“I know I been fucking up heavy. The weed was the only way I could get through the day without having yo ass with me. Check me out, your pee clean?” I asked.
“Wait huh?” She asked, looking at me sideways.
“Have you been smoking recently?”
“No.”
“I need to use your pee so I can pass this drug test. A nigga ain’t tryna go back to jail.”
“What the fuck am I suppose to pee in?” She asked.
“Here.” I said, emptying a Tylenol bottle and handing it to her. “Clean it out first.”
“I can’t believe this shit.” She said, slamming the bathroom door closed.
When she was done, I grabbed the bottle of urine and used a headband to tie it around my thigh to keep it warm. Since my jeans always styed baggy I had no problem hiding the slight bulge of the pill bottle underneath my clothes. Once I was dressed, Mia and I went our separate ways with promises to meet up for dinner later on that night. We had to sit down and have a serious talk before we could move on and work on things going back to the way they used to be.

I was sitting in my probation officer’s office waiting for her to give me my paperwork saying I passed my drug test when he walked in with two officers walked in.
“Romeo Baker, you are under arrest.” One of the officers said.
“Under arrest for what?” I asked, looking at him as if he was crazy.
“Falsifying a drug test.” The cop replied.
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
“They ran your sample at the lab and although your pee is clean, it came up positive for pregnancy. Now unless you were born a woman, that’s not possible.” My probation officer said, causing the wind to get knocked out of me.
“You have the right to remain silence….” The cop read me my rights as he roughly placed the cuffs around my wrist and forcefully pushed me in the back of his cruiser.
The whole drive to the jailhouse I kept thinking about Mia being pregnant and if the baby was mine. The more I thought of her possibly being pregnant for that pussy ass nigga, the heavier my heart became. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and believe her when she said she didn’t sleep with anyone, but I knew her body better than she did. I was the first person to break her in; I was in sync with her pussy. I was able to tell if it was touched and I knew for a fact it had been.
Mia
After my midterms, I went to have lunch with Murder before dinner with Romeo. I knew this was a dangerous game I was playing, but my heart couldn’t bring myself to let Murder go. He stepped in when I was broken and helped me rebuild myself. He became a security blanket for me and although I was madly in love with Romeo, I wasn’t ready to give Murder up.
Making up with Romeo had me feeling all happy inside. Romeo was my everything and although he fucked up, that didn’t stop the way I felt about him. I was now in a fucked up situation with two crazy dudes in love with me and me just stringing them both along. I knew this was just the calm before the storm and I planned on enjoying it.
“Damn baby, you look sexy as fuck,” Murder said, as I made my way to the shore dressed in a two-piece white and gold bikini that did little to cover up my curvaceous ass.
“Thank you, bae, you don’t look bad yourself,” I said, admiring all the colorful tattoos that decorated his bare chest.
“You ready to have some fun?” He asked.
“Hell, yeah.” I beamed, following him to the loading dock.
We boarded a big, white yacht, that was breathtaking. This was my first time being on a yacht and I was in complete awe. The thing about being with Murder was that money wasn’t an option. Since I came from the bottom, being able to get treated with nice expensive things had me spoiled. I was living this fast and lavish life Murder offered. That probably played a major role in why I couldn’t get him out of my system.
He led me to the top of the yacht where he had a buffet style lunch set up for us. The scenery was beautiful as four violinist stood in the corner playing songs from Eric Benet’s Lost in Time album. Red and white rose petals formed a heart around where we would be sitting to have our lunch. Murder really out did himself and had me feeling like a queen.
“How do you think you did? He asked once we were seated.
“I think I did well.” I replied.
“Good. You pass that class and I’m taking you to Puerto Rico for a week.” He said.
“Really?” I beamed.
“Yup, anything for you baby.” He said, causing me to blush.
As we enjoyed the beaming sun, we sat and ate lunch while making small talk. I was developing a terrible headache and was feeling real nauseous, but I just shrugged that off as me being seasick. I didn’t want to ruin the moment, so I decided to suck it up and place a fake smile on my face as if I was feeling well.
Murder’s arms were wrapped around my waist as we stood by the rail watching the waters. Even though I felt as if I was going to throw up all over the place, I did my best to try to enjoy it. When I couldn’t contain my sickness anymore, I ran to the bathroom where I threw up everything I had just consumed.
“Bae, you good?” Murder asked.
“Yes, I’m just feeling a little seasick.” I replied.
“I knew I should have brought some sea sick pills, but shit I forgot.”
“It’s cool, I’ll just sip on some water.”
“Mia, you are so fucking beautiful.” He said, causing a wide smile to appear on my face.
“Thank you.”
“On the real, I am glad I found a woman like you.” He continued. “I’m not getting any older and I know in my heart this shit feels right. I had to talk to my mom’s about this shit because a nigga was really bugging out. When she told me that love had no limits, I knew this was the right thang to do.” He said, as I looked at him sideways.
When he got on one knee, I thought about jumping overboard. I was really feeling Murder and I enjoyed being with him, but I wasn’t certain that I wanted to marry him. If anything, I would have married Romeo ten times before I even accepted Murder’s marriage proposal. I could feel my body get so hot that I started to sweat as I watched him pull a ring out of his pocket.
“Mia, this shit feel so right. I need you on my team for life, marry a nigga.” He said, displaying the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. The way those diamonds sparkled in the sun let me know that the ring was official.
My phone started to ring and I felt like doing the Harlem shake right where I stood.
“I have to get that, it might be my mom.” I lied, making my way to my bag.
I had every intention on lying and saying that there was an emergency just to get myself out of this sticky situation. I was out here in the middle of nowhere with Murder and I wasn’t about to hurt his pride by saying no and end up losing my life. There was no way I was going to accept his proposal, so this lie I was about to cook up was my best bet.
“Hello?” I spoke into the phone.
“You have a collect call from an inmate Romeo Baker at the main jail. To accept press one.”
With my heart beating loudly out of my chest, my sweaty finger pressed against the number one. I didn’t know why Romeo was behind bars, but I just prayed it wasn’t for something that would have him locked up for a long time. He was skating on thin ice by getting arrested while being on probation, so I held my breath and waited to hear what he had to say.
“I failed the drug test.” Was the way he greeted me.
“But how? It’s been a hot minute since I smoked.” I replied.
“Is that baby you’re carrying mine?” He asked, causing my phone to slip out of my hand and fall onto the floor.
