Finally, Thomas spoke, “Maybe let’s not question one another? Let’s just roll with whatever it is that’s happening here?”
Elora bit her lip and nodded, unable to bring herself to say anything after the immense amount of embarrassment she had caused herself. It was assuring, though, to hear that he felt something between them as well. He lowered his face once again to hers, kissing her lips slowly. She kissed him back eagerly that time, not missing a moment. Thomas’s kiss quickly became heated, his tongue flicking against her lower lip and his hands gripped her hips. With one fluid motion, he moved her to lean her against the wall, his frame hovering over her. Elora’s lips moved against his with passion and vigor. One hand rested on the side of his neck while the other was on his side, pulling him ever closer to her. There was a fire between the two, something unspoken but tangible. Perhaps it was mere infatuation, but Elora didn’t care. She wanted to roll with whatever it was, just like he suggested.
Thomas pressed his body against hers, one hand resting on the brick wall while the other kept to her hip. Then, he was suddenly ripped away from her. Elora’s eyes opened in time to watch as Lance threw Thomas down the sidewalk. Lance was instantly over Thomas when he fell, picking him back up by the front of his shirt and slamming him against the brick wall. Elora darted over to the two, her eyes full of rage. “Jesus Christ, Lance, put him down,” Elora demanded.
But it was as if he didn’t hear her, springing a fist back to punch Thomas in the face. Elora quickly grabbed his fist and held it back from hitting Thomas before her other hand grabbed his arm and began pulling Lance from Thomas.
Lance’s eyes ripped away from the man he had pinned and down to Elora, “Back off, Ella. I got this.”
“You back off,” she snapped at him.
“He was attacking you!” Lance scoffed, glaring back at Thomas.
Elora’s eyes narrowed at the man.
“Are you serious? Get the fuck out of here. I can handle myself, thanks,” she nearly spat at Lance.
She genuinely could not believe that he was that dense. It would have been clear to anyone that their kiss had been consensual. Lance was just a jealous beast of a man. When he still didn’t drop Thomas, Elora shoved Lance with all her might. Lance stumbled, causing him to lose his hold on Thomas.
Lance stood and immediately looked to Elora, “You were seriously making out with this guy?” he questioned her, disbelief in his tone.
She crossed her arms and raised a brow to him, “What do you think?”
Elora then stepped to Thomas and helped him to his feet. As soon as he stood, she pulled him down the sidewalk, away from Lance. As they walked away, Elora could hear Lance growl and punch the brick building, her eyes rolling from his dramatic ways. She had no idea how many times of telling him she wasn’t at all interested in him it was going to take to make him understand she meant it.
“Are you alright?” she asked him as they approached his car.
“I’m fine,” Thomas assured her as he opened the passenger door for her.
They both climbed into the car and headed towards his motel. Elora looked into the side mirror and watched as Lance stood in the place where he had pinned Thomas, staring as they drove away.
“He’s not your boyfriend, is he?” he asked.
Elora couldn’t help the laughter that erupted from her at the thought.
“Definitely not. I already told you I don’t have a boyfriend.”
“Well, I know that. But he was definitely acting like a jealous boyfriend…”
She let out a heavy sigh, looking out the window, “Yeah, he acts like he is my boyfriend, but he isn’t. You wouldn’t believe the number of times I’ve rejected him.”
Her eyes fell back on Thomas, “I suppose I’m irresistible,” she joked.
Thomas smirked, reaching and resting a hand on her knee for the remainder of the short ride. They got out of the car, and he led the way to his room. Elora followed him inside, her eyes scanning over the plain motel room as she made her way to the bed and sat on the edge. A smile was on her face as Thomas sat next to her.
“You know, I actually came here before the bar to try and talk to you,” she admitted to him.
“Is that so?” Thomas questioned, looking her over.
“Mhm. I thought you had blown town.”
“Thought about it after you left me hanging,” he teased her before taking on a more serious expression. “So how long have you been with the gang?”
“Longer than I’m willing to admit,” Elora answered.
She knew it was a vague answer, but she really didn’t know any other way to respond. Being honest wasn’t an option, even though she was certain Thomas knew she was a vampire.
Thomas studied her expression and nodded. “Are you one of their newer members or a founding member?”
“Fairly new, but not the newest. Our founders aren’t actually around anymore,” she told him honestly.
Part of her wondered why he cared about the others, but he was probably just making conversation. And, it was a little understandable since he had been thrown into some drama since Lance decided to make a scene. Elora climbed into his lap, his hands resting on her bottom and looking down at him mischievously.
Thomas’s brow furrowed, “Oh? Then where are the founders?”
Elora shrugged, “Probably far, far away from here. In a way, they were forced out.”
“And in what way was that?” he asked, his hands running up her sides.
“Does it matter?” she questioned, a smile on her face.
“What happened to not questioning one another?” she asked him in a purr.
Thomas’s eyes were on hers, giving a shrug as he did. “Just curious, I suppose.”
Elora leaned in and gave him a kiss. He kissed her back but then peeled away again.
“Did they die or something?”
“Will you shut up?” she sighed.
Elora pushed him to lay on the bed, Thomas looking up at her with surprise. Perhaps she shouldn’t have been so forward and maybe should have talked to him more, but she couldn’t just give out the details of the nest when she didn’t know him. So, she was going to distract him in the best ways possible. Elora crawled over him, lining her face with his. Ducking down, she stole his lips, catching him in a passionate kiss. The kiss brought Thomas to attention, no longer seeming distracted by the line of questioning that was going through his head. His lips moved against hers roughly, both of his hands trailing the length of her spine, following the dip in her lower back.
She moved from his mouth, kissing along his jaw. As she began down his neck, Thomas let out a gruff moan. Sitting up just a bit, she pulled off the t-shirt he was wearing before he followed suit and tugged her camisole off and tossed it to the side. Elora’s lips trailed down his chest. When her lips brushed against the skin above his heart, she could hear it fluttering in his chest. Being a vampire, the sound of a heartbeat had become sort of like a dinner bell to them. Like Pavlov’s dog, each time she heard it her mouth would water. She tried to ignore it at first, continuing to kiss over his chest, but she found herself inhaling deeply because she could smell the iron in him.
“You can do it if you want,” he breathed to her, “You can bite me.”
Elora’s hazel eyes lifted to his with a look of shock, surprised that he was willing to volunteer for her to drink from him. It was like he read her thoughts. Elora lowered her mouth again and kissed up to his neck. As she reached his ear, her fangs sank into his neck. He stiffened for a moment, but as the blood began to fill her mouth, he relaxed. Thomas grabbed the back of her head, his fingers twisting in her hair. He panted as his body filled with uncontainable pleasure from her feeding on him.
With each mouthful of the iron-rich blood, arousal slowly built in her body. Of course, she had always felt that way when she fed; however, it never was to the point where she would become wet from it. Perhaps it was just because they had already been making out, or because she wa
s attracted to him, but it seemed like more to her. Elora had fed on lots of attractive men after making out with them, but never had she gotten so aroused that her body physically react to it.
When she finally pulled away from his neck, all it took was one glance from Thomas and seeing the lust consuming him. She quickly scooted down on him and unbuckled and unzipped his pants. Elora didn’t bother taking the pants off but just shrugged his boxers down to let his member free. She kissed the tip of his member before taking it into her mouth. His hips immediately bucked upward, making her smirk. Hollowing her cheeks, she began to slide his member further into her mouth. Her tongue grazed against his throbbing member, Elora eating up every little reaction he gave. Thomas’s fingers were knotted in her hair, his leg muscles tensed as she went down on him.
Her head bobbed up and down, licking from the tip down to the hilt. Hearing his moans and feeling him squirm filled her body with lust. Her body began to ache for him, making her motions faster and rougher. It didn’t take long for his entire body to turn rigid and his member swelled before he came in the back of her throat. Elora licked the remaining semen from his tip before pulling back from him. Instantly, his hands were on her waist and throwing her down onto the bed. He dragged her legs over the edge of the bed to position her before he began ripping her shorts from her body. Elora’s eyes looked over him, seeing lust still filling his eyes.
Thomas tossed her shorts to the floor and then did the same with her panties. His fingers hesitated at the top of her stockings, his eyes sliding over her form as she laid there in just a black lace bra and thigh-high stockings. After a moment, his hands just ran over the surface of her stockings. He then leaned over and sucked on the sensitive skin that was wrapped over her hip bone. His kisses traveled down the outline of her hipbone. He slowly sank to his knees as he kissed down to between her legs.
When Thomas kneeled in front of her, his arms wrapped under her thighs and brought her pelvis to the very edge of the bed. His lips brushed against her sex, making a slow breath escape from her lips. His tongue traveled along her seam, flicking lightly over her clit before trailing back down. Pulling her legs further apart, Thomas then parted her lips with the tip of his tongue. His tongue flattened, licking her in long, even strokes. Elora’s body felt on fire for him, craving him in the most primal of ways. His tongue swirled around, teasing her endlessly. He licked and sucked on her lower lips, making her breathing ragged. Thomas’s focus went to her clit, flicking it softly at first before adding more pressure against it. Elora moaned through her ragged breathing, an arm tossing over her forehead.
Her hips started to rock into him as he began sucking on her sensitive bud. She could feel herself easily building towards a climax, bucking her hips into his. Another groan escaped her as he pressed two fingers into her. His movements became aggressive, sucking hard on her bud as his fingers moved quickly in and out of her. Elora’s entire being was overtaken by the pleasure. Once again she was thoroughly surprised by how rough he was with her, and she loved it. Her petite stature and pale skin gave most men the idea she was a delicate flower, but she wasn’t. Thomas seemed to understand that completely and focused only on pleasuring her. It wasn’t long until his rough and sensational actions pushed her over the edge, her entire body convulsing briefly from the pleasure. His tongue continued to lick at her until she came down from the ecstasy of it.
Thomas moved to lay over her then, only giving his mouth a single wipe on the back of his hand before kissing her cheek. Elora was nothing but smiles, still elated from the intense encounter. One elbow propped him up while the other glided up and down her side in a soothing way.
“Do you ever get warm?” he asked, a playful smile on his face.
Elora gave him a tired grin, “Nope. Always this temperature. That bother you?”
Thomas chuckled, “Not at all.”
He laid next to her then, pulling her into his side. She glanced over him, wondering what was going through his head. It was so strange to her, to feel such an attraction to a man she knew nothing about. Thomas was so alluring to her. His emerald eyes were brilliant and held his unreadable story, she felt like she could stare into them forever. Elora was flabbergasted by all of the feelings that swarmed her body. There was no logic behind it, and she knew that. But something told her he felt it too—why else would he have made up with her instead of just telling her to fuck off? And normally when guys were just in it for the sex, they wouldn’t cuddle and Thomas was laying right next to her, holding her to him. She enjoyed the way his warm skin felt against hers, it was different.
They laid there for a while, not much being said between the two of them. Elora then turned to him, lifting her head and gazing over his face.
“So, since we are seeing how this plays out, does that mean I’ll see you again?” she asked.
For the first time in a long time, Elora was nervous. She actually cared whether or not he wanted to see her again. It left her feeling anxious and maybe even a little vulnerable.
Thomas glanced up to her, studying her facial expression as his hand continued to run up and down her side. Slowly, a grin pulled at the corner of his lips.
“Yeah, I’d like that.”
Elora’s smiled big, probably making herself too eager but she didn’t care. The thought of getting to know him excited her. It felt like so long since she actually got to know someone. Sure, there were minimal conversations with the guys she normally fed on at the bars they visited, but the only person she really knew was Abigail. The other vampires just didn’t interest her, especially the ones like Lance. Getting to know him was an adventure in itself, especially with him being human. Though she would only be forty years old, it had been so long that she forgot what it was like to be human. She wanted to learn again through him, even if it sounded cheesy.
She laid back down next to him, turning into his side and he tugged her close to him. Her hand found one of his, playing with his fingers and tracing his knuckles as they laid there. It was so comfortable and nice. Thomas let her play with his hand, his sleepy gaze watching her movements. Elora knew she would have to leave in the next couple of hours, but for the time being, she was content and enjoying herself.
CHAPTER FOUR
Elora returned to the warehouse, nothing but smiles. They had laid in his bed, cuddling and talking. She learned things about him through quizzing him with random questions. Learning things like his middle name was Bruce, he didn’t like dogs, his favorite food was cheeseburgers, and he didn’t own anything but jeans, boots, and t-shirts. He asked her questions too, learning her favorite color was purple, her middle name was Francine, and she had always wanted a pet cat. It had been relaxing but short, Elora leaving right around midnight. They had agreed to meet at his motel the next night, Elora wanting to avoid causing a scene with Lance again.
Upon returning to the nest, Abigail pulled her to the side and filled her in on the chaos that had ensued after she and Thomas left. Lance had apparently gone into a frenzy, actually getting into a bar fight with a human man, nearly getting arrested but he fled the scene. The gang was banned from the bar so they would have go to the other local for the remainder of their stay. Abigail begged her to keep Thomas away from the nest, not wanting to upset the balance and it turn into a situation like Gabriel had been in with Olivia. Elora couldn’t believe Lance was being so erratic when she wasn’t with him and wasn’t even interested in him. She hated that what was going on with them was affecting the whole nest, so she promised Abigail she would be discrete when it came to seeing Thomas.
So the next night, just as the sun set beyond the horizon, Elora slipped out of the warehouse and jumped onto her bike and hurried away from the building. She didn’t even want to set eyes on Lance, unsure if she would be able to control her temper. He was creating drama for literally no reason; Elora wasn’t even slightly interested in him and yet he was acting as though she was his property. She didn’t even have to pay attention to the road signs as she
drove, knowing the way by heart after her few trips there. Her bike zoomed down the country roads, uncaring about the speed limits. Pulling into the motel, she got off her motorcycle and went to his room, knocking on the door.
There was silence for a bit, but then the door opened, and Thomas stood in the door frame. He looked down to her, seeming a little surprised to see her.
“You’re early,” he noted as he opened the door, letting her inside.
“Well, apparently I have to sneak around now or else Lance is going to go crazy,” Elora mumbled.
“What do you mean?” Thomas asked, shutting the door behind her.
“I thought coming here in the first place was to avoid all that.”
“Yeah, it is. Apparently, though, after we left he got into a bar fight because he was so mad. And I’ve been advised by my friend to just hide it completely so not to make any more trouble in the gang,” Elora explained.
Thomas raised a brow at her words, scoffing a bit.
“And how old is he? I didn’t know we were in high school, sneaking around our parents.”
“I thought the same thing,” she murmured, looking around the motel room, noticing he had books and notepads laying across the table.
“What’s all this?” Elora asked, reaching to turn a book over to see what the title was.
Thomas quickly reached over and grabbed her hand, pulling her towards him as he leaned against the table.
“My business things,” he said plainly.
“How long is business going to keep you in town?” she asked, looking up at him as he pulled her in.
He gave a shrug, “It’s really hard to say.”
“I’m not keeping you around, am I?” Elora teased him, smirking at him and lacing her fingers with his.
