Gracie giggled as Cora threw an irritated glance at her oldest son. “You need to take better care of her.” She growled out at him.

“I will, Madue.” Kordon promised as he followed them into his and Gracie’s home.

“Good. I expected to be there when your daughter is born. I have always wanted a girl to spoil.” Cora said brightly.

Kordon and his father simply shook their heads. “We are already in trouble. She is pestering your brothers now to bring her more daughters.” Bazteen muttered under his breath. “Your brothers are blaming you for that.”

Kordon looked over at the glowing face of his mate and smiled tenderly. She and his mother were talking about what the baby was going to need. He watched them for several minutes before responding to his father’s comment.

“They can blame me all they want. They are just jealous. Have you ever seen a more beautiful warrior in your life?” Kordon asked his father.

Bazteen was looking at the glowing face of his mate as she tenderly pushed back a strand of hair from Gracie’s face. “No, I don’t think I ever have.” He said smiling as Cora looked up at him with glowing eyes.

  Epilogue

“No!” The little voice said stubbornly.

“Violet Coraleen Jeke!” The deep voice growled menacingly. “You come out of there right now.

“NO!” Violet said as her lower lip began to tremble.

“Don’t cry. Please don’t cry.” Kordon begged as his gut twisted.

A loud sob filled the air as two year old Violet Coraleen Jeke burst into tears at her father’s stern tone. Her short strawberry blonde curls bounced as she wailed as if her little heart was broken.

“Kordon!” Two female voices called out at the same time.

“Come on, Violet. You are going to get daddy in trouble with both mommy and Madue. Kordon begged his sobbing daughter. “You can wear your pants. I promise.”

The dark green eyes of his mate stared up at him in a younger version but it was still enough to catch his breath. “No dress? I don’t like dresses!” Violet asked suspiciously.

“No dresses, I promise.” Kordon promised in resignation.

Violet looked at her dad for a moment more before crawling out from under the table. She lifted her arms up for Kordon to pick her up. The minute his strong arms came around her, Violet wrapped her tiny arms as far as she could around his neck and gave him a big kiss on the lips.

“I love you, daddy.” Violet whispered looking up at him as if he was her hero.

Kordon felt the familiar lump in his throat every time he held his tiny daughter. She was so much like his petite wife he had to hold back a groan. She had him wrapped around her tiny fingers as well.

“Let’s get you dressed so we can go get your baby brother.” Kordon said carrying his very naked two year old daughter toward the stairs.

Cora and Gracie were standing at the bottom of the steps. Cora had her arm around a very pregnant Gracie helping her make the last one when Gracie suddenly stopped and grimaced. Gracie looked down in resignation before looking at Cora than turning to look at Kordon.

“Kordon, can you give Violet to your mom. I need help getting back upstairs.” Gracie said as she felt the warm liquid flowing down her leg.

“But, I thought you said the baby was coming? We have to get you to the…” Kordon’s eyes widened as he saw the liquid pooling under Gracie.

“The baby is coming.” Gracie panted. “Right now.”

Kordon swayed for a moment before he thrust Violet into his mother’s arms and swept Gracie up into his. He took the steps two at a time, shouldering open the door to their room. He quickly laid Gracie down on the covers ignoring her when she cried out for something to protect the mattress. Reaching up under the dress she was wearing he ripped her panties off just as she groaned out loud. For once, he was glad she listened to him when he suggested she wear a dress to the hospital since it was easier to get on and off.

“He’s coming.” Gracie moaned again as she clenched her teeth together to keep from screaming.

“Breathe, Gracie.” Cora said softly as she brushed Gracie’s hair back. “Bazteen has Violet. She is showing him what she wants to wear.”

Kordon’s hands shook as he saw the head of his son emerge as Gracie cried out loudly. Supporting the tiny head in the palm of his hand, he waited for the next contraction. When Gracie pushed down hard again, Kordon caught his tiny son in his hands. Helin quickly began cleaning his tiny nose and mouth. After a moment, a loud cry filled the air.

“Take him to her. I’ll finish up here.” Helin said gently pushing the now swaddled infant and his father towards the head of the bed.

Kordon stared in stunned disbelief at the tiny body in his hands. Everything happened so fast he just reacted. He looked up at Gracie who was staring at him with tears in her eyes. He could hear Helin in the background softly telling Gracie to push again to clear the afterbirth and his mother getting clean linen out and the items needed to clean Gracie up. But, all he had eyes for was his mate.

“You have given me so much.” Kordon whispered softly.

Gracie held her arms out as Kordon leaned down and place their son against her breast. Gracie bared a nipple and rubbed it gently against his tiny mouth until he latched onto it. Leaning back exhausted, she reached out a hand to touch Kordon’s cheek, brushing her thumb across it gently. Kordon could feel the cooler air against the damp skin. He reached up and touched his cheek. It was slightly damp from his tears.

“You are the one who has given me everything I’ve ever wanted.” Gracie said.

Kordon reached up and pressed Gracie’s hand tightly against his skin. “You reached out and touched me, Gracie. The first time I heard your voice calling out to anyone who could hear you. It was Gracie’s Touch that gave me the love and hope I needed.” Kordon whispered brokenly. “I love you, Gracie Jones-Jeke.”

Gracie smiled as she brought Kordon’s hand to her breast where their tiny son nursed. “This is Gracie saying thank you, Murphy, for being in my life.”
