Now, after some reassessment and reprioritization, I feel like I’m back to my pulp-fiction roots, and more excited about my writing than ever. I’ve always loved adventure stories (both fantasy and science fiction). Especially when they include elements of alternate history.
My Arcane West series reimagines the post-civil war American West, adding occult horror, demonology, feral spirits, strange magic, necromancy, alchemy, and all that good stuff.
My Arcane Interbellum is set in the same world, but pre-WWII and follows two occult detectives as they track down Nazi death cults and ancient artifacts.
I’m mostly inspired by writers like Joe Lansdale, Robert Crais, Stephen King, Naomi Novik, Cherie Priest, Paolo Bacigalupi, Dennis Lehane, Chuck Wendig, Neal Stephenson, and so many more.
Acknowledgments
A HUGE thank you to everyone who bought and read Season One and Two! That gave me such a big confidence boost, and I really hope you enjoyed it enough to go on to read this one!
If it didn’t, you’re probably not reading this anyway.
This has been a really fun experience, and seeing actual strangers review my books was both terrifying and exhilarating.
I want to give a shout out to the 20booksTo50k community. I originally heard about them through Justin Sloan’s Creative Writing Career Podcast, and joining the Facebook group was one of the best things I ever did. I’ve been thinking about this indie publishing venture for a while now, but seeing/hearing all the success stories in that group is what finally motivated me to jump in and give it a shot.
If you’re a writer contemplating whether or not to give the “Indie” path a shot, I definitely suggest looking up some Michael Anderle or Chris Fox videos on Youtube.

Awesome Books
I read a ton. Here are some books I have particularly enjoyed recently:
John L. Monk’s Jenkins Cycle
Brandon Barr’s Her Dangerous Visions
John Langan’s The Fisherman
Jessica Cluess’ A Shadow Bright and Burning
Kevin Sands’ The Blackthorn Key
Barry Hutchison’s Space Team
William Dresden’s Dead Reckoning
Fiona Lexus’ Emily Uncensored series
That list is pretty eclectic, but those books hit all the right notes for me, and will probably give you a good sense of where my tastes lie, and the kind of writer I want to be.
