Valaisha Defenders Page 10

My mother smiled and turned to Kieran. “Kieran, we are creating a training room for you to train in and we found someone that will help guide you.”

“That would be great. I need help with training.”

  “We need to be ready.”

“Mom, have you seen an outcome?” I asked her.

“I saw several, and it could be because someone keeps changing their mind, or something is changing to keep it changed on me. Like somehow they know of my ability and continues to keep changing things.” She shook her head. “But I keep trying to see. It takes a lot of focus sometimes. Other times it comes to me. It seems I met my match whoever is changing the outcome.”

Back home after seeing my mom do what she does, and how she explained she has been training since she was a child, I was still in complete amazement. She made a copy of the video and wanted me to show Galen so there would be no secrets.

We now sat together and as I explained we watched the video. Galen was in total surprise at the moves my mother

did; she looked good in her armor like a warrior princess or queen as that is what she is. “Where did the sword come from?” Galen asked me while viewing the video.

“She told me my father had some of his top inventors create it for her. Bryden has one too.” My eyes began to tear. “My dad knew he was going to die and he knew my mom and Bryden was going to get together… He knew because he had my mother’s ability to see the future. He had the armor created for them both as well as those swords. He knew all along about my mother’s ability.” I said feeling a little choked up. “They are called the Defenders of the worlds. They are the ones while patrolling that spotted these suspicious men and realized they were terrorists about to plant a bomb.”

“Look at the terror in that man’s eyes;” Galen said watching the video, “He really is afraid of your mom.” He was just as amazed as I was. “I mean your mom is so tiny and petite and to be that strong with those moves amazing. Your mom is what? Five one five two?”

I laughed, “Yeah she is five two.”

“That is where you get your height from.” He smiled at me and hugged me.

“My mother told me your parents have abilities too. I never thought to ask.”

“Yeah, they haven’t been working or using it much. My dad can manipulate electricity from the air. And my mother can move and manipulate objects.” He told me.

“Sound’s cool. So, everyone has certain abilities on all the worlds.”

“Not all worlds, like Earth, Amadoria, and a few others. But, yeah our three the people are born with certain abilities.” He explained to me.

All this is making me think of something. “I want to schedule a conference with your parents and mine.”

“You have something up your sleeve, don’t you?” He asked looking at me suspiciously.

I smiled, “You bet I do.”

A couple of days later we were back in the study having the conference call I set up.

“I called you all together because I have a plan. I have no idea why no one thought of this before, but what if we have the generals of our military take an inventory of everyone’s special abilities and instead of weapons that they use, they all train with their abilities?” I began.

“Even our abilities, Rayna?” Derrik asked.

“King Derrik I heard you can manipulate electricity. And you Queen Kristana can move and manipulate with your mind. Right?”

“Yes, that is so,” Derrik said.

“My mother and Bryden have abilities, and they were the ones that caught the men before another bombing happened.”

“You did that Shannon?” Kristana asked.

“Yes, we did, I was the one who also did the interrogation and got the man to confess.” My mother said. “I am downloading now the video of the interrogation.” My mother downloaded it, and the Rowen’s watched the video as we waited and by the expression on their faces were quite impressed.

“How long have you been training Shannon?” Kristana asked.

“Most all my life. We just discovered Bryden has the same ability; he has been training too. I used my anger instead of emotions to fuel my ability. I seem to have improved it through the anger.” My mother was saying. “Since this new threat began, Bryden,” She looked up at him and smiled, “And I have been training up to four hours or more daily. I do see where Rayna is going with this and we should train our abilities. And it could be used as an element of surprise against the new enemy.”

“So, we need to see who all has abilities and have them all focus on training and strengthening their abilities,” Derrik said.

“God gave them to us, why not use it?!” I added.

“Good point, Rayna,” Bryden said. “Our abilities could have been given us for such a time as this.”

“Okay then, Kristana and I will begin training as well. Thank you Rayana for giving us something to think about.” Derrik put in.

I felt Galen squeeze my waist he was holding while we were talking. The conference connection ended, and we stood there. “We need to get the generals here to make a list of all with powerful abilities that can be trained and used,” I said looking up at Galen.

“I will get the message out to them. In the meantime, get ready and meet me in the training room.” He said bending down and kissing me. “I will be there after I speak to the generals.”

I was already welding and practicing by the time Galen walked in, and I smile, “Ready for our one on one?”

He smiled and went into his stance. “You bet I am.”

Another excellent practice session and after four hours, I am surprisingly not as breathless as when we began these practices. I noticed Galen was too. “Wow, I am feeling stronger and actually can keep going.”

“Me too.” He went into his stance, “Then let’s go.”

We ended up laughing at the end of the session, and I had an idea. “What if we practice some air maneuvers now. I am still wired and ready to go.”

“Now that is a great idea, we do need to prepare for anything,” Galen said taking my hand to lead me out.

We are now on our tayrens and ready to practice for in air battles. We decided to fly where there would be no one around or buildings on the ground. As we flew, I saw a large group of tayrens and pointed them out to Galen.

“Those are wild tayrens,” Galen said watching them fly in formation.

“Wow, I never saw wild tayrens before. Amazing.” They were fascinating to watch. The way they flew so free with no care. “They remind me of wild horses running free,” I said smiling at the site. “I am glad we took this time to watch this amazing site.”

“Me too.” Galen reached over to hold my hand. The tayrens decided to land after their play in the air and began grazing on the grass below in the open field. It was an amazing site to see. “Shall we continue our practice?” Galen asked looking over at me.

“Let’s begin,” I said smiling and activating my flaming sword.

“Mom it was amazing. You should have seen them.” I was telling my mother later.

She laughed softly at my excitement. “Hun, I grew up here. I have seen many wild tayrens, and I still get amazed watching them.” She got serious, “So, you are training on your tayrens. That is a great idea, but here is one better. How about the four of us practice together. Our swords cut to easily through normal swords, your flaming will be more powerful for a great practice.”

“Mom, that is a great idea. I will talk to Galen about it, and I will contact you back. I would love to schedule a practice for tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow will be perfect. I will discuss it with Bryden.” She smiled, “I bet you two will give us a good run for the money.”

I laughed, “I bet we will. I will talk to you later. Love you, mom.”

“Love you too sweetie.” The connection ended, and I sat there smiling. My mom and I have always had a great relationship. She was my best friend growing up. I remember slumber parties with my friends
and my mother would make it fun for us. Now that I am nineteen we seem to be getting closer.

Now I have a sister, and for me, that is pretty exciting. I wonder how she is doing with her training? I stood up to look for Galen to speak with him about practice tomorrow with mom and Bryden. I found him in our room signing some documents, and he looked up and smiled as I came in. “How’s my beautiful wife this afternoon?” He stood up and walked over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“I spoke with my mother to tell her of the wild tayrens. She and I came up with an idea, and I want to pass it by you?” I began with my arms around his waist looking up at him.

“What idea would that be?” He said kissing the top of my head.

“The four of us train in air battle together. With their skills and ours, we could be equal for a great practice.” I said smiling up at him. “I suggested tomorrow, would that be fine?”

He smiled at me, “Whatever you want, but it is a great idea. Yeah tell your mom that will be good, and I am all for it. I look forward to battling Bryden.” He said Bryden’s name with a huge grin.

“You see him as a good opponent, don’t you?”

“One on one with him and his skills, yeah I look forward to it.” He hugged me tighter.

I laughed, “I bet he will be just as anxious as you will be. I will contact my mother and tell her it is a go for tomorrow.”

“Alright, and babe?” I looked up at him. “Hurry back.” He said bending and kissing me with a promise of what is to come.

The next day Galen and I took my mom and Bryden to the open place where we did our practice. It was all agreed for us to wear our armor for this training. Seeing my mom and Bryden in their armor was quite impressive.

“Mom this is where we saw the wild tayrens.” I looked around hoping to see them again, but none was in sight.

“They do travel Hun, even through the portals to other worlds.” My mom said as we hovered.

“So, Galen, you want to see if I am a worthy opponent?” Bryden asked Galen as he activated his glowing red and gold sword, “Ready to go?”

Galen smiled and activated his flaming sword. “You bet.” He said ready to go at it with Bryden.

My mom and I stayed back and watched them as they welded their swords and we could hear the clanking of how powerful the blades are as they hit. My mom leaned my direction and asked, “Which one will tire out, and which one will be the victor?”

We both laughed as we watched the two men going at it as if their lives depended on it.

I have to admit they both looked pretty equal. Both are strong and can wield a sword. “Actually mom, I think it might turn out to be a tie.” I smiled looking at my mom.

“You could be right about that.” She smiled back at me.

“By the way mom, you do look great in your armor.” I smiled, “My mom the warrior queen.”

She laughed out loud at that comment.

“How is Kieran doing with her training?” I asked my mom.

“How? Indeed. Well, let’s just say her trainer is young handsome and she is smitten.” My mother said smiling.

“Oh? How does he feel?” I asked looking back at the men.

“He seems to like her too. They seem to be training a lot together these days. And longer too.”

I glanced at my mom. “Really? Well, I am happy for her.”

“Since she can’t do her princess duties right now she is taking advantage of this time to… Um, train.” I laughed and turned back to watch the men.

After the first hour, the men realized we were sitting back and watching them.

“Seems we have an audience, Galen. Shouldn’t you two be training together?”

“Yeah, are you two just going to sit there and watch us all day?” Galen said welding his sword in a circle.

“We wanted to see who would win. After all, you both challenged each other.” My mother said smiling.

“Come on mom our turn to go at this,” I said moving Selest in place.

“Come on Bryden our turn to watch,” Galen said as he and Bryden moved out of the way.

“This ought to be good,” Bryden said.

My mother got in place, and I had to let her know. “Now just because I am your daughter, you don’t have to go easy on me.” I smiled activating my sword, and my mother smiled back.

“Oh, I won’t.” Just then I took a swing, and she blocked it beautifully like the pro I know she is. And the battle began.

I discovered my mother was an excellent opponent for me as we both were equal in strength and agility. We all trained for about four hours and would switch off as I would train with Bryden and my mom with Galan.

It was an excellent training, and we all agreed we need to continue training together. My mom informed us she has a perfect training room at their palace and we decided that will be next. We all went back to our palace to have lunch and had a great visit. My mother after lunch wanted to show us the training room and since we had time, decided to do a little ground training. So, Galen and I teleported with mom and Bryden over to the palace on Valaisha.

She walked down a long hall, and we all followed her. She opened a secret door, and the lights came on. The room was impressive with so many different training equipments. My mom turned on something, and a hologram appeared. “Rayna, Galen I would like you to meet my teacher, Alcor aka Al for short. He was named for your great-grandfather Rayna.”

“Good Afternoon, Your Majesties,” Al said bowing.

Galen and I were shocked until my mother explained. “He is self-aware.” She smiled at us. “Just have a normal conversation with him he does answer.” My mother turned to Al. “Al, the four of us will be training today. If you see any maneuvers that need improving feel free to give us your input.”

“Will do Your Majesty.” Said Al, standing back to watch.

My mom and Bryden demonstrated the course, and I have to say I was quite impressed. Al, the hologram, was giving pointers and suggestions and being quite encouraging. I couldn’t wait to try. My mom and Bryden finished and began laughing. “Good job Your Majesties, you both have developed great teamwork,” Al said of their training. Al turned to Galen and me and asked, “Would you both like to try?”

It was strange answering a hologram, but yeah, we both wanted to give this a try. “Yes Al, we are ready to try,” I said getting into place as did Galen. “Remember, teamwork.” I smiled at him.

“Always,” He smiled back. We did the course and made a few mistakes and discovered my mother had the settings set for advanced.

We ended up laughing at our errors, and my mother asked, “Want to go again?”

“Oh yeah, let’s go,” Galen said looking at me and getting into a ready stance. I followed his lead and got in my ready position, and before it began, Al gave us a few advice on how to improve our mistakes.

“Are you two ready now?” Al asked us after telling us how to correct the errors.

“Yes, we are ready, Al,” Galen said prepared to go.

“Alright then, you may now begin,” Al said as the machine turned on.

This time around with the guidance of Al we did the course flawlessly. At the end Galen and I did an Earth thing, we high fived each other. My mom and Bryden stood there watching and laughed when we did. “Okay, now that you two have the hang of the training, you dare to do four-way training?” My mother asked us smiling.

“Let’s have at it,” I said all set and ready to go.

We continued to train for a long while, and we were working great as a team. Afterward, we all received high praises from Al, “Beautiful work Your Majesties. You have accomplished the top level of this training.”

“Thanks, Al. We will be doing a lot more training from this day on. We have to prepare.” My mother said.

  He bowed, “Excellent, Majesty.”

My mother switched Al off. “Will you two be up for afternoon training?”

  “I know I will,” I said enthusiastically. I looked
over at Galen.

“Yeah, I am all for it.” He added his input.

Galen and I with my mom and Bryden teleported back to the palace of Kaihu. My mom and Bryden had ridden their tayrens over earlier, so they planned to ride back after a nice dinner at our place.

As we were enjoying our meal, there suddenly was a loud but distant, explosion that seem to rock the palace. We all looked at each other, and my fork fell to my plate. We jumped up and ran to the balcony and looked around, there in the distant was a huge bellow of smoke.

Galen called down to the stables to have our tayrens ready to go, and we hurried down to the stables. The boy had just finished saddling the last tayren, and we four mounted and headed off towards the bellow of thick black smoke.

As we drew closer, we could see flames, and it was spreading. ‘Galen are they trying to burn our world?’ I asked as the smoke was too thick to speak now.

‘It seems the explosion was not intended to start a fire only to do damage…’ he suddenly stopped. “Wait,” He spoke aloud and coughed from the smoke. “This is the location of the military base Drakon.” Galen coughed and began again. “At least this direction.”

“Then let us go,” Bryden said coughing.

“I would suggest we fly higher above the smoke.” My mother suggested coughing hard.

So, we flew higher where the smoke was thinner as the light wind was blowing the smoke in the direction of the palace. We finally stopped coughing, and we headed towards the base.

Once we got to where the base once stood, it was gone entirely. “The men and women!” I said and saw no one below. Everything was charcoaled and obliterated, and on fire and in the center of the blast zone was a huge crater.

“There seem to be no survivors. And no more buildings.” Galen said looking around.

I looked all around and noticed the fire was still spreading. “We need to stop the fire before it destroys the forest,” I said.

“She is right Galen; there seems to be nothing we can do here. Sadly, all lives are gone.” Bryden said.
