  Cass was still a virgin.

  Chapter Thirteen

Cass grimaced. She’d heard rumors that the first time hurt like hell, and they weren’t kidding. She’d felt Rory’s hesitation to continue after he’d entered her, but he hadn’t said a word and began pounding away inside her. She’d raised her butt and pushed back, causing more pain but letting him know she wanted him to continue, which he had.

She wasn’t expecting an orgasm the first time around. Yes, another thing she’d read about a woman losing her virginity.

She and Ryan had vowed to wait until their wedding night. She’d believed that Ryan would be the one to take her virginity. And now here was Rory, pulling on her nipples and thrusting and groaning and turning her into a true woman.

His breath got more labored. He panted while his thighs made loud slapping noises as they smacked against her butt. She wasn’t going to come, not like last night in the bathtub, but there was always the next time.

Rory grunted and then she felt pressure inside her pussy, sensing that he’d come. He stopped thrusting, held her, and kissed her shoulder.

“Honey, why didn’t you tell me you’d never had sex before?” He pulled out of her, and she turned around.

“Because knowing you, you wouldn’t have done it with me.”

He ran his hand down the edge of her face. “That wouldn’t have been true, but I would have made it more special, not doggy style like this.”

  “But you liked it right?”

  “I loved it.”

He leaned over and kissed her.

“Just means you owe me an orgasm,” she said.

He laughed, put his hand under her chin and pulled it up so he could kiss her again.

“I think you should go and get cleaned up and then we both need to get some sleep because we have to be up early to get to Missoula by ten.”

“Are we going to sleep in the same bed now that we’ve done the deed?”

“I said we both needed sleep. With you beside me, that’s not going to happen.”

  ****

Rory didn’t regret what happened between him and Cass, but he only wished he’d known that it was her first time. He’d never been with a virgin before. Yeah, it had been quite the experience but then just being inside Cass would have been special.

He helped her into the truck. The sun was just coming up over the horizon, and he’d hazard a guess that it was going to be a beautiful Big Sky day. He closed the passenger door, walked around to the driver’s side, and got in.

“Hopefully, my leg will be healed enough to have this damn thing removed today,” said Cass as they headed onto the main road. They waved to Flynn who was riding his horse in the pasture. He lifted his hat and waved it at them.

Rory wanted her leg to get better, but at the same time he hoped it would be a slow road to complete recovery. That she’d stay just a little dependent upon, and by the time she was ready to go back to Tacoma, she wouldn’t want to.

“Have I told you thanks for everything you’ve done so far?” she asked him.

He turned to look at her. “You never have to thank me. It’s what the Malones do for one another.”

  “But I’m not a Malone.”

“You were going to be, and that’s what counts.”

And the reason I should feel even guiltier about doing what I did last night.

Would he keep it a secret from his brothers? Would Cass say anything to Lacey or Natalie?

He pulled his shirt away from his Adam’s apple. It suddenly felt tight, and the truck super-hot.

He cranked open the window a tad and then took a sly glance at Cass. Neither of them had said anything about last night. Was she regretting it and hence the reason for her silence?

“Is it okay if I turn on the radio?” she asked.

She’d always loved music. He remembered Ryan buying her CDs for her birthday.

  “Sure.”

Cass leaned over and pressed the button. It was set to his favorite station. A little music and a lot of talk about local issues, beef prices…

“No way,” she said switching stations quickly to one playing a song he’d never heard before, but Cass knew every single word and moved in her seat in time to the music.

Was it because of their age difference? Or was he just not into all the new tunes?

Another song came on. “Oh, I love this one,” she said cranking up the volume.

He laughed as she moved to the left and then to the right and clicked her fingers in perfect time.

“Just think when you have your cast removed you’ll be able to dance again,” he said.

“Let’s go dancing at Bill’s Bar.”

Rory hadn’t danced there for years. When he was about Cass’s age he was there every week, beer in hand, picking up some local girl and dancing the night away with her. There had been a lot of women, but strangely no one he’d ever wanted to really settle down with. Had he been too picky or was he waiting for someone like Cass?

“You know what else we’ll be able to do when the cast comes off?” she asked.

“Do yoga every morning with me?”

She looked at him. He could see puzzlement on her face not sure if he was messing with her.

“You don’t do that, do you?” she said.

“Sure, haven’t you heard of Cowboy Yoga? Big hit at Bill’s these days.”

She opened her mouth to say something but then he burst out laughing, and she smacked his arm.

“I had you believing that was true, didn’t I?”

  “You did not.”

He winked at her and nodded.

“I was thinking of something more physical than yoga.”

He knew what she was referring to. They had another hour’s car ride so a hard on was the last thing he needed.

“They say the first time you have sex after your first time, the orgasm is off the charts.”

“Man does that put pressure on a guy or what,” said Rory.

“I think you’ll do just fine big boy.”

She put her hand on his thigh and then slipped it onto his crotch.

“Cass, hey, don’t or we’ll end up in a ditch, and I’ll be in a cast too.”

  “You have an erection.”

“Yes, I do, and your hand on my dick isn’t helping it one little bit. Now listen to the music and look out the window and take in the Montana scenery and think about every great thing you’d be missing if you were foolish enough to go back to Tacoma.”

  ****

The good news was the cast had been taken off. The bad news was they’d put a brace on because one of the breaks in her leg still needed a little more time to heal. But at least she could shower, and yes, make love in any position Rory wanted her in.

They’d had a wonderful lunch in Missoula. Salmon, mashed potatoes, and green beans then followed by chocolate cake.

Cass looked out of the window and saw Rory and Flynn heading into the stables with their horses. The sun was setting low in the sky, and there was a slight chill to the air. Fall had arrived, and it had always been her favorite season in Montana. The colors changing on the trees on the mountains. The valley ablaze with reds and oranges, and the sky so blue and clear. Winter and the holidays would be here before they realized it.

She rubbed her hands over her arms as she watched Rory say goodnight to Flynn and head up the path to the house.

Rory clapped his hands as he stepped inside and kicked off his cowboy boots.

“You want to help out on the ranch tomorrow and feed the horses for me?” he asked.

“Sure, you know I said I’d earn my keep.”

“It’s just for the day while Flynn takes Natalie to the hospital for her check-up.”

“I think that’s going to be exciting for them. I mean having a baby right before Christmas.”

  Rory nodded.

“And if you’d like me to stick around to help out when Natalie has her baby…I mean so Flynn can take time off to be with t
hem, I’d be happy to do it.”

“Does that mean you’re beginning to love our little town again?”

“I never stopped loving it. And no, don’t go reading anything into it, okay.”

  ****

Rory could tell that the wall that Cass had built around herself these last three years were slowly starting to crumble. She hadn’t looked the other way when they’d driven by the spot where her father’s house once stood. He believed that she’d even been to Ryan’s grave without telling him because his mother had said some fresh flowers had been set there. She’d fit in perfectly at Shane’s dinner to celebrate his success at being re-elected county sheriff for a third term.

They were all good signs, but at the same time the only thing that had kept her together had been that barrier, and now she was flying solo with no safety net.

He watched as she brushed the horse. Each stroke making him think about her hands on his body. She turned around as if she knew he was observing her.

“I know what you’re trying to do,” she said as he stood behind her.

  “And what would that be?”

“You want me to fall in love with the ranch and never want to leave.”

“Anyone who came here just for a day could easily do that. And I guess there’s no point in me offering you your own horse…should you ever want to stay.”

She turned around, mouth open, and he knew what was coming next, so he wanted to prevent one little word from spilling off her tongue.

He kissed her. It had taken the wind out of her—he could tell by the way she drew in her breath. She wrapped her arms around him, and he lifted so her feet were dangling slightly. She ran her hands through his hair, exciting every nerve ending not only in his scalp, but his whole body.

One of his fantasies had always been to make love in the hay loft above the stables. Had been since he’d been a horny teenager, but he’d never found the right female to accompany him there. Well, that was until now.

He lifted her up and carried her toward the ladder. When they arrived at the bottom rung, he put her down.

“Up you go, and don’t worry about falling because I’m right here ready to catch you.”

He hoped that she knew he wasn’t just referring to her falling off the ladder. If she needed his help in other parts of her life, he was her safety net.

She didn’t hesitate and put her foot on the first rung. He slapped her butt as she got half way up.

“Just what are we going to do up here?” She turned around and gave him a cheeky look.

“Move hay,” he said tilting his hat back so she could see his face.

When she was safely up, he mounted the steps and by the time he was at the top she was sitting on a bale of hay.

She took off her shoes, unstrapped her brace and set it down on the floor.

  “Your leg feel okay?”

“Yep. I’m guessing they’re let me take it off on my next doctor’s appointment.”

He knelt and unzipped her jeans, pulling them down her legs and off her body. He ran his hands up over them, the muscular calves, and those gorgeous thighs. Slowly he grabbed the top of her panties and pulled them down her legs, gradually freeing her ankles of them.

Rory pushed her legs apart as she leaned back, resting on her elbows. He didn’t know whether to look at her face or her pussy. Both were equally enticing.

He kissed her and put his hand over her mound, massaging it until she groaned. He let his index finger slip down over her pubic bone and graze her clit. He glanced up to see her bite her lip as he ran his finger around the nub’s edges. Cass drew in her breath and whispered for more.

She raised her butt upward and then cried out making him do only one thing, and that was push his middle finger inside her channel as his thumb continued to rub her clit.

“Rory, Rory. This is the best thing you’ve done to me.”

It was almost as if she was drifting off to sleep, her eyes rolling back in her head and her body bucking up and down as he gave her what he called his double play. He’d only done this to one woman before, and she’d come the closest to anyone else in becoming Mrs. Rory Malone.

Cass put her finger in her mouth and sucked as she bucked up and then screamed out, her pussy clenched his finger like it was going to be crushed, and her juices trickled down the back of his hand.

He wanted the foreplay to last longer, but he knew he couldn’t. He had to be inside her soon.

  ****

Cass loved the feel of the hay on her bare back and butt as she lay spread eagle with Rory pinning her down by her wrists with his cock deep inside her. He was sweating now, little beads of perspiration making its way to her body. His chest rubbed against her nipples, making them hard and sensitive as he pounded harder into her channel.

Rory was a great lover. He took control and was bossy about what he wanted from her, and that’s exactly what she hoped he’d do. He led, and she willingly followed.

She ran her heel up the back of his calves, feeling a pulling and burning sensation building in her belly. Sex was great, and she regretted leaving it this long to find that out. But then again, maybe it was so great because it was Rory who was fucking her.

Blood gathered in her pussy, and by now she knew when she was on the edge of her orgasm. The time when she wasn’t quite there, but she knew it was on the horizon. Her favorite thing about having sex.

She lifted her butt to greet his next thrust and there it was; the fireworks, the burst of light and dear God, it was the most wonderful thing in the world.

Rory’s breath grew labored and then he groaned, and all she could feel was pressure and warmth inside her.

“I’d like to stay inside you for a little while,” he said.

“I think I’d like that too.”

He took his weight by raising himself up a little on his elbows. They rubbed noses as his cock still filled her channel.

“So you think you’ll be staying for Christmas?” he asked her.

  “You want me to?”

  He nodded before kissing her.

“Rory is that you up there?”

It was Marie, and she was in the stables.

Rory blushed. Cass loved seeing him do that.

“Yes, Mom, you need something?” he called back.

“I was just looking for Cass.”

“She’s up here with me. We were moving some hay for the horses,” said Rory.

“When your father and I were your age we called it making whoopee,” said Marie.

Cass laughed, and Rory bit his lip.

  “Hi Marie,” said Cass.

“Hi honey. I just wondered if you’re coming to the craft party tonight?”

  “I sure am.”

“Okay, then I’ll see you there.”

Rory rested his head on Cass’s cheek and they both burst out laughing.

  ****

Rory didn’t know if his mother had told either Shane or Flynn about the incident in the stables earlier that day. If she had, they hadn’t said anything or were being coy. Maybe they were waiting for him to bring up the subject, but he was keeping it to himself.

“The doctor said the baby’s turned into the birth canal so Natalie could go into labor at any time now,” said Flynn breaking opening some peanuts and dropping the shells on the table. He popped them into his mouth and chewed.

“If you need Lacey and me to look after Emily while she’s having the baby, you know we’d be happy to. And did I tell you what Liam did the other day?” asked Shane.

Rory took a deep breath. If the boy’s night out was going to continue in this fashion, which he guessed it might once Flynn became a father again, he’d opt to stay at home and read a good book. Before they’d gotten married and had babies, they’d talked about fishing, football, and the ranch, but now he felt left out.

Flynn was laughing, and he guessed Shane had shared something mildly amusing about his son while Rory had been miles away thinking how their lives changed in t
he last twelve months. Shane had met and married Lacey and had a baby. Emily’s real mom had shown up out of the blue and made Flynn fall head over heels. And Cass was back in Timber Creek.

“So Rory, Cass’s been helping you out while Flynn’s been spending more time with Natalie?”

“Mom’s told you, hasn’t she?” said Rory.

Shane and Flynn looked at one another. It had been an innocent enough question, but he’d foolishly jumped the gun. Probably because he felt partly guilty about being with Cass, and partly because his own mother had walked in on them post sex.

  “Told us what?” asked Flynn.

Shane knocked his arm. “Don’t stop now. Is there something we should know?”

Rory lifted the beer bottle and took a long sip. “I’ve been…”

  “You’ve been what?” asked Flynn.

  “I’ve been sleeping with Cass.”

Both of them looked at him. He’d stepped over the line and broken the family honor code. Is that what they were about to tell him?

“When did this happen?” asked Flynn.

“Not long after she got here and I’m sorry, okay?”

“What’s there to be sorry about? Cass’s a wonderful young woman,” said Shane.

  “She’s also our brother’s ex-fiancé,” said Rory.

“She was, but that doesn’t make you a bad guy. I think Ryan would prefer to see her with you than someone who didn’t respect her and care so much about her.”

  They had a point.

“So let me get this straight. Mom knew about this, but not us?” asked Flynn.

“She walked in on me and Cass this afternoon while we were up in the hay loft.”

Both Flynn and Shane burst out laughing. “The hay loft?” asked Shane. “You know how many girls I’ve had up there?”

Rory pushed his hand through his hair. Now that made it seem even worse.

Shane slapped the back of his hand as Flynn’s cell phone rang.

  “Hello…okay, I’ll be right there.”

Flynn stood. “It’s Natalie. Her water broke and looks like she’s in labor at the craft store.”

“You want us to come with you?” asked Rory.

“I can give you a police escort to the hospital,” said Shane.

“What would I do without you two?”
