by McDonough, Vickie;

  “Sarah Jane Oakley, do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

  She grinned up at Quinn. “Oh, yes, I sure do.”

  His eyes twinkled with delight, and a soft smile danced on his lips. He squeezed her hand tight, so different than the last time they were married.

  The plump minister grinned. “By the powers vested in me by God and the state of North Dakota, I now pronounce you man and wife.”

  Quinn’s grin lit up his whole face. “I intend to kiss you this time—to make up for last time.” He bent toward her, without waiting on the minister to say the words.

  He thoroughly kissed her until the minister coughed.

  “Yuck,” Ryan called out.

  Quinn grinned against her lips. “Is that good enough, wife?”

  Sarah shook her head. “It will do for now, but I think you can do better. I know you can.”

  His eyes twinkled and he nodded.

  “Let me present to you Mr. and Mrs. Quinton James McFarland.”

  The ranch hands whooped and tossed their hats in the air. Grandma fanned herself and reached out for Anna’s hand. The small crowd of townsfolk clapped and cheered.

  Sarah walked down the short aisle on her husband’s arm. He was more than she could ever have hoped for. Quinn hadn’t been looking for a wife, and she hadn’t wanted a husband, but God had other ideas. He’d given her a man to love and had provided a wonderful home for her family. She looked at the image of Jesus in the colorful window on the side of the church. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings!
