Be careful what you tell people. A friend today could be an enemy tomorrow.

  Rage

“How ‘bout we turn this frown upside down?” Chuckles, one of the oldest pieces of shit in this joint, asks me.

I grab the nose of my beer and take a swig, turning to the old fool. “Since when have you actually given a fuck?”

He slams his bottle down on the wooden bar top, causing it to break, spilling beer across it. I almost want to look around and see if anyone else noticed his ridiculousness or drunken state. But, I know they haven’t. The music is far too loud to notice something as minuscule as this.

I’m sitting at the end of the bar, overlooking the long bar top that goes down forty or so feet and wraps around. You’d think my daughter has some sort of sports bar with as much liquor and beers she has readily on tap. Honestly, her set up surpasses some restaurants I’ve been in.

Two girls man the bar, lookin’ like they can’t be older than twenty-one. They must be though. No way in hell would Boss have underage girls working in here. “What’re your names?” I ask the two of them over the music.

The blonde one with innocent eyes hears me but looks over to her friend. I watch as her mouth moves, and the tanned redhead is the one who makes the initiative to walk over. Only now does blondie have the courage to approach me.

“I’m Iris, and this here is Faith.” Throughout her tone, I can sense the thick southern accent. She turns back to look at her friend, who stays a couple of feet behind her. “My apologies. She’s still getting used to the big city and all that. We’re from a teeny little town in Mississippi. Not much happened there so when we were both accepted into St. John’s University, we took the opportunity. We started a bit late considering it’s the spring semester.”

Faith must spot Chuckles’s broken bottle and is quick to bring over a rag and trash can, carefully picking up the pieces as Iris and I continue to talk. Chuckles flaps his jaws to little miss innocent and thank fuck he’s leaving me alone for the moment.

“You seem a bit seasoned, but this one looks like a deer in the headlights,” I say, pointing over at Faith, which causes Iris to cackle loudly.

“Why, yes. Faith has never been out of our small town, so all of this is still a bit much for her. Honestly, with everything that happened over the last couple weeks, I don’t blame her for being on edge.”

“What do you mean by that?”

Iris looks down to her hands. “I think we made a couple of mistakes in not coming up here for a visit. We found a decent apartment off-campus, a few blocks away, but when we got there . . . let’s just say it wasn’t as it was advertised. Meanwhile, Faith and I put our life savings into that place to secure the rent for a year. We decided that we couldn’t stay based on living conditions and were living in my car for a couple of weeks.

“We had a friend who’d let us take showers in the dorm and we’d catch naps in her room when she was in class, but it was hard. Ricochet and Venom were out one day doing God knows what and saved our asses. Mind you, Faith and I might’ve looked a little rough around the edges. I’m sure it didn’t help we took an alley as a shortcut to get back to the car, but our guardian angels came to save the day.

“Ricochet argued with us for over an hour on the street, telling us to pack up our shit and come here. Faith about soiled her panties. I couldn’t blame her, though. Big, burly bikers aren’t exactly something we see every day. I’m pretty sure she thought that we’d be thrown in a shipping container and sold as sex slaves if we went with him and Venom. I had a gut feeling they were good people, and as you can see, I was right.”

I nod, “Sure seems like you two are doin’ alright.”

Iris smiles widely, flipping her long wavy hair over her shoulders. “Yeah, I think so, too. This isn’t what we signed up for when we came here, but Boss told us that if we work the bar on the weekends and one night during the week that Faith and I could split a room. Seemed like a good idea. Work no more than twenty hours a week and have a decent place to rest our heads. Plus, no one dares to fuck with us. We have the best protection.”

“Boss is a great woman. It makes me proud that she took the two of you off the sides of the street.”

“Yeah, I bet you are. You raised a good woman.” Iris doesn’t have any idea on how her words stab me like a knife, twisting in my gut. I won’t take any credit when it comes to Boss turning into a decent human. I had no part of it and if I was around, she would’ve turned out far worse.

“What are you two studying?” I ask her, wanting to change the subject. No way does this little girl get to hear about all my mistakes and the shit I’ve been through.

“I’m studying psychology. I’m one of those people who really want to understand why people tick the way they do. You know? Faith is an artsy little shit. She’s going into graphic design, and while she might not have a degree or anything yet, she does a damned good job. Boss just had her vamp up the emblem for the club. Said it hadn’t changed in about twenty-something years, and . . . it looks badass.”

I glance over to the right and catch the design on a glass. Iris is quick to pick it up and hand it to me. “Boss wanted the skull to look like it was screaming out with tons of iron behind it. Faith added a sword through the head to make it look like a kill strike and put a small artistic flare at the bottom with the keys. If you ask me, it’s not only gorgeous but terrifying.” The girl isn’t wrong, her friend did do a good job.

“Yeah, it does,” I comment, running my hand over my chin. There’s something she never told me though. “What was the deal with the place you were living at?”

“Oh, uh . . . well, online it was described as a two-bedroom with a small living area and kitchenette. It was tight, but enough for the two of us. The cost was a little outrageous given where we come from but being in the city we thought it was a good deal. We signed the lease and paid the twenty-six hundred a month for the entire year to make sure we were set like the contract stated.”

I interrupt her, “Wait. You paid over thirty thousand for this apartment?”

She cringes and nods. “Yeah, looking back at it now, it was the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. Faith regrets it too. We should’ve spent more time looking into things before we jumped the gun. Anyways, let me continue ‘cause I’ll get sidetracked and forget. We end up getting there the day our lease started. Barely had anything to our names to make sure this big move was easy. Just a few boxes of stuff and our suitcases. The key was certified mailed to us and when we opened the door, it was maybe two hundred and fifty square feet. A studio, with mildew and black mold growing up the walls. To say we were scammed is a complete understatement.”

“What happened to the guy who fucked you two over?” I probably shouldn’t care, but I want to know that this fucker got what he deserved.

She squints her eyes, “What do you mean?”

“Didn’t the club go after him?”

“Oh, no. I didn’t give them any information. Honestly, life fucks us all over sometimes, and Faith and I both view it as a hard lesson learned. Plus, Venom and Ricochet helped us so much that one night in the alley, it feels wrong to have them do anything else for us.”

I sigh, wanting to shake my head at this girl. She’s gonna let this fuck get away with scamming the two of them out of thirty grand unless I say something. “No, fuck that. You might view this as a lesson learned, but, sweetheart, that fuck knew what he was doing.”

“She. She knew what she was doing,” Iris corrects me.

“A woman did this shit?” Fuck, this just makes it more interesting.

“Yep, Allie Viktor. Apparently, she’s a reputable business owner, mother, and avid churchgoer. It’s what made us trust her in the first place.” There’s nothing I hate more than people trying to scam others. While it’s ironic that I’m the one saying it, it doesn’t mean I haven’t done the same a time or two throughout my past. We all know that I’m
no angel. I’m as far as I can be from it.

“She from Queens, too?” I ask, but the look on her face gives me the answer I need.

I’m not going to let this woman think she can fuck over these two. They’re part of my daughter’s club, meaning they’re as much family to me as she is. I’m gonna get their money back, or I’ll fuck with Allie until I get far more.

  Rage

“Can I borrow Venom, Abyss, and Devi?” From the look on Boss’s face, she’s not amused and clearly wants to know why I’m asking.

“Do you have some weird foursome planned? Actually. . . don’t tell me. I don’t want to know.” The pure look of disgust that crosses her face almost makes me laugh. Boy, does she have it wrong this time.

I place my hands on the back of the leather chair that sits directly across from her. We’re on the second level, which is split up between being the bar and a type of lounge area. A few of her club members are sitting in various places around the room, but they’re all spread out a good bit. “No. I’m just trying to figure out why you didn’t go after the bitch who fucked over Faith and Iris,” I state, waiting to gauge her reaction.

Boss looks furious, going from zero to sixty in less than a second. “They wouldn’t give me her name. I let it go and gave them a safe place to stay. If they ever wanted to tell me who she was, they would. I decided to wait it out and see if their trust would grow with me. It seems that their trust has grown with you, which is somewhat alarming all things considered.”

“I got it out of Iris in a ten-minute conversation. You need to up your game, kid,” I grumble. There’s no reason she shouldn’t have known any of the details. They should’ve gone after this cunt before now.

She laughs, obviously offended. “So, what? Are you going to go in and beat the shit out of her, or will you rape her before then? Is she going to be your next prisoner, Dad?” My little girl thinks she has one up on me, bringing up the shit I’ve done. If she thinks it’s gonna affect me, she’s dead wrong.

“I’m bringing your girls because your bylaws state that women handle women, men handle men. I’m simply going as backup and leading them to the bitch’s door who scammed those two sweet girls. This isn’t my club, Tala. It’s yours. I’ll respect your rules and the way you do things, and when my men hear that I’ve respected your law, they will follow it too.”

She scoffs in outrage, rising from her chair. “Who in the fuck says I’m going to let your boys patch-over into my club?” Her voice is in a hushed whisper, but I can hear it ever so clearly. I see what she’s doing, wanting to keep what I offered her private. It must not be easy being my daughter, having your brothers and sisters look at you in a different light. After all, if their Prez’s father breaks every code they have, what’s to say that she won’t?

I dig my fingers into the leather chair below me in utter and complete frustration. She doesn’t understand what I’m doing for her. She isn’t comprehending how taking in the remaining Demons will give her club an even bigger X on the map. She’d be the first MC in the history of the United States to patch-over into an international club. I have six clubhouses in Canada, where most of the Demons fled. The ones who did make it have been hiding ever since, and the moment they know that they have a safe place to go, they will be riding here.

“You would be nothing but a dumb, naïve little girl to not patch the Demons over,” I seethe out, tearing my hands from the couch. “I have your mess to go clean up, sweetie. I’ll be back later, doing something you should’ve done weeks ago.”

I turn around and head out the door that leads to the stairwell. Going down one flight of stairs, I’m in the garage bay. If the girls aren’t at the bar or in the lounge, they’re either here or on the roof.

I spot Devi immediately. She’s a beautiful black girl with a cotton candy blue weave. I can’t help but stare at her perky tits and the curves that compliment her in just the right places. “Where are Venom and Abyss?”

The garage is massive, unlike any I’ve ever been in. It’s seven bays long and on both sides of the garage is a stairwell that leads up into part of the club. Devi points behind her to where Venom and Abyss are chatting. “You two ready to get back at the bitch who fucked over Iris and Faith?”

Their heads turn in my direction quicker than a lightning strike. “Hell yes,” Abyss responds, strutting over to me. She’s the most unique lookin’ woman in this club if you ask me. She has black hair that fades into some type of emerald green. Thick eyeshadow covers her eyes and she has on black lipstick to touch it all off.

Venom follows her. “I’ve been waiting for Boss to give us the go-ahead. What changed her mind?”

“Nothing. I found out who fucked with them, and now I’m about to make sure no one else does. What’s the saying here? No one fucks with family? Well, they’re family. Aren’t they?”

“Damn straight,” Venom comments. She grabs the elastic band from around her wrists and ties up her violet hair in some sort of messy ponytail. “I take it you know a name or some shit?”

I wink at her. “Sure do. Ever hear of Allie Viktor?”

Devi is by my side. “You mean that ratchet ass white woman on all the benches? She’s petty as fuck. She the one who did this to them? Fuck, I’m ready to whoop some ass.”

“Good, that’s what I like to hear.” Over the next ten minutes, the ladies and I figure out where her office is and see that it doesn’t close for another hour. It’ll take us about ten to fifteen minutes to get over there, so we haul ass on our bikes and make sure we have plenty of time to fuck with Allie. By the time we’re done with her, she won’t even so much as breathe in our direction.

The four of us pull into the driveway to her office, which must double as apartments she rents out. I happen to see a realty sign in the yard with her name on it. “She rents out her own properties?”

“Sure looks that way,” Abyss responds. Walking in front of me, she heads up the small set of stairs and knocks hard on the storm door. It rattles loudly, almost like how one does when it’s windy out.

I see a short, white woman peer through the bay window and come to the door. She opens it, offering a Barbie style fake ass smile with it. “Well, good afternoon. How are you all doing today? In the neighborhood to look for a place to rent? Well, you’ve come to the right place!”

“Bitch, you’ve got another thing coming if you think we’re going to rent a place from your shady ass,” Devi spits out, laughing at the end of it. I turn to my right and see she’s crossed her arms, popped a hip, and is waiting for this woman to respond.

  “Excuse me?”

“I’ll refresh your memory, sweetie. Remember the two southern belles you scammed over thirty grand out of a few weeks back? They’re with us now. We’re the Iron Vex, and I’m sure you’ve heard of us,” Venom says, standing right next to Abyss. She has her foot stopping the door, holding it open.

“You see, we’re here to make sure that you don’t try to pull this shit with anyone else. It would be such a shame if something like this were to happen again. Don’t you think?” Abyss says, nodding her head and pouting her lips. She’s using another form of intimidation. Trying to get this woman to change her mind before we rough her up. I’ve never been one to shy away from violence, but I have to say, I like this. It’s another way of mind fucking someone.

Allie looks between the four of us. Not only is she outnumbered, but I think she realizes we’re a little rough around the edges and we’ll fuck her up far worse than anyone else will.

“This is how it’s going to go, darling. You’re going to give us the money they paid you for that piece of shit apartment and we won’t scar your face up. People might even be able to recognize you. Now, doesn’t that sound like a nice trade?” Devi adds a smirk on the end, giving it an extra flare.

I can’t imagine what Allie is thinking right now, but I don
t think this woman is as stupid as she looks. She knows when she’s fucked, as does anyone else. “Alright. Just pipe down. My kids are here. I’ll get you the fucking money.” She disappears into the home and both Abyss and Venom follow her.

Devi mutters something under her breath.

“I didn’t hear you. What did you say?”

“I said, I’ve never really been into old cock, but I’ll be damn sure to catch a ride on you later.” She waggles her eyebrows at me. “Don’t get it twisted, though. I’m not a clubwhore. I’m a prospect, and I can swing around and fuck with whomever I want to. You just happen to be scratching my itch tonight.”

I hate it when women think they get to decide shit, but I’ll be damned if I’m fucking this up. I can’t wait to ram my cock into her juicy cunt tonight. Maybe if Gold is lucky, I’ll let her join in on the fun.

  Rage

“I hope you didn’t think I was messing around, mister,” Devi mews, turning her body in my direction. We’ve been back at the club for about an hour, and the fucking had already started. I’m not using that as a figure of speech either. Walked straight into the bar and saw at least three couples going at it.

Back when I was in my prime, Tala’s grandfather had the same sort of shit going on. The Iron Vex is known for their swinging ways. Couples might be committed to one another here, but that’s not to say they don’t sleep with other people.

If you ask me, this is a man’s wet dream. Devi is a prospect, and from the look on her cut, she doesn’t have anyone who’s claimed her. Even if she did, I bet I could still get between those thighs of hers.

Off in the distance, Gold is staring in my direction. I told that clubwhore she’s mine, and she’d better listen. No one else is to sink themselves in her except for me. If she doesn’t do as I say, I just might wrap my hand around her neck until her lips turn that lovely shade of violet that I’ve wanted to see.
