Mr. & Mrs. Wright: A BWWM Romance (Wright Brothers Series Book 2) Page 26

The Manix Gallery had mysteriously gone out of business not too long after Brooklyn had sold her first collection in Paris. Now she had a tiny inkling why.

“I have to say, based on what I’ve seen, I look forward to seeing more. Congratulations, dear.”

As Eleanor walked away, Brooklyn let out the breath she’d held in. “Oh my god, could this day get any more perfect?”

Alex wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned in. “Well technically, we haven’t had our wedding night yet….”

“Michael, it’s time,” London said digging an elbow into his sleeping side.

He gave a brief snore then simply shifted positions.

London laughed and jabbed a bit harder this time. He groaned awake.

“What it is, honey,” he grumbled.

She had already switched on her bedside lamp, so she just pointed down at the large bump in front of her and raised her eyebrows.

  “Somebody wants out.”

  That woke him right up.

“Oh, shit!” His eyes flashed to hers. “Oh, sorry.”

She just laughed and pulled herself off her side of the bed. As he went through the checklist in his head.

“Okay, so Lily’s with your parents. That’s right, we need to call them. I’ll call Mom and Dad from the hospital.”

“Don’t forget to remind them—” London began.

“Yes, yes, best behavior this time,” he said running his hands through his hair. “I’m sure I’m going to forget something here.”

“Well, you may want to start by putting on some pants,” she said, casting her eyes down to his boxers.

He looked down at himself and laughed. “What would I do without you?”

“Well, I certainly hope you wouldn’t be going outside in your underwear.” She came over to him and hugged him, holding him in place.

“Just relax. We’ve done this before.”

  * * *

“They had a boy!” Brooklyn squealed, looking down at her phone. “Gray Lawrence Wright.”

“Not bad looking,” Alex said, nodding into the phone.

Brooklyn elbowed him. “Not bad looking? He’s gorgeous.”

“Well, he certainly has the Wright hair, and I think I can already see a cleft chin.”

She laughed. “Let’s hope that’s all he inherits from his grandfather.”

They both stared at the picture of the tiny wrinkled face a few moments longer, embracing the feel of being an aunt and uncle yet again. Finally, Brooklyn closed out the message and put the phone back on the nightstand.

They were on the island of Bora Bora in Tahiti. It was the perfect mix of tropical paradise and a chance for Brooklyn to practice her French. They had only been here three out of the ten days they planned on staying here and it had been glorious. They had their own luxury over-water bungalow, complete with its own tiny infinity pool and, in a delightfully fun addition, a trampoline to jump off of straight into the bright blue ocean. Unlike London, Brooklyn had no inhibitions about following the local tradition of going completely topless at the beach.

They spent lazy mornings wrapped in each other’s arms. Days were spent wandering around the tiny island or swimming and sun bathing. Nights were spent…doing what honeymooners should do.

Already, Brooklyn was getting inspired for her next collection. The two of them had a permanent loft in Tribeca now that Alex had moved to the investment side of clubs and restaurants. She couldn’t wait to get back to her little studio space and get to work.

Right that moment she had other ideas in her head. She leaned back into Alex and snuggled in.

“So that’s baby number two for them.”

“Yeah,” he said. “Looks like we have some catching up to do.”

Brooklyn laughed. “Can we at least get through the honeymoon first?”

  “It doesn’t hurt to practice.”

“Okay, I’m liking where this is going. Speaking of which….”

  “Yeah?” he asked warily.

“This being our honeymoon and all….”

  “Uh-huh?”

“And I know you said we’d have to wait until our 50th anniversary—”

  “Oh no!” Alex protested.

Brooklyn turned around to give him a pout. “But it was sooo nice.”

“And nearly broke me in two.”

“Not even for your loving wife?” She got up to straddle him.

He crossed his arms in protest.

“For the future mother of your children.” She walked her fingers up his hard stomach, pulling his arms apart.

  “Not yet.”

“It would be perfect practice. I think I read somewhere that women are more fertile when they orgasm.”

He actually laughed. “You lying little minx.”

She brought his arms around her waist, then pulled her night gown off over her head. “Not even now?”

  “Tempting….”

  “Pretty please…”

  “Brooklyn…”

  “Sweet, dear, loving, accommodating husband…?”

Thirty minutes later the newlyweds in the next bungalow were startled into concern as the woman in the bungalow next to them screamed out. They relaxed and shook their heads with a knowing smile as the scream eased into her muttering a man’s name over and over again.

They thought about introducing themselves at some point; maybe even get a few tips based on what they had just heard. At least now they knew the husband’s name was Alex.
