  Pregnant to an Alien King

“Can you believe it?” my right hand and High General of the Abalonian army, Rockwell, leaned towards my ear and whispered excitedly. My eyes were on the multitudes of people below the balcony, cheering in the courtyard at my being newly crowned.

“Finally becoming king…? It is rather surreal. More so than I could have anticipated,” I answered honestly. I raised my hand again to wave to the crowd and incline my head graciously in response to their praise.

“Nevermore to look and learn after your father. You are now in charge,” Rockwell said more loudly and he clapped me on the shoulder with a congratulatory grin.

“I can only hope I will serve them well,” I said and Rockwell showed true confidence in his reply.

“There is no reality where you would let your people down. Now…let us celebrate!” Rockwell proclaimed the last bit loudly enough for the people to hear him and they cheered with renewed excitement. Festivals were to be had marking the start of my reign. The entire planet would embark in a full week of celebrations and festivities. I laughed heartily when Rockwell gave me a wide grin, his teal eyes alight with mischief.

“This is one of the rare times where members of the court are allowed some true debauchery!” he said eagerly as he put his arm around my shoulders and led me from the balcony, back into the palace’s throne room.

“Rockwell don’t get ahead of yourself,” I said, but he laughed as if that were an impossibility.

“I am going to ready my system to ingest naught but spirits and ale for the next week to come as well as put on my best and most convenient celebratory clothes,” he said suggestively and almost conspiratorially to which I chuckled.

“This coming from the high general of our military,” I mumbled. He grinned at me innocently before stepping off in the direction of his quarters on the palace grounds.

“I will return shortly, and you should prepare yourself to have no memory of the upcoming week,” he said excitedly. I shook my head at him with a fond smirk as he almost skipped away to his private quarters.

A courtier called my attention and I turned to greet her. “King Jesper, a word?”

“How may I be of interest Lady Elyssa?” I asked respectfully and she gave me a flirtatious smile. In the days prior, nearing my crowning, I’d had much attention from female members of the court. It was customary that a newly crowned king choose his mate, to be queen of Abalon, in the days following the celebration period.

“I just wanted to congratulate you yet again on your crowning my king. I know you will have a long and proud reign,” she said graciously. I inclined my head in thanks.

“I can only hope, only the events of the future will tell,” I said. Her odd pale eyes sparkled.

“With the right queen by your side I am sure the future will be a good one,” she said rather forwardly. By then I had grown used to such comments. The eligible females of the court had become surprisingly forward and competitive.

“True is that, perhaps we could have a lunch sometime after the celebrations,” I said, mostly to be polite than aught else. Her unremarkable features lit up in pleasure and she inclined her head with an almost smug smile.

“That would be lovely,” she said.

“My king!” thankfully Rockwell returned just in time to save me from further conversation with Elyssa. “Are you ready?” he asked me, completely ignoring the lady and clapping me on the shoulders.

“Indeed I am. Lady Elyssa, let us talk more later,” I said. She curtsied, and then I was hauled away to the streets of the capital city by the giant force that was Rockwell.

The city was a wonder, all decorated in white and gold marking the traditional colors of a king’s coronation week. The people were equally dressed in their finest clothes. Some wore intricate masks and costumes as they went about excitedly. The parade would commence soon, marking the true beginning of celebrations. After that the immediate quarter surrounding the palace and the palace itself would be essentially a celebration zone.

As people passed I was honored with traditional salutes, bows, and curtsies. Everyone was welcoming and there was so much carefree joy in the air. It made one proud to simply be an Abalonian taking part in the long celebratory tradition.

“Look there,” said Rockwell. He pointed to the extravagantly-decorated platform from which I was to spectate the parade. It was directly in front of the council building’s marble entrance. My parents were already present, seated on the viewing stage, as were a few members of the high court, or council. The guards stationed around it let Rockwell and myself pass through to take our seats. Once seated we were offered drinks, which of course were readily accepted.

My mother called my attention and she cupped my cheek in her hand when I leaned close to her. “My son, I’m so proud o
f you,” she said.

“Enjoy this now, for soon the duties as king will consume you,” added my father. I chuckled when I saw my mother roll her eyes.

“Do not listen to him. Hopefully you will find yourself a suitable queen to give you a reprieve from the tedium of your duties,” she patted my cheek before straightening once more in her seat. A great fanfare of horns and drums called my attention to the parade that was just beginning and the people lined up on either side of the streets cheered in happy anticipation. The parade was quite the spectacle of dancers, performers, and the like.

Rockwell gave me drink after drink. Soon, everything was a collage of lights, colors and smiles.

After the parade, we returned to the palace for the main celebration of the week that included all court members, primary and extended. We were in the palace’s largest ballroom, which opened into both the garden and courtyard. All areas were full of people drinking, laughing, dancing, and having a good time.

“My king, is this not glorious?” said Rockwell. He was standing in front of me with a female’s shawl wrapped around his neck and a rose tucked into the waistband of his trousers.

“Rockwell, I worry about you,” I commented and he laughed.

“This week we are allowed to put aside certain judgments,” he said. I chuckled before bringing a glass of water to my lips. Rockwell’s angular features lit up cheekily. “You must do something…before this time is over, before you get wrapped up in the duties of ruling the planet,” he said in earnest. I looked at him as if he lost his wits.

“Rockwell, I believe you should slow down, and drink some water…before you end up face down from the spirits!”

“Ha! I have barely begun!” he said.

“Well then what do you suggest I do?’” I asked him and he tapped his chin thoughtfully.

“Ah! I know, it is a bit reaching, but just the thing you should do,” he said. I smiled warily, and waited for him to continue. He leaned towards me and grinned.

“Something I have always wanted to accomplish was to swive a female from another planet,” he said. His grin widened and I looked at him as if her were truly insane.

“It is undeniable, you’ve had too much to drink my friend,” I chuckled, not denying that his idea was somewhat exhilarating. Rockwell groaned.

“Oh don’t be such a prude! Have a drink and fortify thyself, then take a trip to Aster, Rolar, Earth! And fortify yourself with a lovely female,” he urged. I shook my head.

“Absolutely not Rockwell. That is the height of foolishness.”

He groaned again and then gripped my shoulders to give me a slight shake.

“It is not foolishness, it is living!” Rockwell led me to the direction of the spirits bar and I shrugged to myself. This was my last grand celebration before taking up the tedious duties of king, not to mention tedious Abalonian women like Lady Elyssa. Perhaps I should give merit to Rockwell’s words…

  *****

“Rockwell, let us do it,” I proclaimed. I clapped him on the shoulder to get his attention from several females and he turned to me with a curious expression.

“Let us do what my king?” he asked. It had been more than an hour since he’d mentioned his drunken idea to me. I gestured to the stars above us.

“Let us go…and do what you’ve always wanted…” I hinted, for the benefit of the people around us, looking on in interest. Rockwell’s eyes widened in excited anticipation and he all but tore off the shawls he had wrapped about and himself and flowers given to him by various females.

“Yes, yes indeed!” he said and barely excused himself before we hurried to the outskirts of the palace grounds, where the royal spacecraft hangar was located.

“Are you able enough to operate one of the crafts?” I asked him and he waved away my concern as we hurried into the wide space and found the quickest space craft.

“I will set it on an automated course. I am most curious about those from Earth, what with the planet being newly discovered by our Reach,” Rockwell said as we climbed into the twin cabin of the sleek craft.

He entered in coordinates for Earth and I thought it was a good choice. It had been newly discovered by the Reach. There was not much monitoring of the planet Earth yet, nor was there public knowledge of ‘alien’ existence to the humans. Other than world leaders, most of the populous still believed they were the only beings in the universe.

“Where will we look for human females?” I asked Rockwell. My head swam; I was drunk. “Also we must find some water before we approach any of these Earth women.”

Rockwell strapped his seat fastenings, I followed suit, and soon the craft was released from dock and heading off.

“I have put much thought into this,” said Rockwell. “We will first hide the spacecraft using the cloaking device. Then we will have to obtain some currency or simply make off with clothing humans wear. Then we can begin our search, and perhaps we may have to lazy our speech and not seem so formal.” Rockwell had indeed put much thought into that.

A part of me could not believe we were actually setting out to do something so…well reckless. Though after the celebratory period my actions, recreational and otherwise would be under scrutiny of the people and the High Council. Especially early on in my reign. I would not have an opportunity to be reckless then.

“Oh no, do not assume that expression. We are already leaving Abalonian space, soon we’ll be at light speed. There is no turning back now,” Rockwell commented and I laughed softly.

“I am not having second thoughts, only thinking ahead.”

“Thinking ahead to the beautiful human female you will entice?” He grinned salaciously and I laughed.

“Indeed…” The rest of the hour’s ride was had in a sort of anticipatory silence. Then the craft came out of light speed and the great blue planet was revealed. Earth was only a measure smaller than Abalon, but held much more water.

“What coordinates on Earth did you set?” I asked curiously and Rockwell checked.

“A populous city, called New York. According to the limited databases we have on Earth the city is quite diverse. Meaning many beauties abound,” Rockwell grinned and I had to laugh. Any other time Rockwell would be a steadfast general, an unmovable force, but as soon as any sort of celebration was mentioned, he came out of himself.

“Rockwell I believe you may have multiple personalities,” it was not the first I’d told him that, but he laughed nonetheless.

“We’ll worry of that in my old age, for now, let us focus on the task at hand,” he said with surprising seriousness. My concern for his multiple personalities certainly grew then. Its cloak activated, the craft landed in some rectangular green park right in the center of a seemingly bustling city. Rockwell navigated the craft to a relatively less-visited area of the park, within the cover of shrubbery, trees and night. After we exited, I looked back at the craft. It could not be seen.

“Now, do you think it would be an easy process to exchange gold for currency of this region?” Rockwell asked as we walked to the nearest pedestrian path and looked all around. Even at night there were so many people about. Then I spotted her. She was simply walking along the lantern-lit path, her hands in the pockets of a light blue parka and wearing form-fitting denim pants. Her hair was curly and thick and tumbled to her shoulders. Her face was extraordinary, her features so exotic. She had proud cheekbones, well-formed and full, luscious-looking lips. Her eyes were a mysterious hazel green, framed by long lashes and accented by arched brows. Her nose was a gentle slope and her chin and jaw a pleasing feminine angle. The soft brown color of her skin was most pleasing; it was without flaw and appeared as the smoothest silk, wanting for my touch.

“She is perfect,” I breathed and Rockwell stopped several feet away from where I did. He hadn’t realized I was arrested so by the beauty of this human female. She was looking off into the distance and did not seem to see me staring, though the closer she walked towards me, I knew she would eventually take notic
e. I could not simply stand there like some fool. In my royal coronation outfit, I certainly would have looked odd to any Earth person. Nevertheless, I had to speak to her.

“She is beautiful indeed. I will not hold you from this chance, all I ask is to meet back here precisely at dawn,” Rockwell said and I nodded absently as he repeated himself, but eventually he walked off. I strode casually towards the female and then reached out to touch her arm once she was within reach. She stopped short and looked up at me, her eyes popped as if she was shocked by my presence. Then they became curious, yet polite.

“Hello…” she said. Her voice had the sultriest rasp to it. It seemed to slide through me, down to the very depths of my soul and capture it. How could one female be so enchanting? Was it some sort of human magic? Perhaps it was because of the spirits I drank.

“Hello, I am…Jay,” I hesitated to give her my true name, surely she would think Jesper to be odd.

“I’m Clarice…how can I help you Jay?” she asked and tilted her head to the side inquisitively, one brow quirked and the faintest touch of a smile on her lips.

“I’m afraid I am lost,” was all I could muster and her smile grew.

“Well you certainly sound foreign…though are you looking for a convention or something?” she asked and her eyes traveled down to my attire.

“I am—coming from one, yes. Though I travelled with a friend of mine and he left me…for a woman. I have no way to contact him or any place to stay,” I hoped the excuse was good enough that she would lead me to somewhere more private, where I could woo her properly.

“Aw that sucks…I have a phone if you’d like to call him?” she offered and I hadn’t anticipated all possible responses. I skirted her question and tried a different angle.

“He would not answer. I’m afraid he’s the type to be completely consumed in his appetites. I do not know this city and, well, I believe I will be spending my night here in this park,” I said. She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth in contemplation.
