Brent pulled away slightly so he could look into her face. Questions hovered in his eyes and, behind them, the flicker of enthusiasm for Mason’s idea. “What do you think, baby?”

Pleasure washed over her. He was asking her opinion before he committed. If she said no, she knew without a doubt that he wouldn’t do it. He’d walk away from something he wanted to do, just because she didn’t want him to.

Oh, Lord, how did I ever manage to find someone like him?

She knew the answer before the question had finished forming in her mind. She hadn’t found him. God had, and He’d guided Brent to trust her when she most needed help.

“I think it’s a terrific idea,” she said.

She saw her own smile reflected in her fiancé’s eyes in the moment before he swept her into a kiss.

  Dear Reader,

One of the best parts of being a writer is doing the research. Of course, I love setting my books in fun places, because then I have an excuse for visiting! Even though I’m not a gambler, Las Vegas is an inspiring city full of incredible sights and experiences. I had to rein myself in when I wrote Dangerous Impostor, because I wanted to describe them all, even the places that didn’t have a part in the story.

Celebrity impersonators are fascinating people, and Vegas is full of them. Elvis, of course, is everywhere. When I first got the idea for this book, it was going to be about an Elvis impersonator. I had a great time posing for pictures with old Elvis and young Elvis, with slim Elvis and puffy Elvis. That story didn’t work out, but the idea of impersonators grew until I’d built an entire Las Vegas Casino around the theme. The Hollywood Hotel and Casino is totally fictitious, but I think it’s a terrific idea, don’t you?

I hope you’ve enjoyed this story, and the sights and sounds of Las Vegas, Nevada. I’d love to know what you think!   Questions for Discussion

Have you ever been accused of something you didn’t do? If so, how were your feelings similar to Lauren’s? How were they different?

When Lauren begins to feel an attraction to Brent, she refuses to let herself give in to her feelings because of her past relationship with her former boss. Are office romances ever appropriate? What are the risks involved?

Lauren is also reluctant to rely on Brent to help her out of trouble. Why?

Several celebrity impersonators make an appearance in Dangerous Impostor. Which one would you like to meet in person?

As evidence against Lauren stacks up, Brent is increasingly suspicious, but he persists in believing her. Why? Have you ever chosen to trust your instincts rather than facts?

Who did you suspect of killing Frank, and why?

In order to avoid drawing notice, Brent tells Lauren several times, “Just act like you belong.” Does that work in real life?

Lauren has always operated under the premise that “The Lord helps those who help themselves.” Brent believes that the Lord sends help when we need it. Do you think either of these opinions is better than the other?

Lauren is not entirely comfortable with the neighborhood Caleb lives in or with the people he welcomes into his home. Why? Is there any evidence that she changes her opinion?

Which character did you find most appealing?
