  Acknowledgments

It’s been a year since I published a book, and I’m delighted to be here writing the acknowledgments for a new book. A lot has happened in these twelve months, good and bad things, and I’m grateful to God for pulling me through it all and helping me get back on track.

I’m also grateful to all my bookish friends, authors and readers, who have supported me and given me a reason not to give up. Some people think the Internet doesn’t help to be social, but I have to say I am grateful for all the amazing people from all over the world I’ve met over the past twelve months, thanks to that crazy little thing called Facebook. These people were the ones who helped me stay on track and keep writing when I doubted myself, and for that, I will always be grateful to Mr. Mark Zuckerberg as well.

I’d like to thank my new beta readers: Sabine Monnier, Amelia Richardson, and author Jami Albright, for the precious help and useful feedback. You helped me fix things I didn’t know how to fix, and see faults I didn’t want to see. I’m looking forward to sharing my next books with you, ladies.

And I’m adding a last-minute shout-out to Anne Elam, an early reviewer who spotted something very important nobody else noticed, and to Lisa Cherry and Wendy Wachter for helping me give the book the final polish with your suggestions. Thank you for your help!

Huge thanks to the wonderful Najla Qamber, at Najla Qamber Designs who, as usual, did an amazing job. Because of my messy ideas, I had serious doubts she’d be able to create a cover for this book, but she just proved once again what a talented artist she is, and nailed it on the first try. I love working with you, Naj. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for book two!

Thanks are in order for my new editor, Serena Clarke at Free Bird Editing. Thanks for all the useful comments and suggestions. I’m extremely happy about how the story has turned out, and it’s you I have to thank for all the ideas on how to make the story even better.

Finally, thank you to all my readers—old and new—who have been supporting me, bought my books, left lovely reviews and just sent me nice e-mails or comments. Readers are the reason I can keep writing and sharing my stories with the world. You make it possible, and for this you have my utmost respect and appreciation. I hope you like Ellie and Adam’s story, and that you will enjoy getting to know the people of Spring Harbor.

  Happy reading!

  About the Author

Roberta is an Italian author of sweet, heart-warming romances set in Ireland or in small towns in the United States—two places where she’d love to live while writing full-time. She’s also an avid reader who thinks daydreaming should be a paid profession and that the world would be a better place if bookworms ruled it.

Growing up as an only child, she spent all her free time with her nose stuck in books, enjoying the company of fictional friends, while dreaming of becoming an author. Discovering books by Rosamunde Pilcher was the turning point in her life, and she decided to start writing down the stories that kept playing in her head, just for fun. After the first couple of stories, though, she found it impossible to stop—and she’s been writing ever since.
