Emma’s hand trembled, and Peter handed her a glass with a generous shot of Fitz’s whiskey in it.

Her eyes were still damp when Peter raised his glass and said, “To King Fitz, Queen Anna-Maria, and Liam, the man who saved them.”

Then they raised their glasses and drank.

To the past, the present, and their future.

  chapter 41

Fitz had reserved a cottage for them, a lovely, romantic hideaway tucked down a long, winding road. They would spend one night there before moving to their next destination, which Peter had also kept secret.

The cottage was filled with Emma’s favorite sunflowers and white roses. A fire was roaring in the fireplace. Emma stepped inside ahead of Peter.

“It’s beautiful,” she said, still overwhelmed from her visit with Fitz O’Rourke.

Peter took the arm that wasn’t still clutching the binder.

“Is it all right? I mean, that I brought you here?”

Emma responded by setting the binder down on a table near the door and flinging her arms around his neck.

“All right?” she said, her voice muffled while she buried her face in his shirt. “It’s the most amazing thing anyone has ever done for me.” She kissed his cheek and took a small step back. “Thank you. This means the world to me.”

“I wanted us to honor the past, Emma. I want us to never forget any of what brought us here.” He bent his head and kissed her gently, lovingly.

“But now,” he said against her lips, “now I want to honor our future.”

“How do you plan to accomplish that?” she smiled in sweet challenge until he swooped her up.

“Let me show you,” he said and carried her off to the bedroom.

  Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoyed A Royal Romance, Book 1-3.

I started out, years ago, writing just one book and now there are so many. And it’s because of you – my awesome reader – that I kept writing. You encouraged me, you gave me feedback, and most of all – you asked for more. As an author, I love feedback. So, tell me what you liked, what you loved, even what you hated. I’d love to hear from you. You can write me at [email protected] and visit me on the web at https://www.aroyalromance.com.

Finally, I need to ask a favor. If you’re so inclined, I’d love a review of A Royal Romance Book 1-3. Loved it, hated it - I’d just enjoy your feedback. As you may have gleaned from my previous books, reviews can be tough to come by these days. You, the reader, have the power now to make or break a book. If you have the time, here’s a link to the book on Amazon: http://bit.ly/royalaffairbook123
