Hugh pulled her close with a chuckle and snorted. "That is ridiculous. Why ever would I look at another when I have you all to myself?" He ran his hands over her hair then down to her belly. "You're the only woman I desire to look upon." With that, he hefted her into his arms and started for the keep. "Babe or no, small or no, you are beautiful, lass. Never think otherwise."
"Hugh," she said, startled, throwing her arms around his neck to steady herself.
He only smiled, carting her inside.
A fuming Jamie followed on his steps. "McCross," he fairly growled, chastising him, for one and all were left with little doubt as to what Hugh's intentions were.
"McBruiey," Hugh said without breaking stride in the direction of his chambers. "Just remember who saw us soundly wed. Now, I'll do with my wife as I please."
Catriona risked one look over Hugh's shoulder to her brother, who cast a look heavenward, but soon she could no longer see him. Soon she was being deposited on her husband's bed.
She landed softly, but the hard body that followed on top of hers crushed her into the mattress. His mouth came down hard on hers, but a moment later, his kiss turned into soft nibbles.
"Dia, lass."
