China had heard enough. She grabbed her purse and keys and headed for the front door. She knew that Mekhi wasn’t perfect, but she didn’t want anything to happen to him at the hands of her brothers. Buck was a sweetheart, but Snake and Grim were menaces to any society. They made good on any threats that they issued out. As much as she enjoyed chilling with Mekhi, she knew that it was best if they ended whatever they had. Being with him wasn’t worth losing her family. China knew that she would miss spending time with him, but she couldn’t risk having her brothers find out. She would never be able to live it down if they did.

“Oh my God! Yes!” Shay screamed to the top of her lungs. She was jumping up and down, and her daughters were jumping with her. They didn’t know why their mother was so happy, but they enjoyed being silly with her. After going online to check her bank account like she did every day, Shay had to do a double-take when she saw her balance. She only had two hundred dollars the day before, but now she was a little over twelve thousand dollars richer. Her case worker had told her that they were starting the garnishment process on Mekhi months ago. Shay had given up hope since it took so long, but her faith in the system had been restored.
“What are you screaming about girl?” Shay’s mother walked into the room and asked.
She worked an overnight shift at her job and ended up staying the night at her mother’s house since her kids were there.
“Look,” Shay said as she showed her mother her online bank statement. “They finally caught up with Mekhi’s ass.”
“Thank you, Lord,” Shay’s mother said as she lifted her hands to the sky. “I told you not to worry about it. Good always prevails.”
“I’m so happy. You know I’m gonna look out for you too mama. I appreciate you always helping me with my kids,” Shay promised.
“That’s all fine and good, but you need to save some of that money to DeShay. Do something nice for your girls and put the rest up. You’ve been doing fine for the past few months. Don’t go blowing that money in the mall and the clubs. After that last fight you had, you need to stay out of them places anyway,” her mother fussed.
Shay knew that her mother was going to bring that up, but there was no need to. After the fight that she had with Rylee, she hadn’t been back to the club since. That night put a lot of things into perspective for her. She was so embarrassed after she was left standing there half naked in front of all of those people. She was forced to come to terms with a lot of things. One being that Zyrian really didn’t want her anymore. He damn near body slammed her and her girls to protect his wife. That alone let her know that whatever they had was officially over. She had a decent man in her life who seemed to really like her. Instead of focusing on something that she could never have, she decided to focus on what she already had.
“Did you hear me DeShay?” Her mother said snapping her out of her thoughts.
“Yeah, I heard you. I wanna bring the girls somewhere nice for the weekend, and then I’ll put the rest of the money up,” she replied.
“Good and you be careful too. Some of these men do some crazy stuff to keep from paying child support. I don’t trust that Mekhi boy as far as I can throw him,” her mother said before she left out of the room.
Now that was something that Shay agreed with. Mekhi was known to do just about anything, and she didn’t trust him either. Aside from Kendrick, Shay didn’t talk to anybody in the family. Kendrick was the only one who kept up with her daughter and came to see her. The rest of them didn’t give a damn, and that included Mekhi. Then his sad ass had the nerve to have another baby on the way. She didn’t even know the baby’s mother, and she felt bad for her already. Mekhi didn’t even have a number on her, but it’s not like he wanted to talk to his daughter anyway.
“Come on girls. Let’s get dressed and go out to eat,” Shay said to her girls.
It took her a while, but Shay finally realized what was important to her. It wasn’t the club or a man. It was the three little girls who looked up to her to provide for them.
Chapter 23
“This is a nice ass truck. Where you got this from?” Big Moe asked Mekhi when he picked him up.
“One of my bitches let me hold it down for a little while,” Mekhi arrogantly replied referring to China. He called herself trying to leave him alone, but one round of good sex had her changing her mind.
“This is a big boy truck right here,” Big Moe complimented.
“Yeah, I’m thinking about getting me one since the insurance people finally cut my check.”
“Cool, but what’s up with you? What got you all fucked up in the head?”
“Man, I swear I got the worst fucking luck in the world. First, that bitch Janice crossed me then I lost my club to that fuck boy Tommy. And if that wasn’t enough, the fucking child support and student loan people hit my account for close to thirty thousand dollars,” Mekhi rambled sounding defeated.
He’d been deferring his student loans for so long that he must have run out of time. They started sending letters for him to make payment arrangements, but he ignored them all. That was a huge mistake on his part, and he found that out the hard way. He almost passed out when he got his bank statement earlier that day and saw how much his balance was. He’d been checking his mail, but he hadn’t opened any of it in a while. When he did, he had notices from both the child support office and the student services warning him of the impending garnishments. He was sick knowing that Shay’s money hungry ass was sitting on thousands of dollars of his hard earned money. There was nothing that he could do about it now, but he did withdraw all of his money and closed the account. He put all of his money and important papers in his safe that he kept carefully hidden at his apartment.
“Got damn, now I know why you sounded so depressed on the phone,” Big Moe said shaking him from his depressing thoughts.
“Yeah man, shit is all fucked up,” Mekhi sighed.
“Nigga you need a few drinks. Let’s go by that punk ass nigga Tommy’s spot,” Big Moe suggested.
“Man, I’m not going nowhere around that dude.”
“What about your old bar that you told me about? You ever go back over there?” Big Moe asked him.
“Nope and I don’t have a reason to.”
“Didn’t you say that your ex-wife owns it now?”
“Yeah, she owns it with her new husband. The same dude that I fought with at the club a little while ago. She’s married to Snake’s first cousin,” Mekhi informed him.
“What! So you and that nigga got beef over a bitch? I thought it was some other shit going on. This hoe better be bad as fuck too. You always wanna see my women. Let me see what she look like,” Big Moe requested.
“You already saw her. That’s the one on the pictures that was in my office,” Mekhi confessed.
“The big fine chick with the tattoos on her sides?” Big Moe questioned.
“Yep,” Mekhi answered.
“Damn nigga, that’s why you used to get mad when I said she was fine. How you let another nigga take your wife from you?”
“He didn’t take shit from me,” Mekhi snapped.
“Don’t get mad at me. You’re the one who let that nigga take your wife and your bar,” Big Moe instigated.
“Whatever nigga,” Mekhi said waving him off.
“Real shit, you need to burn that bitch down. Then you need to burn Tommy’s club down with his punk ass right inside of it.”
“And who do you think will be the first person they look at if something happened to any one of their businesses? I see why you stay in jail, you dumb as hell,” Mekhi shook his head and frowned.
“Just pass through there to see what’s up. I know you’re curious,” Big Moe suggested.
“Not really,” Mekhi shrugged.
“Bullshit! You still talk about that place, so I know you miss it. Just pass through and see what’s up. We don’t have to go in, but I’m well protected just in case you want to,” Big Moe said while lifting
his shirt to reveal his gun.
Mekhi thought about it, but the decision was easy. He’d passed by MJ’s a few times while it was being renovated, but he hadn’t been that way since it had opened. Aside from Rylee, MJ’s was his first love. He was very curious to see how it had turned out. That was as close as he was going to get to a bar or club anyway. He was done trying to have one of his own. For some reason Mekhi felt like being a business owner wasn’t meant to be for him. Besides, he couldn’t afford to buy another one on his own even if he wanted to. And there was no way in hell that he was getting another partner. He’d had his fair share of being burned to last an eternity.
“Let’s do it. I might get out and go walk up in that bitch,” Mekhi said feeling confident since he was with Big Moe.
They drove towards the directions of the bar with Big Moe hyping him up the entire time. The closer they got to their destination, the more nervous Mekhi seemed to get. He wasn’t the type to go looking for drama, but Big Moe had him hyped.
“Pull up closer. I can’t even see shit. Why you parked all the way down here?” Big Moe said when they got to their destination. Mekhi parked all the way on the corner, but he couldn’t see anything, but the sign on the front of the building.
“I got my reasons. I’m not trying to get too close,” Mekhi replied.
“Them niggas got you scared like that?” Big Moe questioned.
“I’m not scared of a damn thing. I just got my reasons for not getting too close,” Mekhi repeated.
Big Moe didn’t know that it was Snake’s sister’s truck that they were riding in, and Mekhi didn’t feel the need to tell him. China’s truck was very noticeable, and he didn’t want anybody to see them.
“Look, somebody is moving from a spot up there. Pull up closer so we at least see what’s going on. I know your scary ass ain’t trying to get out.”
Mekhi ignored his comments, but he did move up closer when another parking spot became available. They had a perfect view of the club and everybody who was standing outside of it. Buck was the first person he spotted standing there with his brothers and their cousin Derrick. Snake and Grim had on t-shirts with the new club’s name and logo written on the front. Mekhi assumed that Zyrian hired them on as bouncers. That was a smart move if he had to say so himself. He still couldn’t believe that he named the club after Rylee. If she did half the shit to Zyrian that she did to him, he knew without a doubt that her new husband was in love.
“I got a good mind to walk up to that nigga and put a bullet in his head,” Big Moe said turning Mekhi’s attention back to the men who were standing out front. A few of them he didn’t recognize, but he knew all of the men in Zyrian’s family.
“If Zyrian’s punk ass was out there I would be on board with you,” Mekhi replied.
“I want that nigga Snake. He caught me off guard, and that’s exactly what’s gon’ happen to him,” Big Moe said as he continued to stare.
“What the fuck you doing bruh!” Mekhi yelled when Big Moe rolled the window all the way down.
“Calm your scary ass down. Them niggas can’t see all the way over here,” Big Moe frowned. Mekhi was pissing him off with his paranoia. Zyrian had him shook, and he wasn’t even out there.
“Them niggas looking right in our direction,” Mekhi informed him. It was dark, but the sign on the building gave a partial view to where they were parked.
Snake nudged Grim and pointed to where his sister’s truck was parked. They all looked in that direction expecting to see China emerge, but she never did.
“Maybe that’s Kirk ole broke ass driving,” Grim assumed.
“You know she don’t let that nigga drive her truck,” Buck laughed as they continued to stare.
“Let me go see what the fuck is up with this girl,” Snake said as he walked towards his sister’s truck.
“Nah man, let her ass get out if she wants to talk,” Grim replied stopping his brother in his tracks.
Snake raised his hands like he was saying what’s up right before a barrage of gunshots rang out in his direction.
“Fuck!” Grim yelled out as he watched bullets rip through his brother’s body. He grabbed his gun and started shooting back at his sister’s truck as the driver backed up going in the opposite direction. Everybody in front of the club dropped to the ground, but Derrick and Buck ran to see about their fallen loved one. Grim couldn’t really see the driver, but he recognized the shooting passenger as the man that he and his brother had fought with at Mekhi’s club.
“Call an ambulance. He’s still breathing,” Buck instructed Derrick. Grim ran back over to his brother and kneeled down in front of him.
“Hold on bruh, help is on the way,” Grim said as he grabbed his brother’s bloody hand.
“What the fuck Moe!” Mekhi yelled as he sped away from the bar nervously.
“You saw what that nigga did. He held his hands up like he wanted to know what was up, so I showed his ass,” Big Moe replied.
“This is his sister’s truck. He probably thought it was her in here. That’s why he walking over to us,” Mekhi said in a panic.
“His sister,” Big Moe repeated.
“Yes, that’s why I didn’t want to get to close to the building. They gone know it was me once they talk to her. Fuck!” Mekhi shouted as he repeatedly hit his hand on the steering wheel.
“How was I supposed to know that? Tell her to report this bitch stolen. We can wipe it down and ditch it somewhere,” Big Moe suggested.
“Nobody is gonna believe that bullshit. That don’t even sound believable to me,” Mekhi argued.
“I really don’t give a fuck. I’m not scared of them niggas, you are,” Big Moe shrugged.
“It’s not about being scared of nobody. You probably just killed a man, and I drove you to do it. I’m not trying to go to jail behind nobody else’s bullshit.”
“Then do what I said. Tell your girl to report the truck stolen and let’s ditch it. We can burn it if that’ll make it more believable,” Big Moe replied.
Mekhi didn’t answer him, but he grabbed his phone to call China. He didn’t like his idea, but he really didn’t have a choice. Burning it was out of the question, but he had to ditch it before he got caught in it. He thought back to when Tommy first told him that Big Moe was trouble. Mekhi brushed him off, but he wished he would have listened for once in his life. Now he was in the middle of some shit that he wasn’t sure he could get out of. He knew one thing for sure, though. If he dodged this bullet, Big Moe was going to be one less nigga that he associated with. His list was already small, and it had just gotten smaller.
Chapter 24
“Shhh,” Zyrian said as he covered Rylee’s mouth with his hand. “You gon’ wake my babies up.”
“Baby slow down. You trying to kill me or something,” Rylee whispered.
“No, I’m trying to kill this pussy,” Zyrian replied as tossed her legs over his shoulders and slammed into her.
“Uh, shit,” Rylee screamed loudly. “Fuck me!” She begged.
She didn’t have to tell her husband twice. Zyrian was giving her long hard strokes making her body tremble with each thrust. Both of their phones had been ringing for the past twenty minutes, but he refused to let her answer them. The twins had just gone to sleep a little over an hour ago, and he pounced on Rylee as soon as they went down. He was ramming the dick so deep that he had her seeing stars for a while.
“You like that?” He asked as he lowered her legs.
“Yes!” Rylee cried out in pleasure, and he flipped her over so that she could be on top.
“Now ride it,” Zyrian instructed as he gave her ass a hard smack. That was all that Rylee needed to hear before she went buck wild. She squeezed her muscles around Zyrian’s erection and bounced on him like he was a pogo stick.
“Smack it again baby,” she urged as their moans filled the entire room. Zyrian did as she instructed and gave her ass a few hard smacks, driving her insane. He was in another world as he watched Rylee
s breast bouncing up and down to the rhythm that she had created. The continuous ringing of their phones did nothing to stop the show that his wife was putting on for him. She had his undivided attention at the moment.
“Baby, the phone,” Rylee said as she slowed down her movements.
“Fuck that phone, keep riding until I cum,” Zyrian instructed in a hoarse voice. Rylee was squeezing the life out of him, and he felt the end coming soon. When she gapped her legs open wider and went all the way down, Zyrian almost bucked off of the bed.
“Shit baby, I’m about to cum,” he yelled as he gripped her hips tighter. Rylee starting bouncing even faster until Zyrian’s seeds spilled out and filled her up.
“That was another set of twins right there. You better be lucky you’re on birth control,” Zyrian huffed.
“Yep and I take them faithfully. I love my babies, but I’m not ready for anymore,” Rylee panted.
“Get up so we can change these sheets and take a shower,” Zyrian ordered.
“Okay,” Rylee said as she stood up. “I wonder who that was calling this late. It’s almost midnight.”
“Shit, let me get my phone. I forgot all about that,” Zyrian replied right as the doorbell rang.
He and Rylee looked at each other strangely before rushing to put their clothes back on. They had company all the time, but nobody ever showed up without calling first. They had a feeling that something was wrong, but neither of them said anything.
“Who is it?” Zyrian yelled when he and Rylee walked down the stairs. She was standing behind him waiting to hear the person on the other side of the door reply.
“It’s Amber. I have my mama and grandma with me too,” Amber replied.
Zyrian looked at his wife with a confused expression on his face. Her expression matched his as he opened the door and looked into the worried faces of her relatives. Rylee didn’t have a huge family, but she assumed that something must have been wrong with one of them. Why else would her grandmother be out of her house so late at night?
