Building the Nursery Page 36

by Amy DeMeritt

  “I’m sorry it…”

  “Stop apologizing all the time.”

Jaime presses her lips to mine and slips her tongue along mine, giving me a slow soft kiss. I inhale deeply and wrap my arms around her waist, lifting her up and she wraps her legs around me. I press her back to the side of the house and Jaime releases a small moan and tangles her hand in my hair, increasing the intensity of the kiss. I start to lift her shirt, but Jaime pulls back panting for air and smiling.

“I wish I could describe how happy I am right now. I love that we can do this off of a film set.” She pulls me back into a kiss, but as I start to lift her shirt, she pulls back again. “Wait, can we do this? Can we have sex without the others?” I laugh and quickly pull her shirt off. “Yes, we can do this.”

While I palm over her breasts, I suck her neck and shoulder, increasing her breathing.

“I love you so much, Kayla.” I smile and suck her bottom lip. “I love you too. You are really fucking sexy.”

Jaime releases a small happy laugh, but it’s cut short by a gasping moan as I take her breast into my mouth, savoring it like a decadent dessert. I slip a hand under the waist of her shorts, between her thighs, and her hips thrust against my hand. Jaime is soaked and her saturated panties are clinging to the back of my hand, drawing me in closer and deeper. Jaime looks absolutely exquisite with passion and pleasure coursing through her. As she cums, her thighs tremble and her legs lose their grip on my waist. She lands clumsily on her feet and gasps.

With a shaky hand, Jaime pulls my hand out of her shorts and pulls me into a labored kiss. It’s slow and erratic, as she tries to catch her breath. Jaime pulls back, taking a deep breath and leans her head against the wall for a moment with such a peaceful smile that I feel like I’m watching the moment when a person reaches ultimate enlightenment.

As I trace my thumb along her jawline and around the rim of her ear, I watch as her lips curl higher and her cheeks raise. Her gorgeous golden eyes open and she quickly grabs my shoulders and trades places with me, pinning me against the house. Jaime leans in with her lips on my ear, and her hands slip under the waist of my shorts, pushing them off of my hips.

“I really like how you taste.”

I release a moan and feel Jaime smile against my ear, before she makes a quick descent of kisses down my neck and kneels in front of me. As her mouth enters my center, she rubs her hand over my hip and around to grab my ass.

  “I love your ass.”

I smile and run my hand through her hair. Jaime smiles up at me, palms over my abs with her other hand, and dives back between my legs, sucking hard on my clit.

“Shit, that feels good. Oh, fuck.”

As I climax, my knees weaken, and Jaime grabs my hips to support me, while her mouth slows to draw out my orgasm.

“I guess we found the fire.”

Jaime and I startle and my wives and Symone laugh. I pull my shorts up and Jaime quickly grabs her tee shirt and stands up, looking like she’s been caught doing something wrong. Awenasa walks over and takes Jaime’s hands, ending their struggle to find the hem of her shirt to put it back on.

  “Relax, this is completely acceptable.”

Jaime smiles and wraps her arms around Awenasa. They kiss for a few moments, and then Awenasa helps Jaime put her shirt back on.

“Come on, let’s make a fire.”

  Chapter Thirty-One

My wives bring chairs out from the barn and set them around the round firepit, while I get a roaring bonfire going. Awenasa has Jaime and Symone sit on either side of her, and the rest of us fill in around them.

  “Who wants to go first?”

“Jaime can go first. I went first last night.” Awenasa releases a small giggle, and quickly covers her mouth and clears her throat. “Sorry. Ok, Jaime, do you have any inclinations of what your totem may be?”

“No, I’ve researched it a few times, but I can’t figure it out. I can’t find an animal I really match up with like all of you have.” Awenasa smiles and takes Jaime’s hand. “If you’ve tried to find your totem, why didn’t you come to me sooner?”

“I guess for the same reason Symone didn’t tell you she was borrowing your books. Your totems are such a big part of your family.”

“Both of you are just too cute. In your search, did you only look at mammals?”

“Yes, why? I’m not an animal, am I? You’re going to tell me I’m a squid or jellyfish or something, aren’t you?” Awenasa laughs and shakes her head. “No, my love.”

Jaime’s eyebrows raise and her eyes mist up from Awenasa’s term of endearment.

“Your totem is the crane. The crane is associated with balance, grace, and beauty. The crane can be found on every continent, except two, however it is rare to come across one in normal day to day life and in most environments. When you do happen upon one, it may only be for a fleeting moment and their absence creates a great longing to see them again. When in the presence of the crane, it causes one to be still and quiet, and look inwardly. The crane teaches us to use our past as a source of strength in our present life. The crane teaches fairness, seeks wisdom, and offers protection to loved ones when needed. The crane is also a lover of dance and will use it as a form of communication. The crane is also a symbol of royalty and longevity. Often, when a totem represents longevity, people think it only refers to the length of one’s life, but it also speaks to one’s relationships. A crane will seek balance in her relationships to ensure they last as long as possible.”

“Wow, I really don’t feel worthy of that description, especially the royalty and wisdom part. The part about the past is very interesting though.” Awenasa runs her fingers through Jaime’s hair and gives her a soft kiss on the lips. “I’ve only met one other crane in my life. Trust me, you’re worthy of the totem.”

“I don’t know what to say. What do I do now that I know?”

“You learn more about the crane, and in doing so, you’ll learn more about yourself. Just remember, you don’t have to fit the crane perfectly. So, don’t try to change who you are to match a quality or characteristic that you don’t already have, unless it’s something that can enhance your life. This is about being more in tuned to yourself so you can better understand your position in life and deal with life’s many changes more easily.”

“Will you help me?” Awenasa takes her hands and kisses both of them. “Yes, that’s what I do.”

  “Thank you.”

Awenasa gives Jaime a soft kiss on the lips, before turning to face Symone, who looks very nervous and uncertain.

“Symone, give me your hand.” Symone quickly stops fiddling with the hem of her shirt and offers a hand to Awenasa. “You have an interesting combination of totems.”

  “I have more than one?”

“You do. You have two. Your first and strongest totem is one of great power and dominance. Your first totem is the ram. The ram is feisty and determined to be themselves and does not yield to those who seek to control it. The ram is also associated with great courage and perseverance. The ram is not afraid to do what is necessary to reach its goals and failure is not something the ram accepts. You will keep pushing yourself till you get where you want to be, no matter the obstacles. Because of its great power and dominating presence, the ram is often intimidating to others. However, when given the chance, the ram proves to be sensitive and reserved. The ram teaches us to seek wisdom and new knowledge and to seek new and rewarding experiences. The ram is not comfortable with the status-quo and will push through the roughest terrain to achieve new heights.”

“You really see that in me?” Symone has tears in her eyes and looks very moved. “I do.” Symone smiles and wipes her eyes. “What’s the other one?”

“Your second totem is the rabbit.” Symone laughs hard. “Is that because of my heightened prowess with seduction?” Awenasa laughs and nods. “Somewhat, but it mostly reflects your gentle and nurturing qualities. Once you allow a person to get close to you, you are very cari
ng and loving. The rabbit can also be unpredictable and spontaneous, has fast reflexes, is very observational, and has great instincts. You can sense what paths lead to danger and which lead to success.”

“It’s amazing how you do that. I can see those things within myself, but I don’t understand how you find the animal to match a person to.”

“Without knowing nature, it’s impossible to do. I’ve studied nature and animals most of my life.”

“I have another confession.” Symone leans in closer to Awenasa and caresses her cheek. “The first time I met you, I was immediately attracted to you, but something about you actually terrified me. I felt like you could see through me. I think that’s why I was even more aggressive with Kayla that day. Seduction was my comfort zone, where I felt safest.”

“I know and that was my intention. I didn’t need to force you to stop being touchy feely with Kayla – she is quite capable of handling herself. I wanted you to feel exposed and vulnerable.”

“Why did you want me to feel weak? Was it to get back at me for my behavior?”

“I didn’t say weak. Being exposed and vulnerable is not always a weakness. It can be a great gateway for growth.” Symone looks at her confused and Awenasa smiles. “How did that day end?”

“With Kayla shoving me against the mirror and growling like a wolf, ready to tear me apart.” Awenasa laughs and shakes her head. “Yes, but after that you were able to break through that stubborn wall of seduction you were hiding behind and made a genuine apology and promise to be Kayla’s friend. You stopped viewing Kayla as a mountain to conquer and started viewing her as a new piece of your life, and essentially, a piece of yourself. Which, was a greater conquest than if you had won your seduction game.”

“You are such an incredible woman. I’m five years older than you, but I feel like a child in your presence. You have such an old soul.”

Awenasa’s eyes tear up, as she loosely grabs the side of Symone’s face and pulls her into a kiss. Releasing her with a smile, Awenasa runs a hand down Symone’s neck and rests it over her heart.

“Thank you. That’s a wonderful compliment. Thank you for having the courage to make the internal changes needed to remain in our lives. You have such a beautiful heart and spirit.”

Awenasa closes her eyes, and Symone’s eyes close as she releases a small gasping sigh. I recognize the reaction and know that Awenasa just extended her energy into Symone.

“I love when you do that. Can anyone do that?” Awenasa opens her eyes with a serene smile. “At different levels of intensity, yes, anyone can learn. I can teach you.”

The backdoor opens, and Sara walks out with a coffee mug in one hand and covering a yawn with the other. Our eyes meet and she smiles as she starts walking towards us. As she reaches the edge of our circle, Sam gets up and sits in my lap, offering her seat to Sara.

Sara sits down and stares at Symone with a blank expression and takes a few sips of coffee, unblinking. She runs her fingers through her hair and takes a deep breath.

  “You slept with my sister.”

Symone doesn’t say anything and just continues to stare at Sara. All of my wives look very tense, except Awenasa. She looks like she’s trying not to laugh.

“Are you going to break her heart?”

“No. This isn’t a game for me. This is my life. I’m not…” Sara starts laughing and waves her hand in front of herself. “Stop, I’m just fucking with you. I can’t believe you guys couldn’t wait even a full day after the families went home. You know, I was seriously considering sleeping in the barn last night. You guys were so fucking loud. Jade and Tonya slept with earbuds in all night. Your wild sex screams will be the only thing I don’t miss when Keira and I move out.”

  “Wait, you’re moving out? When?”

“We love it here with all of you, but we can’t live in your basement forever, baby sister. Keira and I want to have a family one day, so we need to get settled in a place of our own soon.”

“Did you decide where?” Sara nods as she takes another sip of her coffee. “We’re staying here. We like it here and we want to be close to family. Plus, the closer we are, the easier it is to run our businesses together. Jaime is expanding her schools, so even when Madison and Sam graduate, I assume this will remain your main home, even if you travel to California often for work. Even if we only stay here for a few years, that’s fine. We’ll just sell the house.”

“What about Tonya and Jade? They know they don’t have to leave, right?”

“Yeah, but they’ll probably move when Keira and I move out. They’re talking about getting a place together here. If you hadn’t added Jaime and Symone to your giant lesbian family, they probably would have stayed.”

“What does that have to do with anything? We like having them here. We’re all family.” Sara laughs and nods. “Yeah, I know and they know that. Look, I know you’d be happy with a giant ass compound with your entire family living on it, and that’s great and everyone loves that about you, but we’re all adults and need to build our own lives. We’ll be close by and we’ll see each other all the time.”

  “When are you leaving?”

“We’re going to start looking at places this week and we hope to be out before Awenasa marries us. We want to be in our own place when we’re married.”

“Wow, that’s less than two months away. How’s everything coming along with the wedding plans?”

“Hey, talking about the wedding without me?”

Keira, Tonya, and Jade walk over with plates of food and drinks. Jaime gets up and sits in Symone’s lap and Madison sits in Shannon’s, so Tonya and Jade can sit down, while Keira sits in Sara’s lap.

“Do you want to tell them now?” Keira looks at Sara and smiles really big. Her delay in answering grates at my patience, so I ask, “Tell us what? You didn’t fucking elope, did you?”

Sara laughs and shakes her head. Keira looks around at all of us and clears her throat. Her smile right now is just amazing. Keira is beautiful with a light cocoa complexion, light brown eyes, plump lips, and high cheek bones. She’s curvy and built similar to Symone, just with less muscle definition. Keira has long natural course hair that she’s currently wearing in three braids that meet as one in a ponytail.

“I want a combination of a traditional wedding and a Cherokee wedding. So, I want all of you to be my bride’s maids. While we’re in California, I want to go dress shopping.”

Everyone smiles really big and starts talking at once with happy comments. Sara smacks my arm and laughs.

“Stop checking out my fiancée.” I laugh and shake my head. “I’m not checking her out like that. She looks really happy, so she’s really beautiful right now.”

Keira laughs and leans over to kiss my forehead.

“Thanks, sweetie. Sara wants you to be her maid of honor.” I smile really big and smack Sara’s arm. “Seriously? What do I have to do? Wait, if you’re doing a combination wedding, does that mean we need to have a bridal shower and bachelorette party? Wait, who’s your maid of honor?”

Sara and Keira laugh at my excited bursting of questions and Keira turns to look at Symone.

“Well, I know my sisters are probably going to be pissed off, but Symone, you’ve been my best friend since high school. You’ve always been there for me and helped me get through some pretty hard shit and you introduced me to Sara, the woman of my dreams. So, I’d really like you to be my maid of honor.”

Jaime quickly gets off of Symone’s lap and Symone and Keira embrace in a tight hug. Keira gives Symone a kiss on the cheek and pulls back smiling to look at her.

“So, is this a yes?” Symone laughs and wipes at her eyes. “Yes, of course. Jolynn is going to be so mad, but yes.”

“She’ll get over it. And I promise I won’t make you wear a horrible dress. You’re all going to look gorgeous.”

“I’m not worried about that. You’ve always had a good sense of style. Well, except for that time you wore those weird satin pan
ts with the leather jacket.” Keira laughs hard and shoves Symone backwards. “That was your fault! You spilt your drink on my pants at Tracy Heegan’s party and those stupid pants is all she would let me borrow.”

“It was a good party though. We need to have a big party before you tie the knot.”

“No strippers.” All of us laugh, but Sara is giving Symone a stern look. Symone rolls her eyes and waves a dismissive hand at Sara. “That didn’t even cross my mind.”

Keira plops back down in Sara’s lap and firmly kisses her lips and runs a hand through Sara’s short hair.

“Even the most expensive stripper couldn’t compete with you, baby. You’re so fucking sexy.”

Sara smiles really big and kisses Keira.

“Well, since we lost those two in kissy town, when are you announcing to the world that you’ve added Jaime and Symone to your family?”

Keira and Sara pull apart and look around at us, waiting for us to answer Tonya.

“Well, Jaime and Symone need to talk to their families first. Awenasa also needs to talk to Sparrow to see if we’ll be able to marry them.”

“If they allow it, when are you going to get married?”

“I don’t know. We don’t want to do it too close to yours, so sometime next year. Have you decided where you’re going on a honeymoon?”

“We wanted to go to an island, but September is basically the peak month of hurricane season, so we decided on Province, France. We’ll be making the travel arrangements this week. It’s supposed to be beautiful this time of year, and there’s a lot to do there.”

“Sounds great. Can we pay for the trip as your wedding present?” Sara and Keira smile and shake their heads. Keira says, “You told me you would buy me a tiny pony.”

“We can buy both.” Keira laughs and shrugs a shoulder as she leans back against Sara. “That’s between you and Sara.”

“You know, you guys never had your honeymoon because of our schedule last year. You really should try to take a trip together soon.” I smile and look at my wives. “Yeah, we should. Maybe we can plan something after we come back from Tokyo in November.”
