The boy watched them leave. Then he looked back in the direction of Ghazni, where the kind lady Marina lay in the hospital close to death. He'd heard the staff talking amongst themselves in Pashtu, and what he heard wasn't good. He knew the two men had a mission to accomplish, one that was life or death.
It doesn't sit right. Leaving her on her own, surrounded by strangers. What will happen if she awakes and calls for a familiar face? What will happen if...the worst comes to the worst?
Archer watched him intently, waiting.
"What should we do, boy? She may need us."
The two barks were enough to convince him. He turned the Fordson around and headed back to Ghazni. He would wait at the hospital and stay close to her.
