by H. Berkeley Rourke

We, my dad, my friend Allan and I, or friends Jim and Dan, or many others who remain unnamed in this tale of life; how do we get over it? How do we forget? Do we give up arms? Do we give up the systems that have protected us? Do we learn to live in peace once again and exactly what does that word peace mean in our world?

For now we remain ready to fight. For now we are willing and able to defend our state, our county, our country, our home, our fortress, each other, to the end. If we have to do so again we will defend those things in a way which as it already has, will consume many more human lives. We have done those things necessary to defend ourselves in the past. If we are called upon again to defend ourselves we know how to do so in spades. If ever the flag Don't Tread on Me applied to any group of people it applies to us. That would be me Will de Young, my dad, my mother, my wife, my two sons and my friends and extended family like Allan Coxey, his wife and children. We are the survivors, the remainder of human kind in this country. We can do! We will do! But now, now we are friends to the world. Come and see us, come and be with us, come and learn about freedom, about the United States of America and its people, especially about the U.S. Marines.

  RECON! HOORAW!
