“Of course we won't mind.” Miss May smiled and offered one of her favorite refrains. “There's no better path to happiness than hard work.”

“Hold up!” Vinny stepped between Maggie and Miss May. “You two can’t just decide this without me!”

“OK,” Maggie put her hand on Vinny’s arm. “What do you think, babe?”

Vinny scrunched up his face. “I got ice sculptures I ordered that you gotta make room for.”

Teeny scoffed, but Miss May kept her composure.

“Not a problem,” Miss May said. “And I’ll charge you my normal rate, since Maggie’s family.”

  “You better,” Vinny said.

And thus began the most catastrophic wedding in Thomas family history. Including mine.

  A Note From the Authors

  Hey Cozy Crew,

I hope you’re all comfy and cozy as you read this letter from me. It’s been a few months since the last apple orchard cozy came out. A lot in the world has changed since then. But good books are here to stay, thanks to readers like you. So thank you for downloading and reading this little mystery.

Matt and I had a lot of fun writing this story. The whole novel was written in March and April of 2020 from our apartment in Peekskill, NY. That means we had the pleasure of watching spring bloom as we wrote this book. This was only our second east coast spring since moving from LA to NY. It was even more beautiful than the first.

Nature is an endless source of comfort. Matt and I celebrated many productive writing days with walks in the forest, along a babbling brook, and those walks always re-charged us for the next day of story telling.

I’m writing this letter to you on May 6, 2020. It’s 5:16 PM. I have a mug of earl grey in front of me, I’m looking at a big, green tree outside, and I’m thinking about the Mother’s Day card I’m going to put in the mail in a few minutes.

Once the Mother’s Day card is in the mail, Matt and I will talk about our plans for the rest of this series. We’ve already begun Book 9 — DREAD AND BUTTER – but we have plans for books 10 and 11 as well.

You’re still reading, so we’re still writing.

Speaking of all you wonderful readers, Matt and I want to thank you all for your support. We always use this little note from the author to express gratitude to the readers and this time is no different.

Writing these books is a privilege and an honor, especially when readers are as enthusiastic and supportive as each of you. Thank you for reading!

If you liked this book, please don’t hesitate to leave a review. Each review helps, and Matt and I enjoy reading your feedback.

Thanks again. Stay safe and healthy out there!

The body was found face down in a loaf of bread.

Chelsea has always been scared of too many carbs. But this is worse than she ever imagined. Bread is too delicious to be used as a weapon. Especially Miss May's fluffy sour dough.

  Good detectives follow every clue.

This time, those clues include a mysterious note, a fallen toupee and a literal trail of bread crumbs.

But will Miss May, Chelsea and Teeny be able to find the killer while the crime is still fresh? Or will the clues get so stale they’re too tough to chew?

Pine Grove jail serves pretty good food.

Still, no one should spend a night locked up unless they’re guilty. So it’s up to the girls to catch the killer before an innocent person gets pinned for the crime.

You’ll love this cozy because everyone loves cute mysteries that keep you turning the pages.
