“I want to fuck you so bad.” He growled.

  “Oh, Jake. Please,” she begged.

As he was slipping the hand that was on her breast into her bikini bottom, a big wave came over them and they both laughed as they were both pulled into the water, with Gia taking in a large gulp of water.

Still laughing, Jake got up and reached for her hand. He brought her up to him and was about to kiss her when he saw her surfboard drifting out. He laughed again and went and retrieved the board.

The moment was lost, again. Damn.

On the way back to Gia’s father’s beach house, Jake asked her about her mom.

“She was in a hit and run accident on the PCH.”

  “The PCH?”

“Pacific Coast Highway. Up around Santa Barbara. She was coming back from visiting my aunt, her sister. A pickup sideswiped her off the road. The witnesses said the truck was going very fast and didn’t even stop. They said it was a young kid…. They never did find him. The car flipped a few times and burst into flames.” She shuddered.

“I’m sorry, Gia.” He put his arm around her and drew her up against his body.

“Yeah,” she said, sounding too choked up to continue.

They walked in silence the rest of the way and when they got to the house, they put the board away and walked to her car. Jake grabbed his duffle bag with a change of clothing in it and she grabbed her backpack.

She led him to the enclosed stone outdoor shower.

He went first. He began to drag her into it with him, but she pulled back.

“My father might come by at any moment,” she said giggling.

When she got out of the shower, she was in a waffled robe and her hair was in a towel. She saw him sitting on the half wall with his cowboy hat on, taking in the serene beach vista.

When he saw her, he opened his arms and spread his legs. She stepped into him and he enclosed her with his arms. He watched her as she brought her hands up to her head and removed the towel, transfixed on her shaking her hair out. He brought his lips to hers and kissed her long and deep, as his hands found their way inside her robe.

She let out a little moan when he snaked his hands to her ass and began to nip the top of her breasts.

“Oh good, you two are out of the water.” Her father came walking up behind them.

Gia and Jake flew apart, and Gia re-tied her robe and Jake had a guilty expression on his face. He deduced her father didn’t see anything or didn’t let on.

  “Daddy!”

“I thought you were still in the water. There was a shark sighting further up from here.”

“Is everyone okay? Did everyone get out of the water?” She sounded genuinely concerned.

  “Yeah, everyone’s safe.”

Jake was stunned, he was in awe. “You knew,” he said to Gia.

  Gia just looked at him.

“You sensed it before. That was the warning.”

“Yes, our little Gia is so special, she picks this stuff up all the time,” came a sarcastic reply from the balcony above them.

They looked up. Jake was surprised to see the dark haired woman Jamie introduced him to at the beach, earlier. He wondered how long she was up there and how much she saw.

The woman made her way down. She was in a very short black dress with a low front that showed a little too much cleavage, and she wore what looked to be around six inch heels. She swiped her tongue across her lips while looking at Jake.

She walked over to her husband and put her arm around his waist.

“Isn’t that right Gia,” she continued in that same acerbic tone.

“Jake, this is my wife, Stefania.”

Stefania put out her hand and Jake had no choice but to accept it.

He went to pull it away, but she held steady and he heard a little moan escape her lips and was sure Gia and her father heard it too. He felt uncomfortable and averted his eyes as he tugged his hand back.

Gia watched the display Stefania put on, annoyed that she was flirting with Jake.

“Yes, Stephanie, I am special,” Gia said just as sarcastic and opting to call her by her real name. She was Stephanie for the longest time. When she wed her father, all of a sudden, she started introducing herself as Stefania.

Stefania wrinkled her nose at Gia.

Luke knew there was no love lost between the two women and in the past, he tried to get them to like each other, but he had since given up. He knew he had made a mistake in marrying her.

Luke missed his wife, Gia’s mother, so much, he lived like a recluse for ten years. He just wanted someone there for him. Someone to share his life with. His kids were grown and each had their own life. He was lonely.

He met Stephanie and they seemed to have hit it off. He enjoyed her company, she was pretty, younger than him by fifteen years and he was attracted to her. She cooked for him and cleaned his house and the sex was non-stop. He appreciated her and he took her out and bought her expensive things. Soon she moved in with him and finally they married.

Soon after they married things changed. All she did was shop all day, go to the gym, and lay around the house. He had hired a cleaning lady so she didn’t have to clean herself, yet she never had the time to cook for him anymore. When he would get home from a long day of work, she would always be dressed to the nines and she expected him to take her out every night. Sex was non-existent for the past year and a half. They’d only been married for two. Yeah, he’d made a mistake, one he was going to rectify just as soon as he told his kids.

The divorce papers were already drawn up at his lawyer’s office.

He abruptly removed her arm from around his waist, which did not go un-noticed by his daughter, and walked to the outdoor kitchen and opened the mini refrigerator. “Would you two like a beer?”

“Luke, we’re meeting my friend Pamala and her husband for drinks at Basilic’s in twenty minutes.”

He looked from Jake to his wife. “I’m not going. I told you that yesterday.”

  “But we promised them.”

  “No, you promised.”

Stefania stamped her foot and turned to Gia. “Ooooh, your father is impossible,” she spat out. She turned and walked away, up the steps, and into the house.

Gia caught her father shaking his head as he watched his wife throw a tantrum and walk away.

  “Daddy, you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m good. I’m sorry you had to see that, Jake.” He handed Jake a long neck, then he gave one to his daughter.

  “Don’t worry about it.”

Jake and Lucas drank and talked while Gia grabbed her backpack and went back into the shower area and changed out of her robe. Normally she would have gone up to the house to change, but she didn’t want to run into Stephanie. When she came out, she studied Jake and her father. They seemed to have hit it off. Her father was giving him tips on surfing.

“Dad, Jake and I are going to grab some dinner at Sandy’s. Why don’t you come with us?” She didn’t discuss it with Jake and hoped he would be okay with it. She hated to see her father so down.

“Thank you, sweetheart. Jake had already invited me, but I’m gonna hang out here and watch the sunset, then I’m going to turn in early tonight. You two go, enjoy yourselves.” He stuck his hand out. “Jake, it was a pleasure meeting you. Come back anytime and we’ll go over some marketing techniques we talked about.”

“Thank you, sir.” He shook Lucas’ hand.

Lucas kissed his daughter on her head. “Thanks for not bailing on me today, kiddo. The fundraiser means a lot to the community.”

“I know. I’ll call you tomorrow. I love you, daddy.”

  “Love you, too.”

He sat down on the half wall as he watched Jake reach out his hand and his daughter take it, with a smile on her face.

He was happy for her. She had talked about Jake with him in the past week, even telling him she had met him in Las Vegas, and he knew she liked him a lot. He’d never seen her so excited over a
boy before. And from what he could tell, Jake seemed like a nice boy who had a good head on his shoulders, not like Donavan Reynolds. He was relieved that didn’t work out and made a mental note to talk to his father about him backing off.

He sat there long after they left and thought about what he had to do. He sighed, got up and walked into the house. It was quiet. He knew Stefania left to meet her friends. He climbed the stairs to his bedroom and walked into his bathroom. He took a shower and went to bed.

In the car, Jake checked his cell phone. He had a missed call from his sister and Cord, and he had a text from his ex-girlfriend. He huffed as he fidgeted with the phone and felt Gia’s eyes on him. He looked up with a grin. “New phone.” He shrugged his shoulders.

She giggled and he went back to trying to access his messages.

Hi Jake, How are you? Call me.

Call her? They hadn’t spoken in over five months. What could she possibly want? He definitely wasn’t going to call her while he was with Gia. He sighed.

“Something wrong?” Gia asked him as she looked from the road to him.

“No.” was all he said and smiled at her.

She turned her attention back to the road.

Jake texted his sister and Cord. Pretty proud of himself for sending a group text.

If it’s not an emergency, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.

He hit send then put his phone in his pocket. A few moments later he got a reply from Rory.

  Emergency? No. Talk tomorrow.

Jake blew out a breath and resent the message, checking to make sure Calista’s and Cord’s names were visible.

The restaurant was crowded with tourists and residents alike, but they were able to be seated on the outside patio and Jake was treated to a most beautiful sunset as they sipped beer. He ate a steak and she ate a baked salmon.

They continued to get to know each other and talked about their lives up till that point. He had her hysterical with stories about him and his friends Rory, Cord, and Dan’s antics.

His first car was an old stick, Chevy Nova that needed a push in order for it to start. One of his friends would push it and when it started, had to run to catch up with it and jump in.

She laughed so hard, tears practically ran down her cheeks.

Jake sat back and watched her. He enjoyed seeing her smile and hearing her laughter.

“What?” she asked him when he just stared at her.

He took a sip of his beer. “Nothing.” He put his beer down and moved his upper body over the table and she leaned in. He brushed her lips with his.

  “Mmmmm.”

“Ahem.” The waitress cleared her throat. “Dessert?” she asked, handing Jake a thin menu as he sat back. She gave one to Gia also. Then she cleared off some of the dishes as they perused it.

Gia quickly put her menu down.

“Not getting anything?” he asked, looking up over his menu.

  “No. I’m full.”

He put his menu down too, and the waitress picked them up. “Nothing?”

“No, thank you. Just the check.” Jake said.

  The waitress was off.

“You don’t want anything?” Gia asked.

“They don’t have what I want for dessert.”

  “What do you want?”

He moved in close and motioned for her to come in close to him, then he whispered in her ear.

  “I wanna eat your pussy.”

“Gia’s breath caught as she felt butterflies flutter deep inside of her.

He moved back and watched her expression. “I can’t help but notice you’re wearing a sexy strapless dress. Easy access?” He grinned.

She chuckled. “Ah, you did notice.”

“I notice everything. Now, about that dessert?”

“Let’s go,” she said as she started to get up.

Jake got a kick out of her. “Still waiting for the check, babe, but I like your enthusiasm.”

She turned red. “Oh.” She sat back down.

He slowly licked his lips and felt his phone vibrate in his jeans. He pulled it out and looked down at it.

I miss you. Please call me.

What the fuck. He ignored it and put the phone back in his pocket as the waitress dropped off the check. He took out a few bills and dropped them on the table.

“Let’s go,” he said in a seductive voice as the corners of his mouth lifted.

Gia and Jake walked hand in hand as she gave him a quick tour of her housing complex. They walked by the tennis courts and basketball courts. They walked to the inviting built in swimming pool, with a deep blue finish, that Gia, since meeting Jake, couldn’t help but be reminded of his eyes whenever she was there.

It was deserted at that moment. Jake walked her over to a lounge chair and sat down. He pulled her down in-between his legs and nuzzled her neck as he moved his hands over her hips and waist. He took a peek around. Satisfied no one was there, his hands moved up to the top of her breasts where her dress started. Fingers facing down, he moved down inside her dress and caressed her breasts. Her nipples grew hard as he plucked them.

Gia moaned softly. When he tweaked a little hard on her nipples, she felt a connection down at her clit. She moved her ass into his groin and felt his hard erection through his jeans.

She turned her head to Jake and he brought his lips down to hers and kissed her passionately. When he broke the kiss, he said, “Come on, let’s go, I can’t wait to taste you.” He removed his hands from the inside of her dress and picked up the material making sure nothing was showing.

She got up, straightening her dress, and he rose and clasped her hand in his.

They ran into Lacy. Jake remembered her from Vegas. He had a Texas Rangers ball cap on and tipped his hat to her when Gia introduced him.

“Oh, yeah. I remember you, cowboy, and your friends,” Lacy said huskily and she licked her lips.

Gia seethed inside. She knew Lacy was flirting with him. She looked from her to Jake and was pleased when he dropped her hand and brought his arm around her shoulders and hugged her close to him and gave her a quick kiss on her lips. She got the feeling he did that to reassure her he wasn’t interested in Lacy.

Jake started to casually walk away with Gia.

“Goodnight, Lacy,” Gia said without looking back.

Jake didn’t bother to say anything.

“If you need some help, Gia, call me.” She said and Gia winced at the way it came out in a sexy little giggle.

Gia didn’t respond. She and Jake just continued to walk away.

“I don’t know, Jake. You’ve got my gay friend fawning all over you and Lacy, who by the way is a cougar, fawning all over you. Is this standard stuff or what?” She said it in a playful manner and Jake laughed.

  “How old is she?”

“Forty-eight.” Gia said as she closed and locked her front door. She walked into the kitchen and Jake followed like a puppy dog.

  “Forty-eight? Damn.”

Dropping her purse on a kitchen chair, she walked the short distance to her refrigerator and opened the door to look inside. “Want a beer?” She paused, and before she could stop herself, she said, “Or Lacy?”

Jake detected a little sour bite from her “Lacy? That lady scares me.” He tried to make a joke of it. “Her lips look like they were stung by a whole beehive worth of bees and her face is in a perpetual smile. Botox?”

  “Welcome to California, Jake.”

Jake chuckled as he moved right behind her, making sure to press his body against her cute little butt that was sticking out as she bent down to examine the contents in the fridge. He moved his hands to her waist and held her gently. “I didn’t fly here to be with Lacy, Gia. You and only you are the reason I am here.

“That’s it?” He chuckled again. “That’s all you have in your refrigerator?” he said as he bent down.

She giggled as she bumped her butt into his groin. “It’s all I need. Want some?”

“Hell yeah. My mom wouldn’t allow it.”

“Lucky for you I’m not your mother. Chocolate or vanilla?”

  “Amen to that. Both?”

With a little laughter, she removed the two containers of cake frosting. As she moved away before the door closed, Jake stuck a hand in and grabbed a beer.

That was it. Two containers of frosting, a six pack of beer and a half gallon of one percent milk was in her fridge. She was hardly home. She traveled a lot, so she never stocked up. Too many times she’d come home and have to throw away food, so she got into the habit of not stocking up anymore. Most of the times it was lonely to come home and wanting something in the form of comfort food and not having it, but it was what it was.

She was getting tired of it, tired of the business travel, constantly getting hit on by men, colleagues, usually married. There was only one man she was comfortable around, but he wasn’t at every meeting, he was in marketing and she, in sales.

Jake twisted the cap, took a sip of the beer, and noticed she grew quiet.

After grabbing a couple of spoons from the drawer by the sink, Gia turned around and leaned against the counter, concentrating on the task of scooping out some vanilla frosting. When she got a big glob on a spoon, Jake reached in with his mouth and ate it.

She giggled in reply, not expecting it.

After letting it slide down his throat, Jake put his beer down and placed a hand on the counter next to her and with his other hand, he cupped her chin gently. “Gia, I’m not interested in Lacy. I was taken by surprise by her age, is all. I am most interested in you.” He looked intently into her eyes.

She slowly nodded her head and then he reached in and kissed her gently.
