Kade high fives his mate, typical male behaviour.

“Next up we have the maid of honour Jemma to say a few words.”

  Jemma

“Young, wild, and free perfectly describes my best friend Roxy around five years ago. Today she is a mature woman who I admire and respect. You are my role model Roxy, my best friend, and such an inspiration,” she confesses sweetly to me.

“Roxy and Kade have such a wonderful connection; I see the way they look at each other, and its true love. I don’t need to wish them good luck in their marriage as I have no doubt they will be together forever, so instead I wish them love, happiness, and hot steamy sex! Sorry Denise, block your ears!” Jemma announces and our guests cheer as I blush a shade of pink, but still giggle at her admission. Did I expect anything else?

“To Roxy and Kade,” Jemma cheers as she holds her champagne glass up for a toast, and then has a sip. She runs over and embraces me and we both have a cry and laugh.

“The next speech is from the groom himself, Kade,” the emcee announces.

  Kade’s Speech

“Thank you to Pete and Jemma, for your kind words and everything you have done for Roxy and I this past week and since we have known you guys. A big thank you to everyone here today, I crazily decided that we would get married in a week, but hey we pulled it off. Thank you all for coming at short notice.”

“To my gorgeous, stunning, beautiful wife, Roxy. I’d just like to say, that I am the God damn luckiest man in the entire universe, not only because you are my wife, but because I get to spend forever with you,” I state to Roxy honestly as she smiles through the tears falling down her cheeks.

“We stumbled along the way but now here we are well grounded, feet planted firmly and soon we will have a castle where we can live together, and start a family as soon as possible,” I announce and she cries. I actually said it, I want kids now.

“So here is a toast to my beautiful bride; to making happy memories, having fun along the way, and spending eternity in each other’s arms.”

Roxy is a blubbering mess when I pull her in tightly for the most meaningful embrace I have ever had in my existence. This right here, right now is pure blissful heaven. Life doesn’t get any better than this.

“I love you, Mr. Thomas, now and forever,” she whispers into my ear, with no emotion spared. My heart now belongs to Roxy, but more than that she has also captured my soul. It’s deep, intense, and true.

The waiters start to bring out the delicious smelling main meals. There is roast rump of beef with horseradish and thyme roasted potatoes and a creamy morel sauce or wild garlic crusted breast of chicken, spring onions, steamed broccoli and carrots.

“This food is heaven. The rump is melting in my mouth, Rox,” Kade announces to me. Of course, it’s a comment about food.

“The chicken is delicious, too,” I reply as I enjoy the flavours of garlic and onion.

As the waiters start to clear away the plates from the tables, the emcee makes another announcement. “It is now time for Kade and Roxy to light the candle and cut the cake.”

We stand as Kade reaches his hand out for mine, to cut the cake that I designed myself.

I thought I would give it a go; being great with pen and paper, I sketched my outline and contacted a local cake shop to make it for me.

It is white in colour, three tiers with waves iced around the edging in aqua. The icing is a white chocolate ganache, and the cake flavours are chocolate mud cake, caramel mud cake, and fruit cake for tradition. The top layer is decorated with seashells, starfish and a cute little surfer, and of course, a bride in a white dress.

“A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay, starts to play as we hold the knife together and cut into our wedding cake. My wish is to live happily ever after. We then light the candle as a symbol of our love.

The song “Amazing” by Bruno Mars cuts in and starts to play, as I lovingly pull Kade onto the dance floor for our first dance as husband and wife.

“‘Cus girl you’re amazing, just the way you are,” he serenades to me sounding nothing like Bruno Mars.

We mould nicely into each other’s arms, as we sway to the beautiful lyrics, a memorable moment, there have been so many today...

Now that the formalities of the night are over, I am going to have plenty to drink. After all the preparation leading up to today, it’s time to enjoy ourselves and unwind.

As if the Gods above were listening the DJ stars playing some more upbeat and pop music, perfect for the dance floor. First up is “Shake it off” by Taylor Swift.

Jemma reads my mind and grabs my hand leading me out to the dance floor that now has strobe lights flashing. Dancing in my tight fitted silk wedding dress definitely has its challenges. The movement is restricted and if I bent down I am sure it would rip. I am also avoiding anyone with red wine, not the best stain that I want on my dress.

I signal to Emma and Ebony to come and dance, as my mum offers to watch Crystal. We have a nice little circle of girls dancing; Kade’s mum comes over and dances next to Ebony. I am ecstatic that she came today.

“I Wanna Dance with Somebody” by Whitney Houston is the next song played. I am loving the mixture of eras playing tonight. I feel hands on my hips then soft kisses on my neck, as I continue to sway to the music, knowing just who the mystery person is.

“Hey wifey,” he whispers playfully into my ear. I smile widely,

“Hey hubby,” I whisper back to him as I hold onto his hands that have now wrapped around my waist.

“Believe” by Cher starts to play, and I turn around to face Kade. We dance and let loose for the next thirty minutes, then head to the bar for another round of drinks.

We have cake placed at our table, so that is a priority as I stop to taste the amazing cake.

“Mmm, oh man that is delicious cake Jem,” I announce to her while moaning in between mouthfuls. Note to self, diet starts Monday.

Then I hear “Oh Mickey, You’re so Fine, You’re so Fine You Blow my Mind” come on. “Roxy, we gotta dance to Mickey,” Jemma declares as we hurriedly finish our cake and wash it down with champagne.

Obviously the DJ is feeling the 80’s vibe right this minute as the next two songs are “Funky Town” and “Red Wine.” The last song for us to dance to is a brand new one by Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk” so we dance until the end and I hug the girls, as the lights start to come on.

“Would everyone form a circle around the gazebo, for the final goodbyes of the evening,” the emcee announces.

The song I thought would be absolutely perfect for this starts to play. “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen pretty much sums it all up nicely.

We hug and say our goodbyes to Mum and Phil, Mum is emotional. “Oh Roxy, I love you so much, sweetie,” she announces hugging me tightly. Phil shakes Kade’s hand and kisses my cheek.

Next in line is Jeremy and Seline. “Hey Jez, thanks for coming Bro, enjoy that Aussie tour when it starts next week,” I state to him and hug Seline. “You look so beautiful Roxy, we are so glad to see you happy and content,” she tells me.

Then it’s Dad, and to think I was telling people I didn’t have a father a few years ago. “Bye Roxy, you were sensational today, sweetheart,” my loving father tells me smiling widely. I cuddle him and I am so grateful that he is back in my life.

“What did I ever do without you, Dad?” I confess to him, so ecstatic to have him back as my father.

“I love you, Roxy, and I’m proud of you,” he adds now making me cry.

“Kade, congrats to you both. Thank you for taking good care of my little girl,” he tells Kade as they shake hands, then Dad gives him a manly hug.

Then we say goodbye to Kade’s coach and wife, a few of his squad friends, my work friends, a couple of family friends of Mum’s.

I get to Jemma and the waterworks have already started. “Oh Roxy, you are the bestest best friend in the world, hoe bag,” she declares to me as we laugh hyste
rically and embrace. Nothing like a lot of drinks and a celebration to bring out the party girls.

“Thanks for everything, Jem,” Kade tells her ushering me along.

“You hurt her and I will break your leg, surfer boy,” Jemma seriously states to him and then the laughter starts again.

“Congrats guys,” Dan tells us while trying to hold up a wobbling Jemma.

“Oh Dan, the man, you look after my bestie now, you hear,” I order him with a finger in his chest.

“You guys are next. Wedding of the century for Jemma,” I announce and my words are true, that is what I am sure she will be aiming for without a doubt.

Tia and Louise come running over from the grassy hill. God knows what they were doing. “Bye Roxy, you were the perfect bride,” they chant in unison as we embrace.

Ebony and Dave are next. If I could choose a sister for myself, it would be Ebony. She is sweet, caring, and super friendly. “Oh Eb, so good dancing with you tonight,” I declare to her and I mean it. Life gets in the way of fun, just dancing and partying with family and friends should happen more often.

“Yep, I had the best night ever. Beautiful wedding, just perfect,” she tells us and kisses my cheek and hugs me tightly. “Just a pity I couldn’t drink with you,” she announces to me cheekily.

“You didn’t drink? No wait, couldn’t drink? Oh, Ebony, are you pregnant?” I question her quietly before I know for sure.

“Yes, Roxy, we are having a baby,” she replies smiling as Dave wraps his arm protectively around her.

“Kade you are going to be an Uncle again,” I joke to him as he looks at his sister in shock.

“Oh wow guys, that is fantastic, about time. Do Mum and Dad know?” he questions being the overbearing brother that he can be sometimes.

“Yep, we told them today,” she replies.

As if he was eavesdropping Kade’s father Robert comes in and hugs me. “Thank you, Roxy, you have made my boy so happy,” he admits freely to me looking sincerely overjoyed for us.

“Ebony just told us their exciting news,” I say to Robert as he nods confirming it all.

“I know, can you believe I am going to be a Granddad?”

“Yep, getting old their pops,” Kade jokes.

“Now I am stealing my beautiful wife so that we can get out of here,” Kade tells them as we finish our goodbyes.

“See ya, Kado. Congrats to you and Roxy, that was an awesome wedding,” Pete exclaims to us, as I gaze at precious Crystal sleeping soundly in the pram.

“Beautiful wedding Roxy, you should be proud of yourself. One week how did you do it?” Emma jokes to me.

“Yeah, it was crazy, I think we ended up lucky with the celebrant,” I agree with her as I don’t know how it all worked out in the end, honestly.

Last but not least Kade’s mother Vicky is in the circle. I know that he saw that she was here but has avoided her all night.

“Oh Roxy, you are a vision of beauty,” she exclaims to me hugging me tight.

“Thank you, Vicky and I’m so glad you came,” I reply to her as Kade grips my hand so tight I think he may have broken a bone.

“Kade, you look so handsome. I am very happy for you and Roxy,” she states to him a little hesitantly. I feel him breathe in and out a few times.

  “Thanks,” he replies to her.

First word they have spoken in twelve months, at least it is something.

“Enjoy your honeymoon,” she calls out as Kade practically drags me down to the limousine that is waiting to take us to the motel.

“Bye everyone!” I call out waving as Kade scoops me up and lifts me into the car, making me laugh hysterically.

Perfect end to the perfect day.

  Wedding Night Bliss

We have the penthouse at the Novotel booked for tonight; our first magical night as husband and wife, then tomorrow we will open presents and leave Monday for The Maldives.

I remove my shoes and collapse exhausted on the beautiful king-size bed in the motel room, Kade lies down beside me and holds my hand lovingly.

“So, did you have a nice wedding day, Mrs. Thomas?” he queries me as I look over at him I giggle.

“I like being called Mrs. Thomas, and yes, I had the best day of my life, Kade,” I answer him in awe of my new husband. “Thank you for making me feel like the only woman in the world, and for loving me as much as you do. I feel empowered knowing you want me to be yours forever,” I confess openly to the one who is mine forever.

“Thank you for marrying me today. I am officially the happiest person on the planet. Now, let’s get you out of that dress so I can make love to my new wife,” Kade says to me sweetly.

  Chapter 19

  Our Honeymoon

  Roxy

I honestly thought our trip to Hawaii last year was romantic, but these bungalows here in the Maldives are sensational.

They, without a doubt, have the most amazing décor I have ever experienced. They are luxurious and modern, with breathtaking views of the ocean. The colour of the water is crystal clear, and you can see the fish and coral beneath the water. The oversized bathrooms have double vanities, and my favourite part is the amazing furniture. All pieces are Coco Republic in a walnut finish.

Kade, of course, loves the king-size bed; it is a high flat cut bed, three-drawer bedside table in brunette with metal knobs. The sofa is a Morgan with hardwood frame and wraps around cushions.

I am taking notes for when we move into our new house. I would love some of these pieces, and I desperately want this magnificent rug. It’s caramel in colour and a Moroccan design by Urban Road.

We have our own private terrace and sun lounges, on the deck, where I feel so relaxed I can sunbake topless. Well, I tried to until Kade swooped on me unexpectedly.

As we walk along the white sandy beach, the palm trees are blowing in the sea breeze, the waves crashing on the sand, constant slamming, the next harder than the last. Numerous shells and seaweed have been washed up on shore by the hard waves.

Kade and I sit staring out into the ocean. “Hey Rox, there is something I need to tell you. Trust me, it’s nothing bad, but it’s just something you need to know,” Kade tells me and smiles, so I know it’s nothing like the Stacey bombshell.

He then proceeds to tell me about fucking Dylan and how he turned up the morning of our wedding, knocking Kade out with a piece of timber is just insane. Jesus Christ, that guy just doesn’t stop.

“Thank God for Pete and the police. Wow and to think you could have had a concussion and missed our wedding, baby,” I exclaim to him concerned I rub my hand over his head, and I can feel the large bump.

“I didn’t want to tell you on our wedding night and spoil it, so I thought now was a good time. He is locked away and will be for much longer now. They will have him in a high-security prison now, so he will probably get beaten on and live the prison life he deserves,” Kade adds making me feel better about the shit that happened.

I snuggle lovingly into Kade, so happy that he is safe. Fate really did intervene to get him to that altar. “Crazy stalkers don’t stand a chance against us, baby,” I tell him and we both laugh loudly.

We have dinner booked in the restaurant and tomorrow Kade will be checking out the surf while I get a massage. I think I need to get a massage more regularly; it’s such a nice feeling. After dinner we are relaxing outside on the sun lounges, it’s amazing how we can both squeeze on one of them, as neither one of us want to be apart. Honeymoon period and all...

“I have something for you, Kade,” I announce to him as I climb up and head to our bedroom. Walking back outside I tell him, “Well you remember how you made me that cd? Well, I made one for you, baby.” I smirk and his face lights up as he smiles that big radiant grin of his.

“Oh, that is so cool, Rox. Let’s play it now. I can’t wait to see which songs you have put on there,” Kade states looking excited.

I hand him the cover with the titles written on it, as I load it into the CD
player.

“That was a good one,” I tell him still giggling at his sentence.

“Well, it must your lucky day for gifts Mr. Thomas, as I do have another surprise for you. Do you want it now or later?” I question him as he looks like a kid in a candy store.

“Oh, is that so, Mrs. Thomas? Of course, I want it now,” he replies sounding excited. Well, what guy wouldn’t be when they know it’s a sex surprise. “Close your eyes, baby,” I whisper to him and watch him hesitant at first, then he nods and closes his chocolate eyes.

I disappear into the bedroom and return with a few new items that I have purchased. “Keep your eyes closed,” I remind him as I slip the new black and silver blindfold over his eyes.

“A blindfold, Rox?” he questions me eagerly.

“Yes, this is part one of the surprise,” I say to him teasing.

  He smiles largely.

If he thinks this is good, just wait for what else I have in store...

I grab one hand and I draw patterns on his palm tickling and giving him goose bumps, one hand then the other. Then I lift his muscly arms above his head, and using the rope I bought at the hardware shop, I tie his hands tightly together.
