His hand cupped my other breast and gently massaged it. His fingers played with my nipple, then pulled gently at it.
I hissed. The slight pain was pleasurable when mixed with the feeling of his mouth sucking on my other breast.
He growled at me and his mouth did a slow exploration down to my belly. He raised up and started removing my pants. He pulled everything down and then all the way off.
I was completely nude on the bed in front of him. He stood up and started removing his jacket and shirt. He did it slowly while he watched me squirm in anticipation. I was hot for him and he knew it. The smirk on his face told me that he was enjoying my distress.
I yanked on the cuffs again. My breath was coming out in pants and I kept rubbing my thighs together as I became more aroused.
“Holden, please,” I begged.
He just kept smirking at me as he undid his pants and let then fall to the floor. I could see the rigid outline of his erection against his boxers. Then I saw it in the flesh as he slid his boxers off. His chest was a mass of muscles that tapered into his hips. He took hold of his huge shaft and started stroking it.
“Holden!”
He looked down at his own hand massaging himself and then back up at me.
“You want this?” he asked.
“Yes,” I squirmed. Watching him was increasing my unreleased discomfort ten-fold. His hand squeezed and I could see a drop of pre-cum on the tip.
I bit my lip looking at it. My body was aching.
“No more crazy shit. Say it.”
“No more! Please, Holden.”
“You’re mine. Say it.”
“Yours!” I cried out.
“You pull anything else, you’re going on a dick diet. I can do this all day. Just watch you squirm from wanting it. Turns me the fuck on.”
“I won’t! Please.”
He chuckled, “Please what?”
“Holden, I need you! Please fuck me.”
He crawled onto the bed and stopped. Still out of reach he looked like he was thinking.
The man was trying to torture me.
“Hmm,” he said and tilted his head. He reached out, tugged my hip to the side, and rolled me onto my stomach.
I let out a small moan in anticipation as he lifted me up on my knees. My head was bent toward the bed where I was shackled.
He ran a hand over my ass and smacked it once. His other hand moved my hair out of my face and I looked back at him with half closed lids. He leaned over me, scattered kisses along the back of my neck and cheek. Then I felt him thrust into my wet folds.
He let out a loud groan and I gasped at the sudden invasion.
He pulled slowly out, nearly to the tip and then rammed back in. My body reacted by clamping around him and sending bolts of pleasure up my back. He kissed my face again, lifted behind me, grabbed my hips and started a frantic rhythm.
My back arched and I pressed back into him, allowing him to fully sink into me with each thrust. My body was aching and hot. I moaned as he drove us to the edge.
I could hear the rhythm of our bodies colliding and his grunts of pleasure. His musky scent filled my nose.
He growled, “Come for me, wife.”
I screamed in ecstasy as I exploded around him. He increased his unrelenting pace and my core once again started to burn.
When I found my release again, he buried himself deep within me and roared. “Fuck!”
He pumped into me a few more times, then gently leaned over, guiding our wasted bodies to the bed. He lay behind me breathing against my neck. His heart was beating as fast as mine. Still connected he buried his head in my neck and sucked hard at the side of it.
After a few minutes of this attention, he reached out, grabbed the keys and removed the cuffs. They had nearly been forgotten during our ravenous coupling. The teasing and torturing he had done while I was unable to do anything had only heightened my hunger for him.
His arm slid around my waist and a hand cupped one of my breasts.
“You’re so sexy when you moan babe,” he mumbled beside me. “You start singing.”
I yawned, “Do I?”
“Yeah, fucking love it. That was hot as hell, watching you beg me. Makes me want to fuck you in every way imaginable.”
His hand massaged my breast and I could feel him getting hard again.
“If you’re going to start that again, you might as well put the cuffs back on.”
He growled and started to press further into me. “Angel, you kill me. You’re perfect.”
“Perfect for you,” I said and arched back against him.
Chapter Twenty
I put some more makeup on my face and looked in the mirror. My hair was curled for tonight’s performance. It had nearly been cancelled, earlier in the day when Holden had deviously plied me with multiple orgasms and I had fallen asleep from exhaustion. In retrospect, that was probably his intent, but thankfully Allison had appeared at the hotel room bearing gifts of makeup and a stunning lavender dress.
She had a conservative black dress for me waiting in the room, when we had come up. But she had seen the lavender one in a shop down the street and, according to her, she felt like it was a little more my style. It felt like a peace offering and I loved it.
The bottom hem hit right at my knees and had multiple layers of fabric that bounced around when I twirled in it. The top had wide straps that went over my shoulder and around the back of my neck forming a halter-top. It didn’t dip down too far and for the most part was a fairly conservative dress. I paired it with my high heels and the effect was great.
Allie had said that it would allow me to play my guitar without having to worry about too much leg showing. She had eyed Holden when she said it. He approved.
I patted some makeup on my neck. Holden had left a huge hickey there from earlier. He was obviously marking his territory. It wouldn’t have bothered me normally, but he had done it right before this particular performance. It did cover for the most part, but if you were standing close enough you could definitely see it.
There was an office that Cade used in the back of the building. It was off a hallway that led to a back entrance to the club. He had a large bathroom with a long countertop that was now cluttered with several makeup items, perfume, brushes, and hair accessories.
Liv looked over at me in the mirror. “You look fantastic!”
She and Kate had come in to help me with everything and listen to me warm up. Holden had brought my guitar with him when he had flown in to Lakefield. I was thankful because that particular guitar, I considered my lucky one. I had once gotten it signed by three different big name artists at a concert. The signatures were now faded but the guitar still sounded like it was brand new. I probably needed to replace it at some point. I had done so many fantastic performances with it, that I was loathe to give it up. Allie had secured another one for me though in case I wanted to try something new.
I had seen the setup Cade had for me when he had walked in earlier. The makeshift stage was a wide platform that nearly took up an entire side of the dancefloor. Since the dancefloor was a huge center space in the room, it would be easy for the entire audience to see me from both sides and from upstairs.
Aiden had taken over the balcony area. He, Liv, Kate, Allie, Cade, half the security team, and several of their approved guests had the luxury of their own wait staff and open bar when they were up there. It looked like a billionaire night out. In reality, the “approved guests” were security members brought in from other teams for the event, that Holden managed in other cities. They looked like partygoers but they were all packing weapons. If things got weird I was just going to duck behind a bar until the shooting stopped. There was probably enough firepower in one room to make Ray jealous. All they lacked was the cannon and grenades.
I thought it was overkill but Holden had insisted on it. Since I had been handcuffed to the bed again when he had told me the plan, I had been in a mood to agree to anything he wanted. Whi
ch also included, a wedding at the meadow in New Mexico, staying away from the .50 machine gun, grenades, various other items in the barn, throwing out some of my racier clothing, and getting all my things at my father’s house shipped to Holden’s home. Immediately. I also had several dozen hickeys on my chest and a bite mark on my shoulder. Luckily the dress covered most of it and the makeup hid the rest.
Liv finished her eyeliner about the same time I did.
“Ready?” She asked.
I took a deep breath. “As I’ll ever be.”
“You look fantastic. What have you done to Holden, by the way?”
I was confused. “What do you mean?”
“He’s actually smiling. Like a lot. Normally he’s so broody and growly.”
I smirked, “Oh he still growls.”
She giggled and whispered, “Kate seems nice. Very happy. We need to teach her to cuss though. She said “poop” and “darn it” earlier when the zipper jammed on her dress. It just makes me want to cuss more.”
I laughed, “Believe me I know. Is Logan coming tonight?”
She thought for a minute. “I don’t remember the guys talking about it.”
“Hmm. Okay.”
“Is she crushing on him?”
“I think so. I don’t know. They had that thing happen at the house and she hasn’t mentioned what happened.”
Liv eyed the office where Kate was talking on her phone. “Well, maybe we can make her a pet project.”
“Agreed. Selfie time! KATE, get in here!”
Kate came walking back in her green dress. We all lined up in front of my cell, grinning like mad and giving our best dazzling smiles.
I snapped a few and forwarded them to Brock with a message.
Julia: You should get out of the cave more asshole.
Liv laughed at the message. Kate giggled. Even though she had never met Brock, we had filled her in with stories.
My phone beeped. Message from Brock.
Brock: Why? I can just look at you lovely ladies from the video cameras here.
Liv, Kate and I looked around for the camera in the office and finally found it tucked in the corner of the room.
I looked at Liv, she had gone pale. Kate did too. We had all been getting ready in the room earlier. We hadn’t been nude, but there had been poking, prodding, readjusting, leg showing and general goofing around.
I texted him back.
Julia: Perv
Brock: Always! Tell Kate hello.
Julia: Forget her. Where’s Logan?
Brock: Knock, Knock.
There was a knock at the office door before Holden walked in, followed by Aiden and Logan. Brock really did have eyes everywhere.
I narrowed my eyes in the general direction of the camera.
Aiden walked over to Liv and brushed her hair back over her shoulder. “Hey, babe. Let’s get back up there before they start letting people in. You all done?”
She nodded at him, grabbed him by the collar of his suit, and pulled him down for a long, hot kiss.
He cleared his throat afterward and smiled like he had won the lotto. As they left, Liv threw her middle finger up at the camera.
Holden and Logan looked at me in confusion. I wasn’t sure what Logan would do, if anything, but Holden would probably try to shoot Brock if I told him. So, I shrugged at them and pretended not to know anything.
Kate was fidgeting at my side so I turned to her. She was trying not to look at Logan. While Logan couldn’t take his eyes off her.
“I’m just going to go get my makeup and get my stuff together,” she said quietly. She seemed really down. For the last hour she had been smiling and hyper but one look at Logan and she was nearly upset.
I glared at Logan when she left. His eyes were glazed over a little as he watched her go. He looked drunk. He waited for a few minutes then left without saying anything.
I turned to Holden, “What the fuck?”
He shrugged, “No clue, I think he’s had a couple of drinks. He’s here with someone but I don’t know who she is.”
My heart hurt for Kate. She hadn’t quite voiced her interest in the doctor but it was very apparent to me. If she saw Logan with someone else, it would hurt.
Holden ran his fingers through my hair. “That brain of yours is stewing on something. Stop meddling.”
I smiled at him. “Think you can read my mind?”
“Hmm, not sure I want to know everything on your mind. It might involve taking you to the closet and pounding some more sense into you. My cock being the “sense” part of that.”
I smirked at him. “You’re so vulgar.”
He laughed. “Are you ready for this?”
“I think so. Would you be disappointed in me if I just wanted to walk out of here and never wanted to perform another concert again?”
He slid his hand around my waist and lifted my chin to look in to his eyes. “Never. Not one ounce of disappointment.”
“Okay,” I said and leaned up to kiss him.
Our mouths met and slanted against each other in a hot wet tangle of tongues.
He growled, “It’s going to be a choice of the closet or the desk soon if we don’t stop.”
I smiled at him. “We can’t anyway, Brock is watching.”
Holden grimaced and looked for the camera. “Motherfucker.”
I laughed. “Are they ready out there?”
He growled. “Yeah, I’m sure they are by now, let’s go. I swear I’m going to beat the shit out of him when I see him again. I think he’s coming to the wedding.”
I rolled my eyes and glanced back at Kate in the bathroom. She was loading the last of her makeup in her bag and smiled at me. “Kate, it’s time. I need my girl with me.”
She laughed, “I don’t think you really need anyone Julia, you just like having me around. I haven’t even gotten you one water or helped at all.”
I thought about it for a second. “Uhm, look, my throat is a little dry. Can you get me some water when we get out there?”
She laughed and preceded us through the door.
As we made our way down the hall I could hear the clamor of a full club ahead of us. The lights were turned low and the music subdued. My stomach was in knots. It always made me nervous to perform in front of even the smallest of groups, much less the crowd size that the club could hold.
I stopped at the threshold of the room, watching Kate weaving through the mass of people and head to the bar for my water. I looked up at the balcony to catch Liv and Aiden kissing again. Logan was standing in the shadows behind them with a redheaded woman hanging off his shoulder. He didn’t seem interested in either her or the event and kept looking at the crowd below. Cade was on the stairs to the balcony, leaning up against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest. He occasionally nodded at people but his eyes scanned everything in the room.
Holden squeezed my hip and I turned to look at him.
He gazed down at me with his golden, brown eyes. “Nervous? We don’t have to do this.”
I looked back at the room of crowded faces and for a moment felt hesitant. This wasn’t the first time I had performed. I knew once I got out there and started strumming, I would find my groove. It was doing this in front of friends that made it significant. The type that would support me regardless of how good or bad tonight turned out. It was Holden beside me, accepting of my talents. I knew if I went on to bigger things, they would all stand behind me.
The threat of Roger was insignificant in this moment, even though he was the main catalyst that had brought all of us together tonight.
“I’m good. If you’re here with me I’m good.”
He smiled. “Always.”
Allison announced me on stage and the crowd started cheering.
I walked out with Holden’s hand on my back, smiling at people and waving.
Settling on the chair in the middle of the platform, I grabbed my lucky guitar and started running through some chords. Kate and Allison were s
tanding off to the left. Kate with a smile on her face and a bottled water that she shook a couple of times. Allison with a proud look in her eyes.
Holden had positioned himself to my right. Within a safe distance but also back from the lights that centered around me.
I tapped the mic and leaned forward. “Glad you could make it.”
The crowd screamed in anticipation.
I looked out at their smiling faces and started strumming. “So, someone recently told me that music endures. I’m going to play a few older covers tonight, for that person. Then a couple of originals that I’ve never performed before. You’ll be the first to hear them. Lucky you!”
The crowd screamed again. I scanned the room and found my friends. No sign of Roger.
“First,” I said, standing up and adjusting the mic to a taller height, “I would like to dedicate this one to my husband.”
I glanced over to Holden, who was giving me an amused but speculative look.
“He’s an ass sometimes but I love him.”
The song I had sung to him the night he had gotten sick wasn’t a ballad. I had worked it out to play well on the guitar though, while I had spent those long hours in the hospital.
I started singing “Something Just Like This” by Coldplay. My version was slower and softer so the crowd had calmed down considerably to hear it. I closed my eyes as I belted out the chorus, letting the words roll over the crowd.
When I turned to look at Holden he was smiling at me and chuckling. He rolled his eyes. He knew what I was getting at. He didn’t have to be my superhero, just like the song said. I didn’t have to be his. All we needed was what we already had.
When I finished, the crowd went wild. Their smiling, screaming cacophony hit me with nearly physical force. I glanced up at Liv who was crying. That was a surprise and it proved Ray’s speech to me right. Music affected different people on different levels. Maybe it meant something more to her.
I turned back around to the chair with the intent of sitting for my next few songs and changed my mind. Looking up at Holden I made my way over, threw one of my arms around his neck and kissed him. The volume from the crowd increased measurably.
