Take Me Home Tonight (Wild Nights Book 1) Page 3

by Trista Jaszczak

I give my head a shake, luckily my little diversion seems to have gotten their mind off Zorro. Just in time too because I’ve caught him staring a few more times. “I wonder what time it is?” I ask, glancing over the crowd and towards the front door. “We got here at nine or so, we have to be getting close to opening.”

Lucy makes a face, “I think it’s time for you to mingle.”

I cock my head to the side and give her a funny look just as she smiles and shoves me right for Zorro. I stumble over in my huge stilettos and right into Zorro’s arms. My mouth drops as he cradles me gently in his arms and smiles. “I…I am…so sorry…” I feel my cheeks becoming warm. What the fuck was she thinking? She literally just threw me at a man. Who in the hell does that? Here I am, Zorro holding me as he smiles. God…he smells so good.

“Are you okay?” He asks, helping me stand up.

I give him a little nod as I straighten out my costume. “I’m fine. I am so sorry.” I’m at a loss for words. All I can think about is Lucy throwing me right into his arms.

“Are you out with your friends, too?” He asks, giving Lucy and Cindy a little wave. Of course they’re standing behind us staring. Why wouldn’t they be? I am going to kill Lucy before this night is over.

I swallow and give him a little nod. “We’re out celebrating Halloween.”

“Us too,” he smiles, pointing to the Lone Ranger and Tonto.

“Really sorry to interrupt.” I smile, starting to turn away.

“What’s your name, gypsy?” Zorro grins, stepping away from the Lone Ranger and Tonto.

My name. He asked my name. Jesus. What is my fucking name? Suddenly I’m drawing a complete blank. Think. You know your name. Don’t look stupid in front of this man, you already look bad enough. “Ember,” I blurt.

“Ember,” he repeats softly. “Beautiful name.”

  “What’s yours, Zorro?”

“You actually know who Zorro is?” He laughs, looking down at his costume. “I was beginning to think no one would know who the hell I was.”

I laugh, “Of course I know who Zorro is.”

“I’m impressed,” he smiles brightly. “Someone asked me if I was a Johnny Depp character earlier,” he gives his head a shake. “My name is Remy, though.”

“Nice meeting you Remy. I should let you get back to the Lone Ranger and Tonto,” I tell him, softly. “Sorry again for what happened.”

“No worries, Ember. I tell you what, you can make it up to me by saving me a dance and letting me buy you a drink.”

I let out a breath. I’m no longer with Jonah. I’m not doing anything wrong. Jonah cheated on me and dumped me. I kicked him out of the apartment. Jonah and I are over. This is perfectly okay. It’s just a dance and a drink. It’s not like a real date. Just a dance and one little drink. Come on Ember, you can do this. Just say “yes” or nod or do something to let him know that you’re actually paying attention.

“Sure, a drink and a dance.”

“You have a deal, beautiful. I can’t wait.” He smiles, turning to the Lone Ranger who gives him a pat on the back.

I turn back to Lucy and Cindy who are both grinning. I know they’ve both eavesdropped since they have nothing better to do. I take a deep breath and smile. I am making the most out of tonight, I remind myself. I am going to be wild for the first time in my life. I have earned this. I am going to have a few drinks and dance with Zorro. What could possibly go wrong?

  10 p.m

The club opened at ten on the nose and by the time the doors did open, everyone in line was so antsy they practically shoved their way through the door. Lucy, Cindy, and I head up to the bar, completely unaware that Zorro and his friends are right behind us. I feel a hand come down on my shoulder and turn to see Remy grinning.

“I owe you a drink, remember?”

I give him a nod. “And a dance, too. Don’t forget my dance.”

“What’ll you have?” He questions, flagging one of the bartenders down.

  “Whiskey sour,” I reply.

He flashes me that bright smile that makes me wobble in my stilettos. He turns to the bartender ordering my whiskey sour and a scotch on the rocks for himself.

“Thanks again for the drink,” I tell him.

He gives me a little nod. “Don’t mention it.”

“Where did the Lone Ranger and Tonto go?”

He shrugs. “I told them to get lost and entertain themselves for a bit.”

I laugh as he passes me the whiskey sour. “Afraid they’ll cramp your style, Zorro?”

“Zorro does work alone, now doesn’t he?”

“Touché, Zorro, touché.” I have a sip of my drink as he reaches for my hand and nods towards one of the deserted corners.

“Will your friends be okay without you?”

I look back at Lucy and Cindy who are both nodding their heads, smiling.

I give him another nod as I have another sip. “They’re giving me the green light so it must be okay.”

Remy smiles as he guides me through the crowd of people that have gathered up by the bar and past the dancers that are now crowding the dance floor. I’m actually amazed at how quick this place filled up. I have another drink as Remy stops in a corner that’s furthest from the DJ table.

He has a drink of his scotch and smiles. “I’m going out on a limb and hoping that you’re single.”

I laugh, “it’s funny you should mention that. I am very newly single.”

  “How new?”

“He dumped me about twelve hours ago,” I admit, turning red in the face.

  “Ouch. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay,” I tell him, having a long drink of my whiskey sour. “I should have seen it coming.”

“I was dumped, too to be honest with you,” he takes a drink from his own cup. “She broke up with me last night. Which is why my friends brought me here.”

“Aw,” I say making a pouty face. “Her loss is my gain, right?”

He laughs and gives me a little nod. “You do have a very good point, Ember.”

“Look at you! Remy remembered my name!”

He chuckles and this time I can tell that his cheeks are turning a little red. It’s actually adorable on him.

“Well, I could hardly forget the name of the beautiful gypsy in front of me that was talking to her friends about blow jobs.”

Now it’s my turn to blush. He did hear Lucy’s little conversation from earlier. I am seriously going to kick her when this is all over. “You heard that, huh?”

He nods, laughing as he has a sip of scotch. “Loud and clear.”

I take a deep breath and to avoid blushing more I bring my glass to my lips for a drink.

“Just to let you know, I do like to have my balls played with during a blow job,” he winks.

I immediately choke on my whiskey sour, nearly spitting it all over him as he laughs.

“You heard all of the conversation, didn’t you?” I ask, trying to compose myself.

He releases a little laugh and smirks. “I’ll be honest with you. I was actually staring at you the entire time we were in line. You were the reason we got in line. We were on our way to another club when I saw you. I asked my friends if we could check this place out first.”

“So you listened to my friend’s conversation about blow jobs,” I take a deep breath as I smile and shake my head.

“Well, I was mostly staring at you. You looked like you had other things on your mind, but now that I know you had some issues with your ex, I know why.”

“Well, she was coaching the woman who was just dumped about blow jobs, believe me, I already know how to give one and I’m pretty damn good at it if I may add.”

It’s Remy’s turn to nearly choke on his drink. “Well, maybe one day if I’m lucky I’ll get to see just how good you are at it.”

I let out a little laugh and lick the whiskey off my lips. “I’d say you probably owe me at least two more drinks and that dance before we cross that
line, Zorro.”

“Oh, is that so?” He raises his eye brows, grinning, as he has another swallow of his scotch.

“One step at a time Remy, one foot in front of the other. Besides, you could be a psycho who is preying on women and will end up trying to kill me.”

“I’m just talking about blow jobs, a few more drinks, and some dancing. I promise I won’t kill you, sweetheart.”

I laugh, “Well, that’s one hell of a combination.”

“I never said it was in any specific order,” he winks.

I playfully shake my head and have another drink. “You’re getting way ahead of yourself, Zorro. Pace yourself. The night is young.”

“Where are you and your friends going after this?”

I shrug. “We’re kind of flying by the seat of our pants. We have no clue to be honest. We mentioned Midnight’s because someone suggested it, but we’re not from here so we probably couldn’t get there if we tried. Hell, I can’t even remember where our hotel is.”

“Good, we cannot remember our hotels together, because I forgot mine, too,” he laughs.

“That one little scotch already getting to you?” I tease, shaking my head. “Lightweight.”

He nearly chokes on his drinks again, laughing. “So, what do you do Ember?”

“I’m a hair stylist. I own my own salon.”

“Jesus, well, that’s a little intimidating. A woman who has her shit together. I like it.”

  “What do you do, Zorro?”

He smiles, “I teach high school English class.”

I raise my eye brows. “Well, I did not see that coming.”

“I know, right,” he laughs. “If only my students could see me.”

“Why do I hear Hot for Teacher being played in my head right now?” I wink.

He chuckles as he finishes the last of his scotch. “Guitar solo and all?”

“Of course!” I laugh. “So what is a high school English teacher doing in a New York City night club?”

“I got dumped and my friends thought I needed a pick me up,” he explains, “They were pretty well convinced that I would meet the woman of my dreams.” He places his empty glass on the tray of a waiter walking by as he smiles. “Low and behold I meet you Ember.”

I feel my cheeks flush. “Ah, the scorned woman who fell on top of you.”

He laughs, “I saw your friend, the nurse, push you into me.”

I laugh, “Ah, you saw that, huh?”

He gives me a little nod. “I heard the conversation, too. Seems like you had eyes for me, too.”

“Oh, that…you heard…” I bite down on my bottom lip. If he heard Lucy’s blow job one-oh-one class then of course he heard us mentioning his eyes.

“I did hear,” he smiles, “seems you like my eyes?”

I sigh and nod. “They’re very beautiful. Very bright. I noticed right away.”

“I’m very flattered by that to be honest with you. It made my night.”

“So, tell me, Zorro,” I smirk, “what does the rest of your face look like?”

He lets out a little chuckle as I finish the last of my whiskey sour. I catch a waiter passing by, set it on their empty tray, and thank them. Remy takes off his hat revealing dark, short hair and passes it to me, “care to hold this?”

I give him a little nod taking his hat in my hands as he reaches behind his head and removes his mask. He is gorgeous. His eyes really are the brightest blue that I have ever seen and there’s a sexy five o’clock shadow present. He’s chiseled and lean, I doubt the man has one ounce of fat on his body. He has to be over six feet and nothing but pure muscle mass. He gives me a bright smile, “there, now we have no secrets.”

I shake my head and lean forward as I beckon him over with my finger. “There’s just one more secret…” I let my voice trail as I take a breath in. I can smell the scotch on his breath instantly and suddenly I have to fight the urge to kiss the man I just met. I lick my lips and grin. “I’m not really a gypsy.”

He laughs as he begins tying his mask on. “Is that so?”

I pass him the hat and give him a little nod as I stand up straight, “I just thought you’d like to know.”

“Can I interest you in another drink?”

“Sure, thank you,” I tell him, “whiskey sour for me, please.”

He takes my hand and smiles as he leads me to the bar. He orders our drinks and slaps some money on the counter. The music is beginning to pump louder throughout the club. I glance briefly towards the dance floor and see that Cindy and Lucy have found their way on the dance floor with Remy’s friends the Lone Ranger and Tonto. If I know them well enough I’d say they’ll stick around with them for the rest of the night. Remy turns to me and passes me the whiskey sour as he leads me back to our little deserted corner.

“You said that you’re staying in a hotel,” I say over the now blaring music, “where are you from?”

“I live in Ithaca, know where that is?” He takes a swallow of scotch and I feel my mouth drop.

“Funny you should say that…I live there too.”

His eyes grow wide. What are the chances? Talk about a nice twist of fate. Zorro just so happens to be from my hometown.

“Well, if that’s not a coincidence.” He releases a soft laugh and licks the scotch from his lips.

Remy looks at me and gives me a smile that makes my knees buckle. Blame it on the whiskey, blame it on the night, blame it on my stupid brain and worthless heart…but I lean forward and I press my lips to his.

I drink in the taste of the scotch off his lips and when I feel him kissing me back I let out a little sigh. I feel my drink slip from my hands and crash to the ground where it grazes our feet. Moments later his own scotch does the same thing as his hands grab tightly onto my waist so that he can pull me into his body. I wrap my arms around him and I sigh into his mouth as he deepens the kiss letting his tongue glaze over mine as he squeezes my body into his.

My brain becomes fuzzy in that moment and I try to blame the alcohol. I know that I’m not drunk off one drink but I’ll tell myself anything right now to try to understand what I’m doing. I pull away, panting heavily, and look around the room. The bartenders are making drinks, waiters are grabbing people’s empty glasses, and the club goers are dancing and keeping themselves entertained with the music.

I look at Remy and sigh. I feel his hands slip slowly to my backside as he leans forward and kisses my jawline. I let out another soft moan that he more than likely can’t even hear over the music and the crowd. He takes a fingertip and drags it slowly down my jaw, down my neck, over my collar bone, and slowly down my exposed chest. I suck in a breath of air as he reaches the fabric of my barely there shirt. His fingertip trails over my nipple that immediately goes erect with his touch. I push into him and my lips fall onto his without hesitation.

He yanks away and I’m left panting and covered in goose bumps. I lick my lips and try to compose myself. Remy smiles and nods just behind us. I peer over his shoulder and see a lone door with a sign that’s lit up of a male stick figure.

Jesus…this cannot be happening. I’ll never hear the end of it from Lucy and Cindy. People don’t really do this…do they? Oh God, what am I about to do? Am I really considering this? I was just dumped. I said that tonight would be my night to be wild and crazy for the first time in my life. I stare at Remy who smiles. I remember my clutch Lucy…she was smart enough to give us a small handful of condoms.

Oh God, my heart is pounding. I can hardly think with this music, but I know enough that I want him. Even if it’s just for tonight, I want him. I give him a little smirk and slow nod as he looks around us and grabs my hand leading me to the men’s bathroom. He pokes his head in the door and looks behind us. He gives me the all clear and we dart inside where he locks the main door behind us. He quickly double checks the empty stalls and reaches for me as soon as he sees that we’re all alone.

“You’re gorgeous,” he tells me, pushing my butt against the
vanity, “do you know how bad I wanted to fucking kiss you?” His lips brush against mine as he lifts me onto the counter and pushes my skirt up.

I feel my legs shake as he traces a fingertip along the inside of my thigh. I tilt my head back and close my eyes. I can’t remember the last time Jonah touched me. Come to think of it, I can’t remember the last time Jonah and I had sex. It had to have been months ago at the very least. To say I’m deprived is an understatement right now.

He moves his finger up, closer to my panties where I feel myself pushing my hips towards him. He lets out a playful laugh as he retracts and begins sliding his finger back towards my knee. I let out a little grumble as I open my clutch and pull out one of the condoms, slipping it into his palm. If I wait any longer God knows I may never get the thing out of my bag.

  He smiles, “you came prepared.”

I give him one last nod before his lips smash into mine. I feel his hand move back up the length of my thigh but expect him to stop and tease me more. This time he doesn’t tease, his finger finds its way into my panties and runs up and down my folds.

I jump slightly and shove my hips towards him again as his finger slides slowly into me. I let out an immediate moan as I grab onto his shoulders and open my legs further. I feel another finger slide into me as his thumb begins rubbing my clit gently.

My legs shake violently as I moan in his ear. It has been weeks…it’s been months…my body feels like it’s going to explode. I pant heavily, drawing in deep breaths as Remy pushes me hard and fast to my release. I grab a fist full of his black shirt and let out a scream as I come hard.

I lean the back of my head against the mirror as my trembling body calms. “Oh God…oh God…”

He presses his lips to mine, letting his tongue flick slowly over mine, giving me the taste of his scotch again. His hat falls to the floor as he grabs onto my hips and pulls me to the edge of the sink. I move my hands down and fumble with his belt buckle as he begins working the condom from its wrapper.

My heart feels as though it’s about to beat out of my chest as my shaking hands push his dark pants and silky boxer briefs down. His already hard cock springs free and he works the condom on properly. He pulls my panties to the side as he gives me another tug towards the edge of the vanity. I feel head of his shaft tease my entrance as he lifts my chin with his finger. “Are you sure?”
