Dungeon Guild Page 19

by Jonathan Brooks

“Hi,” Devin said. Smooth, moron. “It’s good to finally see you again. It’s been hard only being able to talk to you without seeing you – it was like having a long-distance relationship.” Stuttering, he tried to correct himself, “Not that we’re in a relationship, or anything. Unless you want to be, or something. You know the way I feel about you and you’re free to choose what you want to do. No pressure – just as long as you know that you’ll always be the one for me. Whether or not its reciprocated doesn’t matter.” Realizing he was rambling, he took a deep breath before continuing, “I love you Krista, and I want to stay near you whether or not you feel the same way. There, that’s all I have to say.”

Krista approached him and said, “I love you too, moron. I think I always have – I just never thought of you that way before we came here. You’ve changed so much over the last couple of months and I think it’s been for the better. I’m proud of the person you’ve become – my friend, my champion, my hero. Come here, you big lug.” She slid into his arms and Devin felt complete for the first time in his life. They hugged for what seemed like forever but was more like a couple of minutes.

Devin, still in his Dragonkin body, looked down at Krista and said, “Wanna go watch me kill some people?”

“You know I do,” she looked up at him with a mischievous grin on her face.

“It’s a date,” Devin responded happily.

  Author’s Note

Well, that’s it, the trilogy is finally complete – although I may revisit Glendaria in the future in another book or two. Nothing is off the table for now, but I’m planning on starting the writing for a different series in the next couple of weeks.

I hope everyone enjoyed the adventures of Krista, Devin, and the Reckless guild. If you liked it, please leave a review on Amazon. If you loved it, definitely leave a review on Amazon. If you didn’t like it, I’m always open to constructive criticism.
