“Duh,” he said laughing. “What kind of guy would I be if I went Dutch? To be honest, it took me a few days to get the courage up to call you. I didn’t want you to release hell on me again.”
“Well, I can’t make any promises,” I said chuckling thinking that his timidness was really sweet. “But I will do my best to keep the fire from escaping.”
“I very much appreciate that ma’am, and I’ll do my best to keep my drink in my glass,” he said with an English noble accent that made me giggle.
“Alright, well I have to get back inside. I’ll see you at six. Don’t be late,” I said sternly but flirtatiously.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” he replied in that deep voice that always made my knees weak.
When we hung up, I stood in the sanctuary staring down at the black screen on my phone. All kinds of emotions were running through me from nervous to anxious and even a little excitement. My initial reaction was to call Megan, but I really should keep this to myself until I figure out just what this dinner means. I knew she would have a great pep-talk, but she would also fill my head with dreamy visions of the future, especially since she was caught up in the ever after dreamland of wedding planning. Instead, I tucked my cell into the back pocket of my dress pants and took in a deep breath of the cold air.
My desk stood out as I walked back in, and though I knew I had to finish what I was working on before leaving for the day, all I really wanted to do was rush back to the apartment and find something perfect to wear. I drug myself back to the wooden cell and did my best to get the work done as fast as possible without doodling hearts on the corners of the paper. When I was done, I packed up quickly and dropped the finalized report in my boss’s mailbox, glad he was gone for the day. I jetted out of the building, escaping the glances from my co-workers, and hopped in a cab. I had to get my hair done, and wardrobe picked out before he got there. I wanted to meet him at the car because I knew I might not be able to escape those big brown eyes if I invited him in.
I stood in front of my bed looking at the different options of clothing. Do I wear the professional, I just got off work, outfit? Do I go casual and play the, ‘Oh I didn’t know we were going anywhere fancy’ card? Or do I slip into this dress and show off exactly what I knew he was looking for? I sighed and turned toward the mirror looking at my body. One thing I knew for sure, I was definitely wearing this matching bra and panty set, you know, just in case. The last thing I wanted was to make one of my spur of the moment life choices and be stuck standing in front of him in cotton undies and a supportive and conservative bra. Nope, instead, I was going with the red lace thong and matching push-up bra, telling myself it was definitely a practical decision.
Chapter 5
Jason
My palms were sweating so bad I was having a hard time gripping the leather steering wheel. It had to be no more than sixty degrees outside, but I had the air conditioning on full blast, trying to get ahead of sweaty armpits before they took over. I looked down at my shirt at least five times, making sure I was wearing something nice, but not too fancy. I wanted her to feel comfortable with the real me, not the super suited business man I was during the day. It’s not like she hasn’t seen me in worse but it was the first time I would get to be alone with her, and I wanted her to be impressed. This girl had me all sorts of tied up in knots.
As I rounded the corner and pulled up in front of her apartment complex, my nerves really started to run wild. Should I go up and get her? Should I call her and tell her I am here? This wasn’t technically a date nor did I want her to think that is what I was trying to pull, but on the other hand, I didn’t want to seem too aloof. Why was this so damn difficult?! Just as I was about to get out of the car and take the middle road, having the front desk clerk call up to her, she came walking out of the front door, pulling her long pea coat closed over her short strappy dress. Her hair blew wildly around her as the wind washed across the face of the building. I’m pretty sure when she looked at me my mouth was hanging wide open, and she laughed out loud.
She got closer to me, and I walked around to her side, opening the door as she approached. Jana looked at me with those gorgeous eyes and perfectly powdered cheeks and raised her eyebrow. She was so damn sexy.
“What, no company car tonight?” She was used to me showing up in the chauffeured town car from work.
“Nah, not company business,” I said helping her inside.
“And the trips to the bar on 6th was company time?”
“Well, it was that or I drive this thing drunk,” I said shrugging my shoulders. “I think I made a better decision in that instance.”
“Agreed,” she said as I closed the door and skirted around the car to the driver’s seat.
“Before we head out, I just want to apologize one more time for how I behaved the other night,” I said, turning toward Jana.
“You already apologized, it’s water under the bridge,” she replied waving her hand at me.
“I just figured it warranted an in-person apology,” I chuckled.
“And I appreciate it,” she said smiling kindly.
The drive there was quiet, and I tried to keep my eyes on the road and not on her long legs crossed in the passenger seat. She stared out the window, watching the buildings pass by, probably wondering where we were going. I pulled up to the valet in front of Hailey’s, an upscale casual dining spot Ryan had told me about months ago. He liked to bring Megan here because the food was good, the service was great, and it was quiet. I wanted a bit of privacy so I could have Jana’s full attention.
She smiled as I opened her door and tended to the valet. We went inside, and the hostess showed us to a small table along the wall. As Jana pulled her coat from her shoulders, my heart started to race. She was wearing the dark blue dress she wore the first time we went out, well out further than my bed. She looked absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t help but gawk. If she noticed she didn’t give on to it, so I picked my chin up from the floor and sat across the table from her. We ordered a bottle of wine and some salads and watched as the waitress walked away. It felt a little awkward at first, but I knew I couldn’t let that go on.
“So,” I said breaking the silence. “Their big day is coming up if we can ever get through all of these parties.”
“Ugh, I know,” she said rolling her eyes. “There’s one on Saturday at Ryan’s parent’s house. It’s like the most drawn out engagement I have ever seen.”
“Well, that just means free champagne and more cake,” I replied scrunching my nose at the last part of it. “So, tell me about being a Best Man, I am completely lost.”
“Okay, so you are pretty much Ryan’s bitch,” she started, chuckling to herself. “You have to plan the Bachelor Party, make sure he is where he needs to be during the rehearsal and before the wedding, you have to hold the rings until the ceremony when they are given to the ring bearer, and you have to escort me back down the aisle of the church when the ceremony is over.”
“Wow,” I said feeling like I should be taking notes.
“Oh, and you have to make a speech,” she continued.
“Oh, man. I have to make a toast. I completely forgot about that part,” I replied, already feeling nervous about talking in front of all of those people. “I’m definitely going to have to take advantage of the free champagne beforehand.”
“I’ll be right there with you; I have to make a toast too,” she replied, taking a long swig of her wine. “I hate public speaking.”
“Well, we’ll share a bottle,” I replied raising my glass.
“Or three,” she laughed. “Oh, about the Bachelor Party…”
“Megan would rather there not be disgusting hookers or strippers,” I said cutting her off.
“Well, yes that too,” she replied. “But try not to get Ryan too wasted. The next day is the rehearsal, and we want him on his toes.”
“One thing about Ryan is, he doesn’t really fall to peer pressure too easily,” I replied rememberin
g Ryan to always be the responsible party.
“I know, but I wouldn’t be a good Maid of Honor without putting it out there,” she replied, looking up as the waitress arrived with our salads.
By the time we were done giving our order and starting to eat, the subject had changed to work, and we laughed at each other as we complained about our jobs. The conversation was normal and good, and I realized just how much I actually missed having Jana in my life. She was sarcastic but sweet and had a way about her that made you want to keep her out all night talking and joking. Not to mention that she looked incredibly sexy under the lights and every once in a while she would lean forward, forcing my eyes to stare down at her heaving breasts.
“You know,” she said, pulling my eyes back to her face. “This was a lot nicer than I actually thought it would be.”
“Uh, thanks?” I wasn’t quite sure how to take that, so I shrugged my shoulders and laughed.
“That sounded rude. What I meant to say was that I had a really nice time,” she said, folding her napkin and setting it on her empty plate.
“Me, too,” I smiled.
I took my time driving back to her apartment, going a long way around the city. I know she noticed but she didn’t seem to care. The sparkling of the city lights reflecting off the windows created shadows that danced across her body. She was relaxed, a change from when she had first gotten into the car. When we arrived at her building, I parked and got out, walking to her side and holding the door open. We strolled closely to the door of the apartment. She stopped and stared at me, a look on her face as if she were thinking about something.
“I have a bottle of wine from the other night,” she said, looking down at her purse, clutched in her hands. “It was a gift from Megan for accepting the duty of Maid of Honor.”
“Wow, all I got was a lecture,” I said trying to lighten the mood.
“You want to come up and have a drink before you head home?” She looked timid, and part of me didn’t want to ruin this perfect night, but the other part of me didn’t want to leave her side.
“Sure,” I said smiling. “Let me go park the car in the garage, and I’ll meet you in the lobby, okay?”
She nodded her head and smiled, relieved at how easy I made that. I moved the car into the parking garage attached to her building and got out, feeling a little nervous. I guess I should have had more than one glass of wine to calm myself down, but I knew I was driving her home. As I walked toward the doors of the complex, I could see her standing inside under the fluorescent lighting. She was looking around nervously, tapping her hands against her legs. Part of me hoped this wouldn’t stop at one drink.
Chapter 6
Jana
All the confidence I had held onto through dinner was definitely now gone. I didn’t know if it was the wine from the restaurant or Jason’s kind mannerisms, but I was definitely feeling like a girl on her first date. We rode the elevator in silence, but not an awkward silence, more of a sensing each other’s closeness kind of silence. I could feel his heat next to me, and though I really wanted to reach over and grab his hand, or something in that area, I kept my hands folded in front of me, grasping onto my keys. He had worn his turquoise button up and black pants, the outfit I loved the most on him. His eyes reflected the deep hues of his shirt and his stance was calm and relaxed.
The door to the elevator opened and we walked side by side down the hall until we reached my place. He waited patiently as I fiddled with the doorknob. My key always got stuck in the lock.
“You still haven’t gotten that fixed? I can take a look at it before I leave,” he said, smiling.
“It’s okay. I called the super, and he is going to send someone up in a few days,” I said, knowing full well I was completely lying. I didn’t want him to waste our time together fiddling with a lock we both know just needed to be replaced. In fact, we had had this conversation days before I stopped calling him, after a night where we slept with the keys still dangling from the doorknob.
When we got inside, I flipped the lights on, and Jason walked directly into the living room where he always went. He had his hands in his pockets as he walked through the room, looking at the pictures hanging on the walls. He smiled at a picture of the four of us taken the first night I met him. I hadn’t put it up until recently, so he hadn’t seen it before.
“I’m going to grab the wine,” I said walking into the kitchen. “Make yourself at home.”
“Let me know if you need help,” he yelled from the living room.
I stopped for a moment and looked around, feeling completely displaced in my own apartment. My nerves were bubbling up inside of me, and I needed them to calm down. I needed to act like nothing was on my mind. I pulled the glasses down and opened the bottle of wine. After pouring wine into both glasses, I looked down at mine and picked it up, tipping the bottom, and chugging the entire glass. I refilled the glass and set the bottle on the counter, not wanting him to know I just did that.
“You want to hear something funny?” It was time I confessed.
“Sure,” he said taking a glass from me and sitting down on the couch.
“I really didn’t know the guy from the party that well,” I said, sitting down next to him. “In fact, it was our first date.”
“Oh, why did you bring him to your best friend’s engagement party then?”
“Honestly?” I said, watching him shake his head. “To make you jealous. I know it’s horrible, and I am really sorry, but I didn’t know you were going to go nuts and start a fight with him. Either way, it was wrong….”
He set his glass down quickly and grabbed my face with his hands, pressing his lips against mine. At first, I kept my eyes wide open and my face frozen, but slowly I relaxed into him, letting his lips move over mine. His mouth was familiar and warm, and I couldn’t muster any strength to pull myself away. He loosened his hands and pulled our mouths apart, looking into my eyes, unsure of my reaction. I didn’t have any words, so I leaped forward into his arms and kissed him harder, letting his hands slide around my waist.
He pulled me close to him with one arm while grabbing onto the back of my neck with the other hand. His kiss was deep and needy, and it made my heart pound loudly in my chest. I reached up and began to unbutton his shirt while his hand moved from my waist and down to my thigh. Slowly I could feel his hand slide up my skirt and stop at the edge of my panties. He pulled his hand back out and stood up, reaching down to me, and pulling me to my feet. He took my glass from my hand and walked me back to my bedroom where he took his shirt the rest of the way off and turned to me.
His eyes were dark with lust as he slipped my dress from shoulders and watched it fall to the floor. Jason ran his fingers across the red satin of my bra and leaned into me as he unclasped it, allowing my breasts to fall loose. As if the sight of my tits bouncing broke the barrier, he stepped forward, grasping them firmly in his hands and running his lips across my collar bone. I closed my eyes and reached down, undoing his belt and zipper before tugging gently and feeling his pants hit the floor. I ran my fingers across the rim of his boxers before diving my hand inside and grabbing his shaft firmly in my hand. He groaned lightly in my ear, sending a heat through my body.
As I tugged his boxers free, I used both hands to stroke his cock.
“We need a condom,” I purred, trying to be sexy about it.
“Not a problem.” He moved back and grabbed on from his clothes on the floor, slipping it on as I watched him intently. Fuck, I wanted him so bad it hurt.
He growled softly and walked toward me, pushing me onto the bed. Before I could scoot back, he grabbed my ankles and dropped to his knees. I gasped as his tongue rubbed across my clit, sending waves of lust through my stomach. I reached down and twirled my hand through his hair as he licked and nibbled, grabbing my thighs and holding down. Slowly he moved his face upward, rubbing his soaking lips and chin up my stomach and through my breasts. Without missing a beat, he hooked my knee over his shoulder a
nd pushed his thick cock inside of me.
I gasped, gripping tightly to his shoulders and arching my back. He thrust hard and fast, the sound of our clashing skin echoing through the room. He sat up, grabbing my other leg and moving them both over his shoulders as he held on to my waist and continued, looking down at me with heat in his eyes. I could see the tension mounting on his face, and I pulled my legs down twisting my hips with the motion of his.
I screamed out, grabbing onto anything around me as I rocketed closer and closer to orgasm. The sound of his deep fast breath brought need to the pit of my stomach, and I pulled him closer, feeling his long shaft slipping in and out of my wet pussy. It was erotic, feeling every single inch of his dick.
“Fuck, Jana. You feel so good.”
“Don’t stop. Please,” I whimpered and wrapped myself around him tightly.
He groaned out, pushing his body into me and reaching up with both hands, grabbing on to the headboard for leverage. My hips started moving faster and faster as his skin pushed hard against mine. As I reached my peak, I arched my back and screamed out, feeling his body begin to stiffen.
