I gritted my teeth. “But I haven’t told him about you.”
“Are you daft? Have a little mystery.”
“You are more than a little mystery.”
Eric shimmered into view beside me. “What’s up?”
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I wish I could sweep you into my arms, ӓskling, kiss every inch of your body and tell you how much I love you.”
“That would be nice.” But also overwhelming.
“How’s next Wednesday for you?”
“What?”
“Next Wednesday. Can you get Jill to stay over so we can spend the night out?”
How was that possible? “What did you have in mind?” It couldn’t be . . .
“In a land far, far away . . . in a time long past . . .” He didn’t need to use words. His playful smile said it all and then some.
“You said you would never accept Guiden’s terms.”
“I didn’t, but he’s intent on convincing me.”
I raised a brow.
“This time he’s offered us three hours for free.”
“Midnight magic in the hayloft.” I sighed.
Dante emerged from the tree line. “Can I join you?”

I Messed up Christmas
A Ghost & Abby Mystery – Novella
~magical mayhem for the holidays~
Single-mom, Abby Jenkins, the night-janitor in a haunted teahouse in the Pacific Northwest town of Sunset Cove, runs a detective business on the side, and while tackling the usual supernatural suspects is easy for her, she can’t face Christmas. She wants this one to be perfect for her kids. With a yuletide, to-do list longer than Main Street, a jealous Viking boyfriend with existential issues, and unreliable witch powers she’s in a twisted-tinsel, holiday funk, when the mayor asks her to find a missing angel. The statue, which sat on top of the Christmas tree in the town square for three decades, symbolizes all that’s good about the holidays: love, peace and joy. Abby drops everything to look for the stolen angel.
Will she find Christmas along the way?
