Death at the Seaside Page 8

by F. R. Jameson

The charges were reduced to assault and then quietly dropped completely.

Elizabeth Franklin’s husband and agent performed miracles keeping her name out of the press. Nevertheless the constant gossip meant she lost her squeaky clean image (“Did you hear she was with him right before it happened?” “Yes, apparently they found a pair of her dirty knickers in his pocket.”) Her career never benefited from it. She had three children with her husband, and chose not to talk about the lucky escape she’d had in turning down Larry Castle’s offer to elope.

And the people who knew him but never cared for him felt that they’d been proved right all along. While the people who knew him and gave him the time of day realised that they’d always had reservations and in hindsight it was easy to see what kind of man he was. So, even though – unlike Paul Lestrade – he had a funeral and a grave, nobody attended or even bothered to find out where it was.

  A plea from the author

If you enjoyed Death at The Seaside, could you please take the time to leave a short review of it on Amazon?

Reviews are the lifeblood of an indie author. They make the difference between scrabbling along and actually making a living out of our writing. So, if you’re able to find the time to leave your thoughts on Death at the Seaside – or any of my other Ghostly Shadows tales, long or short – then I would be tremendously grateful.

  Kind regards,

  FRJ.

Death at the Seaside is the first in F.R. Jameson’s Ghostly Shadow series.

What are those voices from the past? And why are they screaming at her?

It all started when she witnessed a car crash. A brutal smash which left a gorgeous young couple dead. But for Alice, it reawakened strange memories of childhood: a sinister old house, a dead boy in the woods and an other-worldly power lurking forever in the darkness.

Desperate to make sense of the bizarre pictures in her mind, Alice’s enquires lead her to a hidden away clinic in the Surrey Hills. Within those walls though, are the terrifying secrets she’s been running from her whole life.

Now for Alice, the truth could not only break apart her sanity, it could destroy the world...
