“Heather are we really going to do this?”
She giggled and touched the tip of my nose. “I told you. That’s up to you.”
I thought about it again. The idea of Heather letting another man inside her drove me absolutely mad with jealousy. But at the same time it ignited such a primal desire to see it happen. “I…how would we…I’d want to be able to watch,” I said finally, lowering my head. I didn’t know if I could stand waiting, not knowing what was going on.
“Hmm, that might be tricky,” Heather said. “But Jay, are you really serious? Do you really want me to do this?”
I looked up to see the same wild look had returned to her eyes. Her whole body seemed to be buzzing with excitement.
“I…I think I do,” I replied.
Her heart began to beat so hard that I could see her carotid pumping in her neck. “Okay, then just let me think,” she said, pacing back and forth in the room. “There’s…there’s got to be a way,” she said, pressing her fingers against her forehead.
She took on an air of intensity that I’d rarely seen in her. Despite being very serious about her career, Heather was fairly laid back for the most part. But now she looked like a woman on a mission. A woman who just realized she wanted this thing more than she’d ever wanted anything in her life.
She finally stopped to stare out the window. “I don’t know,” she said.
“You don’t know?”
“I don’t know. I don’t know how we’re going to do it but we’ll find a way. Right now we have to get going. Kwabena’s going to be waiting downstairs.” She walked across the room to where I was standing by the door, her eyes almost sparkling with excitement. “You ready?”
I nodded but the truth was I’d never felt less ready for anything in my life.
Kwabena was, in fact, waiting downstairs. He stood up from the chair he’d been sitting in and held out both hands to greet Heather as she walked through the foyer.
She flashed a brilliant smile and spun around, her blonde locks bobbing along her shoulders as she did.
“Very nice,” Kwabena said. His eyes raked down her body, pausing at her tits and her hips, then sliding down her legs.
I was half expecting him to lick his lips, the way he was looking at her.
He offered his arm.
Heather hooked hers underneath and they walked towards the door with me following a few feet behind.
The bar Kwabena took us to was dark and intimate. There were a few tables in the center but most of the space was taken up by booths lining the walls. We were seated at one in the corner. There was an awkward moment when we weren’t sure who should sit with who.
Heather laughed it off and took a seat next to Kwabena on the bench.
“To your successful research,” Kwabena said, toasting Heather after our drinks had arrived. He was very friendly that evening, much more welcoming of me than he’d been since we’d arrived. Perhaps he realized that, like it or not, I was going to be an integral part of him getting laid. He seemed to have made peace with that fact.
My titillation grew with each drink we consumed. Once inhibitions had been loosened sufficiently, Kwabena stopped paying as much attention to the fact that I was sitting across the table from them and began paying much more attention to Heather.
Heather did nothing to dissuade him. She seemed to relish each touch, each whispered word, each smile he gave her.
For me it was like watching a play in which you know the actors personally. A little bit disconcerting seeing them acting not like themselves.
Except after a while I realized what was really unsettling me. It was that I had seen Heather acting like this before. I had seen her giggling and flirting and being coy the way she was now with Kwabena.
She’d been the same way with me.
The realization shook me to my core. I nearly caved, nearly stood up and announced that everything was off and that we were going home. I had to excuse myself and go to the bathroom and splash cold water on my face.
I stared at my reflection in the mirror for a good long while before heading back out. And it was only then that things really started to heat up.
I was stopped in my tracks by the sight of Kwabena and Heather locked in a kiss.
My eyes popped open wide and I had to steady myself against the wall.
His black skin looked even darker so close to hers. His lips were pressed against hers and by the way his jaw was moving I could see that his tongue was thrusting in and out of her mouth.
The very cold feeling that had first gripped me when I saw it was ripped apart by a bolt of heat as my eyes settled on Heather’s lap.
Kwabena’s paw was stuffed up beneath the hem of her dress. The muscles in his arm were rippling which could only mean one thing. He was playing with her pussy.
And just like that, all of the hemming and hawing, all of the doubt and indecision was burned out of existence by the burning arousal I felt. I knew that no matter what happened I had to see Heather follow through on our little game.
With renewed courage I walked up to the table, sat down and waited for them to break away from their kiss.
They took their time. It was Kwabena who released Heather, though his hand stayed firmly in her lap. He smiled at her, brushed her blushing cheek with a finger and turned to look at me. “Back already?” he asked with a chuckle.
I smiled and looked at Heather again. Her face looked like it was about to burn up and she couldn’t bring herself to look at me. I wanted to reach out and touch her and tell her that everything was going to be okay. But I knew now wasn’t the time. “Looks like you two are ready to call it a night?” I said.
Kwabena scowled. “I thought that maybe we could change setting?” he said, looking at Heather. “To somewhere a little more intimate? Perhaps a little more private?”
Heather glanced at me, her expression having grown serious. Then she looked back at Kwabena. “I’m sorry Kwabena but I just…I wouldn’t feel comfortable being alone just yet.”
An irritation settled over Kwabena’s expression and he glared at me for a moment like it was my fault.
“But,” Heather began. She glanced at me out of the corner of her eye and bit her lip. “If we go to the hotel I wouldn’t feel quite so…I think that might work. If Jay doesn’t mind waiting, that is?”
My heart began to pound inside my chest and blood surged into my cock. I had no idea how we were going to arrange me watching but I suspected Heather had a plan, since she was suggesting the hotel.
Kwabena contemplated the idea for some time. He must have realized it was really the only way he was getting what he wanted. “Very well,” he said, forcing himself to smile. He obviously would have preferred a different ending but this would have to do.
On the way back to the hotel Kwabena and Heather sat in the back of the cab and made out while I sat up front.
Every so often I would catch the driver glancing in the rear view mirror, the over at me, probably wondering what the hell was going on. When we got to the hotel I paid him and left a good tip as Kwabena and Heather headed inside.
Racing in after them I just made it to the door as it was about to close. “Uh, sorry,” I said, pushing it open.
Kwabena shot me an irritated glare.
“Just…could I use the bathroom?” I asked.
He looked at Heather who’d opened her mouth to say something, then changed her mind.
Without waiting for an answer, I pushed my way inside. I could tell Kwabena was getting angrier by the minute and it was becoming clearer and clearer to me that she didn’t have a plan. I guess I panicked. As much as I wanted this to happen I just didn’t think I’d be able to bear it happening without me there.
“Kwabena?” I said, glancing at Heather.
Her eyes went wide and she started to shake her head.
“We haven’t been totally honest with you.” I looked straight at him.
He frowned, not sure what to make of what I’d said.
“Heather and I…we’re married.”
Strangely enough he didn’t seem as shocked by what I’d said as I expected he’d be. He kept staring at me, waiting for the rest of the explanation without saying a word.
“Heather…we got this crazy idea into our heads. We just got married a few days ago. And…we got off the plane and it just felt like a different world, like what happened here would never follow us home. And…”
Kwabena held up a hand. “I’ve heard enough for tonight,” he said, shaking his head. “If you’ll excuse me I think I’ll find a cab home. It was a pleasure.”
“Kwabena, wait…”
But he didn’t. Squeezing past me he walked out the door and let it slam shut behind him.
I felt like a total jerk. Looking at Heather, it seemed like she did, too.
“Why did you do that?” she asked, an angry edge to her tone.
At first the question made me feel worse. But then I realized that I’d actually done the right thing. Heather really had no right to be mad. “I told you I wanted to be there when it happened,” I said.
“Yeah but, I mean, there was no way and he was all worked up and…”
“Heather,” I said, holding up a hand. “We were kind of using the guy. Even if there had been a way for me to watch, what we were doing wasn’t right.”
She opened her mouth to argue the point, but paused. She slumped down onto the bed, her shoulders sagging. “You’re right,” she muttered. She looked up with a pained expression. “What are we going to do?”
I sat down next to her and put an arm over her shoulder. “I don’t know. We’ll think of something, some way to apologize. I think for now we should try to get some sleep.”
“Jay?” Heather said, looking up at me with her big eyes.
“Yeah?”
“I’m not feeling very sexy anymore tonight.”
“It’s okay, baby. Neither am I. Let’s just go to bed.”
Heather took a shower and slipped into bed as I stared out the window, staring out into the African night and wondering how to make things right.
Chapter Seven
Kwabena didn’t meet us in the lobby the next day. Not that he had any obligation. He’d done his best to make us comfortable and help us settle in and we’d treated him like dirt in return.
I walked Heather to the campus and made sure all the equipment was still functioning. Then I waited for her first interviewee to arrive before heading out to explore a bit of the city.
My mind was heavy with guilt at how we’d treated Kwabena as I set out, despite the cheerful, sunny day. Wandering out of the campus I saw the small cafe Kwabena and I had shared a coffee and decided I needed another one before wandering any further.
Walking through the door rang the little bell hung above it. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust to the light in the room. When they did I saw the same waitress from the day before behind the counter. Sitting at the same table we’d been at, was Kwabena.
I glanced down at the ground for a moment, shame filling me at seeing him again. I reached for the door to step back out when I heard him say my name.
“Jay.”
I looked up.
Kwabena wagged two fingers at me then pointed them towards the chair across the table.
Ignoring my nerves I walked up to the table, pulled out the chair and sat down. “Kwabena look…” I began but he put up a hand and stopped me. He waved the waitress over.
“Keyfey,” he said, before turning back to me.
The waitress scurried away without staring at me this time.
Kwabena leaned against the back of his chair and folded his thick arms across his chest. He stared at me for a moment before cracking a smile. Reaching up, he removed his dark glasses and set them on the table before leaning forward and propping himself against it with his arms. He shook his head and the smile turned into a chuckle.
Relief washed over me at the realization that I wasn’t about to get yelled at or worse. I’d wanted to make amends with him about what had happened but deep inside I was scared about what sort of man he really was.
“You are a fucker, Jason,” he said, still chuckling.
It was the sort of thing a teacher might say to an errant student in confidence. It was comforting to know he wasn’t pissed, but a little belittling to be called that. But considering what had happened I really couldn't object. “Look, I really am sorry about what we did.”
The waitress came back carrying my coffee and I paused while she set it down.
“It was a mistake what happened. We shouldn’t have done it. And…I’m sorry.”
Kwabena nodded and eyed me for a few moments more. “Don’t worry too much about it. Just enough not to do it again. It’s not nice, you know?”
“I know. I know.”
“Besides,” he said, leaning closer and taking a sip of his coffee. “If you want something like that, most of the time all you have to do is ask.”
I raised an eyebrow. It was a strange thing for him to say, or so I thought.
“You see? There are all sorts of things in this world you don’t know about. You think you’re the first white man who wants to watch his wife get stuffed by a black cock?”
This made my eyes go wide in shock. It was probably the last thing I was expecting him to say.
“Oh yes, Jason,” Kwabena reassured, his chuckle returning. He leaned in even closer. “And not just that, my friend. You can’t imagine what some men want for their women.” One side of his mouth twisted into a wicked grin.
It was as tantalizing a thing as I’d ever heard. I was a bit reluctant to ask but the prospect proved irresistible. “Really? Like what?”
Kwabena smiled and shook his head. “Oh no. You can’t start like that,” he said. “You have to go slow, go gentle. Or else you might hurt yourself.”
“O…okay,” I said, not quite sure what he meant or where to take it from there.
“I tell you what. Why don’t you give Miss Heather a little surprise tonight.”
“A…a surprise?” I stammered. “What sort of surprise?”
Kwabena pulled a card out of his wallet. “Here’s my address. Why don’t you come by around eight. We’ll get it done right. You can sit in a comfortable chair and drink scotch instead of trying to sneak around hotel rooms.”
My eyes went wider still. “Are…are you saying…”
“Yes,” Kwabena said, sparing me from having to say it. “You bring her by and I will lay her good.” He pressed the heels of his palms together in a gentle smack.
A shudder raced through me. Now this seemed how it should be done.
I was on pins and needles all day as I walked around Koflao.
Heather emerged from her interviews much the same as she had gone in, quiet and sullen.
I wanted nothing more than to blurt out what had happened that morning, to tell her what I had in store that night. But Kwabena had decided it would be more fun to surprise her and I had agreed that it would.
So I took her back to the hotel and let her shower.
“What do you want for dinner?” I asked, after she got out.
“Oh, I don’t know. I’m not really that hungry,” she said, flopping down on the bed.
Normally I would have left her to brood, sometimes that was just what she needed, but I knew that what we had in store would drag her out of her foul mood. So I pulled a nice outfit out of the closet, a modest white top and a loose dark green skirt, and threw them on the bed next to her. “Come on, put these on. I’m taking you out. My treat.”
Heather glanced at the clothes then shot me a scowl. “I don’t know, Jay. I don’t think I’m in the mood to…”
I grabbed her wrists and hauled her up to sit. “Listen, I’m not taking ‘no’ for an answer here. Now get dressed, okay?”
Heather harrumphed in that way she did when she got annoyed at being bossed around too much.
I could tell we were on a knife’s edge here. If she l
et herself succumb to her irritation there probably wouldn’t be much I could do about it.
Thankfully, after a sigh, she picked up the top and slipped it on, then stepped into the dress. Pulling a pair of sandals out of the closet she put them on, then folded her arms across her chest as she waited by the door. “Well? Are we going then?” she said, doing nothing to mask her irritation at having been talked into going out.
I was as giddy as I was nervous and it was a wonder I didn’t skip across the room to where she was standing. That would have probably given something away, though. I didn’t normally get this excited about anything.
Outside I hailed a cab and held the door open while Heather stepped in. Pulling Kwabena’s card out of my pocket I gave the driver the address.
Heather frowned at me. “Where are we going?” she asked.
I couldn’t help cracking a smile but I wanted to keep the secret as long as I could. “Did you mean it when you said you weren’t hungry?”
“Why?” she asked. “What are you cooking up? I’m not really up for anything weird, Jay.”
Normally I might have begun to panic at hearing her say this. Somehow this time I knew that this wouldn’t fit her definition of weird. “Just sit back and relax. We’ll be there soon. I want it to be a surprise.”
Heather seemed unconvinced but didn’t object and further.
About five minutes later we pulled up in front of one of the nicer looking houses I’d seen so far in Koflao. It was surrounded by a high fence with a gate at the front. We paid the cabbies and stepped out into the night.
I pressed the button on the intercom.
“Jay? What is this place?” Heather asked.
The intercom crackled to life. “Hello?”
I couldn’t tell whether Heather recognized Kwabena’s voice or not.
“Hi. It’s us.”
“Excellent. Come inside. It’s just up the drive.”
“Jason,” Heather said, squeezing my arm. “What is this? What’s going on?”
I smiled at her and offered my arm. “You really don’t know?” I asked.
“No,” she replied. She took my arm and as the gate swung open we stepped into the yard and began to walk up the drive.
