Zero Degrees Part 2 Page 7

by Leo Sullivan

Their usually stern faces were stunned and they probably assumed that it was just a random armed robbery as they sat there with stone faces.

One of them seemed to be really unfazed. He had a look on his face that seemed to say “How dare you run up in here on me with guns and shit?” Instead of speaking, he reached inside the front pocket of his white button down and pulled out an already cut cigar. Calmly, he placed it between his thin lips. In his early fifties, he was a handsome man, with a hint of crow’s feet around his deep, but disturbing dark brown eyes.

He was Gorge, the boss of all bosses and literally ran the underworld of Miami. His voice was laced with a thick version of his native Cuban accent as his dialect changed to English.

“What the fuck is this? You must not know who I am or what I can do to you?” The small room filled with even more tension as he pulled a lighter out of his pocket and quickly motioned for one of the other cartel members to grab a concealed weapon.

Buff caught the slight movement and popped off until the so called boss was no more. The other men sat there astounded as they watched their leader’s head loudly hit the Poker Table. Money dripped onto the stacks of money there was a huge smoking hole in the back of his head that went straight through his face. His brain matter and pieces of his skull had landed in the lap of the man he’d gestured to. That was a definite way to get murked and they knew it. Suddenly bullets started flying through the air, but Zeus, Buff and Donreco, nor the cartel members were shooting. The three men and the members of the cartel looked stunned as another masked shooter entered the room in open fire.

I avenged my father’s death as I ran up in the room squeezing slug after slug into every major organ, artery and vein of the remaining cartel members. I was ready for war as I pulled the triggers of the two Glock 19’s with silencers. It was exhilarating to see the infrared red beams appear before the powerful weapon dispensed bullets that tore flesh, cartilage and bone until the red light suddenly became a bright red liquid. After all of our weapons were empty we finally stopped firing and observed the damage. There were hundreds of bullet holes in the walls and the Casino looked like it had been part of a war zone. Blood covered the walls like a fresh coat of paint and limbs were all over the place. The scene was gruesome and a wide, satisfied smile spread across my face. Shit, we were all still standing and Buff, Zeus and Donreco were staring at me like I was crazy.

Zeus walked over to me with a stunned look on his face. Although I had a mask on, he knew that it was me.

“What the fuck Ze? Shit, let’s get the fuck outta here. You can explain this shit to me later.” I could tell that he was pissed. “I can’t believe you did that shit.”

The smoke from our guns hadn’t even cleared before we were inside the van. The night was still and no one was out on the streets because it was almost four am. The restaurant was not in a busy area and only one lone car drove slowly down the street as Donreco pulled off. He pulled up in the narrow, dark alley and looked back at Zeus. “Gimme that thang man,” he said.

Zeus reached in the back and carefully grabbed the military power rocket launcher with both of his hands. He had huge hands and was strong as hell, but the powerful weapon was heavy as shit. I was amazed at the weapon as I watched him carefully pass it to Donreco and then watched out for police or potential witnesses.

  BOOM!!!! BOOM!!!

Donreco let off two fiery blasts and flames danced and flickered until they completely engulfed the restaurant’s exterior and interior. Donreco hit the gas and slowly drove away from the scene from the back of what was once Sir Roberto’s Cuban Cuisine. The secret meeting place of the Gutierrez Cartel would be merely ashes by the time the sun came up. The dark colored van came out on the empty street and the men removed the hot ski masks from their perspiring faces.

“Damn Killa, you came up in that bitch like Commando and shit!” Buff said with excitement etched on his face.

The high that I’d experienced from finally killing my father’s murderers was still traveling from my head to my toes. I felt ecstatic and it was like a drug. Something inside of me longed for that feeling to be constant.

“How the hell did you even know where to go?” Zeus asked angrily. “That shit was dangerous Ze. You could’ve been killed.”

I stared out of the window at the beautiful palm trees before I looked up at the dark, starless sky. ‘That was for you Pops,’ I thought as I fingered the bracelet on my arm.

Instead of answering Zeus’s question I remained silent. I pled the fifth with no words and he didn’t ask anymore.

“I’m hitting up the stash houses in a few days when shit dies down. That shit was fuckin’ flawless,” Donreco filled the void of silence as he made his way back out of the dark alley way. “I’m gonna chop this van up and then we can get rid of the weapons.”

I cleared my throat. “Uh, I’m parked about a foot up on the left.”

Even though I couldn’t see him, I could feel Zeus staring at me in the pitch, black dark.

“Right there,” I said stopping him when I spotted the rental car. Before I got out of the van I reached for my weapons. Zeus grabbed my hand.

“Hell nah. Leave that shit. You don’t need to be drivin’ wit’ it.” His eyes glared at me angrily in the moonlight.

I sucked my teeth and rolled my eyes at him. The guns had felt so good in my hands and although I knew I couldn’t take them on the plane, I just wanted to feel them in my hands one last time. With defiance I moved my hand away from the cold steel and turned away from my man. With one foot in front of the other, I gracefully stepped onto the pavement.

“Take your ass straight to the fuckin’ hotel,” Zeus said forcefully.

I slammed the door and made my way over to the car after lifting the ski mask from my face. When it was all said and done I did what the fuck I had to do. All I could think about was how Peaches had revealed the address of the restaurant to me at the last minute. I didn’t have much time, so I had to be resourceful. I scoped the beach out for a gangsta type of nigga. I found one by the name of Cole. He was black as night, with long cornrows, decked out in a white wife beater, white Air Ones and long jean shorts.

His eyes were red as if he’d been smoking some of the best Kush on Earth. I saw him leaning on a cocaine white, big body Mercedes. After I hinted to him about what I was looking for he wasn’t trying to fuck with a bitch. When I pulled out a fat ass knot of Benjamins he didn’t hesitate to take me to get some heat. Shit, he ended up selling a bitch a fat ass sack of that Kush too. My eyes were identical to his after smoking a much needed blunt.

I’d parked a few feet from the restaurant and swiftly made my way to the crime scene. As I scurried to the back entrance, I heard the first chorus of shots. The excitement that I felt when I realized that they’d propped the door open was exhilarating. I was so close to killing the men who’d started the decline of my innocent childhood. If it wasn’t for them I would still have my father and there would have been no Goody. If there had been no Goody there would have been no murder. Then I thought about it. I wouldn’t have met Buff, Zeus, Peaches or Teena either, so some good had come into my life I figured.

The adrenaline was still pumping through my veins as I made my way back to the hotel. I turned Tupac’s “Hail Mary” up on full blast and sang along as I lit the half of blunt I’d left in the ash tray. A smoke cloud surrounded my head while the Kush took me higher than I already was.

“Come wit’ me me! Hail Mary nigga, run quick see what do we have here now! Do you wanna ride or die! Die die die die die die!!” Images of the bloody bodies of the slain cartel members flashed through my memory bank like a slide show, causing me to feel a rush I’d never felt in my life. It felt even better than ending Goody’s miserable ass life. Damn, that shit felt good!

“Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to gettin’ pussy!” I yelled out with my nigga Pac as I made my way to the Interstate.

; Our flight was leaving at ten am and I was up before six. I’d been flipping through the channels looking for any news coverage on the massacre.

“The Gutierrez brothers Gorge and Jose were infamous for supplying cocaine all over the east and west coasts. They were originally from Cuba, but had been running a dangerous drug cartel in Miami for over a decade. The FBI had a task force that was assigned specifically to dismantle their drug operation. For more than five years they’d failed to bring any charges on them and the task force was dismantled.” I turned the television up as the reporter continued. “The Gutierrez brothers and the drug cartel they ruled with an iron fist were very dangerous. They’d also been linked to over one hundred fifty murders right here in Miami over the course of the last ten years. Gorge Gutierrez was having dinner with the top members of the drug cartel and his body was found along with ten of his closest associates. All eleven of the victims were shot numerous times by high powered automatic weapons. There are no suspects at this time. Names of the other victims have not been released. We will bring you more coverage as the story develops.” A McDonald’s commercial came on and my stomach growled, but I was hungry for something else.

I shoved Zeus until he stirred in his sleep. “Get up baby,” I whispered in his ear and his eyes slowly fluttered open.

“Good mornin’ Beauty,” he said in a groggy voice. I was surprised that he didn’t bring up my impromptu visit to the murder scene. Maybe he was finally accepting who I really was.

I kissed his lips, not caring about how his breath may have smelled. My love for him was even deeper because he’d killed for me. “We did it baby,” I said suddenly feeling turned on.

He looked at me wide awake all of a sudden. “I’m just glad you’re safe.”

I nodded as I nibbled his earlobe. “I just wanna fuck.”

“So murderin’ muthafuckas turn you on huh?” He asked pulling my naked body closer to his. He was hard already and all I wanted to do was please him.

“Hell yeah,” I said staring into his eyes as I kissed him passionately. Two of his fingers slowly entered my wetness, causing me to moan. “Mmm.”

“Yeah, your pussy’s wet as fuck. Let me take care of that,” he said as he climbed on top of me. He covered my body with sweet, wet kisses before posting up between my thighs. “I’m ‘bout to have breakfast in bed,” he said before taking my sensitive clit into his warm mouth. As he sucked my clit like a fucking lollipop I held on for dear life and rode about four orgasms out before he filled me up with that good ass dick. After eight orgasms I was on cloud nine. My man was definitely a ten in the bedroom. Damn.

By the time we got home the story of the Gutierrez Cartel Massacre was all over CNN, Fox News and all the other major news networks. There were no suspects which was a good sign. That meant that Donreco were still in the clear although he lived in Miami.

“Damn, that shit’s makin’ big news,” Buff said feeling himself as we watched the coverage of the murders.

Zeus was on the phone grinning from ear to ear. When he hung up I flashed him a smile. “I love your dimples, but why the hell are you smiling so damn hard?”

“Donreco had access to their stash spots and got over 30 kilos of that soft and ten million in cash. Whew!” Zeus said getting up to slap Buff five excitedly. They would split that shit equally.

“Oh hell yeah my nigga. It’s time to build that new money room and invest in a couple more clubs. In a couple years we can pull out and shit,” Buff said flashing his dimples even harder than Zeus was.

Peaches was just sitting there with dollar signs in her eyes as she rubbed Buff’s head. It was like I could hear her say “ching ching”. I was hoping that it was just my imagination.

“We gotta go to South Carolina to meet Donreco this weekend. We getting’ at least fifteen of those bricks and half of the cash. We gotta come up with a way to get that shit back without us gettin’ twenty plus in the pen,” Zeus said.

“Damn my nigga. The money’s ‘bout to really start comin’ in now ‘cause this shit is all fuckin’ profit,” Buff said rubbing his hands together greedily.

“Time to retire,” Zeus looked at me. “Plan my future and make some investments.”

  I didn’t say a word.

  Chapter 7

Just like Buff had said, the money was rolling in and he and Zeus’s income had increased by millions. That raw, uncut that they’d gotten off the Gutierrez Cartel was proving to be very lucrative. The second money room was already full and they were talking about getting a bigger house built. Zeus had even mentioned moving to Atlanta to invest in some real estate. He was starting to talk about marriage and starting a family even more lately. He’d even been talking more seriously about retiring from the game too. Part of me didn’t want to give up the excitement yet. I was only eighteen. Shit, I enjoyed the rush of it all and the intrigue of the hustle; although Zeus wouldn’t let me actually play a physical role. On the other hand, he often took my advice when it came to making executive decisions. He knew that I didn’t think like most women, so he valued my opinion.

Needless to say we skipped bike week. A month or so later, the story about the massacre of the top Gutierrez Cartel members had died down. It was speculated that they’d had some kind of beef with a rival Jamaican crime organization called the Miami Jamaican Mafia and they’d killed them.

On one particular night Zeus and I were having pillow talk about that snake ass nigga Money. Now that the job of eliminating the Cubans had been done they could concentrate on finally killing his trifling, snake ass. Tut had found out that he was laying low at his Aunt’s house in Skippers, VA. It was out in the sticks, so that nigga thought he was safe.

“Me and Buff was going to take a trip up there, but his son’s birthday is this weekend. Tut said he’s gonna try to sneak in to see his lil’ man and then sneak back out. We goin’ be waitin’ in the cut for that nigga to leave and then we goin’ rock his ass to sleep,” he explained.

I just laid my head on his bare chest and lightly caressed the wrinkled skin of his gunshot wound without saying a word. A smile simply spread across my face as I waited patiently for the right time to volunteer to be the one to kill Money.

The next morning I found Buff and Zeus in the office talking in hushed tones. “What’s up ya’ll? Where’s Peaches?” I asked.

“What’s up Zero? She went to get some blunts and a bottle of something. We just sittin’ here discussin’ some business shit.” Buff said.

My heart started beating with excitement. I wanted to know what the business was, but he was in no rush to tell me.

“Good mornin’ baby,” Zeus said with a frown plastered on his face. “I cooked some breakfast if you’re hungry.”

“I had a cup of coffee, so I’m fine. So, what’s the plan for Money?” I asked anxiously.

Zeus’s jaw muscle twitched in anger as if he was getting mad about the shit all over again. “We’ll take care of that shit baby. Don’t even worry yourself about shit like that.”

“Worried? Is that really why you think I’m askin’? Nigga do I look worried to you?” I studied his handsome face.

Buff sat up with a thoughtful look in his eyes. “Maybe we should involve Ze in this. I mean, she obviously looks at murder different than most women. Right Killa?”

I smiled. “Hell yeah.” I plopped down between them on the leather sofa. “So, what’s goin’ on?”

Buff started explaining as Zeus sat there quietly with a skeptical look on his face. When he was done I just shook my head. “Don’t ya’ll see that you need a woman to do the job right? Last time you put a hit squad together that shit caused all types of craziness. Let me do it.”

Zeus shook his head and stood up to protest. “Hell no…”

Buff put his hand up. “Hold up man. Let’s hear Zero out for a minute. She might be on to something.”

Zeus gave him a look and paced the floor in silence.

Niggas get distracted by women and think with the wrong head. I know that Money’s attracted to me, although he’s never acted on it. I can use that shit to my advantage if I go to him,” I explained.

“Like I said, HELL NO!” Zeus yelled. “I will not have you flauntin’ around that nigga and catchin’ another fuckin’ murder case. This is our problem and we’ll solve it! I’m still pissed about that shit you pulled in Miami.”

I decided not to acknowledge his last statement. “I want to repay you two for what you did for me, but I needed to be there. I had to be involved. If you really love me Zeus you have to come to terms with the fact that takin’ a person’s life isn’t hard for me. I don’t know why I’m wired that way. The thought of killin’ someone for violating someone I love is justification enough for me. I’m not stupid. I’ve been comin’ up with a plan for how to get Money for a while now. You don’t have to worry about me catchin’ a murder charge baby. As far as flaunting in front of him, why would that matter if he’s dead? It’s not like he’ll be walkin’ around with the image in his head,” I said pleading my case. “All I have to do is find a way to coincidentally run into him, which won’t be hard being that Tut knows where he will be. Tell Tut to let him know that we broke up. He’ll put the idea in Money’s head and I’ll nuture it by talking cash shit and pretending like I’ve always wanted to fuck him. It’ll be easy. I have a way to bring his bitch down too.”

“She’s got a point man. I mean, we can do it, but imagine how risky that’ll be. I’m sure Greyson and his boys are already sitting back waiting for us to fuck up,” Buff rationalized.

Zeus rubbed his head and sighed. “So, I should have my girl out there risking having something over her head? I said no Buff. I ain’t letting my girl do that shit. What happened in Miami is different. If it was up to me she would stayed her ass in that fuckin’ hotel. Besides we were there. Shit, would you let Peaches do it?”
