garter holding them up.

She turned around, her back resting against the sturdy headboard, and held out her hands.

I blinked as I looked at the dangling pair of leather cuffs. Then my eyes slid to hers questioningly.

The look in her eyes said everything I needed to know.

Petra was giving me the control.

I didn’t feel like I had to take it from her. I didn’t have to fight her for it. I didn’t even have to ask.

I kicked out of my boots and took my socks off before I made my way to the bed. As I moved over her body to grab the cuffs, her legs parted allowing me to get closer.

Setting the cuffs to the side for a moment, my hands ran up the bare part of her thighs. Her back arched and her body wiggled as I slowly pushed the dress up, exposing her creamy skin one inch at a time. My lips met the valley between her plump breasts that were still surrounded by black lace. She leaned forward, giving me enough room to slip my hand behind her. I wasted no time releasing the clasp at the middle of her back.

Her arms went up as I pulled the dress and bra away from her body.

My hands cupped her ass as I slid her down the bed until her head rested on the mound of pillows.

Her ice blue eyes were almost warm as she looked up at me.

Reaching for the cuffs, I searched for any sign that she wanted to resist.

I was surprised when I didn’t find any hesitation or regret.

Her hands went up as I looped the cuffs through the spaces in the headboard. I held her eyes as I secured them around each wrist. Her lips went up at the corners as she tested how well I’d done them.

I kissed my way down her body, taking a long moment to suck her pebbled nipples.

Her eyes were on mine as I unclipped the strings from the band of her stockings. The garter belt and panties easily slid down her legs as I pulled them off.

I wanted to burn this image into my mind.

Sitting back on my haunches, I took in every inch of her body splayed out in front of me.

Stepping off the end of the bed, I removed my clothes one piece at a time.

This moment was perfect except for one thing.

She was giving me every ounce of her trust.

And I was an asshole by taking it.

Because as I crawled in between her parted thighs, I was lying to her.

Not directly, no. But a lie of omission is still a lie.

  I knew she’d hate me.

And I hated myself for being selfish just this once. I needed her, even knowing it was probably the last time I’d ever get her. Because I had no doubt that she’d never look at me the same once she found out what I had planned. It wasn’t simply about what I was going to do, it was about denying her the chance to be a part of it. I knew taking away her right to keep her people safe would be something she wouldn’t forgive.

She gasped as I slid inside her with one long, smooth stroke. My hips worked with a steady slow rhythm. She clenched me tight as her legs went around my waist.

When the look in her eyes turned to pleading, I slowed down, rolling my hips every time I planted myself in deep. Her nearing orgasm slipped away and a whimper rolled out of her mouth.

I was going to take my time with her because I was sure it would be the last.

Again and again, I brought her to the edge only to take it away.

When I knew I couldn’t hold back any longer, I started pounding into her with punishing thrusts. Her eyes were wide as she greedily took everything I was giving her.

One at a time, I reached behind me, wrapping my hands around her tall, pointy heels. Her body folded as I pushed her legs up so that I could fuck her deeper.

“Iron.” Her voice was hoarse as she said my name.

My balls slapped against her ass as I gave it to her harder. Her body shook and her arms pulled against the restraints holding them above her head.

Her long moans filled the room, echoing out with desperation. She was close to coming and this time I was going to let her.

“That’s it, Pet,” I said, my voice sounding strained even to my own ears. “Come for me. Soak my cock, let me know how much you love it.”

The moment my words hit her ears, she clamped down hard on my cock. I forced myself to keep thrusting into her as she came. And a few strokes later, I followed behind her, pumping everything I had into her quivering pussy.

I released her legs as she went limp on the bed. My big hands splayed wide on her thighs as I held her open. My gaze went down to where we were connected, taking in every little detail about this moment. My eyes stayed on the image even as I pulled my softening cock away.

Her soft sigh caught my attention and as I raised my eyes, I could almost see the shadow of a smile on her face. Her lids were closed and her whole body relaxed.

Leaning over her, I released the cuffs and took a long moment to tenderly rub her wrists. Though they were softly lined, I knew she’d still be sore from pulling against them like she had.

Then I removed her shoes and stockings, tossing them over the side of the bed. She was half asleep as I moved her under the covers.

“You’re staying,” she stated clearly as I tucked her in.

I stood there for a long moment at the side of the bed. Looking down at her, I knew she would have the biggest piece of me. It would always be hers, no matter what happened. I wasn’t even sorry about it.

I never thought I could love someone the way I loved her.

And I never thought she would let me.

“Iron?” she whispered after I hadn’t moved for a long moment.

“I’m here, Pet,” I said sliding into the bed and wrapping her in my arms. “I’m right here.”

I ran my hand over her hair until her breathing became deep and even. I let myself stay a little longer feeling the weight of her body against me.

Then, when I knew she wouldn’t wake, I slipped out of the bed and redressed.

With one last look, I burned this moment into my memory.

Each step I took away from her felt like I was ripping my soul apart. I could only pray that she’d forgive me but I was never good about having faith.

It was time to take care of business.

It was time to make sure my club and my woman stayed safe.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

  Petra

I took in a deep breath and kept my eyes closed.

I knew the bed beside me was empty without having to look.

Still, my hand reached out to feel the cold, wrinkled sheets.

If he were here, I would have felt him against me. Every time I spent the night in his bed it had been that way and there was no reason for this to be different. Even if it was the
first time I’d let him into mine.

I realized that sometimes it was hard for me to read people when emotions were involved. However, that wasn’t the case last night. Iron had never needed me before. I had always been the one that needed him. Deep down I knew that, even if I had a hard time admitting it to myself.

There were things he was deliberately keeping from me. Normally, I would have said something because I never did see the point in hiding things. It only made problems bigger. But seeing his soul being torn in two had stopped me from opening my mouth.

If I wasn’t mistaken, I saw a finality in his eyes when he fucked me.

  It bothered me, it did.

But it was something I was going to have to deal with later.

Opening my eyes, I sat up and rolled the stiffness out of my body. I could still feel his touch on me like he was right there.

My legs slid off the edge of the bed and I slowly pushed myself up until I was standing.

Bending down, I picked up my shoes and went to put them neatly away in the closet.

Then I went to get ready for what was ahead.

“Did you tell him?” Garen asked as I walked into my living room. He was casually sitting on the couch, one leg resting on the other and a cup of coffee in his hand.

“No,” I answered as I made my way to the elevator. “Why would I?”

With a deep, disappointed sigh, he got to his feet and followed me inside the elevator.

My question wasn’t one that I wanted an answer to. My tone was sharp and Garen knew well enough by now that I didn’t want to hear what he thought on the matter.

Thanks to Rowan, we were able to have a private jet take us where we needed. I wasn’t one for thank yous, but I owed her husband one.

There was a car waiting for us when we landed and I drove us the two hours to our destination.

“Are you sure about this?” Garen asked me as I parked around the back of the small, ugly, brown building.

I cut my eyes over to him and he gave me a nod that let me know he understood me.

The car was so close to the building that Garen had to crawl over and get out of the driver’s side

“You could have let me out before you did that,” he mumbled under his breath.

He pulled out his gun as we walked around the building to the front door.

The world was dark around us and there was no one around.

The town had a small population and most of the homes were spread out. The little sheriff’s office was set in the middle of everything. The only other buildings around were a family restaurant, a grocery store, and a gas station that looked like it was about to fall down. And all of them were shut down for the day.

The bell above the door jingled as I stepped inside. I knew it wouldn’t be long before one or more of the men would come running out of the back to check who it was.

Midori had given me the information I needed. She slyly asked her sister questions to make sure that nothing had changed over the years she’d been gone.

I had to say that Midori was smart once she snapped out of her shock. She even made her laugh seem genuine when she asked Amy if the men still played poker on Friday nights in the back of the sheriff’s office like it was such a ridiculous thing that she found it funny.

I knew what I was walking into.

I knew how many men I was up against.

And they were all the ones I needed to make my point to.

Two men came running out, both of them fighting to get through the doorway first. It was hard not to roll my eyes at the scene.

“Don’t fucking move,” Garen said as he rushed toward them with his gun raised.

Both men went deathly pale as their hands shot up into the air.

Garen quickly removed their bulky utility belts, rendering them even more useless. Then he slid out both sets of cuffs with one hand.

“Walk,” he told them keeping a good distance away.

Shaking, they turned around and walked into the back with Garen right behind.

“What the fuck!” I heard a second later.

My heels clicked against the cheap tile as I made myself known.

The sheriff made a run for the back door. It popped open a foot before flying back at his face. He fell back on his butt not expecting it to be blocked.

It was hard to hold my smirk back.

Garen secured all four of the men and I wasn’t surprised that he’d done it so quickly.

“Who the fuck are you?” the man wearing a cheap suit snarled at me.

“Petra Novak,” I said with a flat tone. “I assume you’re William Sampson.” His mouth snapped shut and his nostrils flared in anger.

My eyes darted to each of the other men as I pointedly said their names. This way they knew I was here for a purpose and that I knew exactly who they were.

My eyes moved to the cell in the back corner. A woman that I assumed was Midori and Amy’s mother was sitting on the cheap cot bed, shaking in fear. Seeing her eyes, there was no denying the family resemblance.

Her hair was dirty and matted to her head. Just the same for the rest of her. I wondered if they’d even allowed her to bathe the entire time she’d been held here.

Garen read my face and yanked the keys off of one of the men. Going to the cell, he let the woman out, telling her that we had her daughters and to go wait in the car out back.

She met my eyes and there was a smile playing on her lips as if she knew what I’d come here to do and she approved.

Then she scurried out of the room. I didn’t move until I heard the sound of the bell over the front door.

“Look, I don’t know who the hell you are, lady, or why you’re here,” William said with rage in his tone.

“I’m the woman that is going to put you in your place,” I said as I walked over to him. I reached for my razor, sliding the blade free with ease. “You came for one of my girls. She doesn’t belong to any one of you. And I will do anything to keep her safe.”

With the rounded tip of my razor, I forced his chin up until he had no choice but to stare directly into my eyes.

“Do you know what I do to men that like to rape little girls?”

He must have seen the coldness in my eyes because he kept his mouth shut. Maybe he was smarter than I gave him credit for.

“They’re married, you can’t rape your wife,” the young deputy said.

“Shut up Teddy!” his father spat out.

“Is that so? And a fourteen-year-old girl asked for it, I suppose? She wasn’t brainwashed into believing that was what she was meant to do?” Garen’s anger was clear in his tone and I wondered if this was maybe too much for him.

His eyes met mine and he quickly regained his composure.

He and I both heard the faint rumble in the distance. With nothing around and the town being quiet, I imagined the sound echoed making it seem closer than one might think.

However, it was clear that I’d run out of time.

“Who else knows where Emily is?” I asked as I pushed the rounded end into his skin.

“No one,” he told me through gritted teeth.

It was clear in his eyes that he regretted that now, so I knew he was telling the truth.

There was no need to drag this out any longer.

I nodded my head as I took a step back. My eyes stayed on William to watch the fear rise in his eyes.

A shot rang out and I didn’t even flinch.

One of the men started screaming, begging for God to save his life, offering me anything to let him go.

I didn’t bother opening my mouth to tell him that nothing could save him now.

Another loud pop and the second deputy went limp in his chair.

The third shot had the sheriff dead where he sat. Blood splattered all over William as the bullet tore through the sheriff’s skull.

I felt Garen move to stand right behind me. He knew the man was mine.

William was now shaking so hard his teeth were chatte
ring loudly.

I held no sympathy for him.

His eyes now filled with fearful tears. He knew he was going to meet his maker and my guess, he hadn’t been good enough to take the elevator up.

The sound of his urine running off the edge of the chair hit my ears the same time the smell wafted into my nose. Garen shuffled back a step but I didn’t move.

With one quick swipe, I slit his throat with the razor blade.

My head turned to the side when I felt the wet sticky blood slap my face.

I should have made them suffer. That was my only regret as I stood there taking the four bodies in with my chest rising and falling heavily with every breath.

“This is a new suit,” Garen said as he looked down to see the blood that speckled his jacket and shirt.

He handed me a handkerchief he had in his pocket as I closed my blade. I wiped the blood away from my face as best as I could before wrapping the fabric around my blade.

“I’ll buy you a new one,” I told him as I slid the wrapped razor into the front pocket of his jacket.

  “Now what?” he asked.

The loud, thunderous rumbling now surrounded the building.

“Now, I have to let my man know that I ruined his plan.”

With my head held high, I walked to the front door.

The sound died down before I made it outside, the sudden silence almost deafening.

“There’s a car back here,” someone called out. “And there’s a woman in it.”

I pushed the door open and walked out, my eyes instantly going to the man that I knew would be there.

“Pet?” Iron said and there was panic in his eyes as they roamed all over my body. Once he realized none of the blood was mine, he pinned me with a hard look. “What the fuck are you doing here?”

His tone was one that I’d never heard from him before.

“The same as you, I assume. Fixing our problem,” I told him and for some reason, I was having trouble keeping my voice even. I wasn’t sure if anyone had noticed, if they did, their faces didn’t let on.

“So help me, woman. What the fuck have I told you before?”

His body was tight as he stayed rooted in place. The distance between us was only ten feet but it felt like an ocean.
