Aurora’s heart raced. She’d do anything to be one of the astronauts selected.
Anything. Even after everything that happened on Aviary. Even after the quarantine that almost killed her. She knew the Alliance was an imperfect organization, but it was still the best hope for the future and their world.
Thoughts of her father, Zane, and Sky seemed mute in comparison to what needed to be done. She wouldn’t let the death of Nathaniel, Tor, Mercury, Rick, Miles and Dr Shaffer be for nothing.
Aurora turned off the screen and Veronica Harley’s face disappeared. She grabbed her sim band, thinking there was no time like the present.
She programmed the shuttle, and as its familiar cockpit greeted her, Aurora smiled. There was only one place she was ever in control of her own life—the cockpit.
Chapter 62
Zane
Pacing his room, Zane for once was at a loss for what to do. He was no longer under the burden of discovering his past. He’d not only accomplished that goal, but had come to terms with his differences. Now that he was free to move forward with his life, he was desperately afraid that his discoveries had pushed away the one girl he’d wanted to live for.
Aurora’s green eyes had shattered when he’d finally confessed the truth. And he hadn’t even told her the whole story—that he was certain it had been her own mother that freed him. Was she having the heart attack that killed her when he kept running away?
Guilt threatened to crush him.
But what could he have done? He’d been a child.
Twisting his hands together, he vowed to Helen that he would make up for her sacrifice. He’d do and be everything Aurora needed.
First, he needed to earn her trust again. Zane would tell her everything, even stories from his past if that’s what it took.
He wouldn’t fail this time. He had no more secrets. Nothing left to hide. He’d given her everything.
Zane knew exactly what he needed to do.
There was no doubt in his mind that Aurora would fight to be a part of the mission to Mars. Now all he had to do was ensure he went with her.
As soon as he made the decision, the world tilted.
The Apollo Academy trembled beneath his feet.
Not again …

The Apollo Academy
Kimberly P. Chase
Take off with this dynamic, thrillseeking, sexy New Adult science fiction series debut. Welcome to the exclusive Apollo Academy, where Aurora is about to discover that achieving her dream is only the first step toward her future.
As the heiress to Titon Technologies, eighteen-year-old Aurora Titon can have whatever she wants — clothes, expensive gadgets, anything money can buy. But all she really wants is to escape her pampered, paparazzi-infested life for the stars. Becoming the first female pilot to train as an astronaut for the exclusive Apollo Academy is exactly the chance for which she has been waiting.
Flying is everything she ever dreamed, her best friend also got into the Academy and the paparazzi are banned from campus. Everything would be perfect, except for her unreciprocated crush on a fellow student, the sexy astronaut bent on making her life hell, and the fact that someone keeps trying to kill her.
The most important education doesn’t happen in the classroom…
Honour Bound
M.A. Grant
The Lawmen of the Republic: fierce, honourable, soldiers, men. But what happens when all that they’ve been told turns out to be lies?
The wars to establish the Republic are over. The families of the Ton have risen from the blood and ashes to claim the new aristocracy. Their prodigal son, First Lieutenant Alexander Cade, is the Lawmen Academy’s youngest and most successful graduate. However, his muddied bloodlines force his exile to the Northern Wastes, the last unclaimed territory of the Republic.
Lailian scout Natalia Volkova knows that her survival in a rebel labour camp rests entirely on her iron will and killing prowess. Her fierce quest for freedom is tempered by only one thing: conflicting memories of the young Republic lieutenant who helped liberate her camp, and then returned to the fold of her people’s oppressors. She never expects that their paths will cross again—under very different circumstances.
Cade’s honour limits his choices to one: take his band of specialized Lawmen into the Wastes, and protect it and its people. There, he meets Talia, a tough, resilient refugee who holds little respect for the Republic and its laws. But as a deathly outbreak leads to a desperate race for a cure, Talia and Cade will find themselves on uncertain ground: What is right is not always obvious, and what is honourable is not always right.
Touring the Stars
S. E. Gilchrist
From S.E. Gilchrist comes the next big thing: The Starburst Rock Band coming to a galaxy near you…
The first long-range star voyager will soon depart the Seven Galaxies on its quest to find Earth. Desperately in love with a Darkon warrior who appears oblivious to her existence, Elise has reserved a cabin. But before she leaves, she has one more thing she wants to do: bring some fun and light into the countless lives that have known only war. And if it gives her one last chance to try and win her warrior’s heart? Well, so much the better.
Commander Magar understands duty, and that the world might not be as safe as everyone hopes. Under the cover of providing security for the new rock band, Magar has orders to search for a renegade Elite captain—one who has no intention of coming quietly. But the close quarters with Elise, the woman who holds his heart—and the hearts of his daughters—makes keeping his mind on work increasingly difficult.
He may not be worthy of her heart, but that doesn’t stop him from craving it, along with her body and soul.
Winning the King
Nicole Murphy
From Nicole Murphy comes a sexy new SF romance: everything has always come easily to her…except him.
Blue eyes, golden curls, a body songs are composed about, and part of one of the most powerful families in the colonies, Diana Wiltmore is not used to ever hearing the word ‘no’. So when she sets her sights on a fling with the gorgeous, potent and single King of Angonia, Gareth, she is shocked when he turns her down flat. In an effort to put the rejection behind her, she agrees to her sister’s plan to gain some political leverage by cosying up to a rival planetary ruler.
Gareth has responsibilities and no time for a woman like Diana. She is all temptation and distraction, but Gareth wants more from a woman than decoration. But it is Diana standing by his side as his beloved home of Angonia is attacked and he starts to see that underneath the surface is a strong woman even more beautiful than her picture-perfect exterior.
Gareth’s people need him and to be there for them, he needs Diana. But has he ruined every chance he has of winning her heart?
