“What are we doing here?” Pain asked.

“This is where you will train and guide the being that I tasked you to find.”

“How are we going to do that?” Happiness asked.

“All the knowledge you need for this task, you already possess it,” the First responded. “The wisdom however, it’s something you must learn on your own. You can come and leave the Forever Realm as you please, it may take many solar cycles before you find the being and may take even more to train and guide it, but I know you are qualified for the task.”

The First looked up to the night starry sky of the Forever Realm. “Now,” it said. “It’s time for me to go.”

Wrinkles formed around the lower half of the First’s faced and it looked like a smile, it closed its eyes, then tendrils started coming out of its body towards the ground.

“My children,” the First said as it looked at its progenies. “My time has come, as I leave I will give every living being in this planet a soul, this will be the key of which all living beings will need to reincarnate and thus gaining immortality.”

The tendrils began thicker and the First’s body began to shapeshift and grow.

“Once I’m gone, your mission will start,” the First said as everyone of its children looked at it. “You must work together in order to achieve this goal. Even though some of the creatures may house a few of you, only one will be able to house all of you.”

The First finally turned into an enormous golden glowing tree with a heart shaped trunk and golden glowing leaves. The children walked closer to it and admired its magnificence.

The tree pulsed one last time sending a golden shockwave throughout the Forever Realm and transported the children back to the Earth, and as the shockwave travelled all around the world, all the living beings in planet glowed golden then the glow faded.

“Find it, my children,” the First’s voice echoed in all of its children. “Guide, train, and bring to the world the next guardian of the cycle of souls. Farewell.”

  OTHER WORKS OF HERGY TOMATALA

Bitter tells the epic coming-of-age, true story of author Hergy Tomatala from his early childhood in the early 90s to his late-twenties in the late 2020s, in his quest to find true love in Luanda, Angola. Ever since an early age, finding true love was all Hergy ever wanted, but little did he know that life isn’t always what you expect. He describes — in first person perspective — various short stories of his numerous rejections, relationships and adventures, that were filled with a lot of plot twists, pain, joy, happiness, drama and comedy in crude, but undeniably funny details and style.
