“Asking again.” I folded my arms over my chest. “What. Seems. To. Be. The. Problem.”
“Nothing, JD.” Tess exhaled. “I can handle my own affairs.”
She didn't want me in her business. Maybe she had a family emergency or she was needed at the office. I didn't really care; I just didn't want her to leave.
“Won't ask again, Tess.”
“A snow storm is coming and I want to leave now so I can catch a flight before they get canceled. We,” she gestured towards her and the concierge, “are discussing my plans.”
Shit.
I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the side away from the guys prying ears.
“You can't leave,” I told her. “You'll miss the awards show.”
“Well if LIT wins, they can ship it.”
“It's a spectacular event. There are fireworks and everything.”
“I've seen fireworks before.”
Shit, she was not budging.
“Not with me.” I pulled her closer to me.
“Listen, JD. We had the one night. Okay. I am not in any mood to be stuck in Arizona for a few days, nor do I have that luxury. So, now I need to get back to my life. Thanks for a great evening.”
She tried to pull away, but there was no way that shit was happening. However, this time, I pulled her chin up to face me and asked, “You really enjoyed yourself last night? Is that why you high-tailed it out of there? Is that why you are leaving mid-conference? If you really enjoyed yourself, stay the rest of the conference. Have more nights, days or mornings like that. I want that. Do you?”
Her brown eyes widened with surprise.
“Stay,” I kept talking so she wouldn't think about it. “Hell, you can stay with me.”
Her head snapped back and began to shake sideways.
Okay, too far.
Then her eyes narrowed and she asked, “Why?”
Hell, the tables had turned.
“Because I really enjoyed myself and as much of a business man that I can be, I’m also a cowboy at heart. Something has got a hold of me, so I'm going with that lasso.”
She nodded her head and looked at the concierge. When she turned back around, she asked, “For clarification purposes. You want to have more nights like last night for the next day, since the conference is officially over tomorrow evening.”
“More nights, days and mornings,” I confirmed.
She nodded her head, “Right. So, when I'm stuck here because my flight is canceled, you're going to…” Her hand raised as if she wanted me to finish her statement for her.
She didn't know me very well.
Grabbing her hand, I walked to the concierge and said, “Please extend my stay for another three days as well as hers. I'm in the Hunters Suite, room 4S.”
I turned to Tess and she nodded and gave her room number. The concierge checked and was able to extend our rooms.
“Now what?” She asked me.
I tipped my imaginary Stetson and said, “Just follow me, ma’am.”
Chapter 6
Tess
“Michael, there were a few flights out that left earlier today, but there is nothing that is leaving to New York since JFK is shut down,” I explained.
“Well, have you looked at Amtrak? LaGuardia or Philly?” He asked.
“No, I haven’t, as I’d not like to not go around the world to get home. I know I’ll miss the presentation but everything is in order for you to deliver it if necessary.”
“I know, but this is something that you’ve done and you should receive the credit for it.”
“I am a representation of you.” I laughed. “Plus, it is your company, so a win for me is a win for us.”
“Why can’t I clone you?” He laughed.
I felt a hand on my thigh, which I assumed meant our conversation needed to be over. JD and I went back to my room after he finished, so I could put everything away and let Michael know my new itinerary with the change of plans.
After convincing me to stay another day, well three days, he let me know what his plan included.
“There is only one more day of the conference and tomorrow night is the awards show. We’ll go to the conferences in the morning and afternoon, then get ready for the ball in the evening. What color are you wearing?”
“I have a light gold dress that I’m wearing.”
He looked at me, then smiled. “I look forward to accompanying you to the show madam.” He was definitely putting on the country charm.
“Who says I don’t have a date?” I asked.
“Pardon?” his entire body turned towards me. “Run that past me again.”
“Who is to say, that I don’t have a date for the show?”
“I say.” There was no humor, no accent, and the man was not taking that back.
A guy did ask me to go with him and I brushed it off, but I damn sure was not about to play with JD about semantics. Apparently, he did not play when it came to things he had claimed, even if it was on a temporary basis.
“You say,” I nodded my head in agreement. “What time should I be ready?”
His eyebrows descended from the top of his head and his shoulders returned from around his ears. Relief flooded his face as he began to run his hand up and down my thigh.
“You trying to make me jealous?” He asked.
“Absolutely not. That’s childish. Someone asked me earlier and I never accepted or declined.”
“But you were about to not show and get on a plane if I hadn’t stopped you.”
“Good point.” I nodded my head.
“Plus, I didn’t get to do what I wanted this morning and since this afternoon, we’re in sessions, then we are going out on the town like I wanted to do days ago.”
“You’re just monopolizing all of my time,” I accused.
“Yes, ma’am.” He nodded. “That is the plan. Wear your ass out and have you keep coming back for more. Pun intended.”
He executed his agenda perfectly because, after our sessions, we went to an outdoor museum, which involved hiking. This was not a favorite of mine, but I had pants and some sneakers, so I indulged the man. JD was very nature oriented and I was more central air controlled, marble floors, and stainless steel.
We sure made quite a pair.
When we returned from hiking, we took separate showers because I was grimy and not comfortable with seeing my dirt or his run down the shower drain. That just wasn’t sexy. JD thought I was being ridiculous, but laughed at me instead of becoming annoyed. Some guys in the past did not like or appreciate some of my ways. Hence, why my drought was so long. I was very conscious about all of these things, so I tried to work really hard to keep them at bay.
As promised, he took me out on the town in a Lyft vehicle and after roaming a bit, my stomach started to rumble loudly, so he picked a dining restaurant and ate.
He told me about his family, how he came about his company and why he decided to get out of the farming business. His brothers seem to be solid guys and quite funny with some of the antics he told me they pulled with the cows, horses, goats, and chickens when they were little. They were probably up to some mischief when they were older as well.
We exchanged stories about our childhood, business aspirations and the rationale of why we started in our industries. I told him that I wanted to start a non-profit for young girls interested in the business field, especially in urban communities. He nodded like he understood; he even had some suggestions on what areas to focus on for the venture.
When we returned from dinner, JD walked me to my room.
“So, is it make-up time yet?” He asked with a knowing smirk.
“Depends on what you are trying to make-up.”
“Oh, no. Sweetheart. You are the one that needs to make up to me since you left this morning.” He raised an eyebrow.
“Ohhh, right.” I rubbed my chin and thought about what I could do. “Well, someone didn’t let me finish last night, so how about I allow you to finish tonig
ht.”
I let my tongue slowly and seductively lick both of my lips. His eyes darkened like they did the night before, turning those hazel eyes to a dangerous mocha coloring.
“Sweetheart, I’ll finish wherever you want me to.”
I pushed him further inside of the room and slowly unbuttoned his shirt, buckle, and pants. In an attempt to be coy, I kept my clothes on and dropped to my knees and parted his legs so I could fit between them. As I pulled his pants down and took off his shoes, he groaned loudly.
“I could seriously get fucking used to this.” His knuckles were white as he gripped the edge of the bed.
“Hmm,” I moaned as I unbuttoned the top three buttons of my blouse.
He was at attention in the best way and I was almost positive he was bigger and longer now than he was last night. That was ridiculous, so I’d blame it on the wine. Therefore, I started slowly. Little licks, small strokes with my hand, until I felt him in the back of my throat. This spurred him on because right after that he had my hair and was lying on his side, pushing in and out of my mouth.
I was nowhere close to taking him fully because of his length, but after relaxing my throat more, he was able to go in deeper.
“Woman,” he growled as he touched the back of my throat again, causing me to cough. “So fucking beautiful.”
Taking that opportunity, as I wanted him to finish, my hands grabbed his balls and lightly massaged them.
“Holy fuck,” JD growled, then started delivering shallow thrusts.
His hand in my hair, directed wherever he needed to be, which was sideways and lying on the bed. One of my hands was on the floor while the other continued to caress his soft sac. The grip tightened on my hair and his groans grew deeper.
“Tess,” JD growled. “I'm there, mama.”
I hummed my acknowledgment of his words and squeezed harder on his sac. His teeth flashed as he pushed in and out faster and groaned louder.
The release felt hot and on the back of my throat. I sucked him dry and licked up whatever I couldn't swallow.
“Good goddamn,” JD mumbled as he fell back on the bed letting go of my hair.
While he recuperated, I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth.
“Tess, get your ass back in here,” JD called.
When I finished, I poked my head outside the bathroom with a raised eyebrow. He was now standing there stroking his cock. It wasn't at full attention but at half mask.
“Impressive,” I nodded. “Very impressive.”
The man recuperated quickly and that was something I was never used to. One guy was done for the night and he was in his thirties. JD had to be in his late thirties, if not early forties, but a man with stamina had lasting potential. Well, if he was lasting past the next couple of nights.
I stepped completely out of the room and finished unbuttoning my blouse and unzipping my skirt. As they both dropped to the floor, JD made his way over to me.
“Didn't I say to bring your ass here?” He growled and moved me so I was against the hallway wall that led to the bathroom.
“I heard something like that.” I coyly smiled at him.
JD invaded my space, causing my breath to hitch as he bent down and did nothing more than kissed me. This wasn't an ordinary kiss or one that I was accustomed to but before he was done, my arms were wrapped around his body and my hands were pulling on his hair. The man actually kissed me breathless; as my heart was beating, my legs were wobbly and he had me thinking I was having a sports-induced asthma attack.
It didn't help matters that he swiftly picked me up, then guided himself within me and fucked me against the wall. I held on for dear life as I know the people next to us heard the noises, the body slaps and even his and I release as we both came hard and wild.
Holy shit.
This had the potential of being addictive.

The next day flew by because he had to prepare with his team for a presentation, which had him away most of the morning. I attended my sessions but also counted down the time when I would see him again.
It wasn't fast enough.
After the final conference whole group farewell, until the awards ceremony, I was talking with a woman I had met in one of the sessions about the awards ceremony. She said she was from Philadelphia and her flight had been canceled. We talked a little bit about the fact that I was from Philly and how my mom still lived there.
“I think I need to go to the airport because they kept me on hold for 45 minutes only to tell me their systems were down.”
She was a good looking woman, but the worry lines on her face said everything.
“I'm sorry. Have you looked into Amtrak or the bus?”
She looked up as hope filled her eyes. “No, actually. I didn't even think about it.”
“You should check them out because you'll go right into 30th Street station if you go via Amtrak and because your flight was canceled. You won't be charged.”
“Oh my God. Thank you so much.” She was shaking her head and pulling her purse onto her shoulder. “Wow, seriously thanks.”
“No problem.” I shrugged my shoulders. “I just…”
“Tess,” a deep voice called. “Tess.”
Oh my God. Was it an Iowa thing to call the person you wanted to talk to across the room at elevated levels or just a JD thing?
I slowly turned around with a plastered smile on my face. I was a little annoyed but secretly giddy that he was just blatantly acknowledging me in front of whoever. JD approached and with no warning picked me up and kissed me on the lips. Then he bent down to whisper, “I'm having a good day. You?”
I nodded because he rendered me speechless.
“Good! I can't wait to see you later today. In and out of that gown.”
He kissed me again and walked off.
“Girl, no wonder you are staying later.” I heard behind me.
Turning back around, I saw the woman who I was talking to earlier standing there with bright eyes and a huge grin.
“No, it's not that.” I laughed.
“Shoot, I would stay later for him.” She chuckled. “Is it just a conference thing or are you guys an item?”
Who asked questions like that? I didn't know what it said about me if I lied either way. It really wasn't her business but if I said yes to the first question, what did that make me? The same as those women who put their room keys in guy’s hands? If I said yes to the latter, did that make me some desperate woman looking for a relationship and wanting to come off as having one, because I wanted approval.
So I didn't answer the question at all, just smiled and said, “I'll never tell.”
She burst out laughing, then said, “Touché.”
The evening couldn't come fast enough. I was actually counting down the moments that I would see him. This was bad. I'd never done this with any guy.
A knock rang on the door and I almost tripped to get there. I was in my slip and not my dress because I wanted a little something before we left. He must have had the same thing in mind because he had his clothes in hand.
“You read my mind, sweetheart.”
I smiled and almost tackled him. He half picked me up, dropped his clothes on the chair and laid me on the bed.
“Been thinking about you all day,” he said as he crawled on the bed. “Well, obsessing about you. Counting the minutes. Fucking up as I thought about you on your knees, me taking you against the wall and waking up to you early this morning.”
I felt the same way but I was not about to admit that to him. It wasn't clear why but there was a major blockage and I remained speechless as he shared that he felt the same way I did.
My body was bare under the slip and apparently he was going commando under those house pants because he pulled right out and slid right in.
“Oh my, God,” I breathed.
“Oh yeah, call on Him.” He pulled out and pushed back in again. “Only He knows how much I've wanted you today.”
“Shhh,” I hushed him. “Keep going.”
“Like this?” He tilted his hips so the angle was different, sending tingles up my spine.
I moaned.
“Or like this?” He threw my legs over his shoulders and started fucking me like he had not just did it yesterday.
“JD,” I exhaled as every nerve ending stood at attention.
He pressed one finger on my hot button and I instantly climaxed with his name on my lips. He wasn't far behind me, but he rode his out until he did have to lie down for five minutes.
“Woman, you trying to wear me out.”
“I thought that's what you were trying to do.” We laughed.
After our sexual escapades, we freshened up and dressed. Just as he was about to open the door, he turned to say again, “Wow, you look amazing!”
“Thanks. You clean up pretty well yourself.”
We walked in, took our seats next to some buddies of his and made small talk. Some of the guys had ladies with them and some were solo.
“You know JD long?” One woman leaned over to ask me.
I shook my head and smiled.
“Ah, he's a hard one to catch if you know what I mean.” She volunteered.
“I've caught all that I plan to catch if you know what I mean,” I replied with a smirk.
She cackled and swatted my forearm, “I do. I do.”
“What are you two laughing at?” JD leaned over at us. “Betty, you ain't stirring shit, are ya?”
“No, no. JD. Why does everyone think I stir the shit? I just tell the truth.”
“Yeah, when nobody asked you.” Another man chimed in.
“Whatever, I was just sharing with your friend here that you were a wild one to catch.” She held out her hand with her palm up and said, “See, I'm not stirring shit.”
“Hell, Betty! Why don't you ever mind your goddamn business for once in your goddamn life?” A man across the table snapped at her.
“What?” She gasped. “All she said was, she was getting what she wanted.”
The body next to me stiffened and it was confirmed. Betty was a shit starter and I just got setup.
“Stay out that man’s business. You had your chance, now let it go.”
