  Chapter 47

  (Penny)

I saw Warren’s car pull up. He opened the door and got out as the car was still coming to a stop. He was by himself, driving a car that was worth more than anything I would ever own collected together. He took off a pair of sunglasses and threw them on the roof of the car.

He charged toward me and I went to him.

Before we could touch, Nathan’s guy got in the way.

“Arms up,” he said. “I’m checking for a gun.”

“Like fuck you are!” Warren yelled and pushed. “Where’s my daughter?”

“It’s okay,” Nathan said. He pointed to the back door. “Erik said he brought her here for safe keeping.”

I started to run, along with Warren.

The back door to the gas station was only feet away, but it felt like a mile.

I heard Noah call my name.

I looked back and he was shaking his head.

  I kept going though.

Warren grabbed the door and pulled.

  It was locked.

  “Dani!” he screamed. “I’m here!”

He started to pound on the door.

Nathan slowly walked to us and pointed a gun at the door. “Back up. Let me do it.”

Noah grabbed me by the waist. “Honey, don’t…”

  The gun went off.

I lost all hearing for a split second.

The door was cheap and the handle exploded.

Warren tore the door open and lunged forward.

I wrestled with Noah and broke away from him as he called my name again.

I didn't understand why he didn’t want me to go into the gas station.

Dani was in there, right? We were going to save her. This was all part of the plan.

I hurried forward and crashed into Warren’s back. It knocked the wind out of me for a second. I watched as he fell to the left, against a wall, covering his face.

Erik had been telling the truth.

Dani was right there, right in the gas station. In a chair, tied up, just like he had showed me in the picture. Only now?

  Dani wasn’t alive.

“What happened?” Warren screamed. “What the fuck happened?”

I could barely catch my breath.

Noah grabbed my arm and pulled me close. I buried my face into his chest and started to cry. His arms were tight around me, holding me.

“I’m so sorry,” he whispered. “Nathan just told me. Erik… fuck, honey. I’m so sorry.”

Noah then started to walk back, taking me with him.

  “Oh, shit,” he whispered.

  “What?” I asked.

I looked up at him. I tried to turn my head, but Noah grabbed my face and forced me to stare at him. He kissed me.

That’s when Nathan’s gun went off again.

I jumped and the kiss broke.

When I turned around, Warren was on the ground inside the gas station.

  “What the hell?” I yelled.

Nathan spun and pointed the gun at me. “Nobody messes up a fight for me.”

“Is it done yet?” Noah asked. “How many more people…”

“It’s done,” Nathan said. He put the gun away and approached us. “Listen to me carefully. That man owed my family money. His real estate empire was built on broken lies and mistrust.”

  “But Dani…”

“She was innocent,” Nathan said. “And I’m sorry for what happened to her, Penny. I couldn’t control that part. But there’s nothing I can do to bring her back. Plus, Warren had already spoken to someone about killing both of you.”

  “What?” I asked.

“The person he called happened to be a close friend of mine. Warren wanted to take out my top fighter. And he cost me a lot of money by showing up to a fight with a gun and killing Raider. That’s created tension that I don’t need. Everyone pays, Penny. Remember that.”

And there we all stood, in silence.

Noah slid a hand around my waist.

There was death all around us.

Yet somehow I felt the slightest comfort. Because it really had to be over. Even if Nathan was then going to kill me.

I looked at Nathan. “Now what?”

“Now you tell my driver where to take you. It’s all over.”

I looked up and back at Nathan.

  He nodded to me.

  It’s all over.

“But before we break apart here,” Nathan said. “I’m going to honor something my family traditionally does. We don’t like to be in debt with other people. As far as I’m concerned, Noah, I owe you a favor. You think it over and…”

Noah waved a hand at Nathan. “I know what I want… right now…”

  Chapter 48

  (Noah)

I slowly slid the thin strap down her shoulder and kissed her. My hands gently tugged until both straps were off her shoulders. I pulled the entire top down, enough to expose her breasts. I kissed at her neck and then opened my mouth, sighing against her soft and sweet skin. My hands touched her shoulders and came down, cupping her breasts tight.

Penny put her head back and let out a long groan. She clutched at my jeans and whispered my name. Noah.

It was a thing of fucking beauty.

I kissed down her chest and took her left breast into my mouth. I didn’t give a shit what kind of comments Penny made about her tits, they were perfect for me. All I could ever want and need. My hands inched down and I grabbed the bottom of her tank top. Up and off it went, leaving her in nothing but a black pair of panties.

Ten seconds later, she was fucking naked.

My hands cupped her ass and I put her on the dresser. I made sure to kiss her other breast to keep things even before I traced a line with the tip of my tongue up her neck and to her mouth. Then we kissed as she opened my jeans. Her hand grabbed for my rock hard cock and squeezed tight.

  I hissed and smiled.

This was just like the first time we met.

She had come into my life like a storm and fucked everything up. Yet it all made sense and made my life damn near perfect.

My hands pulled at the small of her back and I let her guide my cock right to her body. As I entered her, every muscle in my body tensed and every nerve in my body tingled.

“I fucking love you,” I growled, my lips at her ear.

Penny put her hands to the back of my head and kissed my cheek. “I fucking love you too. Now take me to the bed and fuck me.”

Normally I didn’t like to be told what to do, but in this case, it was exactly what I had planned on anyway.

I took Penny to my bed and had her. Our hands and hearts explored each other as though we’d never get the chance again. I kissed everywhere I wanted to and her whimpers and cries of pleasure bounced off the walls.

  The truth?

As much as I had her, she had me.

“We’re going to be late,” Penny said as she fought with a brush in her hair. She stood in nothing but a towel.

What started in the bedroom, finished in the shower. There was just something about having her in the shower. The hot water running down her body. The way her skin glistened from the water, the color of her skin, her breasts, her nipples, all leading down her entire body. She was beautiful and the most single perfect thing I had ever encountered.

I grabbed her by the waist and kissed her. “We’re fine. We’re VIP, remember? We can come and go whenever we want.”

“Fine.” She smiled. “Are you sure it doesn’t bother you? I mean, that could be you in the ring, Noah.”

I buttoned the top button on my shirt. I nodded. “I know. But Dalton deserves this more. He’s going to do great. And he’s going to get his break tonight. He’ll never have to worry about getting jumped. Or facing demons on the street. He needs it more than I do. I’m happy with what I have.”

“A girlfriend and illegal underground fighting?” Penny asked.

“It’s so much more than that,” I whispered.

  I kis
sed Penny’s forehead and walked away.

I had one favor owed from Nathan. I could have asked for protection for life. My retirement from fighting. A million dollars. But the first thing that came to mind was Dalton. He was the main event in a boxing match, set up by Nathan. All legit. All above ground. Dalton was going to win, get signed by Nathan, and he’d have a long and good life.

I had a beer while I waited for Penny. I thought about everything between us. It was hard to do, honestly. There was just so much there. Good, bad, in between. I wanted to get out of the apartment. I wanted me and her to pick out a place together. Somewhere we both could call home.

  “Hey, you ready?” Penny asked.

I spun around and she stood in a black dress that made my heart stop. She had subtle curves that she didn’t even realize. Her face was as pretty as her eyes. Her hair was let down, barely touched other than the brush, yet she looked ready to walk the red fucking carpet in front of the entire world.

“Christ,” I said as I stood up. “You have no idea…”

Penny strutted toward me, working herself. She knew she looked sexy. She touched my chest, dug her nails, ran her fingers up to my neck, and then kissed me. I never let a woman take control but around Penny? Goddamn.

“You better stop that,” I whispered in between kisses. “Or else we are not going to leave this apartment.”

“Good to know… because I haven’t even zippered my dress yet.”

  Chapter 49

  (Penny)

We got there in time. Barely.

We sat two rows back from the ring. The crowd cheered for Dalton as he stood there looking scared to death. He looked around and when he spotted Noah, he motioned his hand at him.

Noah stuck his fingers into his mouth and whistled.

I had never been to a boxing match before. It was so foreign to see. All of it being legal and allowed. An actual referee in the ring. A bell. Rounds. Rules. It was really something. The best part was this was Dalton’s chance.

The bell rang and Dalton went right in on his opponent. A flurry of punches sent the guy back to the ropes. The two tangled and the ref broke it up. People cheered.

Dalton went back in again. This time he took a couple punches to the face and ribs. He jumped out of the way, keeping his hands up, shaking the punches off.

“He’ll learn,” Noah said. “It’s different when it matters.”

I realized I had been clutching at Noah’s leg. It made me nervous to think that Dalton could lose. I barely knew the guy, but I wanted the best for him because he had been dragged into the mess with Erik. After what happened with Dani I realized that Dalton should have been dead.

The two got close again and exchanged more blows.

  Nobody was really winning yet.

  It was driving me crazy.

“They’re feeling each other out,” Noah said. “The guy has no left. No power. That’s where Dalton has to get him. Force him to throw a weak punch so he’s open.”

Literally two seconds after Noah said that, Dalton side stepped a punch. The guy threw a left, weak, just like Noah said. Dalton took the punch and quickly fired back with a right hook, slamming the guy in the jaw. The guy’s neck looked like jelly for a second and he stumbled back.

  Noah jumped up and cheered.

Dalton threw another punch. Then another. He put the guy on the ropes and hit two more times before the guy fell to the mat. The ref hurried to the guy’s aid. The guy pushed himself back up to his hands and knees but he was visibly shaken.

Dalton had complete control of the rest of the round. And truthfully, if the round had another ten seconds, I didn’t think the guy would last. Dalton was good. Strong. Smart.

What else would I have expected though? He had been trained by Noah.

  “That was intense,” I said.

Noah made a fist and waved it at Dalton.

“This round it’s over,” Noah said.

  “Oh?”

“A little side betting going on. Nathan has a bonus involved if Dalton takes this guy out in the second round.”

“Are you serious? That’s why he eased up?”

  Noah grinned.

“You just can’t help yourself, huh?”

“I love fighting, money, whiskey, and you.”

  “Good to know.”

“I’m getting all of that tonight, too.”

  “Is that so?” I asked.

Noah leaned in. “Don’t worry though, the fighting part? That’s just me fighting with your panties as I rip them off your body.”

“That fight is already won,” I said back. “I’m not wearing any panties.”

  “Christ,” Noah growled.

The bell rung and the second round started.

Dalton went in and took full control of the fight again. He worked the guy around the ring, waiting for the knockout punch. When it came, the crowd erupted into cheers. I thought Noah would have done the same, but he didn’t move. Instead, he grabbed my hand and held it. It took me a few seconds to realize there was something in his hand.

  He looked at me.

  “Noah…”

“You were kidnapped how many times?” he asked.

“More than I care to think about.”

“Why not make another one?” he asked. “Then we both can be taken, together.”

I didn’t need to open my hand to know what was about to happen. My heart raced and the cheers of the crowd faded. Noah kissed me before he opened his hand.

I didn’t need to see the ring to say yes.

For him, I’d forever be taken.

  THE END.

  From the authors:

Here we are again at the end of another wild book. This one was very different for us. This story had been sitting around for a while and we decided to break it out for this summer and see what would happen. Truthfully, the cover is what brings this all together. So we owe a big shout out to Cormar Covers for coming up with such an amazing concept! This book was wild, over the top, and we’re pretty sure there’s more twists than a roller coaster! It took a lot of notes to keep the story moving the right way, but it was well worth it!

We hope to hear from you as we love to read emails and messages from our readers.

Until next time… thank you for being there with us along the way…
