  “I can’t hold it.”

  “Hold it Quinn.” He ordered.

  I was so close.

  He drove deeper, harder.

  I groaned.

  “Not yet baby.”

He picked up his pace and lifted his hips slightly, changing the angle.

  Oh god.

  “I can’t –”

  “Now.” He demanded.

I fell apart. My orgasm swept through me instantly, making my entire body pulse and shudder.

He pushed me further, pleasure almost to the point of pain. It hit me so hard the world went fuzzy.

“Harrison.” I breathed. “Harrison… Harrison.” Over and over again.

“Quinn.” He growled as he thrust into me, one last, hard stroke.

  ***

“Oh god.” I panted. “Where the fuck did that come from?”

“Ah…” He pointed to his crotch. “I’m pretty sure…”

I laughed and swatted at his shoulder. “Jesus, I was referring to all of...” I gestured between to two of us. “All of… that.”

“It’s probably been building since you started thinking dirty thoughts about an unconscious man.”

  “You’re a cocky little shit aren’t you?”

“That’s not what you were saying a minute ago.” He grinned.

I laughed and snuggled into his side. “It most certainly was not.” I sighed.

He trailed light patterns over my bare back with the tips of his fingers.

“Can I ask you something?” He asked after a few minutes.

  “Go for it.”

“What was with Logan and the whole dad routine this morning?” He asked warily.

I giggled. “That’s just how he and my brother roll.”

I perched up on one elbow so I could look at him.

“I guess Logan’s like a brother to me too. He and Lawson have been friends forever and he’s always been there for me, even when I didn’t need them interfering.” I rolled my eyes at all of the over protective memories. “And I guess with my dad not being in the picture, they kind of took on that roll too.”

  He nodded in understanding.

“I guess some things just never change.” I shrugged.

“I think it’s cool.” He replied.

“You do?” I asked, surprised by his thoughts.

“Yeah.” He nodded. “I’m glad they’ve had your back.”

I was glad too. They may have scared off more boyfriends than I’d care for, but in the end they were usually dead on the money about the type of guys they were anyway.

“So he wants to meet me?”

I nodded and smiled. “And he’s gonna go running to Lawson with this the first chance he gets too, so you’d better prepare yourself to meet both of my protectors.”

He groaned but his grin told me he was joking.

  I snuggled into him again.

“I’d love to meet them babe.”

We fell into a comfortable silence and my mind wandered back to the way his body felt against mine, they way he filled me.

“That was good right?” I asked absently as he rubbed the side of my hip.

He must have been having similar thoughts; he knew exactly what I was referring to.

He growled and twisted so he was hovering above me, taking the breath right out of me.

“Did you just give me a rating of ‘good’?” He grumbled, a gleam in his eye.

His muscles were flexed and he looked hot as hell.

“Um… maybe? Is there something wrong with good?” I asked, confused by the question and his reaction.

He groaned and dropped his head to rest on my shoulder. “Jesus woman. Everyone knows that the scale of positive sex experiences goes good, great, excellent, extraordinary, mind-blowing.”

I laughed loudly. “Where do you come up with this shit?”

  He ignored me.

“That was at least extraordinary.” He insisted, lifting his head back up to look at me. “If you don’t believe me, I’ll have to start from the beginning and show you again.”

“I’ll give you excellent at best.” I offered with wide eyes.

I was full of shit. That was the best sex of my life. Mind-blowing didn’t even cover it.

“You’ve done it now Pierce. I’m always top of the class.”

He dipped his head and started his assault on my body all over again.

I moaned as he took my nipple in his mouth.

“Bring it on lawyer boy.” I breathed, already giving in to him.

  ***

“So what are we doing today?” He asked me brightly.

He’d come downstairs with me, met Logan, taken the interrogation like a trooper, then we’d had breakfast together and headed back upstairs to get dressed.

I had to just about wipe the drool off my chin when he’d dressed in a fitted black t-shirt and a pair of light wash jeans. The jeans hung loose of his hips and the shirt clung to his muscles. He’d slung a pair of sunglasses in the neck of the shirt and thrown on a pair of black Chuck Taylors.

He looked good enough to eat.

“Ah now that’s very cunning of you.”

“What’s that?” He grinned, knowing exactly what I was referring to.

“The question. It gives the impression that I have a choice… but really you’re just trying to trick me into spending the day with you.” I smirked. “Those lawyer tactics won’t work on me.”

“Will you spend the day with me Quinn?” He asked as he tugged on my hand, pulling me into his lap on the edge of my bed.

“See now… was that so hard?” I teased, brushing his hair back from his face with my fingers.

He gave me a crooked grin and my heart faltered.

I’m a total sucker for that grin.

“I have to watch Stella today, Lawson and El are going to some business function.” I glanced at my watch. “I’m picking her up in about half an hour and I’ll have her until six.”

Part of me was disappointed I wouldn’t get to spend the day with him, but I was excited to see my sweet little girl too.

“Can I take you to lunch?” He persisted.

I swatted his shoulder. “I just told you I’ll have Stella.”

“Ah. Does Stella not like lunch?” He feigned confusion.

  Wait… what?

“You want to hang out with me and my niece?” I asked in disbelief.

  “If you’ll let me?”

  Um. Wow.

I bit down on my lip and nodded my head yes.

  “You looked surprised.” He chuckled.

“That’s because I am freakin’ surprised.” I laughed. “I never would have guessed you’d want to be anywhere near a tiny human.”

He chuckled at my term. “I’d love to meet her Quinn. You love her, she’s important to you and I want to know about everything you love.”

  Oh god melt.

“She’s completely unexplainable. You think she’s one good girl but when you get to know her, she’s everything. She’s crazy, funny, honest and you’ll never know what she’ll do next.”

  19. Harrison

Every spare minute of the past two weeks was filled with Quinn. Not that there were all that many, work was crazy. I’d really left Reeve high and dry these past couple of months.

I worked hard all day, and spent half the night with either Quinn’s voice through my phone, or her body wrapped around mine. I’d never experienced anything like this. I just couldn’t seem to get enough of her.

I grinned thinking about all the time I was going to get with her. This weekend was going to be the best thing since sliced bread.

  “I’m here.” I typed out a text.

  I chuckled at her reply.

  “You’re where?”

  “Here, at your office”

“Are you now…? And what can I do for you Mr. Hunt?”

I grinned. I could sense her teasing tone through her message, I could picture her sit
ting back in her chair, her beautiful smile lighting up her face.

“I’m here to pick you up. My sources tell me you’re finishing for the day.”

“Oh lovely. I’ll have to thank Ellerslie for keeping you so well informed. What do you think you’re picking me up for exactly?”

“Just get your ass down here.” I shot back.

I probably looked like an idiot, parked outside their building, laughing at my phone.

“Now that’s no way to talk to a lady. What if I have plans?”

I groaned, a grin still plastered on my face. It was becoming apparent that Quinn didn’t make things easy… ever.

  “Do you have plans?”

  “Maybe…”

“I’m giving you ten minutes to get down here, or I’m coming up to get you.”

Six minutes later I watched her stroll out of the front doors.

  Jesus.

She looked smoking. She had a tight black skirt on that showed off her toned legs and a cream fitted long sleeve top that made her olive skin glow. I should have been ready for the sight of her by now, but I wasn’t. She still caused a lump to form in my throat every time I looked at her.

I grinned watching her looking backwards and forwards down the street for me.

  Looking for my truck…

I tapped on the horn and she finally noticed me.

I jumped out, rounded the front and swung open the passenger door to my classic black Ford Mustang for her.

“Are you serious?” Quinn gaped, dipping her head into the door to take a look. “This is your car?"

  I smirked. “Yes Ma’am.”

She slid in and ran her hand over the black leather. “I’ll give you ten points for this one Hunt. This car is hot.”

I barked out a laugh as I shut her door and jogged around to my side of the car.

She had a massive grin on her face as I hopped in. “I’ve always wanted to have sex in the back of one of these bad boys.”

I growled, leaning across and pulling her seat belt free for her. “Noted.”

She laughed and I stole a kiss from her soft lips, catching her by surprise.

She sighed and touched where my mouth had been.

  Damn…

I stared at her lips “It makes me want to do it again when you do that.” I confessed.

  She smiled knowingly. “I know.”

  Of course she knows.

She shrugged, brushing it off. “So… you got me here. Where are we going?”

I adjusted myself back into my seat and started the engine.

  Where are we going again?

Shit, just being around her had my head all in a jumble.

“Well, I had a plan, but now I can’t think about anything other than screwing you in the back seat of my baby.”

She threw her head back and laughed, sending vibrations through my whole body.

The plan Hunt. Back to the plan.

“You’re coming with me for the weekend.”

“I most certainly am not.” She smiled at me like I was crazy.

Ignoring her, I pulled out into traffic. “We’re heading down the coast to Newport.”

She opened her mouth to argue.

“I’ve got a little house there overlooking the water.”

  “Har–”

“It’s simple but it’s beautiful there.”

  “Harris–”

“I’ll bring you back Sunday evening.” I interrupted her again.

  “Harrison!” She yelled.

  “Yeah?” I asked innocently.

“I can’t go with you for the whole weekend. All I have with me is a gym bag for god sakes!” She pointed toward her feet at the small duffle bag that sat next to them.

“Shit. You’re right.” I feigned agreement.

She shook her head in what I could only assume was disbelief. “Have you been talking to Lawson? He pulled this stunt on El you know.”

  I do know.

  I chuckled. “Did he?”

She narrowed her eyes at me and pointed one finger. “Ellerslie.” She hissed.

I laughed. She wasn’t wrong. Ellerslie had been more than happy to tell me all about the weekend Lawson and her friends had surprised her with not long after they’d met. She told me they’d fallen in love that weekend. I’d decided to run with the idea. The only difference was I wanted Quinn all to myself.

I pulled over and parked outside one of those convenience stores that sells absolutely everything.

We were doing this my way.

“Out you get.” I stated, smiling at her.

She looked out the window and frowned. “Last time I checked, this wasn’t where I live.” She crossed her arms and gave me a defiant look.

I sighed as I pushed my door open and swung my legs out. I moved around the car and opened her door for her, half dragging her stubborn ass from the car.

  “C’mon.”

She rolled her eyes and pushed past me and walked into the store, her hips swaying.

“Now what?” She demanded, standing with her back to me, her hands on her hips.

I stepped in behind her; my body pressed against hers and rested my hands on her shoulders.

Her hands dropped from her hips and she leaned back slightly, relaxing into my touch. Her head tipped to the side, exposing her bare neck. I could feel her heart beating against my chest.

  Shit.

I couldn’t resist. I gently kissed her soft skin before leaning in closer to her ear.

“Get what you need Quinn, because mark my words, you are mine for every minute of this weekend.” My voice was husky.

She moaned quietly and I felt my dick jump.

I needed space before I lost it and took her right here against a stand of breakfast cereal.

Stepping away, I grabbed a basket and handed it to her.

  “Please.” I smiled sweetly.

She rolled her eyes again, but took the basket from me. “Fine…” She strolled down the aisle. “But you’re paying.”

Well that was a hell of a lot easier than I thought.

  ***

She bit into a Mars bar and looked over at me again. I’d never seen a woman demolish so much junk food in my life. I couldn’t figure out where the hell she was putting it all, she’d probably eaten her body weight in the shit already.

“I’ll go with you if you answer me one question?”

I smirked. She was already going with me. We were only about fifteen minutes away at this point, but hell, I could humor her. Her questions intrigued me.

  “Go for it.” I encouraged.

“How’d you get so beat up?”

  I froze.

She dropped her eyes from me and started to fiddle with the wrapper in her hands.

  Get it together.

She’d caught me completely off guard. She hadn’t asked a thing about my accident, she’d never even questioned me about all of my scars, and I’d convinced myself she wasn’t ever going to. I should have known better.

  Lies or the truth?

A part of me, a huge part of me for that matter, wanted to tell her the truth… every last detail about that secret part of my life.

She’ll leave and never look back.

The rational part of my brain told me I needed to shut the hell up. I was a monster. A woman like Quinn wouldn’t want a man like me. Not if she knew the real me.

  I can’t… I don’t want to lose her.

  “Oh, ah… I got jumped.”

She looked back up at me.

  “Have I not told you?”

She shook her head. An expression on her face I couldn’t read.

  Disappointment?

  Does she know I’m lying?

“I was out for New Years Eve and I got separated from my group.”

Not a total lie… I was out… just not for New Year’s… or with a group.

“It was just bad timing. I’m not sure if they were robbing me or just giving me the beat down.”

  I w
as caught off guard again by her reaching for my hand.

“That’s horrible. How many were there?”

Guilt ripped through me. I didn’t deserve her sympathy.

“I’m not sure. I don’t remember too much.”

It was a lie, and the truth. I remembered more than I ever intended to repeat, but there were also so many blanks from that night.

  “I hope they find them.”

  I hope they don’t.

I wanted to settle the score with those bastards myself.

I just smiled at her and flipped my hand in hers. I couldn’t bring myself to lie to her again.

I turned onto the narrow road that led to my little place.

“Here we are.” I announced, pulling into the drive. “Home sweet home.”

  20. Quinn

I wasn’t going to admit it to him, but this was exactly what I needed. Time away from everything… everything except him.

His place was so cute. It was homely and small, but the views… they were to die for. The coast stretched out in front of us, and there was private access onto the jagged waterfront. It was like living in a postcard.

“Can we come back here?” I asked as I sipped from my beer bottle.

His answering smile was blinding. “Yeah… yeah we can.” He replied still grinning like a fool.

“What?” I asked him when he didn’t stop staring.

He shook his head and laughed. “Nothing. I just can’t get over being here, with you.”

I could feel my cheeks turning pink under his gaze.

It was surreal. I looked out at the stunning sunset and sighed. “It’s so beautiful.”

“It’s almost the most beautiful thing here.”

I just about spat out my mouthful of beer. “Oh god you didn’t.” I choked out through my laughter. “What a line.”

“Oh I did.” He laughed loudly.

“That was so corny.” I nudged his knee with mine.

“Still got you didn’t I?” He nudged me back.

I narrowed my eyes at him. “Should I be worried about what’s in the water?”

He just laughed and turned his gaze back to the sunset.

I watched him sitting there, the sun making his golden skin glow.

  “Can I ask you something?”

He took a sip of his beer and flicked his head around to face me.
