My future self grinned. “I wouldn’t miss this for the world.”

Victor nudged me. “It’s just like old times, luv.”

“I’m just glad this world has Alexander. He’s the champion we raised him to be.”

“He is definitely a force to be reckoned with. This wizard doesn’t stand a chance!”

  “Just like the last one.”

I suddenly returned to the present.

“Sarah,” Jackson said. “You zoned out.”

“Uh, sorry. I had a vision.”

“What would the guests think knowing they had a royal, immortal, psychic queen standing in their presence?”

I smiled. “You’re forgetting about the superpowers.”

His eyes twinkled. “And even more powers granted to her by a goddess.”

  “My life sounds crazy.”

“And you’ve never been happier. So tell me about your vision.”

My entire face lit up as excitement flooded through me. “Well, it was a great one! Alexander was all grown up and he was fighting evil across the land. He’ll turn out to be good, a champion of the people.”

“Just like his mother and father. Well, I never had a doubt.”

“Me neither,” Victor said, coming from behind me.

When a guest called Jackson’s name, he looked at us and smiled.

  “If you’ll excuse me.”

I pulled Victor to a more secluded spot. “It was the most amazing vision ever! It was the very first one to let us know our son won’t be the evil monster Ethano wanted him to be.”

“We changed the future,” he said. “I knew we could.”

  Happiness flooded through me.

I stared into his eyes as tears welled up. “We did it, baby. This vision was like a gift, to let us know that everything is going to be okay.”

  He softly kissed me.

Alexander and Sophia came back over.

“Daddy,” Sophia said. “I brought you some juice.”

  “Thank you, sweety.”

I stared at my beautiful children. “I love you both so much.”

“I love you too, Mom,” Alexander said.

  Sophia hugged me.

I then looked at my brave son. “You have a great future ahead of you. I just saw it in a vision.”

“Will I be slaying dragons like Dad?”

“You’ll be an amazing superhero,” I said.

  “Like Thor?”

  “Even better.”

Victor grinned. “We’re both so proud of you and Sophia.”

When a slow song played, Liz and Charles took the children so Victor and I could dance.

I wrapped my arms around Victor and smiled. “I’ve never been so happy,” I said. “We’ve done so much already.”

“And we have our beautiful family,” he said.

“I have so much to be thankful for, especially you.”

“I could say the same, dear Sarah. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me.”

I slowly kissed his lips as we gently swayed to the music. I knew we’d enjoy many more magical moments like that one, and I planned to love him through all eternity. The two of us were intoxicated with life. We rose above our difficulties and faced insurmountable obstacles…but overcame them. Walking into his world had been quite a rollercoaster ride. Maybe I needed this invaluable strength to discover the most meaningful purposes in life so I could truly make a difference.

I had cried plenty of times, hoping our future would turn out as wonderful as I had envisioned it. In the end, I would have gladly done it all over again, gone through all that eternal conflict, just to have my darling husband and my beautiful family. They were my world, and I wouldn’t change it for anything. I was glad I’d been chosen, because every day of my life had led me to the life of my dreams.

  The End

Note from author: Thank you for joining Sarah and Victor on this incredible journey. Sarah was changed by Victor, and he was also transformed by her. I think in the beginning Sarah was cold and bitter and it showed, but finding her sister and gaining Victor’s love helped her to overcome her guilt and sadness. They both became better people and found happiness through each other.

Did Sarah have control of her destiny? I think she thought so, but really, she didn’t. Destiny isn’t something you have control of. The path her life took was determined largely by forces beyond her control. She was leading a normal life and was thrown into an extraordinary one. Who would’ve thought that her true love would be a broody king from another world, another time, another dimension? What were the chances that they’d ever meet? The second they had their first chance encounter, love was planted, a spark lit, whether they realized it or not. I think Victor was waiting for her, and she was waiting for him. And once they realized this, nothing could stop their love.

When Sarah walked through that portal, she had no idea that fate had a huge plan for her life. She was destined to help save two worlds, Victor’s and hers, find true love, have a family, and be all that she had hoped to become. Some readers said Sarah was unlikeable in book one, but she had a journey to go through so she could grow and evolve. That was the character arc I planned for Sarah. I wanted you to watch her grow and develop into this beautiful person you’d grow to love. Victor changed and went through a big character arc himself. I think both went through amazing character transformations.

I think Victor and Sarah’s love story is truly amazing. I hope you think so too. And the only way I’ll know is if you leave a review. Thank you so much! I’m sad this is the end, but it was a wonderful experience for me. Victor and Sarah were some of my favorite characters to write and I truly believe love can conquer all.
