"What if somebody hears us?" Queen asked as she gave in to his passion.
"My room's over the garage. The door is locked. The walls are sound proof. Trust me, nobody is going to hear us. Can we do this or what?"
"Like I would turn you down." Queen smiled as she unbuttoned her jeans and quickly slipped them over her hips. "No streaming. You hear me?"
"No promises." Logic mumbled as he lifted Queen up and tossed her on the bed. Instantly he buried his head between her thighs.
Moments later Queen was screaming uncontrollably. Logic gave her a pillow to muffle the sound as he continued to eat her like she was his mom's homemade, hot apple pie, ala mode. As she erupted again he entered her rough and ready and then skillfully guided their bodies to nirvana. They lay in each others arms without a care in the world before rejoining the dinner party an hour later.
Queen half expected for her mom to give her the evil eye when they resurfaced. But nobody seemed to care. In fact her dad actually gave Logic a little wink.
"What the hell is going on? Have I been sucked into the Twilight Zone?" Queen thought to herself.
She would soon find out. Dinner was uneventful. Well, at least until Logic's father stood up to make a toast.
"I'd like to thank everyone for joining us for dinner tonight. This is really a very special occasion for us because our son Logic and his stunning girlfriend, Queen are home from college. They're both in their senior year at FDC in Atlanta, Georgia. I'm not going to detain you any longer, because I really just stood to tell my son in front of all of you how extremely proud I am, well we are, of the man that he has become. Logic you know how much we love you. And we just want to let you how extraordinarily proud we are to call you our son. I wish nothing but the best for you son. Good luck and a world of happiness. Everybody, please join me as I salute my son and his beautiful woman." Everyone clinked their glasses. "Logic would you like to say something?"
Queen looked at Logic who was wiping tears. She'd never seen Logic cry. It was uncomfortable for her to watch. She held his hand and squeezed it for support as he stood beside her to speak. She had not even realized that tears had also pooled in her eyes. Suddenly she felt afraid even though she wasn't sure why. She clung desperately to Logic as she wiped the tears from her face.
"Thanks Dad and Mom. I love you both, so very much. I know that everybody wants to move on to the desert round, so I'm not going to prolong things. God I'm so nervous. Give me a second." Logic said as he tried to regain his composure.
Queen rubbed his arm for support. "It's okay baby. Take your time."
"Okay... here I go." Logic said as he faced Queen, dropped to one knee and took her hand. "Queen I've been in love with you since the first day I saw you walking your dog on my block way back in the sixth grade. We've been through a lot over the past year. And there was a time when I thought that I had lost you. But we're back and I just wanted to know.... will you marry me?"
Logic had rocked her from the moment he took her hand and dropped to a knee. Queen covered her eyes with her free hand and wept like a newborn. She never even saw him present the ring.
"Queen, don't cry. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life proving to you how much I do. Please say yes."
Queen knew that everyone was looking at her waiting for a response. She couldn't believe Logic put her on the spot like that. So she sucked up the tears and stared him in his eyes. His eyes were leaking tears and they pleaded with her to just say yes. She looked over at her parents. Her mom and her dad were snotting and wiping fresh tears and so were Logic's parents. She looked back at Logic. He was so nervous and scared that he was shaking. Queen knew that he had put himself out there for her time and time again. And she was not going to repay the favor by leaving him out there alone.
"Logic, I've loved you since the day you followed me home and asked me to be your girl. The same day that you saw me walking my dog on your block. So, yes, of course I'll marry you."
The room burst into cheers and applauds. Logic grabbed her and kissed her passionately, and then he nervously slipped a ring on Queen's finger. "I hope you like it." He said as he kissed her lips.
Queen caught a glimpse of the ring for the very first time. "Oh my God! Logic... You can't afford this..."
Logic interrupted her with a hot wet kiss. "Don't worry about it. I got a real good deal on it."
Queen threw her arms around his neck and kissed him back, sucking his tongue deep into her mouth. "I love it, but I love you more. Thank you." Queen said before she held up her three carat, princess cut, diamond ring set in platinum, for all to see.
The sounds of laughter and joy and champagne corks popping could be heard as the dinner party instantly transformed into an engagement celebration. The newly engaged couple appeared jubilant as they celebrated with their family and friends. As Queen's mom admired her beautiful engagement ring she whispered discreetly in her daughter's ear. "I just want to know one thing. What do you want me to do with your flowers?"
"Throw them away." Queen whispered in her mom's ear. "I don't need them anymore."
"That's my girl. That's exactly what I wanted to hear you say. Congratulations sweetheart. I'll just move them into the guest bedroom. They're too pretty to toss out."
Queen sighed and thought to herself. "If only it was that easy to resolve my real issues."
Queen had a big smile on her face, but inside she was silently crying the tears of a clown.
CHAPTER 31
Queen admired her ring as they drove to her parent's home the next day. Now that they were engaged Logic's mom had opened up her home to the happy couple and put them up in the second master bedroom. Although Queen had reservations and mixed feelings about their supposed engagement it did come with some perks. She missed falling asleep every night in Logic's arms, especially after mind blowing, earth trembling gorilla love. Oh yeah and the ice on her finger was a major perk.
"Are you happy?" Logic asked as he watched Queen play with her engagement ring.
She looked at him and smiled. "Yes. But, you know that you were wrong for this. What were you thinking?"
"I know Queen, but I'm just not willing to lose you again. So, I put all of my cards on the table. I want you to know that you're not just another girl to me. But, that you're the woman that I plan to marry. So, when you decide to choose between Paul and me..."
"I think that's what I did last night." Queen interrupted.
"What? What did you do last night? Did you talk to Paul?"
"No. I made my choice when I said yes to you."
"Are you seriously going to marry me?"
"Of course I am. Did you think I just said yes for the hell of it?"
"Actually I thought you said yes to keep me from being humiliated in front of my family."
"Yeah and that is why you don't make public proposals when you're not sure of the answer." Queen laughed. "Look Logic, all jokes aside, I love you. And over the past few weeks I've rediscovered why I fell in love with you in the first place. I'm in love with you and I'm not going to give that up."
"Queen I love you too and I'm going to spend the rest of my life showing you just how much."
"I don't know what I would have done if you weren't in Atlanta with me. I guess everything does happen for a reason."
"Speaking of Atlanta, have you told our friends?"
"You're as funny as hell." Queen laughed.
"Well did you at least tell Jade?"
"No, I haven't figured out how to bring it up. You have to admit that the whole thing is bizarre. I'll tell her when I see her. If she doesn't see the ring, she'll never believe it. Hell I can't even believe it."
"It is kind of crazy. You know that Paul is going to beat my ass, right?"
"I wish I could tell you that that's not true. But yeah, the truth is he's going to beat my ass when I tell him. And then he's cold going to knock you the fuck out." Queen laughed.
"I got a box of 9mm slugs that beg to differ. He can knoc
k me out, I don't care. But he better not even think about touching you. I hope it doesn't come to that. We just got to the point where we were all cool. It would be a shame to go back to square one."
"I don't even want to think about it. Thank God I have another week before spring break is over and I have to face him."
Unfortunately Queen didn't have as much time as she anticipated. The moment they walked into her parent's home Queen came face to face with her worst nightmare, Logic, Teddy and Paul all in the same room at the same time. And each one of them were looking at her like she was a delicious pussy sandwich and they all were ravenous.
"Hello, Mye Queen." Paul stood and greeted her with a hug and a box of a dozen red roses.
"Oh my God! What are you doing here? Thank you. They're beautiful." Queen said as she hugged him and kissed him on the lips.
Paul whispered in her ear. "Not nearly as beautiful as you."
Logic pretended not to notice or care as he slapped hands with Teddy and gave him some dap. "What's up man? It's good to see you."
"Not much man. Good to see you too." Teddy replied before turning his focus back to Queen. I have something for you too Mye Queen."
"Hey Teddy Bear. What do you have for me?" Queen asked as she hugged him and kissed him on his lips as well.
Teddy reached in his jacket pocket and pulled out a Sugar Daddy caramel sucker. "I know how much you love them. I got it when we stopped in Virginia. Oh yeah and I got you this too." Teddy said as he handed Queen a small gift bag. Inside was a small, delicate, crystal Teddy Bear figurine, which was holding a red crystal heart.
"Oh, it’s so cute. Thank you Bear. I love it." Queen said as she hugged him again. "This was sweet of you."
"Queen, I thought I heard you two come in. I told them that you'd be home any minute. They just got here a little while ago." Queen's mother said as she emerged from the kitchen with a tray of lemonade.
"How did you know where I lived?" Queen asked completely shocked to see them.
"Jade showed us."
"Jade's with you?" Logic asked as he greeted Paul and gave him some dap. Oddly enough, both Paul and Teddy seemed genuinely happy to see Logic. Well at least for now.
"Yeah, she rode up with us." Paul replied.
"The real question is, what are you doing here?" Queen asked as she helped her mother with the tray of cold lemonade.
"We missed you. So we gassed up the Escalade and here we are." Paul explained.
"So where is Jade?" Queen asked.
She didn't have to wait for an answer as Jade emerged from the powder room.
"Thank God we got here when we did. I was about to bust. I couldn't have held it another second."
"You missed me that much, huh trick?" Queen joked.
"Oh my God Queen! When did you get here?" Jade exclaimed as she rushed over and hugged her best friend. "Look at you. You're actually glowing you look so good."
"I guess a little rest and relaxation will do that for you." Queen replied as she casually turned the diamond on her engagement around to the palm of her hand. "You're talking about me. Look at you looking all divalicious. I love those shoes."
"I got them on sale at Bare Feets. You know we have to go shopping while I'm here."
"You know it. Who drove?" She asked looking at Paul who hadn't taken his eyes off of her.
"I drove the first leg and then Teddy brought it in. It's about a seven hundred mile drive from Atlanta." Paul responded with a smile.
"You don't have to tell me that's why we flew in." Queen laughed.
"I didn't know you were going with her." Paul addressed Logic.
"Last minute decision. I thought she could use some company. She's been a little down lately. Besides I had to come home and check on my folks." Logic casually answered as he took a ring side seat across the room so that he could watch the drama unfold.
"Oh yeah?" Teddy asked. "She looks pretty happy now. With emphasis on the pretty. You look good Mye Queen."
"That she does." Paul agreed.
"I'm glad you fellows find her so attractive. I'd like to think that I had a little to do with that." Queen's dad interjected as he entered the family room. "Hi I'm Queen's dad, Robert.
"Hey Papa Queen." Jade said as she went over to hug Queen's father.
"Miss Jade you get more beautiful every time I see you."
Jade giggled. "Why thank you I do my best."
"So who are these two?" Mr. Queen asked.
Paul and Teddy immediately stand up to greet Queen's dad. "Good to meet you sir." I'm Paul Crown and this is Teddy Davine. We're good friends of Queen's from FDC.
"Good to meet you two. You guys play with Logic right?"
"Yes sir."
"Queen's told me all about you."
"Not everything..." Jade mumbled beneath her breath. Queen quickly elbows her in her side.
"Well the games about to come on. Sit down and have a beer with me." Mr. Queen invited.
They all relaxed and took their seats as Mr. Queen turned the game on. Paul watched Queen's every move. And Logic watched Paul watching Queen's every move until he couldn't take it anymore.
"I’d better run." He announced.
"Nonsense sit down and finish watching the game son." Mr. Queen urged. "Did y'all tell them the good news?"
Queen's heart stopped. Luckily Logic jumped right in. "Not yet it's still a surprise."
"Oh okay. I didn't know. Well sit back down. The game's just getting good."
"What good news?" Teddy asked.
"We'll tell you later after the game goes off." Logic casually replied.
Queen sighed a brief sigh of relief. She knew her time was up. Sooner or later she was going to have to talk to Paul, Teddy, and even Logic. The question was what would she say? All of her free love, oh me so horny, she gotta have it bullshit had finally caught up with her ass. There was no escape. It was time to face her victims.
Though Jade did not personally fall prey to Queen's web of lies and deceit Queen decided to come clean to her first and solicit some much needed advice.
"Jade come upstairs with me. I have to show you something." Queen urged as she lead Jade upstairs to her room.
"I was wondering how long you were going to last down there. What's up?"
"You know that I should strangle you right?" Queen calmly said as she closed and locked the bedroom door.
"What? What did I do?"
"Jade, why the hell did you bring them up here?"
"Paul told me that you two were getting back together. He missed you and he couldn't wait. What's the problem?"
"But Jade, I didn't mention one word to you about getting back with Paul. I told you that we talked and I had to think about it."
"So you're not going back to him?"
"No, I'm not. And even if I wanted to, I can't. Look, I need to tell you something."
"Queen please don't tell me that you're pregnant. You're not pregnant are you?"
"Worse, I'm engaged." Queen confessed as she turned her engagement ring back around for Jade to see.
"What the fuck is this? Oh my God! Look at this thing. Is this what I think it is?"
"A token of Logic's eternal love and affection?"
"No, a two and a half carat princess cut diamond set in platinum."
"Three carats, but you were close." Queen smiled. "Isn't it stunning?" Queen beamed as she proudly displayed her ring.
"Queen... What the hell! You're engaged to marry Logic?"
"Yeah, I guess I am."
"You guess? What the hell do you mean you guess?"
"Okay I am... I mean we're not going to get married anytime soon, but yeah we’re engaged."
Jade was blown away as she plopped down on Queen's bed. "So you're leaving Paul to be with Logic?"
"No, I'm leaving Paul to go back to Logic."
"Queen, are you sure about this?"
"Jade I'm in love with him. In retrospect I probably never fell out of love. I just shut off my feelings becau
se he hurt me. Then he came to my rescue after this shit with Zoey and Paul. Since then we've moved right back to where we were. So, when he asked me to marry him I said yes."
"Queen, Paul's going to be devastated. You know that right?"
"I know, but after he finds out what's been going down with me and Logic he won't want me any way."
"Queen, you know that's not true."
"Yeah it is. And when Logic finds out about me and Teddy he probably won't want me either." Queen sighed.
"So how will Logic find that out if you don't tell him?"
"Jade I have to tell him. I don't want to build our marriage on a lie. I can't do it. It will haunt me for the rest of my life. I'm going to come clean."
"What about Teddy?"
"Yeah, I got to tell him the truth too."
"What did you lie to Teddy about?"
"Bear never knew that I was sleeping with Logic when we were screwing in the wildflowers. Needless to say he's going to be pissed because I cheated on him and Paul. So, what can I say? Hell, between the three of them I'll be lucky if they ever speak to me again."
"That's not true. All of them are in love with you. It's all over their face. But I must admit, Logic seems to have it the worse. He's crazy about you Queen."
"I hope you're right. Cause he ain't getting this ring back." Queen's easy laughter broke the seriousness in the air.
"That is a monster. How did he propose?"
"He proposed to me at a dinner party at his parents. He asked me in front of everybody. How could I say no?"
"So he shamed you into a yes?" Jade laughed.
"You know me better than that. I know how to say no." Queen laughed with her.
"Yeah, hell to the fuckin no! I believe that's how you like to say it."
"Jade, I've been on the fence every since I spoke to Paul. I think that this was Logic's way of trying to sway my vote from Paul to him."
"More like swing that ass from Paul back to him." Jade teased.
"Whatever it was, it worked. It made me think about the future and not about the past. So I said yes, because I don't want to live without him. Now I have to tell Paul."
