Vassago's Reckoning Page 7

by Ravenna Tate

“No fucking way. No one drives my truck but me.”

“Okay. Want to grab some lunch while we’re out?”

He pulled her close, oblivious to the crowds bustling past them inside the mall. “No. I don’t want to fucking grab lunch.”

Leaning close to her ear, he kissed her neck, sending shivers down her spine. “I want to fuck you again.” Tiny kisses fluttered up and down her neck. “In your curvy, round ass, in your mouth, and in that hot, tight pussy.”

Marie was fairly certain a few people heard him, but the erotic images dancing through her head were more powerful than any mild embarrassment she felt. After everything he’d said to her outside the club, she was surprised he still wanted her. They would need to talk about it, but not now. Right now, all she wanted to do was hold him again. “Then you’d better drive fast.”

He literally carried her up the stairs once they were inside the club again. Marie laughed, only because no one had ever done that, and she was so delighted she didn’t know how to respond. They went into his room instead of hers, and before she could drop her bags on the floor, Jimmy was clawing at her coat and gloves.

Clothes went flying, torn off each other and dropped on the floor as he backed her up inside the room. He only stopped to grab a box of condoms out of the nightstand, but when he couldn’t get one on, he tossed them across the room. “Fuck it.”

He was naked, but she still had on her bra and panties. “Get those off or I’ll rip them off.”

Marie complied, and then moaned loudly when he kissed her, crushing her mouth in a rough kiss. Waves of desire crashed over her, blinding her senses to everything except his scent, the feel of his hands on her body, and his warm skin, next to hers.

He pushed her into a sitting position in an armchair and grabbed her head, pulling her close to his erect cock. She didn’t wait for him to tell her to open her mouth this time. Marie took his dick inside, moaning again as he fucked her mouth deep and hard.

She wrapped her hands around his thighs, grabbing his ass cheeks and then sliding them underneath to play with his balls. He yelled loudly and thrust harder, filling her mouth with hot cum. “Jesus Christ, Marie. Oh my fucking … oh fuck!”

It went on forever. When he finally stopped, she had just as much cum on her chin as inside her mouth. He sat on the ottoman and pulled her hips forward, spreading her legs and diving for her pussy. Marie grabbed his hair as he licked and sucked her clit. When he pushed two fingers inside her, she flexed her Kegel muscles and willed her orgasm closer.

But she barely needed to do that. He was so fucking talented that he brought it on within moments. The contractions were still going strong when he lifted her to her feet, sat in the chair, and pulled her down on top of him. He guided his cock into her pussy, and she wrapped her arms around him as he thrust upward, hard and deep.

He grasped her hips and moved her up and down, slamming his dick into her until it hurt. And still he hadn’t come again. She’d never been with a man, especially one older than she was, who could get so hard so quickly, and come so many times within hours. He must drive the women here insane with lust.

When he stopped moving, he kissed her, slowly enough to make her crazy with desire. “I want to fuck you in the ass.”

  “Okay.”

She moved off him carefully, and he grabbed her arm, pulling her over to the bed. He turned her around. “Bend over the edge with your feet on the floor.”

Oh, this was very sexy. She heard him cross the room and glanced over to watch him carry the box of condoms he’d tossed earlier to the bed. He put one on, and removed a tube of lube from the nightstand. When he wet his finger with it and slid into her asshole, Marie moaned softly.

“I hope that’s a satisfied moan, because I don’t want to hurt you.”

“It doesn’t hurt.” It burned for a few seconds, but once he stretched the walls and there was enough lube in there, she was fine. Vince had never been careful when he fucked her in the ass, but this wasn’t Vince. Jimmy would be different. She forced her muscles to relax.

He played with her ass cheeks, lightly slapping them as he had earlier. “I’ve seriously never seen a sexier ass.”

  “I’m glad you like it.”

“And I’m glad you’re not all weird about your size, talking about it all the time, or worried over it.”

“Hey, I look the way I look.”

“Fucking A. Exactly.” He gently bit her left cheek. “And who the hell wants to fuck a damn stick? Woman are supposed to be curvy.”

Marie giggled. He was so playful, just as he’d been when she’d known him in Brooklyn. Of course, this was different, but it sent a warm sensation coursing through her to realize how many of her fantasies were coming true today. And the reality was better. Far better.

When he finally slipped his cock into her asshole, she grabbed the blanket again and moaned loudly as delicious sensations spread throughout her body. He thrust gently, slowly, and tears sprang to her eyes because of that. His hand underneath her kept the tiny contractions going, so the climax seemed to go on for long moments.

“Marie, I need to fuck harder.” His voice was rough and edgy, and it sent shivers down her spine.

  “Go ahead. This feels wonderful.”

He withdrew, and then two fingers were in there again, filling her asshole with more lube. When he shoved his dick back inside, all she felt was pleasure. He thrust quickly and deeper than earlier, and the now-familiar grunts and yells accompanied it.

After he came and pulled out, he went into the bathroom and returned with a wet washcloth. Marie hadn’t moved. She didn’t want to. All she wanted to do was stay here in this room, and fuck Jimmy until she couldn’t stand it any longer. Which might take quite a while. He was that good.

She was surprised when he cleaned her up. That was definitely a first. Afterward, he helped her stand, pulled back the covers, and gathered her into his arms. “I’m hungry. Are you hungry?”

“Yes. We skipped lunch. Remember?” When he chuckled, she smiled. “I did offer.”

“Yes, you did.” He kissed her. “But this was better, don’t you think?” He picked up the phone next to his bed. “Creamy, bring up a tray with lunch for two to my room, okay?”

  Creamy?

“Thanks.” He replaced the receiver. “Be about ten minutes. They’re just finishing up in the dining room.”

“Remind me again who Creamy is?”

“Connie. She’s a sweetbutt who’s on kitchen duty.”

“Dare I even ask why she has that nickname?”

He chuckled again. “Um, one guess.”

  “Do they all have nicknames?”

“No, not everyone. Some of them are stage names, like Chloe. Her stage name is Legs.”

“What would my nickname be if I had one?”

“I’ll have to think about it.”

A knock on the door had Marie pulling up the covers, but all Jimmy did was tell the person to come in. Marie vaguely recalled meeting Connie the night before. She put the tray on the table and barely glanced at the two of them.

  “Thanks, Creamy.”

  “Not a problem.”

After the door closed, she and Jimmy sat at the table, still naked, and ate their lunch. “How long were you here before you got used to being naked in front of everyone?”

He winked. “I’m not naked in front of everyone.”

  “You know what I mean.”

“I don’t know. It never really bothered me. We’re not shy about fucking in front of each other.”

“Oh, yes. The room in the back of the club.”

The look he gave her was pure lust. “Want to try it out Tuesday night?”

“Well, I don’t know. Wouldn’t that be an invitation for them to join in?”

“No. Not even close. No one here would do that without permission. And if they tried to, or did do it, they’d be gone. We don’t tolerate that shit. We don’t force women to fuck, and we don’t touch s
omeone else’s property.”

Marie raised her brows and stopped in the process of bringing her fork to her mouth. “When did I become your property?”

For a brief second, he looked confused, but then it was gone. “I didn’t mean you were. I just meant it in general terms. We agreed not to fuck anyone else while you were here, remember? So no one would touch you without my permission.”

“And what about without my permission?”

  “Of course. That’s implied.”

It was now or never. “Jimmy, what we talked about before we went to the mall … I wanted to tell you that I probably would have married Vince if I hadn’t helped Sofia get away. But I also see now how horrible that would have been. It wouldn’t have been fair to either one of us.”

All he did was nod. “Thought so. I’m no fucking shrink, but don’t you think you made the decision to help her as a way to get out of the engagement, as much as to get even with the way he treated you? Even if you weren’t aware that’s what you were doing at the time?”

“Christ. I never looked at it that way before. You might be right.”

“Doesn’t matter if I am or not. What matters is that you never do that again to another man. Stay true to yourself, Marie. Marry someone because you love them and want to spend your life with them. Not to spite your parents or anyone else. Break up with someone when you no longer want to be with them.”

  “That’s sound advice.”

“All right then. We’re done talking about it, right?”

She smiled. “Yes. We are.” The past two weeks had been a whirlwind of emotions. First, the most impulsive thing she’d ever done. Then fear and a sense of doom, lies to one of her closest friends, and seeing Jimmy again after so many years.

She was safe here, as long as Jimmy and Digger went through with their plans. But now she’d landed in a sexual relationship with Jimmy, and she had no clue what would happen. She didn’t know if she could ever return to Brooklyn, or how long they’d let her stay here if she decided she could not.

Her feelings were all mixed up, and she couldn’t get a handle on his. He had his life here, and she certainly didn’t fit in with that. And yet, there were brief moments when something he said, or a look he gave her, made it appear as if he wanted her to be part of that life. But how could that be?

They had known each other for almost two decades, but not really. Not in this way, certainly. They only knew each other from their time together so long ago. In every other aspect, they were strangers. She knew Digger better than she knew Jimmy, only she’d never had sex with Digger. Jimmy had likely fucked every woman Marie had met last night, and more than one time, she’d guess. Once she left, he’d pick up where he had left off. This was temporary.

So why was he acting at times like it wasn’t? What had she missed? What wasn’t clear?

Then again, wanting her not to fuck any other guy while she was here, and agreeing not to fuck other women, wasn’t the same as hoping she’d stay for good.

The last thing she needed to do was read more into this than what he intended it to be. She’d already been trashed, emotionally. And she certainly didn’t want that to happen with Jimmy. No. She needed to keep her feet on the ground and her head out of her ass.

They hadn’t finished eating when the door opened. It was Gorgon. Marie yelped and crossed her arms, but Jimmy wasn’t even fazed. “What the fuck is it now?”

“Donny is here. He’s asking for you and Digger.” Gorgon cut his gaze toward Marie. “And you, too.”

  Chapter Eleven

Fuck! “We’ll be down in a minute.” As soon as Gorgon closed the door, Vassago picked up Marie’s clothes and handed them to her. “Hurry up.”

“How does he know I’m here? Who told him? Holy shit!”

  “Marie, please. Just get dressed.”

“Why does he want to see me? Does he know what I did to Vince?”

“I don’t fucking know, do I? But when Donny comes here and asks to see us, we go. Period.”

Finally, she began putting her fucking clothes on. “He found out your plan, I’ll bet,” she said.

  “Ya think?”

“But why does he want to see me? How does he know where I am?”

“You’ll find out soon enough. Ready?”

  “Hang on. Jeez.”

By the time he and Marie walked into the office Donny used at the club, Digger was there. Vassago was glad not to see Gorgon. His cousin looked upset, but not angry. Vassago let out the breath he was holding.

Donny smiled at Marie. “It’s been too long.” He cut his gaze toward Vassago briefly before addressing Marie again. “How are you doing?”

“I’m all right, Donny. And you?” She sounded cautious and confused, but Vassago couldn’t blame her. He felt the same way right now. He didn’t dare glance toward Digger.

“I’m all right. But I’ve heard things, and wanted to clear up the questions I had.” He leaned forward and tented his hands. “What brought you to Creek Ridge with Digger?”

Oh fuck. If she lied to Donny, Vassago would have no choice but to set the record straight. And if he did that, not only would he throw her under the bus, but any chance he had of making her his own would be lost forever.

She started to speak, but Vassago cut her off. “Donny, she was scared. She ran. It was an impulsive, stupid move, but she knows that. Digger accepted her apology, and so did everyone in this building.”

Donny gave him an indulgent look. “I’d like to hear it from her, if you don’t mind.” Underneath the soft tone was the edge he knew only too well. And then it struck him. She’d been right. He already knew. Somehow, he’d found out. How stupid he’d been to imagine this wouldn’t eventually get back to Donny.

Marie gave Vassago one desperate look, and he nodded, hoping she correctly interpreted that as him telling her that the only way out of this was to tell Donny the absolute truth.

“I ran into Sofia Genova. It was a coincidence. She told me Lenny was dead, and she was probably next. They owed Roberto di Stefano a lot of money, and they hadn’t paid him, despite being given chances to do so.”

“When was this?” Donny’s expression and tone were all business now. Vassago dared to sneak a glance at Digger, who was visibly sweating. Jesus Christ.

“Less than a week before I came here.”

  “Go on.”

“I need to back up a bit. Vince only wanted to marry me because he was hoping you’d throw work his way. He was using my family’s association with you as a way to branch outside of Brooklyn and get in your good graces.”

Donny nodded. Nothing in his expression indicated this wasn’t something he hadn’t already heard.

“I helped Sofia get away. I got her fake IDs and took some money out of the bank. Something Vince had let drop about a recent job led me to believe that target had been Lenny. Vince couldn’t prove what I did, at least not at the time, but when he confronted me about Sofia, it was clear he suspected I had a hand in her disappearance.”

  “Keep going.”

“I went to a friend’s house in Jersey. Someplace he wouldn’t look for me. I found out he’d been having me followed since we got engaged, and that’s how he knew I had lunch with Sofia, went to the bank, and got fake IDs.”

“How is it no one saw you give those items to Sofia?’

“I didn’t give them to her. We arranged a drop-off through one of my friends.”

“The same one whose house you went to in Jersey?’

“No. When I got there, to that particular friend’s house, I made sure I wasn’t followed. Digger had told me about coming here for a visit a few days prior, so I lied to him and asked to come along.”

“Had Vince given you any indication before all this that he wasn’t marrying you because he loved you?”

  “Yes.”

  “Tell me about that.”

“Well, he put me down all the time. Said I was low life trash and so was my family. Threw the history in my fa
ce. Hated my job and my friends.”

“And yet you said ‘yes’ to him. Why is that?”

“He wasn’t saying those things when we were dating.”

Vassago wanted desperately to hold her, but it was also important to let Donny have his say. Whatever he’d found out, he also was fishing for more information on Marie’s and Vince’s relationship.

“When did he start putting you and your family down?”

“Pretty much after I had the ring on my finger.”

Donny leaned back. “You’re missing a piece, Marie. Not your doing. You couldn’t have known this. I never would have sent any work Vince’s way. He’s too close to di Stefano, and he once betrayed a man named Anthony LoPresti. You likely know the family name.”

  “Who doesn’t?”

Vassago and Digger exchanged an astonished glance. “You’re kidding,” said Digger.

“I’m not. Vince worked alone for a reason. He has a history of betrayal and lies.”

Marie put a hand to her mouth.

“Are you gonna be sick?” asked Vassago.

  She shook her head.

“You were right about Sofia and Lenny,” said Donny. “Di Stefano paid Vince to kill Lenny. When that still didn’t produce the money from Sofia, he was supposed to take her out, too.”

“I didn’t know for certain that Vince was set to take her out at the time.”

“Why did you do it, then?”

“I don’t know.” She cut her gaze toward Vassago, and he nodded again. She might as well tell Donny everything. “Jimmy—I mean Vassago and I talked about that. We think I gave into my impulse as a way to get back at Vince for treating me so badly.”

“If that hadn’t happened, when were you gonna break it off?”

Vassago almost spoke again because it was creepy the way Donny had just zeroed in on the exact thing he’d asked Marie earlier.

“I don’t know. I should have. I was marrying for the wrong reasons.”

  “Your family.”

  “Yes. They hated him.”

“But he broke it off when he suspected you helped Sofia.”
