Redemption at Shadow Lake Page 15

by J E Grace

“You’re back,” said Beverly rushing over to hug Samantha. “Both of you look so good and look at those tans. I’m jealous.”

“It was wonderful. I almost didn’t want to come back. How has everything been going? Anything I need to take care of?” said Samantha heading over to her desk.

“There are a couple of sellers you need to contact. Also, Mayor Prescott called trying to reach you. Something about all the renovations being done on the McClure Mansion. They are planning a grand opening soon,” said Beverly the excitement building in her voice.

“That’s great news. We can’t wait to see it,” said Samantha taking a seat at her desk. “Call the Mayor and let him know we’re back and that I’ll give him call him later.”

Samantha hooked her arm in Jonathan’s and followed him out onto the street. Even though Hawaii was beautiful, it felt good to be home.

They strolled along the street passing the storefronts of the nearby businesses. Just as they approached the bookstore, a book displayed in the front window caught their attention.

A wave of emotion swept over Jonathan. Part sadness and another of redemption for closure to a past that no longer haunted him. He read the title of the book. “Redemption at Shadow Lake” by E. H. Montgomery.

God had healed him from his past and provided him with a bright future. Seeing the published book was the final step in his closure and the beginning of a new life with Samantha. A new light shone in his eyes, and a renewed love for God burned deep in his heart.
