SEYMOUR REIT re-created the story of the Civil War’s most incredible spy through Emma’s memoirs, U.S. Army records, and files from the National Archives. The author of more than eighty books for young people, he was the creator of Casper the Friendly Ghost and was an experienced animation cartoonist. He wrote for radio and television and served on the faculty of Bank Street College of Education.
