Do this procedure every night, saying the charm nine times but only from the number of stones you have left: seven, then six, then five, etc., until you are down to the last stone.
On the last night, repeat the last four lines nine times: “One weeping sister, left all alone, jumped from the ship and sunk like a stone. No weeping sisters stand by the lake. The evil is gone! Peace in its place!” Remove the last stone. Return to your altar, hold your hands over the person’s picture or name, and repeat the last two lines with conviction in your voice: “No weeping sisters stand by the lake. The evil is gone! Peace in its place!” After the last recitation, you will seal this spell in a different way. You will yell: “So be it!” and then slam your hand down on the altar top as hard as you can without breaking anything.
Nine Weeping Sisters Charm
Nine weeping sisters stood by a lake
One was removed, and then there were eight.
Eight weeping sisters gazed at the heavens
One was removed, and then there were seven.
Seven weeping sisters broke red bricks
One was removed, and then there were six.
Six weeping sisters ran for their lives
One was removed, and then there were five.
Five weeping sisters left through the door
One was removed, and then there were four.
Four weeping sisters put out to sea
One was removed, and then there were three.
Three weeping sisters left as the crew
One was removed, and then there were two.
Two weeping sisters shied from the sun
One was removed, and then there was one.
One weeping sister, left all alone
Jumped from the ship and sank like a stone.
No weeping sisters stand by the lake.
The evil is gone! Peace in its place!
Note: Another variation of this spell is to write the problem on nine pieces of paper. Each night, burn one slip of paper.
Recommended candle color: white
Binding (Last Ditch)
In my magickal practice I generally go right for the banishment, feeling that binding just makes the problem hang around longer. However, there may be circumstances where you feel that a binding is necessary first, followed by the banishment. My job in this book is not to discuss the morality of the magick; I believe that by working with the plants and their spirits you will find your own way to nirvana.
You will need:
paper with the person’s photo or their name written on it nine times
a potato (Saturn/earth)
benzoin gum
salt
non-poisonous sumac
a good spade
Make an equal-armed cross slit in the potato. Insert the paper or a photograph with the individual’s name into the center of the crossed slit. Dig a small ditch at least eight inches deep. Pour salt into the ditch. Lay sumac over the salt. Place the potato on the sumac. Cover the potato with the sumac. Cover the sumac with salt. Fill in the ditch. Pour salt on the dirt. With a sharp blade, draw a circle around the ditch; this act is to cut all ties between yourself and the individual. Draw the sigil of Saturn in the salt. Place a heavy stone on top of the salt. Turn your back. Walk away. Don’t look back. Please note that this spell doesn’t work if someone is innocent.
Down in the ditch you stay
Down in the ditch this day
Down in the ditch cut off
Down in the ditch your lot
Down in the ditch you stay
Ever up? No way!
As a note, I have on more than one occasion used living vining plants to bind a problem. Both moonflower and morning glory vines work particularly well. Write the problem on a small piece of paper, then carefully twirl the vines around the paper. Tell the plant your problem and ask for assistance in this matter. Over time (about a month or two) the vine will completely cover the paper and continue to wrap itself around the problem. As summer turns to autumn and the first frost hits, the problem has always been gone.
Blessed Baby/Fertility
grains of paradise, baby powder, cornmeal, sandalwood, mandrake, mistletoe
Bright beauty, health, and safely birth
Bring my baby to this earth
Encircle us with glowing love
And grant us blessings from above.
Designed both for fertility and safe birthing. Add the names of the parents (or intended parents) into the powder or herbal blend. Use the herbal blend to stuff into a white poppet along with a paper that has “happy, healthy, safe baby and birthing for mother and baby” written on it. Sew up the doll. Draw three Birca runes ( ) on the doll with indelible marker and place the poppet under the bed.
When the woman becomes pregnant, remove from under the bed and place on its own chair in the bedroom. When it is time to go to the hospital, have the doll accompany the mother-to-be as a birthing charm.
Note: If something or someone tries to carry the poppet out from under the bed before the woman becomes pregnant, this is a sign that the parents are not in agreement or that there is an outside influence that is not in agreement with the pregnancy. Do a complete spiritual cleansing of both parents and place the doll back under the bed. Secure it to the underside of the bed if you believe a pet will try to carry the doll away.
Recommended candle color: white
Blessing
sweetgrass, rosemary, rose, lavender, salt
From head to foot, from heart to mind
I cleanse the field with three of chime
Every color is my light!
Every color is my sight!
Every color calls delight!
Red! Orange! Yellow! Green! Blue! Purple! White!
I walk in beauty, joy, and light!
This is a sweet formula that is perfect for weddings, Wiccanings, and other sacred events. I also use it to combat nightmares and encourage restful sleep. This is an excellent color spell that you may wish to use for a variety of meditations and family or personal happiness workings. As a simple charm or a full ritual, the vibratory essence of the words and herbs are filled with joy and delight.
Recommended candle color: white or all colors listed in the chant
Blocking
salt, rosemary, gourd seeds, pennyroyal, ivy
God/dess stands between me and thee!
Hold your hands and arms up in a crossed blocking motion with your head turned to the side (so you don’t get a bloody astral nose), then turn and throw part of the powder in front of you. Turn to the right and do the same thing, then turn right again and again, turning full circle, as you intone the charm above. Mean it when you say it!
Bluebird Family Happiness
buckthorn, dandelion, sage, thistle, sunflower hulls, celandine, white feathers, blue powder
Bucks and lions, sage and flowers
Birds of happiness at each hour
Thistledown and blended love
Always blessings from above.
Bluebird family happiness is a general wishes formula as well as a family happiness blend. This working involves your artistic creativity. Draw or use photographs of bluebirds pasted on a white or gold envelope. This envelope should be large enough to contain a family photo. You may also wish to add representations of bluebirds on your family altar. Upon each hour of the day (from dawn to dusk), intone the chant above three times. Finish by ringing a sweet bell three times and sprinkling the magickal powder on a picture of your family. At dusk take the powder outside and scatter it. Seal the photograph in a gold envelope decorated with bluebirds. If you are going through a particularly bad time, use your divination tool to determine if you should do the working for three days. If more than one day is required, adjust the working to fit your
schedule.
Recommended candle color: light blue or a vibrant blue
Another blend like this one is the happy home formula, made of borage, cucumber seeds, basil, and thyme; the recommended candle color is white or gold.
Bonesetter Healing
rosemary, frankincense, cinquefoil, boneset, goldenseal, ginger, copal, mistletoe
The Lord of Five Points rode to four corners
While the Circle of She declares what will be.
Marrow to marrow; bone to bone; joint to joint
Sinew to sinew; blood to blood; vein to vein
Hair to hair; limb to limb; flesh to flesh
The power of one will now be enmeshed!24
This is a marvelous healing mixture that you may prefer to use as an herbal blend rather than a powder, as the boneset is hard to grind. Its purpose is to assist in the healing of wounds, bones, flesh, joints, etc. It is a splendid blend and chant to use every day after surgery or injury. To utilize the chant, add the herbal mixture to a conjuring bag along with a photograph or the name of the person who needs the healing. Each day say the individual’s name aloud three times, then begin rubbing the conjuring bag while intoning the chant at least three times (nine if the situation is severe).
Recommended candle color: white or pink (pink represents healthy internal flesh)
Boss Fix
to remove evil from the workplace
chili peppers, orange peel, sandalwood, patchouli, tobacco, musk, name of your boss, business card with the name of the company; if the boss is lying about you, add snapdragon
I shine the light upon its face
To show the world the cruel disgrace
Unkindness, hatred, mouth of rot
Turn tail and run, the evil stops!
From in to out no place to rest
Wheel of fortune turns to west
Where water flows and gone you go
Leaving peace; I make it so!
Burn the name of your boss and the business card together. Stir the ashes. Mix the ashes with the powder. Empower with the above chant (said nine times for three days) on the waning moon. Sprinkle the powder where you know your boss will walk on it.
For added power and a better connection, take dirt from where the individual has walked immediately after they have left the area. Add that dirt to either the powder or the spell vehicle.
Recommended candle color: red
Brick Dust Protection and Warding
brick dust, dragon’s blood resin
This is a good powder to lay across doorsteps or windowsills; because it is red, anyone can see it. One working begins by opening all the doors and windows in your living area. With a white candle and blessed salted water, walk around the home with the candle in the right hand and the water in the left. The candle is thought to scare the negativity into the water, where it will be dissolved. Use the following chant as you walk through the entire living space.
I cast thee out darkness, by one, two, and three
Ere about me the light is all that will be
From attic to basement to that in between
Good thoughts and great love are all to be seen.
Finish outside of the house, throwing out the water off your property. Allow the lit white candle to continue to burn in the center of the home. Lay the brick dust powder down outside all the doorways of the home so that no evil may re-enter.
Recommended candle color: white or red, depending upon the working; red is considered a battle color and is used by some practitioners when they feel that the opponent is strong and needs the vibrancy of the color to be “put down”
Brigid Creativity and Fire Healing
dandelion, sage, pumpkin, chamomile, violet petals and flowers, wisteria leaves
From the fire of inspiration to the hand of gentle healing
From the well of good health flowing to the forge of fired mind
Blessed Brigid knows what’s needed, and her power now is mine.
The Brigid archetype of the exalted healer is one of the most complex of Celtic deities and a commanding figure in Irish mythology. She is the goddess of inspiration, healing, inner vitality, wisdom, skill, strength, divine justice, knowledge, hearth and home, poetry, wordsmithing, needlework, compassion, and creativity. Some believe she rules the four elements and is capable of wielding their combined power. She is the flaming arrow in the dark of night. Known by a number of names—Brighid, Bridey, Bride, Briggidda, and more—she has journeyed from Pagan roots and managed to stand strong in Christianity, a pathway blocked to many ancient gods and goddesses. In Christian lore Brigid was the midwife of Mary, present at the birth of Jesus. Brigid’s colors are white, black, and red. Birthed from a triple goddess form, she is the patroness of women’s rights and the safety of children.
Brigid is such a famous goddess favored by so many magickal practitioners in both her Pagan and Christian forms that I created a formula based on research of common offerings and aromas given to her. In Santería, orishas (deities of West African Yoruban religions) are associated with Catholic saints, in which Brigid is included. In the African diasporic religion of Voodoo, she is represented with the lwa (spirit) Maman Brigitte.25
Recommended candle color: white, red, and black
Buddha Smiles Good Fortune
mint, bergamot, orange peel, bamboo leaves, gold or silver metal flakes, the largest coin of your country
Buddha smiles
Good fortune sings
Blessing life
With jeweled wings
Say you’re grateful is the key
To laughter, joy, and harmony
Rich within, rich around
Rich before the sun goes down!
Create the blend and empower the largest coin of your country on a new moon. Spit on the coin. Place the blend and the coin in a prosperity bag of your choice (red, white, gold, or green) as well as a lit match, which you put out quickly in the bag. The match is the catalyst for activating the formula. Breathe into the bag three times with a feeling of joy. On the first dawn of the new moon, go outside, hold the bag up to the direction of the new moon, and repeat the above chant three times.
Cernunnos
pine, mistletoe, woodruff, oak leaves
I invoke thee, great Cernunnos, master of the woods
Lord of the wild things, Father Herne, Hooded God
Grant me wisdom, joy, good fortune, protection, and peace
I become one in the arms of nature.
Cernunnos is the name most often used in Celtic studies about the god of the forest, the horned god. Many times the horns are depicted as antlers. He is sometimes referred to as Herne the Hunter, the Dark Lord, or the Hooded God, depending upon your course of study. He is not in any way related to Satan, as that image is a Christian construct and not associated with Celtic polytheism. Many times he is drawn in a cross-legged position surrounded by animals. He is the consciousness of the active energy of nature and therefore pervades all things. Sexuality, fertility, the hunt, and survival are all concepts of Cernunnos.
Recommended candle color: green
Cleaning House/Weekly Housework
lemon peel, sandalwood, lemon verbena, hyssop, rosemary, basil, thyme, lemon balm, orange peel
From foundation to roof
I cleanse the field of all negativity
Joy, laughter, and happiness
Shall henceforth be my gain.
This is a general house cleansing formula that can be used as a powder, herbal blend, or added to a bucket of water for a floor wash.
Recommended candle color: white
Confusion
to confuse the enemy or someone who is trying to harm you
lavender, black poppy seed, crushed blueberries, galangal, parsley, thyme, burned knotted string
, blackberry leaves, black mustard seed, the sigil of Neptune
Your vision is clouded, your mind confused
Wherever you move to harm or abuse
Thoughts and deeds of hurt and pain
Turn quickly away—you get no gain
Turner be turned, twister be twisted
The evil you wove will now be lifted!
Best cast at 3:00 a.m. on the dark of the moon. Boil all ingredients in water that just covers the bottom of the pan along with the individual or name of the business (should they have attacked you). Say the entire charm three times, then repeat the first line until the pot boils dry. Throw the paper and dried herbs in the garbage.
Recommended candle color: gray
Court Case
legal victory
sassafras, High John (poisonous), cascara sagrada, oregano, galangal, buckthorn, brown sugar, a drop of honey
Three spirits came from the east
Truth, Justice, and Victory
The first one bound him/her
The second one gagged him/her
The third one dragged him/her away
I am the winner this fateful day!
Adjust the words to add the individual’s name you are fighting against (if there is one) and the venue. For example, it may be a hearing, it may be “court,” it may be mediation, etc. Using the right title to match the circumstances is important. The most irritating part of court cases and legal nonsense is the amount of time and energy these things eat. In Braucherei disease and trouble are thought to be energy patterns of their own, fueled by the thought of the human mind. Consider such a thing as a nonthinking entity that needs to be starved of energy.
Recommended candle color: brown, orange, and gold
Courthouse Win
for court and legal issues
dirt from the steps of the courthouse where your case will be heard, High John (poisonous), asafoetida, devil’s shoestring, celandine, galangal
Steps of the courthouse, one, two, three
Skipping over evil I win my victory!
I recommend keeping the High John whole and making the powder out of the remaining ingredients. Place in a red conjuring bag with a victory symbol of your choice. If the other party is lying about you, add snapdragon and a tiger’s-eye gemstone.
