“He’s going to come after me,” she sobbed, looking back at the darkened road. I saw approaching lights in the distance.
“We won’t let him, my Kat,” I said, holding her behind me.
“It’s him,” Katrina cried. Joe cocked the gun and shot at the car that was approaching. The car pulled a U-turn and the lights started to disappear in the distance. He was on the run. Shit.
“Let’s get him,” Joe roared. Running toward the vanishing car.
“We need to get her to a doctor, Joe,” I reminded him, touching the light bruise on her face.
“You’re right. We need to get her out of danger.”
“I’m okay. He didn’t get a chance to hurt me.” I stared at her in disbelief, pointedly looking at her cheek. “This is nothing. He hits like a bitch, but is Mandy okay?”
“Fuck if we know. You were our priority. She set you up to be attacked,” I snapped.
“She didn’t. She had no idea he came for me. Mandy wanted to confront me about you, Liam,” Kat admitted.
“Why would she do that?” I asked.
“She said that she wanted you and that I was getting in the way of that and I needed to leave you alone.”
“The fuck if I’m going to let that happen. I want to shoot her myself. There’s never been anything between us. Damn it, Joe am I going to need a restraining order on her?”
“I’m going to choke her, myself. What the fuck is wrong with her?” Joe asked, almost as livid as I was. Joe opened the back door of the crew cab and helped her inside.
“I don’t know, but she’s the reason he was there and the reason he had a chance to grab you,” I said. Either way, I never wanted to see Mandy again.
“I have to get back to Nora. She must be freaking out.” Damn, there was supposed to be a wedding tomorrow, and I had no idea if it was going to happen with that fuck on the loose.
“Dad. Please don’t cancel the wedding tomorrow,” she begged.
“Honey, I don’t know if it’s possible to have it with him on the loose.” Great minds think alike. “Plus, if Mandy dies, I don’t know if Nora is going to want to still get married.”
“Dad, it’s not like he’s going to strike now, and she loves you so she’s going to want to get married. Well, maybe not tomorrow. Have the police been called?”
“Yes, Nora had her phone on her,” Joe replied, keeping his eye out for Killian’s car.
“How about you talk to Nora about it before cancelling the wedding?”
“Maybe you two could just go to city hall instead or pick a different location. This isn’t going to quietly go away. I’m sure it’s going to be all over the news, so moving the wedding location might work. He’s going to be on the run.”
On the way back we called the cops to let them know we had Katrina safe and that Killian was still on the run.
“Hi. This is Joseph Bevans. We’ve got my daughter Katrina Bevans back, but the bastard got away.” He paused and looked toward Kat. “What kind of car was he driving?”
“It was a four-door, old, gold colored Camry,” Kat said from the back seat. I wanted her to sit up here with me so I could hold her hand and protect her better, but it was better that he didn’t have a clear shot at her with her ducked down.
Joe relayed the information to the dispatchers. “Yes, we’re on our way back to the hall.”
He hung up with them then said, “They want to talk to us once we get back to the hall, and then we can go home. They will be out on the hunt for him.”
Chapter 11
Liam
We ended up at the hospital because Nora had gone with her sister in the ambulance. We drove together for safety’s sake. It was late when we finally got to go home. Instead of going to Joe and Nora’s, we were going to my place. It was much larger, empty, and fully secured. I had that shit completely safe. I added more security when they introduced me to Mandy. Something about that broad set me off that she wasn’t right in the head.
Nora and Joe held each other in the back, and I held Kat’s hand in the front seat. By the time we made it to the house, both women were asleep, so we carried them inside. Joe had his own spare bedroom here, so he took Nora up there, and I carried my Kitty Kat up to my bed, where she’d be staying for the rest of our lives. Once they were both down and tucked in, Joe and I grabbed a beer and had a conversation in the backyard.
“I wanted to tell you I’m sorry about not telling you about my feelings for Katrina. I know you just got her back in your life,” I apologized.
“No need to apologize. I’ve known since the first day. It was clear as fucking day. I understand why you waited, but I haven’t been a good father for a long time. If I had to pick a man for her, I’d pick you, hands down.”
“Even over Aiden?” I asked. I didn’t know if it was jealousy or what, but it looked like Aiden wanted her.
“Aiden isn’t settled and still in that chasing girls mode. You’ve been done with that long before I met you, and I’ve never seen you give a girl the time of day until my sweet and beautiful Joey came back.”
“Thanks, Joe. You know I’d take care of her. I promise. I just figured that you’d think I’d take her away.”
“Away to where? You live here, and we’ve been friends since you hired me.”
“I guess. I don’t know. A part of me didn’t want to fuck up our friendship, especially after your ex and best friend.” I hated bringing it up, but it was in the back of my mind since I saw her.
“Man, I was over that the moment I lost Kat. Now, if you were close to Nora, then I’d have a problem,” he said, half-jokingly.
We laughed it out and finished our beers. It was time to get some sleep. The wedding was postponed, but only one day, which meant there was still tons of shit to do.
“I do have one favor of you. Don’t be loud when you’re…you know. She’s still my little girl,” Joe asked, abashedly.
“Don’t worry. I wasn’t planning on doing anything with her yet anyway. I wouldn’t disrespect you or her like that,” I promised.
“Maybe you could talk her into marrying you tomorrow when they go over the wedding plans,” he teased.
“I know you’re just joking, but that sounds like a plan.”
I left him there and headed upstairs to go hold my woman while she slept. Walking into the room, all I could make out was the soft glow of the moonlight streaming through the windows. Locking the bedroom door, I took off my clothes except for my boxers and climbed in behind her.
“Liam,” she whispered in her sleep.
“Goodnight, my love,” I uttered softly before placing a kiss on her hair and falling asleep beside her.
Chapter 12
Katrina
I felt him crawl into bed behind me even though I was barely alive. My body was totally asleep, but when he came into the room all the energy changed. I never thought it was possible, but that was what I felt. His strong arms were wrapped around me while his hard cock pressed into my ass all night.
I didn’t want to wake up, but my cell phone’s alarm went off. We managed to get my things that I had left in my dad’s car. I forgot to turn it off last night.
“Mm,” I sighed, digging into his body before trying to break free to use the bathroom.
“Why would you do that?” he asked in a sleep-filled voice that sounded gravelly and uber-dirty.
“I have to get up, but I didn’t want to.”
“Oh, so you were going to pull a hit and run on me? I can’t have that.” Before I could do anything, I was on my back. Liam had both arms on the sides of my head with his elbows locked and looked down at me. “I can’t have that at all,” he said, grinding his cock along my pussy.
I let out a whimpering moan, begging for something I wasn’t sure of, but all I knew was I wanted him to take away the ache he created.
“Kiss me,” I demanded. We hadn’t kissed before, and I needed it. He bent his elbows and lowered his head down to mine. His lips were hard and soft at th
e same time, if that was even possible. It was so hard to describe because the strength of his kiss combatted with his tenderness. My hands went into his hair, running through it.
“Ah,” I sighed when he nipped at my neck, kissing and licking me to my shoulder and back up again. I slept in one of his shirts. I wondered if he noticed last night or just right now. His white undershirt fit like a tent but didn’t hide my hard, darkened nipples.
“Marry me,” he said. I think he was asking, but I wasn’t really sure. It almost sounded like a command.
“Okay,” I whispered. His lips came crashing down on mine all over again, but there was more to it this time. It was like he sealed my affirmation with a power lip lock. I felt him slip his ring on my finger while he continued to kiss me.
~~~~~
All of us drove to my dad’s to get their clothes for tomorrow. I couldn’t believe I was getting married to Liam. He was my rushed version of Mr. Darcy. I didn’t have to wait through months of uncertainty and misunderstandings, everything came to an understanding within days. I couldn’t believe it. I was madly in love with him, although we hadn’t said it to each other. After getting the gowns to the house, we had a nice quiet lunch followed by some alone time.
“Liam, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about what happened to me.”
“I know why you didn’t, but I wished I’d known,” he said, caressing my face with his calloused hand. I closed my eyes to absorb his touch. Then his lips sneakily took mine. We kissed until I found myself wrapped up in his arms and on his lap in the backyard.
“Excuse me, you two,” Nora interrupted. “The FBI is here to speak with all of us.”
“We’ll be in there in a minute,” Liam said before kissing me one more time. Three hours later and tons of planning on our parts, we managed get everything ready for tomorrow.
Chapter 13
Liam
I couldn't believe she agreed to marry me. Not that I was going to let her off easily, but I thought she'd tell me it was too soon. Since everything had been canceled, the ladies moved the wedding to the next morning and in our backyard. So I had to manage to sleep next to Kat for one more night without taking her. It was something I barely pulled off, but she was worth it.
It was fast, as my parents reminded me. They hadn’t been against it but didn’t quite approve until they met her. Kat and Nora were getting ready with my mother, who fell in love with Kat on the spot. I knew she would, but they thought I was too blinded by emotions to see clearly. Now it was just a matter of getting married and giving them grandbabies to love and spoil. They were freaked out when they watched the news about the kidnapping. We had to explain that the threat was still serious when we had the police escort them to my home.
There had been no news on Killian. I wanted to shoot the SOB myself, but I knew he skipped town. The FBI got involved because he had traveled across several states to come after her. They asked Katrina a whole bunch of questions about her past and the orphanage. There had been a cover up after her attack. Three months ago, Killian took a paid leave of absence. It wouldn’t be long until he got his next pay and used his debit card.
Everything else that Joe and Nora had planned for today had been ruined by him. The only bonus was that I didn’t have to see Nora’s sister. Mandy was released from the hospital while we got ready for the ceremony but was on bedrest. Only Nora cared about her sister, but at this point Nora was almost at her wits end after what happened with Kat. Thinking about finding Killian and squeezing every last bit of air from his lungs was all I could think about.
"Hey Liam. Are you ready?" Joe asked. "You look a little scared."
"Nah, I'm just thinking about Kat and that piece of shit. I wish you would have told me about him."
"She asked me not to tell you. She thought you didn’t like or respect her and was worried.”
“Yeah, she thought I didn’t because I was pissed as fuck watching her staring at the worksite. I didn’t know she was looking for you or I would have called you over before you showed up.”
My dad walked over to us with his cane, and I knew he was having a bad day. I hated that I got him out of their house in a rush this afternoon.
“Dad, you need to be sitting down when you’re in that much pain.”
“I’m fine.” He waved off my concern.
“I’m going to tell mom,” I warned his ass. She’d get on him about it and he’d be in deep shit.
“Go ahead. It’s her fault I’m tender today,” he remarked with a wink and a knowing nod. I rolled my eyes at him.
“Fucking sick, you know. You’re fucking sick. That’s my mom you’re talking about,” I reminded him in disgust.
“Says the guy who wants to knock my little girl up,” Joe added.
“It’s different,” I snarled. “I’m ready to get hitched. Do you know what’s taking them so long?”
“Ha. They’re women on their wedding day. Let’s just sit back, have a beer and wait for them. Maybe there’s a game on.”
~~~~~
Two hours later and a house full of guests, Katrina and I got married alongside Joe and Nora. I was so damn surprised how amazing she could look. I thought she was beautiful before, but now it was like something else. It was as though she glowed. Her gown happened to be the one she bought for the actual wedding. It was a silver dress that had a bell shape from the hips. It only went down to the knees. There was a white band that wrapped around her waist accentuating her sexy curves but making her look like a princess at the same time. I couldn’t believe this woman was going to be my wife. From the first time I saw her, I knew she was all I would need. I had to be what she needed.
“You look perfect. If you asked me yesterday, I would have said you were perfect. Today, I have no words for how sexy you look.”
“Thanks, Liam. You clean up nice, too,” she replied with a blush. She wasn’t used to the compliments, and I knew that from what she and Joe told me. I leaned down and took her lips with mine.
“Let’s get these guests fed and out of the house because I have every intention of getting no sleep tonight, Mrs. Harrison.”
Chapter 14
Liam
We managed to say goodbye to all our guests within a few hours. Now I had her all to myself, and I stood there deciding what to do first. A blush started on her chest and crept up her face. Since we had the wedding at home, I didn’t get to truly carry her over the threshold, so the one in our bedroom would have to do.
Once I got her in there, I placed her down on her feet. I took my time to admire her beauty. The dress begged to be torn to shreds, but I wanted to keep it as a memento. The distance between us was too much. I had to close the gap. With my hands slipping into her hair, I pulled the pins slowly. I watched her hair fall around her face, framing it so perfectly like a waterfall of curls. She was breathtaking. I crushed her lips, consumed with her beauty. Our mouths opened, allowing our tongues to dance a slow and sweet tango. I growled into her mouth, gripping her ass and pressing my cock into her. She gasped, feeling my length against her body. She was so tiny in comparison I thought I’d break her.
“I’m going to worship you like you deserve to be worshipped,” I whispered along the shell of her ear. Kat let a shiver run down her body that only spurred my leisurely assault on her body. With a tenderness only she could create in me, I licked the edge of her jaw then bit and nibbled down her neck. She whimpered, and it was music to my ears. I tilted her chin so I could satisfy my craving to taste her sweet sweat.
Her pulse skyrocketed like the throbbing in my cock. Her hands slid into my hair, tugging on it while her lips moved to my neck. I felt the gentle sucking and nipping at my flesh. I reached for her zipper and pulled it down. The sound of the parting metal echoed in my ears with a shit load of promise.
“My wife,” I chanted, letting her dress fall to the floor. My eyes widened in fucking amazement. She stepped out of the dress, flipping off her heels. I worked my eyes up from her feet all the way to her
large breasts.
Her tits were even bigger and sexier than I’d imagined in my dirty dreams. I cupped them, letting their weight rest in my rough calloused hands.
“Ah,” she sighed. Her hands were busy reaching for my pants, but my touch caused her to fumble with the zipper. Backing up, I lent her a hand and took off my shirt. Her hands forgot about my pants and moved all over my chest, but that was all good for the moment. Pleasure shot straight down my spine as she squeezed my nipple.
“Damn, Kitty Kat. You better calm down or you’re going to get fucked really hard,” I uttered in a barely steady breath. She shook her head and backed up from me until she fell back on the bed. Her tits bounced and I did everything I could to calm the fuck down before I nailed her to the edge of the bed.
“Lay back,” I said, walking up to her while undoing my pants and letting them fall to the floor. My boxers did little to hide my thick and stiff as fuck cock that peeked out of the trim of my Hanes.
Her eyes never left my body, but she leaned back on her elbows. “I can’t look away. You’re perfect, Liam.”
“Thanks, baby. You’re fucking stunning,” I stated. I leaned over her with my hands on the side of her head, no part of me touching her yet. “There will be no one else. There’s no turning back, Kat. Know this. You’re my wife, and I’m never going to let you go. I won’t let anyone come in between us.” I bent down and kissed her parted lips. My kiss was the start of total possession. I was going to own every bit of her.
Kat’s hands worked into my hair, pulling my face closer to hers. I wrapped my arms around her middle and her ass, slamming our bodies together. Going slow was thrown out the window the minute she tugged me closer. Our clothed parts ground into each other and I felt my cock leaking some of my juice onto her belly. Like an animal, I was marking my territory. It was the first of the several markings I’d leave on her by the end of the night.
